Our experience here was excellent. We took my parents out for breakfast for their 25th, and the experience here was great. When we first showed up, there where many open tables but by the time we got our food, this place was packed, with most the tables been used, and a line of people ordering. Their menu varies, from bagels, to crapes, to all American breakfast, mimosas, beer, wine ect. Best part, it sits right in front of the beautiful Petaluma river, located in downtown Petaluma. I love this spot by the river! Stopped by here for a late lunch on my way back from crabbing in Bodega. I'm also a no frills kinda gal and appreciate the order counter type service. I popped in on a whim and decided to order something for breakfast. After ordering at the counter, I sat down on the cleanest table I could find and waited for my food. I soon caught an overpowering stench of floral air freshener (why would a restaurant need this?) and looked to see where it was coming from. I saw it plugged into the wall behind me, surrounded by grimy floors and used tissue or a soiled napkin. I moved to escape the smell but couldn't shake it and the buzzsaw-like noise coming from the drink cooler made it so uncomfortable being there. On our first stop there, we just wanted to have some coffee drinks (They have very good coffee by the way!), but then a few smaller items like Buffalo Wings and Fries caught our eyes and we decided to try them. I suggest the owner limit the food choices by half (or more) and really focus on the quality of the food. I have never spoken to ANYONE who likes the food. I'm not trying to be unkind however, if this were a review of my business I'd find it hard not to see it that way. I just believe that they could have a more thriving business and people showing up for the food and not just the music. But, if the owner is happy with their profits, keep doing what you're doing. I think charging $5 for the music MAY not be a winning strategy. It means for me that instead of going Friday & Saturday, I'd only go one of those days and they'd lose the money for what I'd purchase both days. I'm a senior and there are lots of seniors here, some of whom must be careful with their money. Just a suggestion. read more

Came here for a casual lunch and it was delicious. You order at the counter and take your number to your table. They have quite a variety on the menu. We got the Great Mill Eggs Benedict and Santa Rosa Crepe with hash browns. Both were filling and really tasty. Has pretty views of the Petaluma River. There's an outdoor patio which would be beautiful on a nice day. The doors were open when we were there, so it was a bit chilly. If going in the winter, I'd recommend bringing a jacket just in case. Wonderful Saturday morning with temperature of 76 in Petaluma downtown. We chooses to sit outside enjoying the fresh summer Petaluma style freeze! With 5 order of breakfast after tax was 91 dollars , we consider this is cheaper than IHOP. Food portion is big! I can only finish a third of my omelette. The waffle was great. I tried left over from my daughter three days ago. So I came to try the fresh one! It is Crispy outside and soft between cake and bread! Strawberry slices just ripe to perfect. My son kept stealing them . I asked for my egg to be scrambled soft, so my plate look different than others. Flavor of the omelette is good but the oil left on the plate was salty as ocean water . Next time don't order bacon and sausage type of omelette. My son's scramble sausage was not as greasy as mine., The gentleman at the front register took our order was kind with Patience. A nice day in late January. Greeted warmly as we viewed the many choices on the large menu and admired the selection of baked goods as well. Very comfortable seating available inside and out. Service was great! My hubby had the Beef Shawarma Plate. It was all that could be expected. He loved everything on the plate! Next time we'll order a second helping of the beef to take home to have with the leftover condiments. I was in the mood for crab cakes. And since it was our first time eating there, I also got the cheese burger with fries knowing I would take some home. Found the burger cooked to perfection with a soft bun and good fries. Wasn't as impressed with the crab cakes served over lettuce mix. I love capers but felt too many overwhelmed the delicate crab flavor. Here's what I chose. FOCACCIA BREAD - I'm so happy I chose this! The bread was slightly toasted and tasted SO buttery! It's so good! The entire sandwich was a very hefty one and it was so good!!! All the veggies were grilled and there was lots of cheese gushing out. I only finished half of a half! SIDE SALAD - this was super good. Not some random leaves thrown together like most restaurants do and call it a house salad. This was legit. I actually ate it all with my HONEY MUSTARD dressing. The veggies in it was fresh and it had cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, garbanzo beans and mixed leaves. I can see myself coming and treating it as a cafe to hang out and do some work. In COVID times it's hard to be a restaurant. Some places seem to be able to adapt and still nail it, others less so. Think of this review as more of a "what to expect if you go". The indoor space is bright light from the many windows and bakery case if cookies greets you as you walk in. Orders are taken at a counter. No seating inside due to current State orders. (The tables outside overlooking the river were calling anyway.) Only touchless payment option is if you have a card you can "tap" We ordered the Belgian Waffle with strawberries and whipped cream, a Crab Benedict and asked for a side of bacon. A cup of drip coffee rounded it out. Coffee was in self serve air pots--not sure if the handles are sanitized between customers. Coffee was nice and hot. Our food swiftly arrived. Food is served on sturdy paper plates with plastic utensils. Crab Cake Eggs Benedict: English muffin ended up a bit soft and soggy which was odd because the sauce was sparse; but the egg was cooked perfectly and the crab cake was ok. Our side order of bacon was instead added to the crab Benedict and it appeared it was two slices cut in half. Home fries (potatoes) were tasty. Waffle: Waffle was very disappointing--a scattering of thinly sliced strawberries like the equivalent of two strawberries and a small swirl of whipped topping on the side. The economizing of portions on strawberries, whipped cream, bacon and the soggy English muffin resulted in the reduced star. read more

The falafel was by far the best I've ever had-fresh, not greasy, with an unexpected and welcome addition of sesame seeds in the coating. The baba ghanoush was absolutely amazing as well. Oftentimes I shy away from baba ghanoush because I find it slimy, but this was velvety smooth with the perfect amount of tang. The dolma was tasty with great flavor and a hint of mint. We ordered the sampler plate and the falafels were so good, lite inside with balanced seasoning, not to much mint or any other dominating flavors, the crust on the outside was the perfect crunch in the mouth. The baba ganoush was also a winner, smooth & not to smokey. The hummus needs a tad more flavor. Recently my teenage daughter went to the River Front Cafe with a couple of friends and didn't have enough money on her to pay for her entire order. The owner told her not to worry about it and covered the rest of the bill. Her friend later found $10 in her pocket and tried to pay the rest of the tab, but the owner said it was already taken care of and told my daughter's friend to keep her money. Such kindness.
