Not sure where to start on this one. The meals came out before the appetizer, every other table had dirty plates on them and no one was bussing, it took at least 10 minutes to get a refill. I can't believe the hotel allows this place to represent them. read more

We had buffet breakfasts & a dinner in our hotel, in the Crave Mountain Grill. Lucas was the waiter assigned to our room, he cleared tables, took drink orders & came around with a thermos refilling our coffee mugs. Craven was very busy when we were there. There were many different travel groups coming and going. The breakfast buffet was abundant. There were hot, chafing dishes with chicken or pork sausages, French toast, pancakes, potatoes, and scrambled eggs. The was a toaster with a bread bar, some sliced meats, sliced fresh fruits, yogurts, cheeses, a cereal bar, a juice selection, and a smoothie. The dinner was lovely. I enjoyed all of the fresh vegetable options. The Caprese salad, balsamic basil vinaigrette were fabulous. The chicken and a vegetarian pasta dish were beautifully displayed. The desserts were as good as they looked. We enjoyed our abundant dinner. read more

Wow - how could service be SUPER crappy at a buffet? It is at Crave Mountain Grill!! Our waitress couldn't be bothered to greet us, or give us coffee, or water...it was so bizarre I had to ask her if she was actually our waitress. She just kept making a bee line to other tables over and over again to refill their cups and then seemed to avert her eyes as she passed ours. I finally asked her and she said she was our waitress but she too busy to serve us...at all. Seriously? All we needed was coffee and you couldn't handle it? Array of food for breakfast buffet was abundant. Lots of stuff to choose from. It was annoying to arrive at 7 when they were supposed to open and see it was SWARMED with two tour groups. Why make actual hotel guests wait to eat when you let large outside groups in early? We wouldn't go back. I'd rather walk to whitebark cafe where the coffee was great and the service was warm. read more

We went there for breakfast (we went a la carte instead of the buffet) and ordered the French toast and pancakes. They both were fairly large servings so, 3 of us could share. The service was fast (probably since we went closer to 10:30am) and polite. This is on the 2nd floor but didn't really get much of a view. read more

We stayed at the Banff Lodge and while staying there we enjoyed our breakfast here. Even though there were large groups of people the service was excellent. I would like to acknowledge Ross that went out of his way to make our dining experience positive. He was attentive and very helpful. He was exceptional. read more

Do not care to come back at all. Walked in for brunch (the restaurant is located in the Banff Park Lodge, took us forever to find it) was seated immediately since it was not busy. The restaurant is buffet style at least on Sunday mornings. They had different stations starting with breakfast food and ending in desserts. They also had a station that served Asian cuisine which I thought was random. They also have a small kids section (just chicken nuggets and fries). I could not really find the drink station, the orange juice was located in the section that served Asian cuisine, which was a little confusing. I do not think the stations and the locations of the stations made sense. The food was super average and some things did not taste great. Overall this place was not great. There are so many other good restaurants in Banff to try out. read more

I've eaten here many many times as I grew up in the area, and often go back to visit. This upscale cafe type restaurant is on the 2nd floor. It used to boast a very pretty view - which is why we often are there, but sadly the view isn't there anymore with new homes/development. The restaurant itself is very nice and clean. Our food was just okay. My sister had a delicious burger - that came with a basket of about 10 fries. My mom had the chicken fingers. It came with about a million fries and very overcooked chicken. How can you screw those up? I had a tasty salmon potato salad that could have fed 50 people with the potatoes alone. It was good though, and the salmon was delicious. The service was another thing. We were one of two parties in the room on a Friday afternoon. Our waitress took our order, and brought us food. She never once checked on us, or appeared again. No water refills, nothing. We had to flag her down for the bill. Considering the high cost of the meal, the generally mediocre food (this restaurant is surrounded by hundreds of other places to eat), and the incredibly poor service, I wasn't impressed. I expect that's my last visit to eat here. read more

I got the beyond meat burger, and to my surprise, it was actually very tasty. I would only take off a star because it was pretty pricey for what it was, but all in all, not a bad a bad place to eat! It also wasn't super busy, which is great when you're eating in banff! read more

The $20 breakfast buffet was worth the price, with a good selection of items. We also had the excellent Banana Bread Waffles and B.C. Smoked Salmon Bagels. Claudia, our server, was very friendly and helpful with our menu selections. She was very knowledgeable of the menu items, and kept our drinks filled. I recommend this restaurant. Note that the name is now Crave Mountain Grill. $56 for three people is good value. read more

An Alberta, Canada vacation had me eating my way through Calgary, Banff and Jasper. I had many amazing dishes but the Organic Salmon dish at Crave in Banff was by far the best. I would have given it 5 stars had the salmon been cooked to perfection but it was pretty darn close. The maple mustard glaze makes this so delish but the potatoes and veggies brought it all together. The side salad was colorful and the dessert of Oreo marshmallow cheesecake was perfect, served with fresh berries, including my first ever gooseberry. read more

I think that this restaurant, inside the Banff Park Lodge, might have been re-branded as "Crave", but that is neither here nor there. To sum up our Sunday Brunch Buffet - definitely quantity over quality. I think it would be hard to find a brunch buffet that offers more for the price ($30/adult) - eggs of all sorts, breakfast meats, french toast and pancakes, cheese & charcuterie, seafood, pastries and breads, salads, fruit, prime rib and ham, desserts plus many things that I am sure I have forgotten. All of it looked wonderful, the problem is that most of it tasted kind of meh. I could literally go down the list and find fault with the quality of virtually everything on my plate ie: omelette too oily, fruit not ripe and flavourless, french toast greasy tasting, etc. All edible, just not very good. Even the coffee and tea was not the best. My parents and my husband seemed to like it all better than I did. read more

If you enjoy French toast..... you have to stop here and try the banana bread French toast. It's out of this world. The service was awesome and they also bring coffee straight to your table, which i enjoy. I think this is a must in Banff!! read more

Crave was such a gem of a restaurant and just a short walk off of the busy main Banff road. We were taken aback and concerned that there was only one table seated and no one waiting when we arrived. (It was a Monday evening.) We ordered beers and cocktails off of a very extensive drink menu...all delicious. For dinner we order the king salmon, the chicken club, the prime rib sandwich and beef street tacos. No one was disappointed. The menu has extensive entrees but we were not quite that hungry. And based on the quality of our meal i feel certain everything on the menu is delicious! Our waitress was very friendly and checked back on us often. Pretty sure if this was located on the main road and had better signage outside the hotel it was located inside of on the second floor they would be very busy. Don't be afraid to venture off the main road for dinner. read more

For an in hotel restaurant this is very good. And if you consider some of the reviews of the steak houses in town that either are more highly priced or not a good setting then Crave holds up very well. We were there on a Sat and both had a craving for the Prime Rib dinner. Got an early seating and had a beautiful window booth. They only downside was the 1/2 inch thick cut or Prime Rib. Would have preferred a thicker cut. That is the only reason for the 4 stars and not 5. read more

We got dinner here cause we saw good trip advisor reviews. Don't be fooled. I'm not one to ever write reviews, but this was hands-down the worst steak I've ever had, and two others in my party had the same terrible steak. After eating less than a 1/4 of it and sending it back, the manager took one of the three terrible steaks off our bill. Whoa, thanks man! You can get a better steak from chili's, and I wish I had. Run away! We had a group of 20 and we were registered at the hotel for a wedding where we dropped thousands of dollars. When we booked the restaurant for a group of 20 for the post rehearsal dinner the food took an hour and a half to come and it never did come in when we decided to leave after waiting the management gave us a real hard time and wanted us to pay for the food even though it hadn't even come out yet. We had to argue with an arrogant manager who said that he was in charge one of the group and our party went down to the front desk and another manager came and she was almost as bad. Finally we laughed and didn't have to pay for anything but our drinks. I would never recommend this restaurant. We had to then go out and find places to eat all separately. We went to Earls a group of six and we were served excellent food with wonderful service in half an hour even though the restaurant was packed. read more
