Busy Wednesday breakfast hour we stopped in at Beatrix. The restaurant was busy but staff seemed on top of all tables and no tables looked ignored or annoyed My friends had pancakes which looked great, I had the shakshouka. Ive seen this made several times on TV and even considered making it but hadn't yet - needless to say i"d never tasted it Regardless the shakshouka was savory , the tomato sauce was rich and all the middle eastern spices were present. No criticism here as the dish tasted great and I finished the "FULL Portion"
We had a nice experience at Beatrix in Chicago! The atmosphere was lovely, the service was great, and everything made for a really enjoyable visit. A great place to enjoy good food and spend time with friends or family. Definitely worth visiting!
I had two very different experiences at Beatrix on Clark Street. I first visited for dinner with coworkers, and dinner was great. Based on that experience, I was happy to return with my partner for breakfast. Unfortunately, breakfast was mediocre. We shared a breakfast sandwich and hash browns. My partner ordered a spicy Bloody Mary, which arrived with essentially no spice. I had a pumpkin spice latte, and surprisingly, it was pretty good considering I am not normally a pumpkin spice person. Nothing was terrible, but the breakfast food did not match the quality of my earlier dinner or the to go pastries they have available. I would gladly return for dinner, but I would probably choose another spot for breakfast or grab a pastry to go.

Good food with plenty of menu variety despite it being a single page. I enjoyed my enchiladas. The salsa it came with was just the right amount of spicy. I had a joy (coconut+chocolate) cookie from their bakery case ($2 after 8pm) that was also good. Sitting at the bar is a bit awkward as it's not full height. There is a step down so the bartender can't see if your water or other drink is low. Points for trying but they don't have local TV channels for basic sports watching. It's not that type of place but should be a baseline anywhere if a TV is present. They open early and have a variety of seating options and a solid looking coffee bar if you want to work from there.
I was craving a standard breakfast spot and enjoyed this place on our last day in Chicago. The lemon blueberry pancakes was so fluffy soft and delicious. The brown sugar bacon was superb as well as their soft buttery hash browns. Great place to start the morning

I was able to grab a spot at the bar and the service was lovely. A great place to grab a pastry, chat with locals, and try some amazing coffee, I'd definitely recommend!
Cute brunch spot! The location we visited is inside the Aloft Hotel, which makes it super convenient if you're staying there (great idea on their part). They also have a cute pastry and coffee bar, the ham and cheese croissant looked amazing. I also learned they have three locations around town. The brunch menu has something for everyone, from healthy options like superfood oatmeal to heartier dishes like chimichurri steak and eggs. I ordered the egg white pesto wrap, and it was exactly what I was looking for healthy, filling, and packed with flavor from the pesto and tomatoes. A special shoutout to our server, Maddie, who was amazing and made our brunch even better. And happy birthday to my Leo sister!
Saturday brunch here is packed. It was super loud, but I liked all the plants hanging from the ceiling. 7/10. Service was fine. Nothing standout, but I appreciated our server warning us the café was backed up on drinks. Both the food and drinks took a while to come out. 7/10. The Iced Banana Joe (1/10) was way too bitter for me and needed a lot more sweetness (I think it's made of cold brew). I couldn't even finish it. The Iced Dulce de Leche Latte (4/10) had a unique flavor, but it just wasn't my type of latte. The Bacon, Egg & Cheddar Sandwich (7/10) was solid, just nothing memorable. The Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich (7/10) had great flavor, but the chicken was soggy. The fries were surprisingly good, especially since I'm usually not a fries person. The Golden Hash Brown (4/10) was also disappointing. It was bland, didn't have much of a crispy crust, and completely fell apart after the first few bites. Overall, I'd still come back... just for the avocado toast.

nestled at the bottom of aloft hotel, beatrix serves up great breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cafe fare! they have lots of seating and seem to be always busy -- weekends can be hours of waiting! we grabbed an oat latte from the cafe bar alongside the lil breakfast sandwich and lil breakfast burrito. the latte is great, their beans are more smokey and roasted than others. the breakfast burrito was just ok, we liked the sandwich a lot better
Will return. Fake hanging plants; friendly and warm service; open kitchen; elegant water glasses and napkins (I think they're synthetic); earthy Barista tableware. We've - Greek yogurt - Shakshouka Both are good, especially the yogurt: the banana is awesome. Shakshouka has a lot of kale! The pita is soft and fresh, I ate it all with olive oil -:) Bathrooms are in the hotel lobby; it has an ATM. Beatrix is a mini-chain of all-day restaurants, coffeehouses, and markets in the Chicago area.
Prompt service! Came here with a group of six for lunch during a weekday. We ordered the truffle appetizer along with our entrées and we were out of here in exactly an hour. I ordered the quinoa mushroom burger, which was delicious. My only complaint is that the fries were not as warm or crispy as I prefer.

I came across " BEATRIX" while passing by on my way to another restaurant. What caught my attention was the layout. I love how comfortable and inviting the space looked, so I decided to come back. After looking over the menu, I was pleasantly surprised, and I ended up ordering French onion, short rib whipped Gruyere potatoes, brioche , crouton , Carmelize onions & and there signature reserve, single-barrel old-fashioned 21.. very delicious I want to send a special shout out to my waiter "Fred" who was extremely friendly, patient, and made my experience even more enjoyable. 10/10 highly recommend read more

This breakfast was so good! I had the lavender honey latte and it was amazing. The avocado toast was delicious. The pancakes were amazing... I could go on. Great service and great food. The restaurant itself was not very stroller friendly. I wish a staff member would have just told us to go through the hotel next door with the stroller, but we didn't realize it connected until we struggled our way through. One guy looked at my husband and literally said "good luck" without budging. (This was just a customer not a staff member) but it was so wild to see that kind of interaction!! Anyway, just some extra compassion to the parents who want to enjoy a nice breakfast would go a long way, but food wise we would recommend and would go back. read more

Ordered Door Dash from Beatrix, and I was obsessed with this salad. It was such a unique combination of snap peas, asparagus, green apple, and avocado, topped with pistachios, coconut, and crispy quinoa, all tossed in a tangy green curry dressing!! Ordered a cheeseburger to go (my bf was in the hospital upstairs and I was going to eat with him in his room). Wait wasn't long for the food. Packaged well but the burger was so juicy it kind of soaked the bottom bun completely. I would go back and eat in person as it was delicious. Walked past window signage about happy hour, now candidly I had always viewed Beatrix as a breakfast/brunch spot (which they are), but I was craving a burger and was about to go elsewhere for it but curiousity got me! $12 for a burger with fries in River North almost sounds too good to be real, but I'm happy to report it's a real thing! Monday-Friday 4p-6p in the bar. Now the big secret is out: Go! My waitress was Maddie, she was a sweetheart and quite bubbly, she kept checking to see if I needed anything else, and above all asked about allergies at the onset. Thank you!!!! The vibe was cozy, casual and modern. Really busy and now I understand why:) The burger was cooked perfectly, garnished with grilled onions, shredded lettuce and aoli. The fries were tasty and thankfully not salty. Food took a while to come out but arrived fresh so the cuppuccino was a nice hold-over. Beatrix is also part of LettuceEats group so xou can get points or pay tabs with points if you are part of their rewards program. I'm definitely coming back! Great experience all in all, the only area for improvement is the hostess who ignored me standing there until I interrupted her scrolling her phone then eventually just sat myself down and borrowed a menu from the table next to me. read more
My friends and I made a quick stop into Beatrix for some drinks and apps. Since the menu isn't super broad, we decided to stick with appetizers and they definitely did the job. The spicy tuna crispy rice was the star of the show. It was incredibly fresh with the perfect crunch. The whipped feta was also a surprising favorite, especially with the honey on top which added a really nice touch. The crackers it was served with wouldn't have been my first choice, but it was still really delicious overall. Great spot if you're looking to grab a few drinks and share some tasty apps. read more
We came in for breakfast at around 7:00 am. The smell of pastries as you walk in the door was intoxicating! We were seated in a cozy corner table, and I got the mango orange pineapple juice, which was so refreshing! Hubby got a cold brew that he enjoyed as well. For entrees, I got the yogurt and granola bowl and hubby got a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Both were super tasty! Our waitress was attentive as well. read more

Our family really enjoyed this restaurant. Good service and a menu with something for everyone. Okay, the kids were just excited about the pastries at the coffee bar, but my wife and I enjoyed our dinners. We would definitely go back on our next trip to Chicago. read more

While staying in town nearby I came here for breakfast... I chose this place because the reviews I saw were all great and once I got there, I understood why! Service was very helpful, friendly, a nice! The menu for breakfast is very good and they have a very popular and amazing coffee bar with lots of pastry options too. I chose their Bacon, Egg, & Cheddar Sandwich and asked for hash browns with it and for those to be extra crispy. Starting with their regular coffee - it was great! Then the food came out relatively quickly and looked amazing! The egg was PERFECTLY (ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY!) cooked! The sandwich came together and tasted amazing... I especially loved the bites of freshly sliced jalapeño and the arugula in the sandwich too!! The has browns were made the way I asked and tasted sooo good! Overall, I would definitely recommend giving them a try and I can see why the reviews were so good! My visit was very nice. read more
Thought this place was fine. Just nothing particular special . It's on the first floor of a hotel. Next door is Ema which is honestly much more interesting. This place is just ok brunch food. It's noisy and bustling. They have a coffee bar you can get pastries and takeout coffee. I went to dine alone and was told open seating at the bar. Service was very fast and attentive. Food was solid. Go here to get coffee or a hot breakfast without hassle. read more
This was the restaurant in my hotel and the mix of cute decor and convenience made me choose this for both lunch AND dinner! It was so good!!! Lunch, I had the cheeseburger and it was DELICIOUS!!!! Beatrix was not on my radar, but it was recommended to us by Aloft staff as a really popular weekend brunch spot. Plus, they hooked us up with several vouchers (which we were able to combine)! Definitely made it easy for us since we didn't need to go far to eat on a Sunday! Anyone that knows me and brunch knows I go straight for any scrambled eggs dish. Went with the Migas Egg Scramble, which was scrambled eggs cooked with shishito pepper, pico de gallo, and pepper jack cheese, and came with a side of tortilla chips with guacamole and spicy tomato salsa. I don't really need to describe it further because it's really hard to mess that up. Also ordered a side of hash browns...after all, brunch! Service was fine, no complaints from me. I can see why Beatrix is such a popular brunch spot. Really good food here and great vibes as well! read more
The vibes and inside here is super cute, from the sit down area all the way to the cafe/bakery ordering counter. The food is a bit on the pricier side and the food doesn't have anything too different or too much flavor. The service was really fast and good - just an average place in river north in my opinion. Tasty spot for brunch and it was hopping, glad we made a reservation! Very busy and decent loud atmosphere but it was fun, not overwhelming. Seated close to the kitchen but still decent. Service was friendly and fast. Chicken sandwich was tasty, burrito too. Coffee was basic. read more

Overall, it's a pleasant place to meet with friends or coworkers after work. The music isn't too loud and doesn't interfere with conversation. As for the food: I understand that this is very subjective, but neither my husband nor I enjoyed the appetizers. That said, my husband did like the kebab. I had the whitefish - overall, it was pretty good. If it weren't for the lemon, the dish would have felt like it was missing some brightness in flavor. Brunch is served Friday through Sunday from 8:00am~3:00pm.
How loud is it in here? How are interiors-is there good day light and is it lively or is it cozy?
Good for first date. Can be a little noisy but not overwhelming. There are seats in the bar area and others seats in more if a diner area. Good lighting. Food is really good.
