A piece of the beet cheesecake.

WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO 25 Kootenay Meadows nostrala cheese, grilled artichoke, fried sage, vincotto -"pretty good" MOUNTAIN GATHER BOARD 55 bresaola, smoked duck breast, salumi, marinated olives, house pickles, flatbread, cauliflower hummus, wild mushroom dip, smoked cheddar, Sylvan Star truffled gouda (for 2 or more) -I wasn't very hungry for this meal, so I ordered this. I'm not sure what all of it was, I mostly just ate it (and shared with everyone at the table). BEETROOT CHEESECAKE 12 wine poached pear, hibiscus short bread crust, blackberry foam -It seemed interesting on the menu. I don't think the blackberry foam was impressive. It mostly tasted like beet and I didn't like the texture too much. The food was pretty good and on par with the Juniper. Such was the formation of my first impressions of Alberta. It was the first day of our waitress, so I guess I can cut her some slack. However, I wish there were some blinds that could come down as the sun was in my eyes for most of the meal. I was so thankful when the sun set behind the mountains. Thank goodness for mountains.

We came here for our first meal in Banff since we stayed at the Otter Hotel, and what a first meal it was! The food here is spectacular, and I don't say that lightly. We had the Mussels, the bison burger and the Hokkaido scallops and pork belly. Everything was fresh, had great ingredients and tasted amazing. The star of the show without question was the mussels. It was a dish with wow factor for sure. The Thai soup base was great and the portion was huge. We got so many mussels! Hats off for the great service here as well. We got great recommendations and even a pro tip to throw some fries in the mussel soup. The restaurant was very clean and had an upscale feel to it as well. A really great experience to start off our trip!

Ate here our last night and the food was absolutely define. We had the Mussels (with fries, of course) and the Wild Boar - both were fantastic. Portions are generous and our server was fantastic. The food did take awhile to arrive but it was delicious. *also ordered a bison burger as take out another night and it was very flavorful and generous portioned.

Really enjoyed our meal at Good Folk, the food and drinks were excellent and had a lot of unique options . The Mediterranean hummus, pita, and cauliflower appetizer was the favorite. The bison burger was decent too. The only downside was the service, our server never mentioned the specials to us, even though we heard him list them for other tables nearby. They sounded good so we were disappointed we didn't get that option. Still, the food and atmosphere made it worth the visit, and I'd definitely come back.

Opened on Dec 13, 2024, this newcomer is killing it with 5-star cuisine. The mussels in a Thai curry broth, and the burrata with charred cauliflower are must try appetizers. The table also enjoyed the salad nicoise, bison burger, scallops, and sable fish. The tartare was a bit too earthy for our liking. The restaurant is gorgeous. Free parking in the garage!

Delicious food and great ambiance. A first rate new hotel and restaurant. I got an opportunity to try my first bison burger. Wow...so tasty and juicy. Every bite was satisfying. My wife's wild mushroom risotto was also a winner.

Not a family member or owner here, because I always think that with high praise early reviews of a new establishment. The food choices are very creative and not simply grilled or boiled and plated. Flavors were very well planed and complimentary. Service was well informed and helpful. Not in a huge hurry to move you along. Not white tablecloth, but very well planned. The lighting could use a bit more, but it is very calming with nice background music. Deserts were creative as well. Not overly sweet, and nice flavor combinations. A well stocked bar, and good wine list makes for great paring.

Okay this is THE spot in Banff. We visited Good Folk twice while we were in town and had the most amazing dinner both times. The service is incredible - the waiters asked us how our first couple bites were within minutes of our meals arriving to the table, which was so impressive. They even recognized us when we came back for a second time, which was so kind! All of the dishes were delightful - I definitely recommend trying the winter margarita, beets appetizer, and the bucatini!!

We had a wonderful experience at Good Folk, so much so that we had breakfast here twice. The Good Folk is inside the Otter Hotel and is easily accessible via the lobby. The restaurant has a masculine feel to it, and is very cozy with a large fireplace dominating the entrance. The coffee at the restaurant was the best in Banff. My friend especially loved the maple latte (which was made with real maple syrup). I ordered the Good Folk breakfast with eggs, rosti, sourdough and wild boar chorizo. The meal was very filling, and exactly what was needed before a long hike. The service at the Good Folk is great - the servers were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Would definitely recommend!

Great service and ambience! The wild boar was to die for! The mushroom, lentil stuff that comes with it sounds weird, but it worked! One of the best meals I had during the trip!

Our favorite breakfast in Banff! The menu had a few fun spin on originals, I don't know what they do to the potatoes, but they were so good. There was a decent crowd in there, but the staff was hustling.

Service was great! Very attentive but not intrusive. Food was delivered fresh by cooks and they provided the ingredients for the platter! Tables were pretty available, if you didn't make a reservation but this was a weekday, Monday! It's very relaxed and quiet with a little upscale feel. I would totally recommend.

I'm traveling with my wife and two friends. We checked in at the Otter Hotel late and decided to just eat dinner here. Great decision! The bartenders were all very friendly, the drinks were well-made, our waitress was very attentive and the food arrived at just the right speed. My wife ordered the Sablefish dinner, one friend ordered the Pesto Bucatini dish, and my other friend and I had the Wild Boar. Everyone loved their meals. We also had two appetizer dishes: Bresaola Wrapped Prawns and the Burrata. Again, they were both delicious.

One roll had perfectly grilled pieces on top with avocado that added a nice smoky flavor, while the other had a great crunchy texture that balanced everything out really well. I also ordered what I believe was a matcha drink, and it paired perfectly with the meal. It was smooth, refreshing, and a nice contrast to the richness of the sushi. Everything tasted high quality and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the whole place had a great vibe. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in Banff and craving good sushi and a solid matcha drink. Service was great. But a little slow

Karaoke rooms available for large groups with high minimum spends. However, when it comes to the food, I've got issues. The happy hour menu boasts several discounted (half price) sushi rolls, which sound great. However, in execution, they are flooded with mayonnaise (not included in the menu's ingredients). This adds so much extra salt and oil to the sushi that it drowns out the true flavor of the fish. For the first time in my life, I couldn't finish my sushi, and I had no desire to eat any leftovers. Also, reservations are not required, but they definitely help (and require a credit card reservation). If you show up for happy hour, get there early, becasue the space fills up fast!
