Wanted to celebrate the last few days of the Lunar New Year with a nice Chinese meal and actually had plans for lunch at another restaurant in one of the large casinos. However, they were short staffed so their loss was my and Roasted Duck Noodles gain. I love their roast duck. Not greasy and love the Asian spice. Egg noodle soup is reminiscent of my youth with my grandparents. The lovely server is always friendly and so sweet. Always remembers her guests. Walnut shrimp appetizer was so good. Large shrimp. Be back soon!

This place is fairly new, small, there's about 8 tables in the dining area. We arrived at about 6:15 pm on a Saturday. There is 1 server/waitress/host. She was working hard to seat guests, take orders, serve food and clean tables. She took a minute to get our order. We ordered 1/4 Cantonese style duck,1/2 Peking duck, mixed vegetables with oyster sauce, pot stickers,2 sides- walnut shrimp and BBQ pork slices,we wanted to try a little of everything. All was very good! I highly recommend this place if you need like to eat duck. Rice is sold separate with these dishes.

Ok, in some cases you just really want to give six stars! It's kind of like getting that Michelin extra star. We are so happy with our visit here. As a history, Peking duck is a dish I've enjoyed all over the world. From the Guangzhou District China, Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok, San Francisco Area to Chinatown in LA. Once having children, I was no longer able to travel to exotic places, so I pretty much stopped eating it. They were a few places here in Reno that attempted this dish, however, either the skin wasn't crispy enough, or it was roasted duck, and they said ' it's pretty much the same' which is something only a person that doesn't eat Peking Duck would say, lol. A couple of places here in Reno that serve roasted duck, started out strong and were quite delicious, however overtime suddenly we were being served three day old duck. Or ducks that have been kept in the freezer for one to two months and then thawed out. You can always tell when chicken or duck is day old (or older ) disappointment after disappointment, I just stopped getting duck at restaurants and would only prepare it at home for New Year's dinner. I follow enough people on yelp, I saw a great review of this restaurant and thought what the heck ... might as well give it a go. It was absolute perfection. What we ordered: 1/4 Cantonese roast duck 1/2 Peking duck Shrimp and walnut Barbecued pork Steamed vegetable with hoisin sauce Fried potstickers The restaurant was quite packed. But there is two tables available for two people. The waitress greeted us, as she was passing by told us to grab a table. She was busy. Very busy. I told the server right off we were going to order a lot of food . There were only two of us, but I really wanted to try a little bit of everything. After ordering the two ducks and the vegetables I told her I wanted to add on some barbecue pork and walnut shrimp. Jen informed me those are normally just extensions of those dishes when you want to add a little more, however, she would accommodate us and let us have two shrimp and walnut ($5) and add on pork. The Peking duck had perfectly crispy skin and the duck was juicy. The Cantonese duck was almost just as crispy and delicious. Everything was so delicious, and the waitress was super nice. We had to start boxing stuff as we were finishing just to make room for all the dishes on the tiny table. And what are the best features of the whole night? $78 for all of the food. That was just amazing. I think there's a total of 22 seats in the sparse but cute restaurant. As we were eating, a line started to form. Great price, perfect duck, the only thing I would change is add alcohol to the menu... and maybe increase the hours lol. Most days they close by 3 PM. I want my duck now! Hhhah

Popped into the SPCA Thrift Store, and noticed this little restaurant nearby. Dropped in hoping for something quick to take out, but thought given the name, I should probably order the duck! Ordered a half Peking Duck, and was a little tight on time, but the extremely professional, polite, and helpful cashier not only promised me it would it be 15-20 minutes, but then did it in a little over 10! Love when service overdelivers. Now, the duck... So, Chinese roast duck is often not a thing for the uninitiated. There are bones and fat under the crispy skin, and I would usually pick out the easiest pieces for newbies to eat. This is the first place I've been to that fully cleans up the duck meat, and not only was it super easy to eat, it was not greasy but beyond tender and full of flavor. They know how to cook and serve duck! Duck sauce, cucumbers, and pancakes (not baos, fyi) were also fresh and delicious. Duck skin wasn't super crispy, but that could be because of the drive home. Menu had a few things crossed off, and no sweets or desserts, but I will definitely have to come back and try the noodles.

I was looking for something other than the normal Casino food for my family and was excited to have found the Roasted Duck Noodles. We had the shredded roasted duck meat with scallion oil noodle and Peking Duck which came with pancakes, cucumber, and spring onion. The duck was tender, wasn't oily, not overly seasoned, and there were no bones making it one of the best ducks I've ever had! It was so good we ordered more. The parking was easy. There aren't that many tables so be ready to get the food to go. The employees were nice and checked on us frequently. There was upbeat music playing while we waited around 10 minutes for each dish.

We are back for our 2nd time. This restaurant is amazing and serves great food. Slightly small but very clean. I like that they clean the tables with disinfectant. The hostess/Server is so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I ordered the Wor Wonton and added egg noodles. My wife ordered Duck Rice. Both were delicious and are large portions. If you're looking for a great meal definitely put Roasted Duck Noodles in your plan

The duck here is deliciously spiced, perfectly sliced for your chopsticks, and comes in any manner of ways. I had mine with rice and vegetables and it was sumptuous. I also ordered delicious pork steamed buns. I didn't finish everything thank goodness. I'm gonna take home some for a snack later or maybe breakfast tomorrow hot. Highly recommend the only negative was that there was only one woman on staff for handling everything. She was super overworked, however everything was worth waiting for

Wow, SOO awesome to finally have something like this in Reno, the moment I found out about it I had to go and try it. Seems like I'm late to the party but I fully agree with the other 5 star reviews. Not only is the lady working the place extremely friendly but the food is great. We started with the Siu Mai and the Walnut Shrimp. Siu Mai is fantastic, and the walnut shrimp was cooked perfectly, there isn't chili oil or black vinegar on the tables and we totally spaced asking if they had any, but not necessarily the food was great. We then went with the Shredded Duck Lo Mein with an add on of BBQ Pork. The Duck was flavorful, moist, and the skin was crispy as can be. This is a killer lunch spot, can't wait to come back. Not too much seating inside, but we got lucky and got to sit down and enjoy.

If you're looking for the best duck... this is the place! I had the noodle soup with duck on the side -- absolutely the best. Great customer service, very friendly staff, and the place was very clean.

Was craving for some Chinese Noodle soup and found Roasted Duck Noodles listed on Yelp. The dining area is small and has 8 tables. Probably not the best for large groups. We mentioned that we found them on Yelp. Our server mentioned Roasted Duck Noodles had been open about a year. She was friendly and thanked us for stopping in. We started with 1/2 roasted duck. We were impressed. It was delicious and full of flavor. The pieces of duck were meaty. We thought the noodle soups were a bit flat and could have been more flavorful. The beef stewed noodle soup did not have any star anise flavor. The char siu noodle soup had about 3 or 4 pieces of char siu. In fairness, we are from the LA area so there is more competition to be the best. I inquired if they had flat rice noodles. I was disappointed when our server informed us they only offered egg noodles. However, the noodles had a nice texture.

I cannot, in good conscience, leave a positive review for Roasted Duck Noodles. I initially planned to visit this highly rated spot based on its strong reviews. When I walked in, one table was nearly finished eating. The place looked clean and presentable. The manager stopped by to ask the one table how their food was, and the woman at the table visibly grimaced, shook her head, and said, "Not good." The response caught me off guard. The manager briefly said "sorry" and walked away without any visible concern. The body language of her husband and the untouched food left on the table gave me serious pause about ordering. Despite my better judgment, I decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, especially given the number of five-star reviews from Elite Yelpers. I ordered the wonton noodle soup as a test before committing to anything else. Unfortunately, the dish was disappointing. The noodles were overcooked and mushy, the bok choy was acceptable, and the wontons had thick, doughy skins with bland, underwhelming fillings. After only two bites, I knew I wouldn't be finishing the bowl--$16 instantly regretted. What stood out most was that the manager appeared to notice the nearly untouched bowl but never asked how the food was or attempted to address the issue. I quietly paid and left, feeling disappointed by both the food and the lack of care or follow-up.

My foodie friend and I learned about this place so I thought we'd go check it out. We heard "dim sum" and we ran! It is a very small, but intimate place. It felt cozy (probably because the place was small). Service was amazing! Staff was very friendly and welcomed us in with open arms. We were a bit disappointed to find that they only had 3 dim sum options, but we ordered the BBQ pork buns and minced shrimp and Port shumai to share. My friend ordered wonton soup and I got roasted duck soup. They were good, however, I felt that the broth could use some flavor and my noodles were cook a tiny bit more. I did like that their food weren't overpowered by salt!

2nd visit 1/2 eaten Honey Walnut shrimp special 12.99

Roasted Duck Noodle, after 2 visits I have decided that this is my new go-to for perfectly crispy skin duck and had to write my review... I've been wanting to try this spot for a while because I love roasted duck. I make special trips to San Francisco Chinatown just for my duck fix but now I've found my spot! From the moment I walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. The server was so sweet and helpful, patiently walking me through the menu and making great suggestions. I ordered the mixed vegetables with oyster sauce (perfectly fresh and not overcooked), crispy pan-fried potstickers (they make them fresh in-house, best I've ever had!), and a whole Cantonese duck. I ate half there and took the rest home... and wow, that duck sauce! It's not your typical orange-sweet sauce, this tastes more like a rich roasted duck gravy. I poured some over my rice and the rest on the duck, absolute perfection. When I had first sat down, the server looked at my order and said, "Oh honey, you need a bigger table for all your food." She was right, I ended up at a big table with a full feast fit for a king just for me! The rice was cooked perfectly, the portions are huge, and my oolong tea tied it all together beautifully. I couldn't leave without grabbing a few things to go. I took the steamed BBQ pork buns, BBQ with scallion oil noodles, and beef stew with scallion oil lo mein -- everything was delicious, even reheated the next day. On my second visit with my friend, we tried the honey walnut shrimp as an appetizer, this was light and crispy and the Minced Shrimp and Pork Shumai (made fresh in house too) plus we ordered the whole Cantonese roasted duck! It was perfection again. Tip: If you plan to order a whole duck, definitely call ahead, they do sell out! The restaurant itself is cozy, clean, and simple, nothing fancy, just great food and friendly service. If you're a duck lover, this is the spot. Come hungry, come early, and don't skip the potstickers, Minced Shrimp and Pork Shumai or that incredible roasted duck gravy!

Pictured is half a duck. The other half came a bit later.

The portions were generous with plenty of leftovers to pack up in takeout boxes for enjoying for another day. My favorite three were the ahi tuna, the black cod and the brilliant asian/french mash up of red Bean Creme Brulee. I also need to mention, I loved the lamb tenderloin. I am not a big lamb fan, but this New Zealand lamb was tender and non-gamey. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining. The space is very small, but even with and almost full house, it didn't feel cramped. Even though Kwok's is right across the street from where I live, this restaurant would be at the top of my list of "I would drive out of my way to eat here"

To start, you can't go wrong with the enthusiastic welcome we always receive. Then quickly seated and wine poured. The 2026 CNY menu was fabulous, with some great surprises. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. Small inside seating area, so recommend always make a reservation. In the summer there's a fabulous patio area out front. Limited street parking.

In case you're not aware, though the name of this restaurant references a specific city in northern China and the menu has dishes from across the country, their specialty is the spicy and numbing cuisine of the Sichuan region. If you've never had this before, when you see dishes listed as spicy, they may be very different from what you're thinking. It's certainly can be a polarizing experience, with many loving this flavor and many not into it at all, but the broad menu makes this a great call for everyone. Now I love dining with others who are familiar because it lets you explore the menu through their eyes and enjoy selections made by others with taste diverse from yours. My friend picked several dishes I would've never noticed or ordered blindly this time, and I'm so happy about that. We enjoyed the cold Woodear or black fungus in chili oil, classic snow pea tips with garlic, as well as the quintessential Sichuan cumin lamb, but the other three dishes we had were 100% new to me. Those included Sichuan snails (unshelled in an oily spicy stir fry), scallops with garlic and vermicelli, and crispy spicy intestines. The snails were a win. These are small and somewhat chewy morsels that get wok fried with fried chili, chili oil, peppers and onions. The texture is similar to sautéed calamari, but a bit firmer, and the sauce coats everything with that signature numbing heat. The scallops were the big miss. This dish typically comes in the half shell with fresh scallops, but here they're using a lower quality scallop (likely frozen) and a lot of pre-minced garlic (like you'd find in a jar). It looks impressive but the scallops had absolutely not flavor and the texture was rubbery too. Skip this one for sure. The intestines were the surprise. I've had fried intestines and they crunch like a chip and have no distinct flavor that lets you know what you're eating. These were sliced on the bias and wok tossed until super crispy on the outside with a delicately chewy interior. The sauce really amplified the flavor and this all made for a great bite within the whole meal. All in all, this is a home run. If you haven't been, I urge you to check it out, as it's one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants around.

Tucked away in the back of an unassuming shopping mall is Chinese cuisine well worth making a trip for. I was immediately greeted when I entered, and started with some hot tea. I ended up ordering Garlic Cucumbers and Dry Stir Fried Pork Intestines. The cucumbers were light and refreshing with a punch of garlic. The intestines came out crispy and piled high with red fried chilis and szechuan peppercorns. I am a huge spice nut and this absolutely hit the spot! (If you have a low spice tolerance you may want to ask for less spicy as the server did not ask how spicy I wanted it). The cucumbers were the perfect accompaniment to balance the heat and numbing from the chilis. When I first looked at the menu, I thought the prices were a bit high. After seeing the enormous portion sizes, it all made perfect sense. There was easily enough for 2 full meals for me (245lb, 6ft3in man with an appetite). The portions are clearly designed to be shared. On that point they also feature traditional Chinese style banquet seating with the lazy suzan in the middle for family style eating. All told I was extremely impressed with the food quality, service, portion sizes and ambiance. I will absolutely be adding Shanghai Bistro to my regular rotation!

The banh xeo I'm giving a 6/10 because the it wasn't crispy but the meats was good and it was large. It came with lettuce and herbs. Shrimp and lobster sauce was good that was 8/10. The rainbow roll was 7.5/10.

The menu is humongous. Dim sum, Chinese, sushi, Vietnamese, with lots of choices from every part of the menu. I started with the crab Rangoon's, and they were very good. The filling was a little bit sweet, and a little bit savory, and the shell was well fried, crispy, and not oily at all. They were offering a BOGO on the combination plate, and so that's what I went for. I had the garlic chicken, and the chicken with seasonal. Veggies. On both dishes, the chicken was moist and tender. The veggies were done well. Just the right consistency, not mushy at all. The taste was great. The only thing I could say, was, the garlic chicken was a bit spicy. About medium on what I like for spice, you could definitely see the red pepper flakes on that food. Unfortunately, nowhere in the menu did it mention the spicy part of it. I did like it, and the spice was within what I like, but I think the next time I would order something else. The fried rice was very well done with a good flavor also. It was just the rice. It had no egg or veggies in it. I had enough for two meals on the first combo, and the second one went into my portable cooler, and is going home to Sacramento with me. For all I got, the price was extremely reasonable, even if I would've gotten only one combination. Thank you very much.

This place really stands out for both the quality of the food and the authenticity of the flavors. The dishes taste fresh and homemade, with the kind of balance of spice, sweetness, and flavor you expect from real Thai cooking, not watered-down versions. The curries are rich and flavorful, the noodle dishes are excellent, and the spice levels are done right if you like authentic heat. Our waitress Nid was great, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, and the service is friendly and welcoming. Overall, Moo Dang Reno is one of the best Thai food spots in Reno and definitely worth a visit if you enjoy authentic Thai cuisine.

I then had to fight to flag a waitress to ask for chili paste to get any heat in my entire dish. I like that there are veggies with it and the noodles have a good chew, but I've found zero dishes with anything near Thai spices here My partner got the pad thai, which was sickly sweet yet didn't taste like tamarind, fish sauce nor contain pickled veg. The wood ear in it was excellent, but I've never seen it in pad thai. The thai ice tea was good, maybe a bit heavy on sweetener. I don't understand the high ratings here, based pireh on food. Thai Chili has far better flavors, and is rated lower. The wait staff/food runners lacked politeness, and never checked if we enjoyed our food or needed anyone. Sans the person filling everyone's water, we were never checked on in any other capacity. The restaurant was a cacophony of noise and conversation, I had to lean across the booth to have any chance of hearing my companion. The noise level is overwhelming if you have sensory issues at all. The decor is pretty cool.

My wife knows how much I love Chinese food, so when she came across a TikTok review of Palais De…read moreJade, she asked if I had ever been. I hadn't, but I had definitely heard of it. We decided to make it our next date night spot. We went on a Friday around 5:30 and it wasn't very crowded yet. They asked if we preferred a table or a booth, and we went with a booth near the front. The restaurant itself is really nice, but I'll say the booth felt a little tight. Next time, we'll probably go with a table for a bit more space. The service was top notch. The staff was incredibly attentive, and our drinks were constantly refilled. Our glasses were never empty, which always stands out. About 15 minutes after we sat down, the place filled up fast. It seemed like most people coming in had reservations, so I'd definitely recommend making one if you're planning to go after 6 pm. We decided on the Shanghai Dinner. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, and my wife got the sweet and sour chicken. I was tempted by the cashew chicken and kung pao chicken, but we'll save those for next time. The appetizers were amazing. The meal comes with spring rolls, crab rangoon, paper wrapped chicken, and honey glazed BBQ spareribs. Everything was delicious. My wife loved the paper wrapped chicken, and for me, the ribs were the standout. They were tender with just the right hint of sweetness. Honestly, I could've eaten a full plate of just those and been happy. For sides, I had the egg flower soup, which was really flavorful, and my wife had the salad. She could not stop talking about how good the dressing was. Both the sweet and sour pork and chicken were great. The sauce had that perfect tangy, slightly sweet flavor. That said, next time we probably won't order the same sauce for both dishes. I think pairing something like sweet and sour with kung pao would give a better balance with a little heat to cut through the sweetness. Overall, this place is a winner. Great food, solid portions, and the price is very reasonable at about $33 per person for the Shanghai Dinner. My wife enjoyed everything so much that after seeing another table order the duck, she's already talking about coming back to try it. I've been trying to get her to try duck for a while, so I'm looking forward to that next visit. We'll definitely be back.

When some asks about bona fide Chinese dining that I always suggest PDJ first. The experience is sit down, formal, and shockingly consistent. The service level makes you think you are dining in this families home. The food is still the star of the show. The Peking Duck and Seafood Birds Nest are highlights. In reality, no matter what you like and spice level you are comfortable with you can't go wrong here. If you want to impress your lunch date, colleagues, or treat your loved ones, bring them here. The parking lot is cramped and gets busy during peak times. Thank you and congratulations on more than 35 years in Reno.
