We came here for breakfast and coffee in lieu of going on a hike. We got Danoise salée (savory croissant pastry with tomato and smoked Cheddar cheese), almond croissant, gateau a l'orange (orange cake with Earl grey whipped cream), and a cappuccino -- everything was delicious. It was obvious that care was taken to ensure the best pastries, as every bite had a good balance of flavor and texture. We were happy with our decision to miss a hike.

Found this bakery place near the hotel. Really wanted to try various bread options, but was told they were short on staff so a lot of the bread could not be made. I tried their Epi, and it was absolutely amazing! It was soft and chewy. I love just simply tasting the aroma of the bread and pairing it with black coffee. Really recommend it on trying the baguette and Epi right away. The fresh bread is unbelievably delicious. Their coffee is not the best in town, but it's still good enough. It is not bold (kind of light) and low in acidic taste. I wish I could have tried their other stuff (bread and sandwiches). They are busy in the morning, but the line for paying is very quick. HOWEVER, the wait time for drinks is extremely long! The barista is super slow and unprofessional, luckily another worker helped out with the drinks. Overall, the staffs are welcoming and friendly. The store has tables and seats, so it is a great place for breakfast or a quick meal. The parking lot was under construction when we visited back in September, so parking was a big issue.

Holy cow. I will be dreaming of this place. This is the delicious part of Paris but with amazing, friendly people. Everyone here either speaks a native English or a beautifully-accented one. They are welcoming, warm, and knowledgeable. All of the pastries are delicious. Yes, I have tried them *all*. Additionally, of the 3 days we stayed in Canmore, I came here every day. Every. Single. Day. Here are my favorites: - Favorite sweet pastry: Almond chocolate croissant. I love the almond with chocolate together, and like with any other pastry here, the croissants are flaky with a thousand layers. The corners are my favorite. They crunch in your mouth into a million flakes, but with the almond croissants, you get an additionally chocolatey, almond paste goodness. Gah. I want this in the US. Please come. All of the pastries are delicious, but this is my favorite. - Favorite savory item: Ham and butter sandwich. Very simple but oh so good. The baguette for every sandwich is fresh, crunchy, and delicious. But this is my absolute favorite because of how much butter they add. It's creamy and flavorful, paired with a well seasoned ham. I gotta say -- I don't normally like ham all that much, so this is huge for me. The vegetarian and turkey sandwiches are also delicious! Honestly, you can't go wrong with any item here. Just close your eyes and point randomly. Lovely people, tasty food, ahhhhhhhhh. The bakery itself is a dainty small shop right on the road. Due to construction in the area, navigating to the bakery is slightly challenging: As you're driving by, just take any available turn off of the main Canmore road -- most of the turns are all connected a block over. *For those of you from the bay area in California, Arsicault is the closest you'll get.

Amazing pastries! My Calgary foodie friend swears this is the best he's had in all of Canada. And this is definitely better than some I've had in Paris. Wonderful lamination in the pastries. Especially loved the almost croissant and the pesto tomato pastry. Flavors are explosive. The blueberry and raspberry pastries were both wonderful too. I especially loved the twisted and sugar glazed pastry of the blueberry -- it made it really extra crisp on the outside. And I loved loved the raspberry filling.

Very delicious almond-chocolate croissant and hot chocolate. Staff was kind! Must try in Canmore!

We got a mocha and a pistachio pastry for a quick snack one evening at Le Fournil. Beautiful cafe, friendly staff and quick service. The pastries were fresh and reminded me of a warm summer day in France.

Great spot with yummy pastries and coffee! They have counter/window seating inside and a small patio outside which is perfect to enjoy breakfast and enjoy the view of the Rockies. We tried the chocolatine aux amandes (chocolate and almond) and framboise (raspberry) pastries and were not disappointed! Service was super nice and quick and if you don't stay at a nearby place they validate 1hour parking.

A must visit in Canmore for breakfast, coffee or lunch sandwiches. All of the baked goods are so fresh and delicious. We tried a lot of stuff and none disappointed. There are few chairs to sit inside but not for huge groups. Highly recommend to go check them out if you are in town!

4/5 for pastries - the bakery here had really solid delicious croissants that were perfect for a morning snack. I really enjoyed the pesto tomato and their almond croissant. It was super flaky and tasty. 2/5 for coffee - I picked up a latte and cappuccino. It was disappointing in my opinion and I recommend going to a nearby coffee shop instead. You could tell that the item was just an add on sale rather than an item they cared about making. The beans were mediocre and the balance between the milk and coffee didn't mesh well. Overall rounding up to a 4 since pastries are their go to and I would stop by again if I was in the area.

I am so sad I didn't come here everyday while in Canmore! We stopped by on our last day here and was absolutely blown away by the pastries. We got a few to share - a pistachio cake, chocolate cake, lemon curd tart, and pain au fromage. The cakes were SO delicate and like a warm flavor blanket for your palette. The mirror glazing on them were so impressive. The pain au fromage had a shell that shattered as I bit into the buttery layers. Even the butterfly packaging on the cakes were a delight. The coffees were also delicious. Highly recommend stopping by!

We had the dessert on the left and it was heaven! Could've had more & more. High quality. Good prices. Also enjoyed their blueberry pastry.

A true gem in town. Friendly staff, good prices, & relaxing atmosphere. Quality ingredients & taste. Wish I could take it all back with me to Texas!!

Dropped by Le Fournil on the day of our departure from Banff albeit it was just across our airbnb. Such a shame that we weren't able to try them early on during our trip. Their pastries were deliciously flakey and buttery. We had an assortment of danishes and croissants and everything was so good! We will definitely drop by more often when we go back to Canmore again.

The almond croissants were super flaky, fresh and crispy. The frangipani was tasty. The babka we got was not quite as soft and sweet as I was expecting. Hope in the future they'll open their dine- in cafe again.

He and the excellent Chicago hot wings make Fergus & Bix worth more than one late night Happy Hour visit. The wings are marinaded, fried, dipped then baked - perfect. I'm a little beer snobby, but my spouse says the in-house Wooden Ship beers are good. Great place to watch sports too. Lots of TVs but not too intrusive if you're not interested. Ambiance is warm and relaxed. Happy Hour offers some nice choices, and is twice per day every day as is the norm in this tourist town. Definitely recommended for folks who want a pleasant adult atmosphere. You also avoid excessively intoxicated and rowdy revellers. They're over at the corner of Rose & Crown and Drake.

Upon arrival, we were provided with a liquor menu but not a full food menu, and were directed to order from the happy hour menu. This created a bit of confusion at first, but we made the best of it. We ordered the Beer Board, which included a selection of sausages, Italian meats, cheeses, and pretzel bread. It was well put together, with good variety and satisfying portions--great for a late-night bite. Overall, while the experience wasn't exceptional, it was a decent stop considering the circumstances. It served its purpose and provided a solid option when not much else was available. That said, the bar itself is pretty decent. Carries some ambiance --perhaps a place you'd hang out for a few drinks.

Beavertails came up and we saw they had shops within Banff, so we decided to try them out after our lunch. They had a flavor called "mEHple" and since maple syrup is also a Canada staple, we figured this would be a good pick. What we didn't notice was the chocolate drizzle that was on top of the maple syrup in the menu photo. The chocolate overwhelmed the entire dessert, and was a bit too much for our group. The pastry was good, crispy and flaky, but we really couldn't get through the entire thing without getting a huge bite of chocolate syrup. I think if they had put less chocolate, or even removed the chocolate altogether and just left the maple syrup, that would've been way better!

Since maple is also something that screams Canada, we opted for the mEHple flavor. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. The pastry itself was good as it was light and flaky but still crispy, and we enjoyed the maple flavor. However, there was so much chocolate drizzled onto it that all we could taste was the overwhelming Hershey's chocolate drizzle-like taste. We didn't notice the chocolate drizzle on the menu photo, although I noticed there are a few different menus floating around, and some show the chocolate drizzle while others don't. However I saw a photo uploaded from a different Yelper of their mEHple pastry, and they had way less chocolate on theirs. I think it had to potential to be delicious, but it's just unfortunate that it was loaded with so much chocolate to the point where we couldn't really taste anything else. There were 6 of us that shared one BeaverTail and yet we couldn't even finish it. Overall, it was cool to try a uniquely Canadian dessert, but would recommend staying away from the ones with chocolate drizzle...or at least asking the staff to go light on the drizzle.
