This is a nice spot to stop in while in Downtown Chicago. The ribs are excellent with a sweet and spicy sauce. I enjoyed the fish and chips as well but thought they had a tad too much salt. The service was amazing and the server was very knowledgeable on menu items. The restaurant is a decent size abut tables are packed in tightly.

5/5 without a doubt. Vibe and food couldn't be better. I can't wait to get back to try more. The burger Wellington was fun, unique and super well cooked. Soup is great. Can't wait to try the fish and chips. Won't be my last time here for sure.

We made a reservation easily and were seated right away. The staff were serviceable, but nothing impressive. Our waitress was very robotic. Prices seemed high, especially the drinks. Food was good and this place was fine, but nothing that wowed.

Good dinner here last night. My work friend and I ate the bar. Beertender was personable, and his drinks were good as well. I had the Burger Wellington, which was delicious. Truffle fries were also very good.

Fried calamari BLT - A sandwich featuring bacon, fried onions, and lettuce is presented on a blue ceramic plate. The sandwich is cut in half, revealing the ingredients inside, and is accompanied by a piece of bread and a metal cup. Silverware, including a fork and knife, is placed beside the plate on a wooden table.

We have frequented The Dearborn over several years for different personal and work purposes. Their food quality and attentive service has remained consistent. Therefore we continue to have a pleasant dine-in experience and The Dearborn remains one of our rotating choices. Some of our favorites are: Dearborn burger Fish and chips Mushroom truffle grilled cheese Fried calamari BLT Looking forward to our next return and to try something new on the menu!

Taking in dinner bf going to musical. Loved the vibe of the restaurant. It was very busy but they had plenty of employees taking care of customers. Ordered a thin crust pizza, spicy lobster shrimp burutta. I loved the thin crust. The spicy aspect was right at the border for being too spicy but I enjoyed it. I would prefer more shrimp/lobster. For dessert, I had salted caramel gelato. It was delicious. My first time to have it.

I've had very mixed experiences at The Dearborn. Sometimes the quality of the food is great, other times I've had to send back my order. I do enjoy the Palmer House Rolls, as those are most consistent. Good location in the loop to meet for a business dinner.

Stopped by The Dearborn for a meal before a show at the Chicago Theatre and sat in the bar area since there was no wait -- always a win. The ambiance is lovely and modern, making it a great pre-theater spot. Drinks were solid. I ordered the lychee martini, which oddly didn't come with a lychee at first, but once I asked, they quickly brought me two. Not a big deal, but fresh lychee should really already come with a lychee drink. The fish and chips were hands down the best I've had. They claim to be the best, award winning, and it clearly isn't just smoke. It's a bit pricey for a single filet, but it was a good size and cooked perfectly. I'd happily pay a little more if they offered two filets because the fish itself was that good. The fish comes with fries and coleslaw, which were typical, nothing to write home about. Service was fair -- nothing bad, nothing standout. One small downside: the bathroom situation. It's tucked away down some stairs, which felt like a strange layout choice. Overall, a solid choice for drinks and a great meal before a show. I'd definitely come back, especially for those fish and chips. Wish I had a genie to pop me in there for lunch today!

    Wellington Burger

Nice spot in the loop. Normally, I'm against $30 burgers but the Wellington burger was unique enough to make it worth it. Service was a little slow but they got hit really hard with a rush right after I sat down at the bar so I won't hold it against them.

A Pilsner to begin the first night - Two tall, transparent glasses of beer are positioned on a wooden table, with a small, decorative candle holder in the foreground. The glasses are filled with a light-colored beer, and the background appears to be a dimly lit indoor setting, possibly a bar or restaurant. The glasses have the word 'Krombacher' embossed on them, indicating the brand of beer.

First meal in Chicago! Great attentive service provided by Cooper, a fine gentleman from New Hampshire with a great sense of humor. Had the Fish N Chips that apparently beat Chef Bobby Flay. The fish was crisp and flakey, accompanied by perfect fries. Their Glazed Fried Chicken with the glaze on the side was tasty as well. chicken. Two iced cold Pilsners to wash it down. Nice comfortable seating and atmosphere.

Came in without a reservation and was seated promptly, which was a great start. We were seated at a table with wide leather chairs that were surprisingly comfortable and made the experience feel relaxed right away. Our waitress was attentive throughout the meal and checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. We started with the sticky pork rib. It definitely packs a spicy kick, though it leans more on the sweeter side, maybe a bit too sweet for my taste. The flavor was good overall, but the meat could have been more tender. For mains, we ordered the fish and chips and upgraded to truffle fries. The fish was buttery and flaky, and the breading was nice and light, which I really enjoyed. The fries had good flavor but could have been a little crispier. We also tried the prosciutto tavern-style pizza, which was the biggest letdown. It really needed more crispiness. Both the crust and overall texture felt soggy. The flavors were quite muted, and none of the toppings added much texture or contrast, which made the pizza fall flat.

Really great experience at the Dearborn recently. Stopped in after visiting Millennium park on a Sunday. Sat in the bar area and it was perfectly decorated for the holidays. The staff was amazing, drinks were great, and the food was really good. Kept it simple with a pizza but was impressed, will return back! Pro Tip: located close to theater district so a good pre/post visit

Just had my first, amazing experience at The Dearborn! After visiting Santa at Macy's with my husband and twin toddlers, we walked over for brunch. Even though online reservations looked full, we called and were seated immediately. The restaurant is swanky, clean, and beautifully decorated. The coat racks next to the tables were super convenient for storing our bulky winter gear and diaper bag. The service was outstanding; our server was friendly and always on top of things. They didn't have a physical kids' menu, but offered plenty of kid-friendly choices like grilled cheese, buttered noodles, cheeseburger, chicken fingers, and pizza, which all come with fries. My husband and I split the corned beef and the PB&J French toast, while the boys shared a grilled cheese and shrimp with grits. We also upgraded their fries to truffle fries. Everything was incredibly delicious! I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Shrimp & Grits - A top-down view of a dining table featuring three main dishes: a bowl of shrimp and grits garnished with herbs, a salad with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and other vegetables, and a meat dish with sauce and a fried item. The table also has glasses of water, salt and pepper shakers, a small pitcher of oil or dressing, and utensils. The setting appears to be in a restaurant with a wooden table surface.

Hello, does the restaurant offer a special menu for kids?

Hi Amanda. Thank you for your question. We do have separate offerings for kids! The following are available for lunch and dinner: Burger with fries, Chicken Fingers with fries, and Grilled Cheese with fries. We hope to see you soon!

    Are you guys dog friendly?

    NO.

    Where can you park?

Hi Josh. Thank you for your inquiry. There is street parking located in the area, and there is also a parking garage nearby, located at 181 N. Dearborn Street. We hope to see you soon!

I see in categories you have "vegan options". What are they?

Be careful here. Fries are cooked in the same oil as the chicken and the brussel sprouts are cooked on the same grill as the meat. Unless you want a salad my answer would be "none".

Do you offer half portions for people that have had bariatric surgery?

Thank you for your inquiry. We offer a cup of soup and side versions of our Little Gem Caesar and Market Salad. If you have any additional questions, please call us directly at (312)384-1242.

    Do you have outdoor seating?

Hi Lucy. Thank you for your question! Yes, we do have patio seating available, subject to availability. We hope to see you soon!

Can I get your recipe for Mussels?

    😂😂😂

Are jeans acceptable to wear for dinner on a Saturday?

    Absolutely!

How long should a party of three expect to be seated on a Sunday for lunch?

This is a time dependent, a good rule of thumb is 45min or less.

What are the Happy Hour specials and what days and times please?

I don't believe they have a happy hour but it's a wonderful place to go, worth the money.

What Is The Happy Hour Menu?

    Sorry but I didn't notice.

I see some comments about happy hour food and drink specials but do not see a separate menu on their website. Is there a happy hour menu on Friday or Sunday? If so, what are the hours? Thanks!

Hi, Fran! While we don't do drink specials for happy hour, we do have a small bites menu that's… Read more

What is on the kid's menu? What is the price range?

Entrees for lunch are probably $15-25, but their menu also changes.

    Valet parking available or no?

    No valet parking isn't available

When does the lunch menu end and the dinner menu begin?

I'm not sure, but I believe brunch ends at 2 p.m.

    Open for Lunch?

    Yes!

Does the Dearborn have a happy hour menu? If he'd what is the details on the time and contents?

I don't think they do cuz I didn't see it on the menu.

It says this place is not good for kids. Why?

On the contrary! The Dearborn has a kid's menu that appeals to everyone. Aisles are wide enough to easily manage strollers, and we have many booster seats and high chairs for little ones!… Read more

This year I was so excited to bring my family and Ema was the only restaurant in Chicago I couldn't wait for them to try. I booked it as our final meal in Chicago and lay awake at 4am being so disappointed in my choice. Our server's greeting was monotone and emotionless, which I realize now, would be foreshadowing the meal to come. Ordered the following 1) Smoky eggplant- arrived appearing as an unappetizing curdled purple grey mush. This was the worst tasting baba ghanouj I have ever eaten. It was acidic and had the texture of cottage cheese. The only redeeming thing about this appetizer was the warm naan. 2) house made stratciatella with side of green falafels- The stratciatella was bland and stringy. I would not order this dish expecting the creamy interior of typical burrata. However, if you like string cheese mixed with heavy cream- you may enjoy this dish. The tomatoes and basil were good. 3) chicken kefta- kefta was bland, rice even blander . 4) short rib with polenta- bland and the meat and polenta had the same texture, which seems impossible but somehow the plating was over complicated by the addition of mushy dates and grapes. 5) buttered noodles- my 8 year old ordered this. It was decent with a good amount of Parmesan and cooked perfectly al dente. By the end of the meal, I was so shocked by how terrible the food was I didn't even want to order the sticky date cake that was my main purpose for returning to this restaurant. Ema, what happened to you?!
