My friends and I were looking for healthy late lunch spot and stumbled upon this place online. Four out of five of us ordered the winter salad and my fifth friend ordered the wedge salad. Overall the food was very delicious especially considering salads or some times pretty simple plates. I also ordered the butter bread rolls which were amazing, they make there own butter and you can taste the difference! Really cute spot if you're looking for some casual and traditional dishes.

This was our first lunch stop after settling down in our hotel, and it was so delicious! We came just in time for happy hour, and everything was delicious. I ordered a blackberry mule, and it was refreshing and well balanced. My friends and I also got espresso martinis, and they were objectively delicious but too strong for me (I'm a baby when it comes to the taste of liquor). We had a great time munching on their salad, Parker rolls, and pizza. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in the town, so I highly recommend you stop in for their happy hour as well! Our waiter was so friendly and nice, and service was top notch.

We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Tried the duck breakfast bowl and bison Benny. Wow!!! Flavors are amazing. We loved every bite and service was excellent

Super healthy and fresh ingredients! Tasted incredibly clean and honestly a great break from everything we had been eating on the trip. It's located inside a hotel. Interior was super cute and giving modern rustic. We didn't have a reservation for brunch, and they were pretty packed because it was Christmas, but they were still able to fit us in which we really appreciated. Service was quick and our waitress was super sweet.

Great food and friendly service! We stopped in for a quick bite and our waiter was very accommodating. We ordered ducking good time and holy cow. Names of the dishes are quirky and fun. The duck dish was better than the beef, although both were very good. The interior was really nice too, good lighting and overall pleasant ambiance.

Farm & Fire was the first meal I ate in Banff before our tour to Lake Louise and it was memorable. We had no reservation and luckily got seated in about 5 mins. Service was prompt. Shout out to our server Tommy (Australian guy) for being friendly and helpful with recs. Restaurant is cozy, vibrant, and busy. I got the classic breakfast and a latte. I honestly thought this place was a tourist trap and had no expectations but the food was so fresh and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed everything on my plate and was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Highly recommend!

This was our last day in Banff, and we came to town to get some lunch. It was raining outside, so we didn't spend a lot of time searching for a lunch spot. The bus dropped us right outside of the Farm Fire, so we checked it out. It's inside/adjacent to the Elm + Avenue Hotel. Lot of big windows and a spacious dining area. We put our name on a list, but only had to wait 15 minutes. It was late morning and the dining room was already full. We had a group of 4. Got settled in right away with waters, and menus. After putting in for our beverages we were able to order right away. Our service was a friendly young man, and did a very nice job of taking care of us. I ordered the avocado toast with poached eggs and some braised bison. My partner got the burger. We also ordered a side of the roasted chicken. For being so busy, it didn't take that long to get our food. Everything was hot, and good portions. My avocado toast was just okay. I expected the bison meat to be more flavorful. The roasted chicken was amazingly good, and very moist. The smashburger was also a hit. Nice place for a lunch. Could be a bit noisy at times, but you could still have a reasonable conversation.

Farm & Fire serves brunch daily, which was perfect for us on vacation. When we arrived, we were seated right away at a table that could accommodate our stroller. They had a good list of cocktails and mocktails and I really enjoyed the mocktail I ordered. I also liked the strawberry French toast I had. The vibes are cool and modern with a semi open kitchen and signs showing the farms where they source their food.

Came for dinner; good amount of food! Recommend calling ahead in case reservations are needed. We came on a weekday night at 8p and was able to be seated. Pizza was good. Trout good too! Server recommended we share the entree with two sides but we did want pizza. We got brussel sprouts for a side but seemed a little undercooked.

Vegetable Wellington

Attached to a hotel, this is a bustling restaurant for a weekday dinner during shoulder season. They have a rotisserie and pizza oven with a variety of items on their menu. The bread with butter was a good starter for sharing. The summer squash pizza was flavorful with a thin crust. The vegetable Wellington was underwhelming as a vegetarian option, and we found it had a one note flavor. The rest of the party enjoyed the rotisserie chicken, saying it was not dry and seasoned well. The side of mashed potatoes was the highlight of the meal. Great ambiance and friendly service too.

Overall, we had a great experience at Farm & Fire. It's a contemporary space with a beautiful interior and nice outdoor patio. Waitstaff was friendly and made good recommendations. We enjoyed both our meals, but the breakfast potatoes were underdone unfortunately. Next time we would like to try their dinner because we've heard others rave about it!

Salmon lox without the bagel
Jason L.

This place is part of a trendy tourist hotel but the food is pretty good. I came during brunch time that lasts until 2pm. I got the salmon lox and was expecting the usualy salmon, capers and a bagel. Instead, there was no bagel but had fingerling potatoes instead. It was pretty good but the salmon felt lacking volume for the price paid. But then again, this is in a touristy hotel so it is what it is. The people here are very nice and I enjoyed the easy going feel of the entire establishment. I would come again but for dinner instead.

Holy Cow bowl, Farm Burger, and side of bacon
Sabrina L.

We stopped by here for brunch without a reservation and was seated within 5 minutes. We ordered the Holy Cow, Farm Burger, and a side of bacon. The Holy Cow was decent but nothing too special. The Farm Burger was really good and juicy! The side of bacon was on the crispy side, which I liked. Overall, I would recommend this spot if you're looking for a solid breakfast/lunch spot.

I visited Bear Street Tavern based off of a recommendation by a coworker. Beer and pizza is usually…read morea winning combination and Bear Street Tavern is a great example of this. Admittedly, I'm not much of a drinker but I'll have some once in a while and Bear Street seems to have a pretty good selection. I tried a Vietnamese Coffee Stout which I enjoyed. I'm definitely more of an eater than I am a drinker and the eats at Bear Street Tavern are excellent. My party got 2 pizzas and a salad and we enjoyed it all. To start we got the Tavern Bowl. It's a bunch of different vegetables with a Tahini Miso Dressing and kimchi on top. All the different textures and flavors worked really well together and the salad served as a nice break between bites of pizza. The Wheeler Hut pizza has mushrooms, ricotta, truffle oil, pesto, and mozzarella. If you're a fan of truffle flavor you'll enjoy this pizza. As soon as it was brought out I could already smell the truffle. The Mediterranean has olives, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, red onions, chili flakes, spinach, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. A little busier than the Wheeler Hut, but it was equally delicious. I'm not sure which pizza I liked more. Both pizzas had a fantastic crust with some char. Substantial enough to stand up to the toppings but still a little doughy for a nice chew. The char gives a nice crunch as well. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are fair, especially in a tourist area. I definitely recommend Bear Street Tavern.

We were so pleasntly surprised that even brewhouses in the area had such limited selection. We got the double double pizza and a sandwich, which were so delicious and flavorful. We came here on a whim to find a nice place to eat as we were on our way to Lake Louise. We walked around town to find a place to eat and my wife loves Italian, so we tried to walk in at about 6pm. Luckily for us, there was an open seat (reservation are highly recommended.. it was packed). We were greeted by the waiter who gave us the choice of sparkling or still water. Fancy schmancy. We got the still house water. The place was packed, full, and a bit loud, but also romantic given the atmosphere and the views. Good place to take a date, but not a good place if you wanted a private booth/moment. I ordered the seafood linguine, and my wife ordered the spicy rigatoni alla vodka. We also ordered the little gem caesar to share, and she also go the coffee martini for her drink. I got soda. The caesar came out and it was one of the best caesars I had. It was presented by having two baby heads of romaine lettuce covered with caesar dressing. Very tasty and creamy. Very very good! Next time, I am going to order one for just myself! Only eating one baby romaine head left me wanting more! After the salad, the pastas came out and the seafood linguine was remarkable! Presented as a bundle of linguini with seafood on the sides, all covered in white wine/clam sauce. One of THE BEST seafood linguines I have ever tried! My wife's spicy rigatoni was spicy and had a kick (I am Thai so take that for what it's worth). My wife thought it was a bit too spicy for her, but overall the dish was meh. Reminds me of the pasta alla vodka at Cheesecake Factory, but without the sausage. I do believe if there was an option to add sausage, the dish would've been 100x better. The dish just got bland the more you ate it. And because of this, I ended up eating the rigatoni, and my wife ate the linguini lol. Just kidding.. kinda. We shared our plates :) I highly recommend this place. The rigatoni was nothing special, but everything else was spectacular. We were even contemplating going back there on our drive home, but it opened at 4pm that day, and that was too late on our schedule to wait. Nevertheless, we'll be back again!

Below are the dishes we ordered: scallop crudo -- absolutely delicious! The scallops were so fresh and the sauce was so yummy. Loved the crispies on top (potato?). This was my favorite dish from our visit! winter squash pizza -- this sounded so unique so we had to try it! It was flavorful, and the star was definitely the crust!! The pizza crust is the best I've ever had; it was perfectly airy and light! rigatoni carbonara -- the rigatoni was a bit undercooked and the guanciale was overcooked. Overall, we did not enjoy this dish and would not recommend it. We were a bit disappointed about the pasta but enjoyed the other two dishes we ordered!
