I was assigned to Remington's when I attended a conference this week. We were so impressed with the staff that accomodated several large tales on attendees! I enjoyed the cod special and had a side of brussells sprouts. So delicious! While the BS (haha) were not that crunchy, I did feel like they weren't the most calorie-laden thing on the menu, as BS often comes to taste good! Bottom line - great service, great food and easy location. Would definitely return! read more

Wow! Went to this place for brunch during a busy weekend at about 1:30 and decided to sit at the bar. Anya helped us out, she was very attentive and kind. Super great atmosphere and impeccable menu. Yes, you are paying more than average but the quality and portion size is well worth it. Crab toast is a must! We also tried the sliders and some of the pressed sushi. Love this place when I'm back in Chicago. Excellent atmosphere, especially at the bar. Martinis are absolutely flawless. My favorite are the filet sliders. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. Very good service. Very good Wedge Salad (you can order full or 1/2). I had the Remington Steak after waiters suggestion. It was fine. Nothing wrong with it but nothing great (wouldn't order it again and probably shouldn't be A recommendation). Business friends both had Filet. Once again nothing wrong or great. There's a lot of great restaurants over by "the bean". One in particular is Remington's. We made a reservation beforehand (which we figured out is a must anywhere in Chicago). Together, we had the lobster deviled eggs, crab cake, and steak salad. Everything was delicious! I haven't come here to eat yet but have been here twice after work for drinks. Ist time was great! It was summer and their windows were open and the breeze was blowing and the Sauvignon Blanc was flowing. 2nd time was ok. Came here for happy hour and the pickin's were slim. $5 drafts (that's good) but only a measly three wines to choose from - chardonnay, cabernet, or rose (that's meh). The bartender was professional and nice though. While he was pouring my beer, halfway through the keg tapped out and he gave me that for free until the keg was replaced. read more

Prime restaurant. Super swanky inside, awesome fit and finishes (small lamps on the bar are sweet) and fantastic service from the bar staff. Bartenders knew everything about both drinks and food and were super kind to make suggestions as well as small talk. I was alone new in Chicago so this was cool. Started with the guac while I decided on a main course and it was very apparent it was made to order. Huge chunks of avo and fresh cut tomatoes. Ridiculously good. Finally ordered the short rib as I do almost every time I see it available, it was the best I've ever had! Had grilled corn and chili's and onions worked into the most savory gravy which they were not stingy with whatsoever. Huge piece of meat, fell right apart, and was perfect paired with immaculate mashed potatoes. Overall 10/10 experience. Great work. read more

We came in with a group of five after seeing a theatre production in the loop. The restaurant looks very sleek, and the hostess was friendly and accommodating. We were initially seated in an enclosed room that smelled very foul. This is my only deduction. The odor was overpowering (two members of our party were nurses and compared it to urine) so we immediately asked to be re-seated, and we were. This was the only mis-hap of our visit. Our server was friendly, helpful and polite. Our food came out in a timely manner and we were all pleased with our dishes. I had the filet mignon which was perfect. We were particularly impressed with our desserts - key lime pie, and the apple-pear crisp. Some members of our group thought it was the best key lime pie they'd had. Great restaurant. I was staying at a hotel nearby and stopped in for appetizers. The guac was definitely fresh made in house with warm chips great option. The spinach dip was also a winner. Couple the cozy atmosphere with great service and you have a great restaurant that accommodates any party. There's a bar area with TV for sports fans, a liw table area to chat and sip solo or with a partner and many table top options for all size parties. The menu had enough options to please any party. I made reservations for a company holiday lunch and it was the best experience we ever had, the staff was super nice. Janine our server was amazing she answered all our questions about the menu and she made sure we had a great time. The brussels sprouts are mouth-watering and the ribeye steaks are so juicy. Came here for a pre theater dinner and had a great experience! We were seated at a high top table in the corner. Our server was super attentive. Drinks and food came out super fast. We ordered: French 75 (I think that was the number) - really nice gin champagne cocktail Tuna tartar - Very fresh, great flavor, served with very food tortilla chips Pork chop - best pork chop of my life omg. So juicy and flavorful. Served with awesome garlic mashed potatoes Chicken sandwich - great rotisserie chicken sandwich. Bread was great and served with nice crispy fries. I'm writing this after my 4th or 5th visit. You know how Chicago Tribune keeps publishing lists about where to eat on Michigan Ave? Well, they're doing a great disservice to your chances of resolving hunger pains by not putting this place on the list. Tonight, it was pouring rain and the app popped up on my phone just beckoning me to go in. Who was I to dispute this notification?! I went in and had a burger and fries with beer (and decent coffee afterwards) for the first time in 7 months for $30 - just in time for the half marathon I'm running this weekend. I just climbed the stairs of the L in exhaustion with all the carbs streaming into my blood stream and I know this is likely going to happen again for the spring half marathon too. I've visited this place for my mom's first time visiting us in Chicago where we had their amazing key lime pie after various delightful seafood. I've also put this place on our brunch circulation for when oatmeal just won't cut it after a rough week. Even if everything was horrible, this place gives you such a good people watching area. This is important for when you need to see ladies wearing fur coats down to the ground in January or all the tourists running around on Michigan. You can also just look at the line at Le Pain Quotidien next door and laugh too. read more

We come to Chicago for work a couple of times a year and were looking for a place to have dinner that was not too far from the Hyatt. It was such a great day that we opted to walk. We had a reservation but arrived early so we were able to enjoy a few drinks during their Happy Hour. Great selection of beers and wine to choose from and they did not disappoint. Friendly bartenders and they were very generous with their pours. We made it to our table and were introduced to our server. He continued the great service and attention that we had received from the time that we had walked in the door. The food and service were amazing. This was the best meal of the trip. Everything that was brought to the table was delicious. We will definitely be back on our next trip. My boss and I came into Remington's for an early dinner on Valentine's Day. Yes, that's right. We were in town for a conference and we both completely forgot it was going to be Valentine's Day. Here began the wild search to find somewhere to eat that still had reservations, wouldn't require us to invest in a set menu, and was within walking distance from our hotel. I found Remington after some searching on Yelp and thought it was perfect. They had a variety of dishes on the menu - both for my boss who's a vegetarian and for me. They still had space for an early 6pm dinner, so I booked it. It was a very short walk from our hotel and right across the park. We were seated at a high-table by the windows, so we got to look outside during our meal. I opted for their Rotisserie Chicken with mashed potatoes and jus. I also added a side of roasted brussels sprouts because I wanted some veggies. The chicken was absolutely delicious. It was tender and juicy, and really hit the spot. It was kind of cold and chilly that night, so the comfort of the dish was just what I needed. I had opted for a cocktail, their French 75 with gin, st germain brut rose, and lemon twist. It was good and very strong. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Our dinner took about two hours, despite the fact that neither of us ordered an appetizer or a dessert. Remington's is a nice, upscale restaurant right outside Millennium Park in Chicago. The fare is standard American food, but the quality is great, and at a totally reasonable price for the location and amount of food. My friends and I stopped by after visiting the park and taking pictures at the Bean, so we didn't have a wait at all, but your mileage may vary if you stop by at a more peak time, as I could totally see this restaurant being swamped by tourists looking to get a comfortable and tasty meal. I've been coming here to celebrate my birthday for the past 2 years and I'd like to say Remington's has never disappointed. The food is always cooked perfectly and very flavorful. I've never once thought anything I tried here has been bad. I had the Atlantic salmon and it was very good. The sauces used paired well. I know it is hard to get fish wrong, but I've had my fair share of terrible salmon. The oyster Rockefeller was my FAVORITE. I highly recommend. My friend ordered a medium steak, but the server suggested we get medium rare as that is their specialty. I can't eat medium rare steak, but I'll have to admit I actually ate a couple pieces and it was great as well. read more

Apparently they have a new meat supplier which was absolutely horrible! The ribeye was so tough it shook the whole table when trying to cut it. They exchanged it for the New York strip which came almost raw. Finally they brought the prime rib which was OK. I had the Seabass which was prepared in such a way that I've never seen before and had a lot of bones! This was our first and last time at Remingtons. Came here for a work dinner one evening. The service was really great. We ordered a couple appetizers for the table (smoked trout dip and guacamole). They were very accommodating for allergies since the corn chips were cooked in a shared fryer with other wheat products so they brought out some sliced veggies to go with the dips including chips. Someone pointed it out to her and I actually wanted something but oh well I didnt feel like ordering it at that point. Yesterday I hosted a surprise baby shower for one of my friends and Remington's and the food and service were exceptional! Julia helped to assist with all the planning and was very easy to communicate with during the entire process as I was planning this event from out of state. Mediocre food made worse by inexperienced waitstaff. Once our small group was seated, there was no welcome or voluntary description of the menu. No have-you-been-here-before's or here's-what-makes-us-competitive-with-other-steakhouses'. I ordered a ribeye black and blue and it arrived promptly, served by someone other than our waiter. I asked him for a glass of wine. At that moment, we realized that our forks hadn't been replaced. Our waiter arrived a few minutes later, also noticed the lack of silverware, and had it brought over. As far as the black and blue goes, the sear was just okay. It's pretty easy to tell when the heat is actually turned up. This was indistinguishable from rare. During our main course our waiter didn't appear once--not even to ask if the steak was cooked properly--and my wine never arrived. After our food was taken away he didn't ask how things were and went straight into asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. read more
