Before setting out to go hiking in Banff, I wanted to carb load up and decided to give this place a try. It's located in the main center of Canmore and has a very small parking lot, maybe 2-3 cars at the most though there is street parking available as well. The establishment is cozy and warm, giving off a homey vibe. You'll have to order up front, then they'll bring you your order when it's ready. They do have water you can grab for yourself to the side as well. I had decided on the Hangover with a Chai latte, while my cousin decided on a frittata. The food came out fairly fast and was surprisingly filling! Even after hiking all morning, we were both still feeling pretty satisfied, so def try out this place for a quick pick-me-up before going out on your adventure. To the side is their lunch offerings which are heartier wraps and sandwiches. They have a small pastry case which has a couple different types of squares, bars and cinnamon buns (only on Saturday). - Biscuits ($0.95) and chewy cookie ($0.60) - we mainly came here to grab after ski drinks (aka. coffee) before heading back home but tried a couple baked goods. The biscuit was dry and tasteless but the chewy cookie was better. I've been here a previous time where we ordered a couple of breakfast wraps before hitting the slopes and wasn't impressed at all. The portions are meager and I remember my hangover wrap ($7.20) as being 90% scrambled egg and tasteless. I took out half the egg and was left with a laughable amount of ingredients. People seem to love this place though as there's been a mini lineup both times that I've visited. If you want to carb load up, then this place is perfect. Exactly what I wanted from a cafe. Great wraps and espresso drinks made correctly and well. The avocado in the middle of the sunrise wrap really tied it together. Their espresso is sweet and really palatable, not bitter or overly tangy at all. I called ahead to ask about allergy information and they were very accommodating. read more

Harvest came highly,highly recommended to me from my travel buddy, Sheila. We stopped in at Harvest in hopes to have what Sheila quipped one of their amazing cinnamon buns. It turns out that these cinnamon buns are only served on Saturdays, and locals make a special trip to grab one before they are gone. We were travelling through on Easter's Good Friday on our way to Jasper, and stopped in to grab a coffee to go. And... they had them.... With it being Good Friday, they decided to throw their customer's a bone, and when Sheila and I got there, there were only half a dozen left. So we grabbed two. As we were grabbing our coffees, the woman behind us was ordering two as well. Nice. The cinnamon bun obviously was fresh out of the oven. What a I loved about it, was it was not too sweet, and it had rolled diced apples in it. The icing was amazing as well. It was about 5 minutes of heaven before that cinnamon bun was GONE! Since we were passing through and were in cinnamin bun mode, we did not have lunch there. However, the menu looked healthy and delicious, with many gluten free and vegetarian options. I will definately plan on coming through for lunch then next time I am through. The cinnamin buns... definately stop and make the trip. You will be glad you did. read more

I ordered the sunrise wrap without fresh mango salsa and substituted it with sundried tomato mayo and it was an excellent breakfast. Portions were great. We were looking for a place to eat lunch this past Saturday, and checked my Yelp app. I searched and came across a place called Crazy Weed. That place was super busy, and so we went to Iron Goat. The Iron Goat was closed for a private function. My wife looked up a soup and sandwich type restaurant, and came up with Harvest. It wasn't super busy when we arrived, around 12:20 and we ordered our lunches. Its a small place with wooden tables and chairs, with an upper and lower seating area and outdoor patio. I had the chicken curry wrap with soup (squash), my wife had the tomato and basil with the same squash soup. My son had the clubhouse, and my other son had a kids grilled cheese. The kids meal comes with a cookie and a drink. All the sandwiches and wraps are grilled on a panini press and were pretty tasty. I thought the soup was going to be creamier, but it was almost more like a broth. I ended my meal with a piece of carrot cake which was pretty tasty. This all for about $50 dollars. It's a little pricey IMO for what you get. The restaurant got busy after we sat down, and it took a while for the food to come out as well. Overall the food was tasty, but the soups were a little disappointing. Not much substance, and the it was served luke warm. *will try Crazy weed next time in town. Will I go back ? It wasn't the most exciting sandwich but the cranberry mayo added some flavor. The Harvest BLT, served on Bella Crusta focaccia bread (from a local shop), was delicious! I would go back again just to have that sandwich. The sandwich prices listed on the board include a cup of soup. You can order a la carte for $2 less or add a salad for $1.35 extra. The menu is scrawled across a chalkboard, the water is self serve from glass jugs, so you're probably feeling kind of hipster by the time you sit down. But what the place has in ambience, it lacks in food. The sandwiches are good, don't get me wrong but, shall we say, ordinary. Like "here's a panini, it's got some meat, and other than a fancy name and some expensive mayo, you could have made it at home. $12 please." Not a bad stop. But for what you pay, not my favourite. 4/17/2016 I really wanted to like this cafe, but it fell short of my expectations. The food is good, I will give them that, but the few times I've been the service wasn't great. For example, they served my mocha with sticky syrup and milk spilled over the edge, so I didn't even want to pick up the mug. Plus they have weird hours, closing right around the time most people seek out a coffee break in the afternoon. 1/21/2017 Decided to give Harvest another try over the lunch hour on a Saturday. Their carrot cake didn't disappoint, and it was nice and cozy to sit inside in the sunshine, but I still think I'm going to stick with other cafes in town. When I ordered a mocha with skim milk, the server said "we can't do that" and then stared at me blankly with no further explanation. When I asked why not, she said they only use chocolate milk and don't have chocolate syrup or cocoa powder. Although we were there during official breakfast time, the staff was accommodating and made us a lunch sandwich for our trip. We got the chicken and brie sandwich and were impressed by the flavors. So impressed that we stopped by on our second trip through town a few days later. This time we tried a foccacia sandwich and a fresh, soft ginger cookie. We're pretty much out of the butternut squash but I can try. What! Didn't even offer another soup or a refund, we had to suggest to him that he bring us another kind. The descriptions of the dishes are all amazing and then somehow the flavours don't quite come through. Harvest is the common cafe style wrap and sandwich with soup restaurant. With that comes your common wraps, sandwiches, and soups. They do add some individuality with their meat and sauce pairings but overall its a very generic place. Taste wise the food is decent and worth going if you just need a quick bite to eat during the day. read more
