this.... was not good at all... this place was located in the mall and we were exploring while trying to get souvenirs so we stopped by. it seemed like a normal cafe and the atmosphere didn't stand out too much. strawberry rose foam matcha latte: 0/10 - the rose tasted so fake and artificial. would not get again i struggled to finish it. the cashier said very nice and said 'i usually don't like matcha but i got obsessed with this drink and can't stop' so i was convinced but wished i got something else or the regular matcha. read more

Just fine! Nothing incredible but it did the trick just fine for fuel on a Friday morning. The peppermint mocha I had was quite nice, not overly sweet or peppermint-y, and the espresso was nice and smooth. I also got a white chocolate, berry scone and it was pretty dry. I don't know if it was just a little old (although it was a morning soooo....) or if that's just the way they are but either way it wasn't my favorite. I'd skip those next time for sure. The schwag, packaging, cup designs, etc, were actually pretty adorable. I considered buying a travel mug because they were so cute and Christmasy, but I have more than enough already at home so I skipped it. The baristas here were really friendly and efficient. I was in a bit of a hurry and they got my drink and sent me on my way cheerfully and quickly. I wasn't in a hurry to get back here and found better coffee in Banff, but if this was the only option in my area I wouldn't have a problem heading back here at all. read more

Second Cup was advertising for a free tea or coffee with a purchase of one of their cake slices. It felt a little overpriced considering the cake is $6, but when you factor in the fact that it comes with a drink, $6 for both is not bad. I got a slice of the carrot cake upon the cashier's suggestion... and it was phenomenal. I thought it was truly worth the $6. It was super moist, the frosting was thick but still creamy, and the cake was divided in half by more frosting. The hot water was WAY too hot to not have a sleeve, so I asked for a second cup. read more

Fresh and delicious Raspberry and Dark Chocolate Muffin and light Orange Cranberry Loaf hit the spot. The Vanilla Bean Latte was too sweet so next time I will ask for 1/2 Vanilla. The locale is off the mall And not too inviting so it gets 4 stars instead of 5. read more

Popped in here to grab a sandwich for the airport ride and to rest a bit before facing the cold weather. Second Cup is located inside the Cascades Mall. It was a little busy as it was Boxing Day, but we found a small table for the 2 of us. Free wifi was great for us travelers and the photographs of the bears were lovely. I enjoyed my egg white spinach on naan sandwich on my flight. It was fresh and didn't give me a stomach ache. Ladies here were nice though they forgot to make my husband's cold brew. It makes a great pit stop to get your hot or cold beverage or snack fix. read more

Although I am not a big fan of Second Cup coffee I frequented this location because of its easy street and inside mall access. Usually, it was grabbing a quick coffee between appointments. Seating was always quick and easy. Service was always quick. Staff were very helpful and friendly which was another reason I ducked in here and usually grabbed a snack item cookie, muffin, dessert, etc. The food was always good so no complaints here. Had a non-fat vanilla latte with an extra shot (or in Starbucks terms- a double tall, skinny vanilla latte). Yes, I'm usually a Starbucks junkie, but wanted to try the local coffee and The Second Cup was good. It was starting to get a little cold and so this hit the spot just right. My friend ordered a small chai latte.....guess I should've warned him it was going to be really sweet....and I don't care for too sweet.....his drink was tossed barely 1/3 of the way down. My latte was only warm. Tables inside needed to be wiped down. Fortunately there is plenty of seating inside the mall. Staff were friendly. There are definitely other places where you can get a good latte. Like Good Earth across the street. read more

You will find Second Cup inside the Cascades shop mall Entrance is by Wolf Street even if the address indicates Banff Avenue. There is parking street nearby. Nice place that's within a stone's throw of Starbucks, which is actually why I can't rate this place any higher. When you're an independent coffee shop literally in the shadow of the world's premier coffee brand, there are a few things that are non-negotiables. If you can't beat Starbucks on decor, you can do something different and do it better. Second Cup has a hometown vibe which I like, but here's the deal... I had a hard time finding a place to sit that didn't need a good wipe-down or a ride to the dumpster. Many seats are torn or used and abused to the point of needing to be replaced. On top of that, the floor was dirty. Some call that "shabby chic", but to me it came off as sloppy. All that said, the coffee was very good. But so is Starbucks and they definitely win in the look and feel department. Again, it's a good place, but you have to really try in order to draw people away from the big guys down the street and Second Cup just isn't doing that. read more

I was surprised by how good my experience here was. Without recent reviews, it can be hard to tell. The service was incredibly fast, but totally friendly and not rushed. There were four or five people ahead of me in line, and I had ordered within two minutes. My drink came maybe two minutes later. Second Cup has a whole menu of light, medium, and dark roasts, for those who are into that, but also a variety of sweet lattes and mochas. I had the caramel drink, and it was alright, as far as drinks go, but beautifully presented. There's also a huge variety of baked goods, and they all look fantastic. I ordered the zucchini chocolate chip muffin, and it was moist and incredibly delicious. Bummed I couldn't try every pastry they offered. Free, good wifi. Crowded and loud, but it just goes to show that the place is popular. It has an entrance from the street and from inside the mall. Fun place. read more

Look, I get it, an iced caramel americano with caramel SAUCE isn't a normal order in many places. But the way they spoke to me and to each other made me feel like I was asking for like an extremely complex order or something. The lady serving me game me a weird look and then rolled her eyes and told the barista "caramel SAUCE...yeah I don't know he wanted it, so..". Really wish I took my business elsewhere than be served with a bad attitude and bad service. Then they drizzled on like a very tiny bit of caramel sauce like not enough to taste the caramel. The store was not crowded at all, which was nice. When we walked in there were a few people seated and two people in line in front of us. There were three girls "working" behind the counter. Since there were very few customers, the girls were chatting. When someone would come up to the counter to order, the girls seemed irritated to have to stop their conversation to help the customer. It was pretty dirty in the store, which seemed odd because there were so few customers so it would seem that there was time for the three employees to clean a bit. There was trash, food and used cups on the tables, as well as crumbs and trash on the floor. I had a cappuccino and it was basically just an average cup of coffee (not a traditional cappuccino).
