We went here for a work dinner. So price was not something we had to worry about, but it is more on the expensive side. We ended up paying $100+ per head, but that included appetizers that were shared, drinks, entrees, and desserts. Service was great. Attentive but not stalking. Location was great (right across from the bean). Ambiance was exactly what you expect, posh and moody and perfect.

First time visiting. We found it as we walked by. It was a very busy day in the city. We also made reservations but they were able to seat us earlier. We sat by the bar in a booth. The space is cozy with good themed music playing. I loved siting by the window people watching on a snowy day. Our waitress Aby B. was amazing. Very polite and full of energy. Everything she suggested was delicious. For appetizers w e had the Lobster Deviled Eggs, Sticky Pork Belly Bites, Bacon & Potato Croquettes. For our main dish we enjoyed the BBQ Ribs, Shepherds Pie, and the BBQ Salmon. There really wasn't anything we did not like. All the dishes were delicious. We are visiting and will definitely put this restaurant on our to return list

I stopped by Remington's on the way home from Pilates (I was famished). Remingtons is located conveniently across the street from the Chicago Bean on Michigan Avenue. Though I reserved a booth in the main dining area, I was seated by the window in the bar area at a high boy. Not as comfortable as a booth but I had a killer view. This is St. Patrick's day weekend so the city is vibrant with people from all walks of life in town to see the river "turn" green. Now about the food. I started with a cup of shrimp chowder. A bit sweet due to the corn but still tasty. For my lunch, I ordered the Wrightwood salad and unfortunately I did not care for it. The flavors were not coming together for me at all. My waitress was super nice and asked if I wanted to exchange my meal. This time I went with her initial recommendation and ordered the filet sliders with a side of Brussels sprouts. JACKPOT! The sliders were tender and the Brussels sprouts were flavor. Both have pungent flavors, bleu cheese on the sliders and the balsamic in the brussel sprouts, was just a lot. I would order again but separately. Sorry guys, no pictures for the sliders and Brussel sprouts. I would definitely return, during warmer weather when I can sit on the patio and enjoy the city over a nice meal.

Came to Remington for restaurant week lunch, and they actually have pretty good deal for $30. The appetiser lobster and boil egg is sooooo good, I enjoy it so much and wish I have more. For the main, I have the salmon. The chef has cooked it with care, it is moist inside. The dessert is brownie. It is good, however, I hope the ice cream is bigger. The service is great and attentive, and I will come back for other food!

This place is awesome, perfect place for night out. It's located right next to millennium park on the east loop of Chicago. The staff are super friendly and make lots of great recommendations. Classic stake house vibes and cool ambiance. I was able to try the Mac and cheese and the French dip sandwich both of which knocked it out of the park 10/10 would recommend and have again. The Mac and cheese has the really nice breaded crust and very cheesy and creamy. The French dip sandwich has some really nice and tasty beef and comes with a rich dipping sauce. The hostess was amiss to accommodate our larger party with little notice and seated us in a nice quiet private room. Great experience.

Wanted some place sorta up scale for our Anniversary. I put Anniversary on the reservation and once again the restaurant failed to acknowledge it. Why have it on open table if they don't even say anything. Pace of service was pretty good except when we sat with empty tea glasses. We had two people serving us and the lack of refills surprised me. The Croquettes were really good. Nice and crispy outside and soft and potato-y on the inside. Dinner was Salmon and Asparagus and Filet and Baked Potato with a shared side of Spätzle bacon n cheese. My salmon was wonderful and I had a ton of asparagus. A couple were a bit woodie and should have been cut shorter or pealed. But most were very tender. Husband said his filet was amazing and he ate every bit of his potato. Over all a very enjoyable dinner.

Beautiful, elegant, delicious. Reasonable prices for Chicago area! $$$/$$$$ Two people splitting a literal meal: $60-70. We ordered a the french dip to split, brussels, and lobster deviled eggs. We still had brussels leftover when we were finished. Price: 9/10 Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 We walked up to the counter on the right side inside the building to find a host. Asked and received a table outside. We even asked for a different table because of the sun; no issues! Super nice! They have indoor and patio seating, which is out by the road. The car noise is blocked off by the stairs to the parking garage downstairs. Pedestrians are blocked by plants which is super nice. High tables inside have coat hangers directly under the table. Many reservation rooms. Definitely nice for a late date night. Bathrooms are down a flight of stairs. It wasn't super busy at 12pm, an hour after they open. By the time we left, there were about 5-6 tables occupied. One thing that did bother me though was seating a table inside next to us so their feet were by our faces. Brussels were delicious, lobster deviled eggs were great, and the french dip was perfect. The french dip: meat was quite rare which was perfect in my opinion. Horseradish wasn't overpowering, and the shaved prime rib was sliced beautifully. I added a dash of salt and some black pepper in my au jus drip to get those flavors popping. Lobster deviled eggs: 8/10 - we were given the option to add another half instead of ordering two orders (6). Delicious, lobster flavor was all there, not too bland or tasting "too fake." Unfortunately some of the egg whites were less than a half from peeling. Brussels: I loved that they had square slices of bacon in the brussels instead of crumbled. I almost choked a few times from inhaling the spicy vinegar jalapeño before them even entering my mouth lol.

Janae is the best. Food is fantastic and service is impeccable. 5 stars all around. The salad the fettuccine, and the prime rib are all fantastic

I scoured the internet for a place close to my hotel to eat and was excited to come here. I was looking forward to the lobster deviled eggs and cornbread. Sadly they were out of cornbread I ordered the chicken entree and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels had way too much vinegar. I had to drain each one prior to eating. The rotisserie chicken was cold and a little bland swimming in its au jous. The potatoes were great (can't really mess that up haha) Service was solid. I was sad to see this place add a 3.5% admin fee. It's not like it's a cheap place, I spent $70 by myself with no alcoholic beverages. Was tacking on an extra $2 really necessary? Insulting to be honest. Raise your prices if you need to. It's not a good look on the bill and I'm sure some people take that out on the wait staff (not me though. Still tipped 20%) Ambiance was nice, I won't be back due to the stupid admin fee and kind of meh food. If i did return id stick to appetizers and hopefully they'll have enough cornbread

Came for a quick lunch. I would say do not get the skillet cornbread. It is essentially all egg... Like a frittata not cornbread. Took two bites and immediately put my fork down because it was not worth eating. But on the other hands, I enjoyed all three entrées that we got. The French dip, chicken dip, and shrimp Cajun fettuccine. The French dip was a bit dry, but was good. Out of the three, chicken dip was the best.

Nice spot but a few issues. I had an 8:30 reservation and got a call in the afternoon asking if we could come in earlier as the kitchen would be closing early due to rain in the forecast. I moved it up to 8. Got a text around 7:40 advising my table was ready, so already felt rushed. With that being said, the prime rib was done nicely. The server was nice but slow to follow-up based on how slow the place was and felt like she kept pushing for a more expensive item. Maybe it was just a bad night but overall I was overwhelmed.

Some friends and I chose this as one wanted a steak and the other wanted somewhere close to The Art Institute. Win win! We caught them before what I would assume would be the dinner rush. Sat by the open doors as it was a nice day. Good music was being played on the corner so that was a bonus. I got the prime rib which came with a loaded baked potato (must've missed that on the menu), one friend had the cajun shrimp pasta and the other had her steak. The prime rib also came with au jus and horseradish cream sauce. I ordered medium rare, it was more medium but that was fine with me. My friend was pleased with her steak as they had A-1 (no judgement!) and the pasta special was delicious. The margaritas were wonderful (I had 3) and the lemon drop martini was good as well. We also ordered the brussel sprouts which were cooked well and the garlic mashed. Had we realized the steaks came with the baked potato we would have passed on that. It did not go to waste as we ate half the steaks and had sides to bring home with.

What are the happy hour specials and is it bar only?

Not sure about happy hour specials but no, it is certainly not a bar only. They have a very nice big bar area with high top seating up in the front and they also have traditional dining seating in the back...

    Does this restaurant take cash?

They take everything but a check.

    Is it loud inside?

It entirely depends on what day you go. We went on a early weekday and it was not busy. There was no probably talking amongst our table of 6. Weekends are probably very different.

    Does Remington s take reservations?

Yes they do, I believe through OpenTable (or go straight to their website).

    Do you allow dogs outside?

    Yes, our patio is dog-friendly!

Is this a kid friendly restaurant? My sons name is Remington and want to take him

Yes on kids!! There is a kids menu and they give the kids Wikki Stixs to play with!!

Do I need a reservation to get a table?

We always suggest reservations through our website. We look forward to seeing you soon!… Read more

No notes. The sandwich had candied bacon on it with this perfect sweet flavor, and it normally comes with honey Dijon--but I don't do Dijon, so I swapped it for this garlic sauce ‍ And when I say that garlic tanginess mixed with the sweet candied bacon... whew. Chef's kiss. Absolute perfection. My boyfriend got the steak wok bowl with corn, broccoli, brown rice, and some other veggies--and I definitely stole a few bites It was SO good. Like... flavorful, fresh, just everything. The whole vibe? Perfect for a lunch date. The ambiance was cute, relaxed, and just right And I loved that they serve room temperature water (because ice? not my thing ‍) But let's talk about the real star--our waiter Eli He was AMAZING. Super personable, funny, and just a whole vibe. He had the cutest red cat-eye nails and burgundy hair accents--like, style on point He told us he manages both the Gold Coast and River North locations, so I'm definitely hoping we run into him again. And when me and my boyfriend were holding hands at the end, he goes, "Aww this is so cute. I'm not jealous though" we all cracked up. Just made the experience even better. We wanted to try this happy hour out as it is on one of our apps that we like to use that offer 20% back when you use the app On this occasion, the bar wasn't it too crowded, but we were able to get a seat right at the bar and that was enjoyable. They had nice music playing the TV was really clear and not to overlord in general for the whole establishment. For happy hour, we got popcorn chicken, which was really good. We also tried the spinach artichoke dip. The dip it itself was OK, but it didn't seem like it was thoroughly warm in the middle, but the chips were really good and the flavor was basic. For drinks we did try a couple of different drinks. I'm mostly stuck to the happy hour red wine on this occasion it was an Australian red wine. My husband tried a couple different cocktails. He started with the hot and toddy which is not on the happy hour, but he enjoyed it as it warmed him up. Then he moved over to the espresso martinis that were on the happy hour, and those were very tasty. I will say that they make the espresso fresh right in front of you which makes for a really good espresso martini. I also tried the Cosmo and there wasn't anything too special about that, but it was well balanced, and I did like the tangy flavors that you got from the lemon. Overall, a solid happy hour venue if in the area we would entertain coming here again. Because it's an Australian restaurant they had some really interesting things on their dinner dining menu. To include kangaroo burgers. So that's something to look out for I will also note that they had a pretty good bakery pastry section, so it will be interesting to see what other people thought of actually dining in the restaurant.

However, sometimes there any. My family and I were just wrapping up our annual holiday trip to The Drake (we've been coming for 15 years). I had a short window while my husband got a car and a hungry kid. Coq D'or was the only open restaurant at The Drake at the time so we went there. We waited for almost 15 minutes for our server(I had to ask 2 different staff members to get her). Someone brought us waters in the meantime and I saw other servers look at us so we didn't exactly sneak in. I ordered us a grilled cheese to share when our server finally showed up and kept us with waters, not knowing how long the food would take and when my husband would be back to pick us up. Our sandwich came out fairly quickly, but was, unfortunately, the worst grilled cheese I've ever had. When I got our check, I noticed that she'd brought us a children's grilled cheese (I didn't know this was an option as I'd looked up the menu on line while waiting). It's possible that the food was so bad because it was from the children's menu- I've noticed since having kids that some restaurants serve their trash food to kids. We were starving and our server never checked back and I didn't want to drag my son and stroller and infant through the bar looking for her. I left her a note on the back of the credit card statement (with a 20% tip), which I've posted along with my review. Although from how I observed other tables were treated, ours was an isolated experience, I will never eat in this restaurant again and recommend others think twice before doing so as there are many other options in the area.

A drink at The Drake has been on my list probably since seeing "Risky Business," so it was a treat to finally get there. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and stepping into this Prohibition-era bar is indeed like stepping back in time (until you get to the TVs that is), from the decor to Bob the bartender who has been there for 31+ years. Service is what it is, but there is an interesting, immediate familiarity between staff and patrons, many of whom are locals. That said, it's nothing particularly extraordinary, in fact it's probably overpriced. The mixed drinks are generous in their alcohol content, though it's mostly all well spirits. The wine pours are generous as well. The food looked pretty good, the gentleman next to me was raving about his crab cake. In the end, I feel like this is a spot everyone should come to once, particularly in this area during the holidays.
