We loved Remington's! From the personable and kind staff to the tasty dishes. The crab cakes and oysters were incredibly fresh! The drinks were also very good. We came back a second time to get more of the sticky pork belly bites, they were so delicious!

We went here for a work dinner. So price was not something we had to worry about, but it is more on the expensive side. We ended up paying $100+ per head, but that included appetizers that were shared, drinks, entrees, and desserts. Service was great. Attentive but not stalking. Location was great (right across from the bean). Ambiance was exactly what you expect, posh and moody and perfect.

First time visiting. We found it as we walked by. It was a very busy day in the city. We also made reservations but they were able to seat us earlier. We sat by the bar in a booth. The space is cozy with good themed music playing. I loved siting by the window people watching on a snowy day. Our waitress Aby B. was amazing. Very polite and full of energy. Everything she suggested was delicious. For appetizers w e had the Lobster Deviled Eggs, Sticky Pork Belly Bites, Bacon & Potato Croquettes. For our main dish we enjoyed the BBQ Ribs, Shepherds Pie, and the BBQ Salmon. There really wasn't anything we did not like. All the dishes were delicious. We are visiting and will definitely put this restaurant on our to return list

I stopped by Remington's on the way home from Pilates (I was famished). Remingtons is located conveniently across the street from the Chicago Bean on Michigan Avenue. Though I reserved a booth in the main dining area, I was seated by the window in the bar area at a high boy. Not as comfortable as a booth but I had a killer view. This is St. Patrick's day weekend so the city is vibrant with people from all walks of life in town to see the river "turn" green. Now about the food. I started with a cup of shrimp chowder. A bit sweet due to the corn but still tasty. For my lunch, I ordered the Wrightwood salad and unfortunately I did not care for it. The flavors were not coming together for me at all. My waitress was super nice and asked if I wanted to exchange my meal. This time I went with her initial recommendation and ordered the filet sliders with a side of Brussels sprouts. JACKPOT! The sliders were tender and the Brussels sprouts were flavor. Both have pungent flavors, bleu cheese on the sliders and the balsamic in the brussel sprouts, was just a lot. I would order again but separately. Sorry guys, no pictures for the sliders and Brussel sprouts. I would definitely return, during warmer weather when I can sit on the patio and enjoy the city over a nice meal.

Had a small group at Remingtons last and a solid experience. The meal and service were fabulous ! I will say the ambiance was not great but it was NRA restaurant show in town and everything was packed. We had oysters for one of the apps and crab cakes for the other. Oysters were absolutely fantastic! Crab cakes was very good but not making my top 10. I had the filet sliders and the were cooked perfectly! The person next to me had the Tuna #8 and it was also fantastic!

The food may look simple but the it's amazing, truly better than expected. The ambiance was great and service was on point, (thank you Arthur and Abby!). You are getting what you pay for when you come here for sure. One small complaint, I wish they had more restrooms, not just one stall for women.

Came to Remington for restaurant week lunch, and they actually have pretty good deal for $30. The appetiser lobster and boil egg is sooooo good, I enjoy it so much and wish I have more. For the main, I have the salmon. The chef has cooked it with care, it is moist inside. The dessert is brownie. It is good, however, I hope the ice cream is bigger. The service is great and attentive, and I will come back for other food!

This place is awesome, perfect place for night out. It's located right next to millennium park on the east loop of Chicago. The staff are super friendly and make lots of great recommendations. Classic stake house vibes and cool ambiance. I was able to try the Mac and cheese and the French dip sandwich both of which knocked it out of the park 10/10 would recommend and have again. The Mac and cheese has the really nice breaded crust and very cheesy and creamy. The French dip sandwich has some really nice and tasty beef and comes with a rich dipping sauce. The hostess was amiss to accommodate our larger party with little notice and seated us in a nice quiet private room. Great experience.

Wanted some place sorta up scale for our Anniversary. I put Anniversary on the reservation and once again the restaurant failed to acknowledge it. Why have it on open table if they don't even say anything. Pace of service was pretty good except when we sat with empty tea glasses. We had two people serving us and the lack of refills surprised me. The Croquettes were really good. Nice and crispy outside and soft and potato-y on the inside. Dinner was Salmon and Asparagus and Filet and Baked Potato with a shared side of Spätzle bacon n cheese. My salmon was wonderful and I had a ton of asparagus. A couple were a bit woodie and should have been cut shorter or pealed. But most were very tender. Husband said his filet was amazing and he ate every bit of his potato. Over all a very enjoyable dinner.

What are the happy hour specials and is it bar only?

Not sure about happy hour specials but no, it is certainly not a bar only. They have a very nice big bar area with high top seating up in the front and they also have traditional dining seating in the back...

    Does this restaurant take cash?

They take everything but a check.

    Is it loud inside?

It entirely depends on what day you go. We went on a early weekday and it was not busy. There was no probably talking amongst our table of 6. Weekends are probably very different.

    Does Remington s take reservations?

Yes they do, I believe through OpenTable (or go straight to their website).

    Do you allow dogs outside?

    Yes, our patio is dog-friendly!

Is this a kid friendly restaurant? My sons name is Remington and want to take him

Yes on kids!! There is a kids menu and they give the kids Wikki Stixs to play with!!

Do I need a reservation to get a table?

We always suggest reservations through our website. We look forward to seeing you soon!…

I actually love coming to eat early because the servers are a little more attentive since they just started their shift and the service is a little faster as there are less tables. Let me tell you, though, whatever we came it was quite busy with graduations and family dinners-which I didn't mind at all! What ate a relatively large meal as I had eaten a smaller lunch. We started off with the wedge salad and a yellowtail sushi roll. The wedge salad was pretty average, but the dressing was really delicious. The yellowtail was also pretty good and the jalapeño topping gave an extra kick last minute. For the entrées, we ordered the scallops as well as the pan seared Chilean Seabass. The scallops are buttery, rich, and had a perfect crispy crust. The Seabass was flaky and light-overall a very good combination of flavors. We got a side of the broccolini and then the crème brûlée and a piece of Keylime pie to go. Overall a very filling and delicious meal-I was pleasantly surprised with the scallops and how light the sea bass was.

After we sat down, our server took her sweet time getting to us and was largely absent the entire visit while the servers for the others tables were attentive and present as I've come to expect. We started with the Crispy Brussels and Burrata Toast which was an amazing and fun combination of flavors textures with the sherry glaze and pickled onions providing a perfect counter to the richness of the cheese. Our second course was the Gage Caesar which we've had before and have enjoyed sharing multiple times, but this time the lettuce was full of grit as if the prep chef did not even bother washing the lettuce. The server never came by to check on us so I had to wave the manager to complain about the salad. The server also never checked to see if we wanted refills on our cocktails so we placed our orders with the manager. The final dish was the venison burger which was perfectly cooked and seasoned if you like venison, which I do so we enjoyed that greatly. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.

My daughter asked to come here so we came downtown on a Friday around 7:30pm and it was pretty crowded, but by it only being two of us our wait time was less than 10 minutes. Bib on, gloves on, time to dig in... My daughter ordered the bag with shrimp, crab legs, corn and potatoes and I ordered lobster tails, corn and potatoes and two lemonades (lemonades were delicious!) We ordered our food with the everythang sauce (which is a mix of all their sauces) and it was really good and really flavorful. Messy is to be expected but surprisingly the food mess was manageable and did not take away from my dining experience. The amount of crab legs in my bag to me did not justify $32 and if it wasn't for the potatoes and two corns I'm sure I would of still been hungry. Seafood boils are not a cheap experience neither, our meals with the two lemonades and no alcohol was $110, so definitely not an every weekend dining option, but leaving I did see on their info board that their shrimp, crab bags are $28 Monday - Thursday and they look to have a pretty good happy hour so this might be a reason for a quicker return. The inside of the restaurant is so nice and cozy, though they also offer covered patio seating if you prefer the outdoors. We sat inside for our 5:00pm reservation for a table of four, which I booked easily ahead of time. What truly sets this place apart is their incredible accommodation for dietary restrictions. Because I have celiac disease and am listed as a vegetarian on OpenTable, the host thoughtfully brought a separate vegan menu right to our table without us even having to ask. Their main menu also has multiple items clearly marked as gluten-free or gluten-free available, and best of all, they use separate fryers to prevent cross-contamination. I let our server know right away that I have celiac, and she reassured me that the kitchen would take every precaution to make sure my food was entirely safe. We started off with the arancini, which is made gluten-free in a separate fryer and was absolutely to die for. For my main course, I had the gluten-free radiatori tossed in a spicy vodka sauce, and it was so good that I ate every single bite. To top it all off, we shared two desserts between us: the panna cotta and the flourless chocolate cake, both of which were delicious. To drink, I enjoyed a refreshing Aperol Spritz followed by a glass of the moscato. From the top-notch allergy safety to the amazing drinks and food, everything was excellent. This is a must-visit spot, especially if you need gluten-free or vegetarian options!
