Upon entering the inside was very cozy and felt like a wood cabin and there was not too long of a wait. We decided to get an iced mocha and add hazelnut syrup to it. This was really unique as they have an entire board of syrups that you are able to add ranging from caramel to Irish cream. While we were in Banff, we were looking for a place to get some coffee and stumbled upon Good Earth Coffeehouse. The wait wasn't too long and we had a bus that was coming soon so we quickly placed our orders inside. The decor inside is cozy with some places to sit, so it seems like a nice place to chill. I decided to get an iced coffee with hazelnut syrup added to it, though they have a wide selection of syrups to choose from which I appreciated. They have ones like salted caramel, toffee, honey, irish cream, etc. so there are some interesting ones to choose from to add flavors to your drink. Cool little coffee shop right on Banff Avenue. It was a busy day as expected and I got a simple iced latte for an afternoon pick me up after spending the morning at the lake. The iced latte was pretty good and got the job done. I did taste what seemed to be vanilla in the latte which I wasn't expecting since I didn't order a vanilla latte. This was the closest coffee shop to my hotel and did the job. It is an inviting space and while I got my order to-go, noticed that there was plenty of seating and not too full in the morning before breakfast time around 7am. There is also seating outside with a firepit for those brave enough to encounter the elements. The staff welcomed me and the menu and pastries were clear and conspicuous. I got a chocolate danish and a plain croissant. They weren't heated at all so that was not a factor when I consumed them minutes later back at my hotel. The danish was a good size and different as it had chocolate swirled throughout, but would have been better had there been more chocolate. The croissant was fluffy and flakey, and also a decent size. I had to head to Lake Louise Ski Resort early in the morning and Good Earth was the only coffee shop I could find that was open at 7 AM as I left the hotel. I needed a jolt of caffeine and I really only drink lattes. I ordered an iced one with a pump of English Toffee syrup. It was the right amount of sweetness, creaminess, and coffee flavor. LOVED the coffee here. What I really loved was that you could order a Frappuccino dairy free!!! I got a decaf mocha Frappuccino with oatmilk and it was delicious! My friend ordered the banana oat Frappuccino and didn't care for it but another day he got an iced mocha with SF hazelnut and caramel and loved it. There was also an asian employee who we watched bare hand multiple pastries while she was setting up the case and putting them into the warmer. no gloves or tongs were used by her- i watched the other male employee continuously use the tongs, it was just her. Absolutely disgusting because we watched her fix her hair and even go into the back and prep some type of berry product and not wash her and come back up to the front and go back to bare handing the pastries. this place needs higher standards!! read more

I really liked this little shop - it was my favorite in the town of Banff and it gets really crowded which tells you they're probably doing something right. They have several breakfast sandwiches and then to-go sandwiches you can take with you on a hike in the parks or exploring, as well as tons of baked goodies like cookies, muffins, scones, etc. We went with a breakfast min-quiche, a ham egg and cheese sandwich, a chocolate banana bread and a coffee walnut muffin. All were good. It took a bit to get our food but it was delicious and warm when it came out and we enjoyed sitting in the bustling shop and people-watching and eating. Great place for a soup and sandwich! I tried the fire roasted tomato with cheddar soup and a tuna sandwich with cheese, tomato, and lettuce. The bread on the sandwich was fresh and nicely toasted. Good morning Banff! Perfect spot because it's just right off the gift shop on my hotel. I didn't have to brave the cold or anything to have some decent light brefix. So I walk up,, bark my order and a dark roast FTW. Breakfast Panini With Bacon: The bread, the egg, tomatoes and bacon is just sublime. I can eat this all the time. Which in fact, had it again the next day before hitting the slopes of Lake Louise. The setting is super perfect. Overlooks the skating rink and the mountains. It's well lit with natural lighting. Although I didn't get any food, I did get hot drinks on a couple different occasions and really enjoyed the coffee beans they used. For all those non dairy milk people like me, they have almond and oat milk options but it costs an extra $1.00. I am used to only paying $0.25-$0.60 for an oat milk substitute so I thought that was quite pricey. On top of that, I was not a fan of their oat milk they use. It was extremely nutty and oily tasting :( The BEST part about this place is their beautiful outdoor seating area! They have a portable fire place on their patio and it's the most perfect place to sit around with a hot drink. I had my best latte in Banff at Good Earth. It had an immaculate rich and smooth texture. The latte art was also top notch. There was a minor flaw with the slightest hint of bitterness at top. Otherwise, the latte was perfect. I also went back for a second time. There was a different barista. The latte was not as good. There was more bitterness and the texture was not as thick. In addition, there was no attempt at latte art. Nonetheless, the substance of the drink was there. Consequently, my two lattes at Good Earth were excellent and very good.
