Will return. Fake hanging plants; friendly and warm service; open kitchen; elegant water glasses and napkins (I think they're synthetic); earthy Barista tableware. We've - Greek yogurt - Shakshouka Both are good, especially the yogurt: the banana is awesome. Shakshouka has a lot of kale! The pita is soft and fresh, I ate it all with olive oil -:) Bathrooms are in the hotel lobby; it has an ATM. Beatrix is a mini-chain of all-day restaurants, coffeehouses, and markets in the Chicago area.

Prompt service! Came here with a group of six for lunch during a weekday. We ordered the truffle appetizer along with our entrées and we were out of here in exactly an hour. I ordered the quinoa mushroom burger, which was delicious. My only complaint is that the fries were not as warm or crispy as I prefer.

Thought this place was fine. Just nothing particular special . It's on the first floor of a hotel. Next door is Ema which is honestly much more interesting. This place is just ok brunch food. It's noisy and bustling. They have a coffee bar you can get pastries and takeout coffee. I went to dine alone and was told open seating at the bar. Service was very fast and attentive. Food was solid. Go here to get coffee or a hot breakfast without hassle.

This breakfast was so good! I had the lavender honey latte and it was amazing. The avocado toast was delicious. The pancakes were amazing... I could go on. Great service and great food. The restaurant itself was not very stroller friendly. I wish a staff member would have just told us to go through the hotel next door with the stroller, but we didn't realize it connected until we struggled our way through. One guy looked at my husband and literally said "good luck" without budging. (This was just a customer not a staff member) but it was so wild to see that kind of interaction!! Anyway, just some extra compassion to the parents who want to enjoy a nice breakfast would go a long way, but food wise we would recommend and would go back.

    Hello, Rod Stewart!

Ordered a cheeseburger to go (my bf was in the hospital upstairs and I was going to eat with him in his room). Wait wasn't long for the food. Packaged well but the burger was so juicy it kind of soaked the bottom bun completely. I would go back and eat in person as it was delicious. Also they really nailed the decor for me as a fan of Prince and Rod Stewart!

Walked past window signage about happy hour, now candidly I had always viewed Beatrix as a breakfast/brunch spot (which they are), but I was craving a burger and was about to go elsewhere for it but curiousity got me! $12 for a burger with fries in River North almost sounds too good to be real, but I'm happy to report it's a real thing! Monday-Friday 4p-6p in the bar. Now the big secret is out: Go! My waitress was Maddie, she was a sweetheart and quite bubbly, she kept checking to see if I needed anything else, and above all asked about allergies at the onset. Thank you!!!! The vibe was cozy, casual and modern. Really busy and now I understand why:) The burger was cooked perfectly, garnished with grilled onions, shredded lettuce and aoli. The fries were tasty and thankfully not salty. Food took a while to come out but arrived fresh so the cuppuccino was a nice hold-over. Beatrix is also part of LettuceEats group so xou can get points or pay tabs with points if you are part of their rewards program. I'm definitely coming back! Great experience all in all, the only area for improvement is the hostess who ignored me standing there until I interrupted her scrolling her phone then eventually just sat myself down and borrowed a menu from the table next to me.

My friends and I made a quick stop into Beatrix for some drinks and apps. Since the menu isn't super broad, we decided to stick with appetizers and they definitely did the job. The spicy tuna crispy rice was the star of the show. It was incredibly fresh with the perfect crunch. The whipped feta was also a surprising favorite, especially with the honey on top which added a really nice touch. The crackers it was served with wouldn't have been my first choice, but it was still really delicious overall. Great spot if you're looking to grab a few drinks and share some tasty apps.

While staying in town nearby I came here for breakfast... I chose this place because the reviews I saw were all great and once I got there, I understood why! Service was very helpful, friendly, a nice! The menu for breakfast is very good and they have a very popular and amazing coffee bar with lots of pastry options too. I chose their Bacon, Egg, & Cheddar Sandwich and asked for hash browns with it and for those to be extra crispy. Starting with their regular coffee - it was great! Then the food came out relatively quickly and looked amazing! The egg was PERFECTLY (ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY!) cooked! The sandwich came together and tasted amazing... I especially loved the bites of freshly sliced jalapeño and the arugula in the sandwich too!! The has browns were made the way I asked and tasted sooo good! Overall, I would definitely recommend giving them a try and I can see why the reviews were so good! My visit was very nice.

The vibes and inside here is super cute, from the sit down area all the way to the cafe/bakery ordering counter. The food is a bit on the pricier side and the food doesn't have anything too different or too much flavor. The service was really fast and good - just an average place in river north in my opinion. Nothing wrong with that!

This place is inside a hotel that has a separate entrance. Food is good and family friendly. Prices are decent.

Went here for a diva brunch and it was kinda mid. Got the avocado toast based on a rec from a friend and i could make better at home. The poached egg was also split and served with a bunch of water, not obsessed. Went here for happy hour as well because it was right below our hotel and the tuna crispy rice was not bad.

This time I took a friend just to the bakery because she is gluten free. She appreciated all the gluten free and vegan options and settled on the brownie and cookie. One bite and I know what joy looks like on her face. She lives in NYC and is researching to see if Beatrix is located in any Marriott. I know next time I come to NYC she is going to ask me to find a way to bring sweets home.

We ate at Beatrix's 3 times during our Chicago visit. The service was excellent each time! Every coffee we ordered was delicious and the food did not disappoint. I think my favorite dish was their enchiladas and I really enjoyed their lavender honey latte. Highly, highly recommend making reservations to avoid waiting 20-45 minutes for a table during brunch/dinner rush.

Unfortunately Machine was not open, which is downstairs from this place, so we went here. Usually there is a bouncer outside, covering both places, but no one was at the door so me and The Queen walked upstairs. The bouncer was upstairs and saw us come in, so he asked for ID. He explained that everyone gets card before they come in, which is not a issue for me. The overall vibe, for me, was definitely a frat hangout vibe. There are arcade games all over the place and cutesy names for beers and cocktails, like the Froot Loops (vodka, coriander honey, oat milk, shochu, saline, milk carton, and froot loops). Man I do not do cocktails and this is the reason why. There is too much going on in that glass for me to deal with. Prices for cocktails range from $14-$15. BFF #1 got a vodka soda for $13, but looking at the size of the glass, it was on the small side. BFF #1 said it was on the weak side. I was happy to hear that there was prosecco, so I got that. The Doctor showed up and got a beer. The selection of beers was limited from what I could see on the wall, maybe there was a list someone else behind the bar. The bartender was a really sweet, she was all smiles and kept calling me baby, which was so funny to me. I tipped her well because she was great on them pours of prosecco. We did not do food as we were heading to Club Lago for dinner and I didn't realize that they had food until I checked into Yelp and saw the online menu. The Queen actually went to a DJ set here with Roosevelt, I believe, and said it was a good event. Not a place I would normally hang out in, but I can see the appeal for folks in their 20s as I would definitely say outside of The Queen, the three of us were the oldest folks in there. Lots of people taking Instagram photos and posing or making short videos with those ring lights. I imagine it can get super loud when it is busy, but that is a vibe for some folks. I would say if that is your thing, this is the place for you.

We ordered a flight of whiskey sours, which contained whiskeys from Japan, Vietnam, and Wisconsin. I also was able to order an amaretto sour, which they made with freshly hand beaten egg whites, which was a nice cherry on the top. As far as the whiskey flights go, I think the best one was the Vietnam flight because it had a slightly lemongrass twang and was a little bit lighter than the other two. The heaviest one was the Wisconsin which came with a little bit of a bite at the end, but it still wasn't bad if you're trying to blackout on a $15 budget. I would definitely come back with a larger group this seems like a great place, but is a little bit loud- so if you be prepared to yell or wear earplugs. We were searching frantically for a patio we could have dinner on because the weather was too perfect to be inside and somehow, Girl & The Goat had space available last minute. After a quick wait, we were seated with menus in no time. We started off with the tropic like it's hot cocktail which was the most refreshing and delicious cocktail I've ever had. Dangerously delicious but also weirdly felt like I was drinking a healthy green juice. For dinner, two of us split a bunch of different plates like the roasted asparagus, salmon poke, shrimp salad, and kohlrabi salad. Each dish they brought out was more incredible than the last, and those four dishes were plenty of food. We left perfectly full but the food was so fresh and light, we didn't feel too weighed down. From the list, I honestly can't even say what my favorites were, but our server recommended all of them so we have him to thank. The salmon poke was delicious and so fresh and honestly such a solid choice. If you only get one thing (don't. get like 2 plates per person prob) that is the one. Only thing to note is that the patio is on a kind of busy street and if you go on a weekend night it can get crazy loud when those weird quad bikes drive past blasting music at an absurd volume. Go here, you will love it. Get all of the amazing food and at least one cocktail bc they are delicious.

We both ordered the 1/2 fried chicken (he ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered the Llewellyn fried chicken), specifically requesting all dark meat. Round 1: The chicken arrived as all white meat. We sent it back. Round 2: My boyfriend's plate was corrected, but mine came out with two thighs and two wings. Ready to eat at this point, I just sent the wings back. Round 3: They finally brought out the correct drumsticks. The excuse given by our waiter was that someone in the kitchen couldn't read English, causing a language barrier. I'll leave it to others to decide how they feel about that as an excuse. But what I will say is that a language barrier in the kitchen is a management problem, not a customer problem, and it should never result in a guest sending their plate back twice. While mistakes happen, the food itself was a letdown once we finally ate. My boyfriend's cheddar waffle was completely uncooked and raw in the center, and both the waffle and his fried chicken thighs had a strange, off-taste to them. What really ruined the experience, though, was the lack of management. The manager was actively walking around the dining room the entire time but never once stopped by our table to apologize for the multiple mix-ups or the raw food. For the price point, the service and quality control here need serious work. I'll stick to the Miami location.
