a plate of food

Wow, this place is very very expensive for what you get. The restaurant is a mom and pop shop that makes home cook meals. Their menu is all over the place from steaks, perogies, pasta, curry bowls, etc. They don't specialize in anything. (If Gordon Ramsay came to this restaurant, he would freak out!) However, prices are quite high for what they serve. I ordered the perogy plate and was kind of hoping the perogies were made in house. I even asked the server if it was and she said yes. However, you can tell from my picture that the perogies are perfectly formed. Homemade perogies are never perfect shapes. For $25 it was a rip off. My husband ordered a steak for $32, while it was alright it was a cheap cut of steak that was pan fried and again not worth the price. On top of that, the restaurant has bad ventilation system. Your clothes will smell when you get home. This restaurant is great if you are a terrible cook and miss mom and dad's home cook meal but be prepared to pay high prices for the meal.

Service is ridiculously bad. We were given a bell to shake when we were ready. Only one lady working the front of house. She was nice...but slow. No drink order taken....took it with food order....diet cokes extremely flat and gross. Food was all but inedible. My parents ate most of theirs because they were starving....i had two bites of my "bad cafeteria" food. Such a rip off at the prices. 23.99-29.99!?!?!? Avoid at all costs. Also, ambiance was confused and in shambles. Jewelry, art, and plants for sale, with cut out pictures of drinks and desserts taped to walls...just avoid this place at all times.

This place is a "must visit" if you are anywhere near Canmore. I go every time I'm in town and I always leave beyond satasfied. Victor is a world- class chef that has a real passion for food and it shows in his dishes. Pictures and words do no justice.. you have to try it for yourself. Aside from the food, Victor is a fabulous host and I always enjoy good conversation. (Great place to bring a date) P.S... Mountain View

We came here twice with family on a vacation trip to Banff. The first was with a family of four and the second was with our whole group of 19. Every restaurant we tried to book denied us for seating except for the kind folks at Elita who immediately booked us! The host is extremely welcoming, warm and makes you feel like you're a guest entering his home. The restaurant itself is very quaint and sports local art and sells handmade shawls and geode necklaces. The food is quite amazing and has a variety of food from all around the world. Every food item that we tried had amazing flavor and exquisite taste. Not to mention they were extremely accommodating for those of us that had food restrictions it made their eating experience which is usually sour much livelier. The food itself definitely had a "homestyle" touch to it which was unique and refreshing. This coupled with the breathtaking view of the Canadian Rockies made every penny spent worth it. If you're staying in Canmore or visiting and thinking of eating around, you would seriously be missing out by not coming to Elita.

Moroccan mushroom feta salad

The good news is that the menu will accommodate any food mood. Ever get frustrated when the SO can't decide what she wants and doesn't match your cravings ? Have no fear Elita is here! Quite the mix of Asian to Greek to Moroccan on the menu. Ordered the Moroccan feta mushroom salad and the Athena Greek salad with chicken. We were initially helped by the chef who was donning his chef garb as he returned to finish telling us the daily specials. Apparently they get clientele who have all kinds of food allergies. Wtf?? The food was fresh and tasty albeit a bit expensive (Greek salad was $17 plus $6 for chicken breast add on). Service was friendly. Food was 4 for taste and freshness and service was also 4 while ambiance was 3.

Not the greatest food or service. Portions are tiny unfortunately. The halal menu is different from the regular menu and it's very pricey.

This restaurant has a pretty good website detailing a wide breath of offerings. People were super nice. Food was not great. Overpriced.

This was our last restaurant that we had the pleasure of visiting in Canmore, and we definitely ended up saving the best for last. I chose this restaurant as the spot to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday because I wanted it to be special and it definitely delivered! First off, the service at this spot is impeccable. They truly hire professional, genuine, skilled, and crafty people here who really care about food and the experience. It was very telling and we wanted to highlight that observation. Secondly, the cocktails. During our trip, we were lucky to have Josh as our bartender and not only did he truly know the ins and outs of the liquor and the ingredients that he used, you can tell that he has really perfected the craft at creating a beautifully presented cocktail, and this was already noticed by the way he cuts an orange. The cocktails here were basically like an art piece and had some of the most creative presentations I've ever seen. My cantaloupe island cocktail even had an herb popsicle in it and the after noon cocktail had mint sorbet incorporated into the presentation too, which was none like I've had before. Food-wise, they start you with a complimentary palette cleanser, which was a mini donut topped with fennel and caviar, which was exquisite and enhanced the experience. We then chose the foie gras, root salad, and mackerel as our smaller dishes and the duck and cod as our main course dishes. I swear to you.. each dish that we tried, we looked at each other in awe because we were baffled that something could taste that wonderful and look so aesthetically pleasing at the same time. Our favorite was the cod main course, which happened to be the newest menu item at the time. We also got the baked alaska for dessert since we wanted to complete the entire course, and that was beautifully presented and flavorful as well. The main chef/owner, Danny Beaulieu, and his team absolutely killed everything on this menu, and we were even able to meet with the owner and to speak with him during our visit here. It was a truly lovely experience and we are big time rooting for the restaurant's success. We are really thankful that we were able to experience Ankor and appreciate the love, care, and effort put into this spot. We will definitely see you again and hope to be back soon! :)

We were on our honeymoon and ended up dining at Juniper three separate times during our trip. That alone should say something. The food quality, consistency, and service were exceptional every single visit. Our server, Hera, delivered service that genuinely surpassed what we've experienced at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants. Attentive without hovering, warm, knowledgeable, and effortlessly professional, she made each meal feel special and memorable. On a honeymoon, that level of care matters, and she nailed it. The food deserves its own spotlight. The Eggs Benedict is the best we've ever had. Perfectly executed, balanced, rich without being heavy, and clearly made with intention. The Churro French Toast is unforgettable: indulgent, crisp, soft, and expertly seasoned. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted, not just "good for a hotel restaurant," but genuinely outstanding by any standard. We regularly dine at Michelin-recognized restaurants, and while Juniper Bistro is not Michelin-listed, the food quality here was better than many Michelin meals we've had. That's not hyperbole, it's an honest comparison.

May 12, 2026. Everything about the Maple leaf was…read moreoutstanding! My wife enjoyed a nice sparkling Prosecco to kick off the evening with our nice-sized Prince Edward Island oysters. We then shared a Waldorf salad, which was refreshing and nice. Then we both selected red wine varietals grown in Canada. I had a Cabernet/Merlot blend which was super great. Would've never guessed it was from Canada. Next, My wife enjoyed a Pinot Noir that was light and complimented our entrée perfectly. Our entrée was the fillet and prawns served over a garlic mashed potato. This is an absolutely extraordinary dish. We shared it and it was just enough for two people. It is a full meal for one person. The filet temperature preparation was perfect. The prawns were extraordinary, and the garlic mashed potato made you curl your toes! Then we closed the evening with the melted chocolate soufflé, which was divine. Here's the one thing that they missed and to me it's an important miss. They use an automated system for taking reservations. And it kept asking for my name to which I said "Chris" and the automated system kept asking me what's your name!? So it asked hey fourth time and in my frustration I got playful and I said "Big Daddy." And it happily received my name and took my reservation. And then asked if there was any special occasion and I said yes my wife and I are celebrating our anniversary. I get that it may not seem normal to say "Big Daddy party for two". So I'll kind of let that pass because neither front door or upstairs Host was willing to ask. But what I don't like that was missed was our anniversary wasn't acknowledged. I was a server for years, and every host gave the server some type of chit or note to let them know if there is a special occasion. We specifically selected a higher end restaurant for anniversary. So somewhere in there, even if you weren't brave enough to say "Big Daddy for two." Someone still should've checked if you were celebrating any special occasion to which we were. Our anniversary. Our server was fabulous. She was super kind helpful and shared about her experience being in Banff. She made us feel great. My overall experience, the Mapleleaf is a great restaurant. But I'm scoring you an A- because you missed our anniversary. and that's why we chose you. So if you're going to use AI, you can't miss special occasions. Chris & Trisha from Long Beach, CA

5/5 -- Outstanding Experience at The Maple Leaf!…read more We had an incredible Birthday Dinner for our daughter at The Maple Leaf, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server and bartender, Megan. She was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and spot-on with her recommendations for both drinks and appetizers. We started the evening with a Maple Old Fashioned, which was perfectly balanced and set the tone for the night. For starters, we ordered the Fior Loaf Buttered Cheese Bread, which was warm, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Our family tried a variety of entrées, and every single one impressed: * Maple Salmon Prawns - flavorful and beautifully prepared * Mafalda Limone Pasta - bright, creamy, and comforting * Roasted Harvest Chicken - cooked perfectly with great seasoning * Bison Burger - juicy, unique, and packed with flavor To finish, we indulged in dessert with the Maple Crème Brûlée and the Hot Chocolate Soufflé--both outstanding and the perfect ending to a great meal. Overall, The Maple Leaf delivered an exceptional dining experience. Amazing food, warm ambiance, and standout service from Megan made this one of the best meals we've had.
