    Elk & Kale pizza
    Charon R.

We arrived with 5 minutes to spare before the end of Happy Hour so we quickly ordered our drinks! There were a few pizzas included on the happy hour menu but once we saw the elk and kale we knew that one would be worth full price! And it was! We asked for a side of marinara for dipping the crust. We received it but it was served cold which was a little odd. We were hungry so we just went with it. My husband is British and so was the bartender (we ate at the bar) so they had a bit of a chat which was nice. Great service, tasty beers and pie!

This was a cool brewery tucked in the heart of downtown Banff. The atmosphere is welcoming and they offer live music- a plus! The variety of beers were good, the waiter staff were attentive to guests needs and make wonderful suggestions. I can't forget to not that billboard sign that changes pictures-- this was cool I haven't seen anything like this before. Myself and plus 1 ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. I'd rate that 3.5/5 and my plus one said 5/5 --- I rated down as it was greasy and the chicken wasn't as crispy for mine, I ordered as is and he had some customization. I can note this wasn't spicy but good flavor. I would be willing to try again to note the beer and drinks were delicious.

We were visiting the city of Banff after going to Lake Louise, and stopped into Three Bears Brewery for lunch. We made a reservation prior as we had a large group of 12, but it looked like there was a decent amount of space inside. - PARKING - There's several open streets where you can find street parking, and just need to pay for the time you stay through the parking app. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - We were seated promptly since we had a reservation. I know large parties can be a lot to keep all the orders in check, but our server did a good job throughout the meal service. - FOOD - Three Bears Salad ($23.00): We wanted some greens in our meal and opted for the namesake option. I thought it was pretty good, and had a nice combination of flavors. Elk and Kale Pizza ($32.00): We wanted something a little bit more special so we got this Elk sausage pizza. The ingredients on this pizza were all great! The pizza dough was nice and airy as well. We also ordered the chili crisp on the side and it was a nice addition to have. Hard Apple Cider: I wanted something light but fruity, and saw this cider on their beer list. I wish they had more options though since this was called a brewery after all. - OVERALL - Solid spot for lunch, great sharable bites for groups.

We stopped by Three Bears Brewery for a casual lunch and drinks after visiting the lake, and before doing some shopping in the city. The interior has a cozy, cabin-like or woodsy vibe. I managed to try a couple of dishes since I shared with others in my party. I enjoyed both the Shrimp Bao Buns and Crispy Fried Wings as appetizers. For pizzas, we got the Mean Mr. Mushroom since I'm a huge mushroom lover, but I found the pizza to be a bit lacking in flavor, and it also felt dry. I tried my friend's Elk and Kale pizza and enjoyed that one much more. Lastly, our Three Bears Salad was alright. We had just wanted to squeeze some greens into our meal, and also added chicken to get a bit more protein in. The salad didn't wow me or anything but it did the job. For drinks, our waiter recommended the Alpenglow Spritz for those who like sweet drinks. I ordered it because the dragonfruit interested me, but I don't think I actually found the drink that sweet. It had a slight hint of medicine-like taste. It wasn't bad, but my expectations were higher and I think I would've enjoyed a beer more. Overall, you won't be blown away by any of the food here, but it's a decent option for a casual meal with drinks in downtown Banff.

I'm so glad that we had reservations here because when we came, it was a full house! I could not pick which beer to try and since I'm not from the area, I wanted to try Canadian beer! I ended up getting the flight and tried all their in-house beer! They were really good because they weren't too sweet, too hoppy, very light and refreshing! We had to try the most popular dish, which was the bison ribs! I actually did not expect to see two full on ribs! They were massive and very meaty. I don't even know if that's a word, but it was so good. Bison meat kind of reminded me of a tender beef jerky lol. No offense, but it was really good though. We also had the mushroom pizza with truffle and vegan cheese and substituted for red sauce. I love that the crust was made in the house and it was probably the best non-dairy pizza I've ever had lol. Dip the crust with the bison rib sauce! Our waiter was super cool and so nice! Overall, it was a great experience and we enjoyed our meal!

Unfortunate to report that our meal here was average, at best. The vibe and ambiance had great energy...but the service and actual dishes we ordered left a lot to be desired. Place was hopping the day we were there, so maybe they were just trying to keep up? Not sure. Beer selection and options were decent. I went with a porter as those are one of my favorites. I was malty and rich. For dinner I ordered their version of a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich that came with a side of waffle fries. At first glance, the sandwich was piled high with the friend chicken breast pieces, bacon, lettuce and pickle chips. But when i bit into the sandwich I quickly discovered that the fried filets were way too thin making for an awkward ration of breading to meat and given the thinness also meant very dry and overcooked chicken. My dining companions were also not overwhelmed by the quality of their food, but not as bad as mine. Wish I had better news to report...maybe another try someday to see if this was a one-time event.

Pizza with vegan cheese, Bison ribs with pomegranate sauce, fish & chips

Three bears brewery was a tasty brewery and dinner that I went to with my boyfriends family when in Canada and the food was very good, the service was kind, and the ambiance was homey. I was also especially happy that the pizza was able to be made with vegan cheese since I have a dairy allergy. The vegan pizza was tasty with tons of veggies and meat atop of it, but my favorite dish was the bison ribs with pomegranate glaze. This was hands down my favorite dish that we ordered as it was perfectly tender and fall of the bone with just the right amount of sweetness and savoriness in every single bite. The sauce paired perfectly with the meat. The fish and chips were also nicely battered and light without being too oily. We also decided to try and share a fruity beer but it was still a tad too bitter for our liking.

Stopped by Three Bears and had a yummy lunch. The food was excellent and the service even better. Our Irish server was an absolute legend, friendly to and somehow kept our table happy the entire time. At one point I'm pretty sure he could've convinced us to order a fourth meal just for the fun of it. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. If all restaurants had staff like this, I'd probably never cook again.

We had dinner at Three Bears while in downtown Banff. We made a reservation and were seated right away, but after that, the service was pretty slow compared to other places we ate in town. We ordered a few plates to share, which was definitely the way to go. We tried the Three Bears Salad, Crispy Fried Wings, Pepperoni & Chili Crisp Pizza, and the Alberta Bison Ribs. Everything tasted fresh and was easy to share, and it ended up being the perfect amount of food for the four of us. The bison ribs were my favorite--really tender with great flavor, and the pomegranate glaze was a nice touch. Overall, the food was solid, but the slow and somewhat inattentive service took away from the experience. I'd still recommend coming here for the food, just don't expect amazing service.

Dined here with three colleagues on a recent work trip and we had a great time. The space was open and modern. I loved the bear artwork at the front of the restaurant. Our server was lovely and checked in on us the right amount of times. Enjoyed a hearty French onion soup and a stellar Chinoise style chicken salad - it was so good I could eat this everyday and want to recreate it at home. I also had a half pint of their amber ale which was great. A couple of my co workers ordered the lettuce wraps and said they were amazing. I was full but knew I'd want dessert later so I ordered a sneaky chocolate cheesecake to go. Would definitely come back again!

Walked into Three Bears with no reservations and it almost felt like we were fated to dine here because a perfect round booth was waiting. A Quick Look at the menu and we were immediately attracted to the loaded waffle fries, several combinations of pizza, and the Nashville hot chicken. We also tried some cocktails, ciders, and the beer flight. Everyone enjoyed their choices and it was a good time overall! I personally enjoyed their kale and elk sausage pizza the best! It was unique but also had some bite from the kale and elk sausage. The mushroom pizza was right behind that with mushrooms generously smattering the entire pie. The 7 cheese pizza was a little too greasy and the Nashville chicken was a tad bit overfried in my opinion. The waffle fries that came with the burger was just as good as the loaded ones. They were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, my perfect kind of fry!

Really happy with our experience at Three Bears. Hugely busy, so glad we got a reservation! The beer was wonderful, and the environment was perfect. We got a chicken sandwich and a pizza to split. The chicken sandwich was great, and the pizza was quite tasty, too. We did wish the cheese had been marbled a bit more at a higher temperature, but no real complaints. Definitely recommended!

Got the Elk and Kale pizza, fish and chips, and tuna sandwich as well as a salad (pictured) for 3 people. The portions here are HUGE. Realistically we only needed to order 2 entrees. I think the fish in the fish and chips was a bit dry but everything else was stellar. The elk was not gamey at all. The tuna sandwich also was filled with so much meat. Great value!

Our server was very friendly albeit a bit frazzled, but the vibes were great all around. One of the best things about Banff Ave Brewing is that all appetizers are half off on Fridays (at least during happy hour)! They also have a nice selection of beers. Their flights are neat in that they offer 6 options instead of the more typical 4, so you can try everything you want to try. We had the nachos, poutine, and several beers. The poutine was a bit salty but the nachos were excellent, definitely get the beer cheese sauce as an add-on. I also got to try a special dragonfruit kolsch they had on tap, which was really mild and easy drinking as well. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Banff again!

Admittedly, I'm not much of a drinker but I'll have some once in a while and Bear Street seems to have a pretty good selection. I tried a Vietnamese Coffee Stout which I enjoyed. I'm definitely more of an eater than I am a drinker and the eats at Bear Street Tavern are excellent. My party got 2 pizzas and a salad and we enjoyed it all. To start we got the Tavern Bowl. It's a bunch of different vegetables with a Tahini Miso Dressing and kimchi on top. All the different textures and flavors worked really well together and the salad served as a nice break between bites of pizza. The Wheeler Hut pizza has mushrooms, ricotta, truffle oil, pesto, and mozzarella. If you're a fan of truffle flavor you'll enjoy this pizza. As soon as it was brought out I could already smell the truffle. The Mediterranean has olives, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, red onions, chili flakes, spinach, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. A little busier than the Wheeler Hut, but it was equally delicious. I'm not sure which pizza I liked more. Both pizzas had a fantastic crust with some char. Substantial enough to stand up to the toppings but still a little doughy for a nice chew. The char gives a nice crunch as well. Service is quick and friendly and the prices are fair, especially in a tourist area. I definitely recommend Bear Street Tavern.
