We found this gem on Yelp and Google, 4.9 stars so we had to try it out. It's located in an industrial area but it's worth going to where the locals eat and tour companies get their baked goods. It's family owned. The husband is a chef, wife is a pastry chef. Everything is made from scratch. Every detail from the presentation to the home made English muffins are on point. The son takes your order and is very conversational. Unfortunately, we got there around 10, many of the baked goods are sold out. This is a hidden gem, great food, service and supports local farmers from the tea and coffee served to the flavor in the food. We stopped here for breakfast during our last day in Banff and it was the perfect reward after a week of early mornings and full days of hiking. The staff welcomed us from the moment we stepped in and explained that everything was made from scratch. Coffee was self serve. My boyfriend ordered a cinnamon bun and the hostess made sure to check if we'd like it heated up. While we enjoyed the gooey bun our main selections were being made. I ordered what was probably the best omelet I've ever had and my boyfriend ordered eggs on toast. Our potatoes were cooked to perfection, and my sourdough bread was topped with herbed butter. In short, exception detail paid to everything, food and service both - a delightful experience all around. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll remember this spot for sure! Their BF menu board only has 5 items WITHOUT price and you would never thought its a $24 for a piece of toast with half a avocado & 1 egg with some decorative veggies. 2 Eggs Benedict for $25. Coffee is more than tea. And you couldn't find their menu on Yelp either. I was dumbfounded to pay $65 for 2 small BF dishes . Lesson learned theres a reason why no price anywhere for you to find out afterwards. The owner was friendly but...I would never sit down to anywhere ever again if no prices on the item. You would never thought BF plate is the same as full meal dinner. It's very telling now that I remember you asked each table ( only 4 tables) where they're from. Local or tourist. It's very dishonest & why you don't display prices for your menu anywhere before they order. A-lot more BF restaurants in downtown Banff for half of what you're charging. This is a pure mom and pop local bakery cafe. It's off the beaten path. They have fresh baked goods and nice breakfast items. Not fancy but just delicious homemade like food. The breakfast potatoes are to die for. Lots of flavor with spices, crunchy yet fluffy and moist inside, fried with some cherry tomatoes for freshness, and topped with a nice arugula salad. Don't let the humble storefront fool you--this place is a hidden gem. I picked up a Danish pastry and a chocolate croissant for breakfast, and both were absolutely outstanding. They were huge, incredibly flaky, buttery, and as fresh as anything I've had from any bakery. Honestly, some of the best pastries I've ever eaten. Delicious and fresh! My husband loved the coffee. Sweet couple running the bakery. We got a butter croissant, chocolate croissant, and danish pastry. The custard was so smooth and the perfect sweetness. My kids devoured the croissants. Parents got a slight taste and it was nice and buttery and flaky. You can also substitute the biscuit for a toasted croissant for a charge. The eggs benedict can be on ham or smoked salmon and you can't go wrong with either. Zesty sauce, crispy seasoned potatoes, and a small fresh arugula spring mix complete the dish. Lastly, we also took some cold sandwiches to go and they were loaded+juicy. The staff is all one family and their hospitality makes you feel like an honorary member of the family. Came here with 10 people at 12pm and they immediately sat us down. The family that works there were really warm to us. They explained to us the menu and we ordered the avocado and smoked salmon benedict. Both were really good! My personal favorite is the avocado toast. I've tried a lot of avocado toast but I think this is the best one so far. The chef also explained that they didn't use yeast for the bread so it took them 2 days to make it. I can see that they are very passionate on what they do and they really thought about their dishes carefully. Really recommend this restaurant! read more

The couple who own and run this place are so delightful and go out of their way to accommodate requests you might have. In addition to what we ate there, we bought macaroons and the next time a muffin and a Peyot Protein Bar. Everything was excellent. Wow, what a find! Thank you Yelp for leading us to this place. This is a tiny (4-5 tables inside) joint that's only open for breakfast and lunch in the middle of Banff's industrial area. There are two or three parking spots in front, otherwise park on the street and walk on in. The ambiance is very functional but the husband and wife who are the chefs/cooks will greet you warmly and tell you the handful of options they have for breakfast and lunch.
