Loved the atmosphere inside with an elegant bar upon walking in. We ended up having a larger group so had to sit outside on a very hot day so was a little sad to miss out on the ambiance inside but the patio was so cute! I had the espresso martini and the brown butter old fashioned and both were delicious! The hosts were very nice to accommodate our fluctuating group size and my scallops were cooked very nicely. Would definitely go back!

Favorite place for brunch!! $35 bottomless and it includes espresso martinis, mimosas, or a seasonal cocktail is amazing because you don't have to stick to one drink the whole time. Servers were a 10/10 helping us enjoy our experience for our friend's bday. Love the breakfast croissant sandwich. The vibes in the big room with curtains are amazing for a large group

Jonathan our server made the night! Food was delicious from steaks to apps and especially the chimichurri sauce - but Jonathan was the highlight. Come for the food, stay for the Jonathan. Thank you for a wonderful night entertaining clients.

My partner made this reservation to celebrate my birthday! We are big steak people so we are always excited to try a new steak restaurant. Sophia did not disappoint! Ambiance and decor is top notch! This is SUCH a pretty spot! Very IG-worthy, with different details and moods on different walls. The bar was especially stunning. Service was impeccable. From the minute we walked in, the host and manager were friendly and personable. Our server was the right amount of conversational to make it feel personal but not overwhelmingly so. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and had great recs. When I asked about "Sophia style" he had great descriptions and recommended it as his personal go-to. The bus staff was also incredibly attentive and wiped down the table between courses (a detail of fine dining that I think makes a huge difference!) Now the FOOD! Wow the truffle fries were some of the best fries I've ever had in my life. Weird item to lock in on, I know, but a good fry tells you everything else will be amazing too. It was crispy on the outside and the perfect pillowy texture on the inside. The steaks and bacon were incredible. It was cooked exactly as I like (I like mine medium well and run into a lot of places undercooking it. I know, it's unpopular but I am also paying for what I want. So I appreciate the perfection from Sophia on this one!) and I really enjoyed it Sophia Style. I love that all steaks already come with the house steak sauce and steak salt at bare minimum. The chocolate cake was AMAZING. it's gigantic, they literally served it with a steak knife lol. It's hazelnut and chocolate so it has a very rich deep flavor. They brought it out with a candle for my birthday which was a nice touch! Sophia Steak made my birthday dinner feel very special and we cannot recommend it enough for your special occasion!

One of my sisters took me here for my birthday dinner. The service was A1! Very customer oriented and service was excellent. They kept the table clean, the water coming and always checked on us. We had the Rockefeller oysters, the scallops and potatoes, ribeye and filet mignon, brussels sprouts, meatballs, crab cake, truffle potatoes and birthday dessert. All were excellent but my favorites are the oysters, scallops and filet mignon. The meatballs were OK, nothing special and the brussels sprouts was OK as well. They have a great collection of cocktails and can make some off menu if you ask. They give you a welcome glass of champagne when you come in; the champagne is actually really delicious. Even though we came early in the evening, the place filled up quickly but was still comfortable and not really noisy. It's a beautiful restaurant; dark romantic and modern. I'll definitely be back for another birthday, girls night, or date. This place is expensive but it is worth an evening of being catered to with delicious food. They also printed menus with your name depending on the occasion and that's a nice sweet touch.

Came here Sunday night at 5 for a date! I was not feeling too great and the two gorgeous gals at the host desk went above and beyond trying to help!!!! Angels truly! I am still thinking about their kindness they really blew me away ! I always have great service and food at Sophia and yesterday was no different !

Sophia Steak is an upscale spot with a great vibe and truly patient attentive service. Even when it was busy we never felt rushed. The standout was the Potatoes and Caviar dish which is basically fancy tater tot style croquettes filled with raclette and topped with crème fraîche and Osetra caviar. Flavor wise it was absolutely amazing rich salty and addictive. The only issue was texture, the croquettes were a little mushy instead of crisp which knocked it down slightly. Still a great overall experience and I would definitely come back.

I had heard so much about Sophia Steak, so my expectations were high--but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The dining room felt very cramped and uncomfortably warm, even though we were not a large party. It took away from what should have been an enjoyable night out. The drinks were decent, and the crudo was easily my favorite dish of the night. Outside of that, the food was just okay and didn't justify the hype or the price point. For a steakhouse, I expected much more. The standout of the evening was the staff. Service was fast, attentive, and genuinely great from start to finish. They did everything right and were clearly well-trained. The decor is sexy and chic, which initially draws you in, but the layout and subpar food make the experience disappointing overall. One major downside: the restroom is up three flights of stairs, and the elevator wasn't turned on, which is extremely inconvenient and not very accessible. I'd consider coming back for drinks only, but beyond that, I don't see a reason to return. Style alone can't make up for an uncomfortable space and mediocre food.

the space is beautiful. our server was perfect. the apps (tuna tartar & lobster/shishito frito)z, drinks and steak were delicious. the chocolate cake was the best steak house dessert i've had in years! the sides were mid, but i would def go back again.

RW Review Located in River North (Downtown Chicago), street parking can be scarce so def look into SpotHero if you can't find a spot. SIL managed to snag a reservation for restaurant week Monday night dinner $60 pp. We really tried to order different things from each other to try a variety. First Course: Appetizers - Hamachi Crudo: Just ok, didn't wow me as much as the other dishes - Shrimp Scampi: This dish was amazing. Nothing small about these shrimps, they were humongous! Second Course: Entree We both opt in for steak! - Flat Iron 'Sophia Steak': Mine was crusted to perfection and I've never experienced a steak like that. Could use a tad little more seasoning but overall pretty good. Was so full could not finish it so I brought it home for my husband and he was pretty impressed. Stated some of the better steaks he'd had. SIL said hers was too peppery though. Third Course: Dessert - Sticky Toffee Banana Bread: Enjoyed the warmness of the banana bread but could have used more toffee and stickiness for me - Malted Milk Chocolate Sundae: Pretty ok & could also use more malted chocolate balls for me too Extras: - Truffle Parm Fries: SO GOOD I couldn't stop picking at it & that's what got me so full - Creamed Spinach: Def skip. I was expecting for the spinach pieces to still be intact but seems that it was chopped along the way Drinks: - Easy Breezy Beautiful Erratic: I really enjoyed this drink a lot. - Passion at the disco (non-alcoholic): Super tasty and my SIL enjoyed it All in all really enjoy my visit here and the service was impeccable. Our server was such a sweet lady and made sure we were take care of. Def will be back & already booked a table for next month!

Came here with a group of girlfriends for restaurant week, and we had a blast! The ambiance in here is great, the bar is adorned with this almost cloud-like design all along the top, and the art in the place is super interesting to immerse yourself in. To start- they personalized our menus which we LOVED. Such a fun and unique touch To drink, I had the Hot To Go which was a fun take on a spicy marg with mezcal. Loved this drink but would have loved it even more if it was tajin instead of a salt rim. Our group also ordered a few bottles of wine which I enjoyed too! To eat some of us decided to go with the Restaurant Week menu! I had the Hamachi Crudo, the Flat Iron 'Sophia Style' steak, some sides including Brussels and Bacon, the Truffle-Parm Fries, and the White Cheddar Gratin, and the Peanut Butter Cream Pie for dessert (they were out of the bread pudding). The food was excellent! We could not stop talking about the pb pie.. so so good! Overall we loved our meal (and our waiter, shout out to Brenton) so much that while we were sitting at dinner, we planned a brunch for the end of the month! Can't wait to come back and try this brunch menu (how could we say no to bottomless?!)!

Dinner here is effortlessly cute, Sophia's is heavy on the caviar and I'm absolutely here for it. I started with the Dry Decision cocktail, subbing in Hendrick's and blue cheese olives, which arrived accompanied by a caviar chip. The potatoes and caviar delivered a full, robust flavor profile without being overpowering. Pro tip: the lemon wedge is mandatory on the second bite, it brightens everything beautifully. For mains, the ribeye cooked medium+ was spot on, especially with the added chimichurri (a worthy upgrade). The creamed spinach was a favorite. The salmon, however, I could've done without, it didn't quite hold its own next to the rest of the table. We closed the night with the sticky toffee bread pudding. It didn't soar as high as expected, but it was still a warm, satisfying finish. There were a few additional items on the menu that caught my eye, so I look forward to returning. Overall: a chic, steakhouse with moody vibes and solid execution. Ideal for a dinner when the energy matters just as much as the food. Note: Table seating is fairly close so conversations tend to be communal rather than confidential. Also, a 20% automatic gratuity will be added.

Do I start with the ambiance or the service? That's always the dilemma. What hits you first is the beautiful décor, especially during the holidays. The light-filled entrance is festive and welcoming, and the bar (front and center as you walk in) is tastefully designed with warm, intimate tones. The bartender/server was informative, friendly, and refreshingly knew the dinner menu inside and out. Happy Hour is a great way to sample a few select appetizers and ease into the experience. The coconut shrimp is "expected, but the shrimp was tender! The potato croquettes were very tasty and hit the spot, along with the mildly spicy Nashville Chicken bites. This was a great start to the dining experience. Service across the board was impressive. From the host to the barback, runners, and management, everyone was attentive and on top of things. Tables were wiped clean between courses, and both the server and manager checked in just enough to feel cared for, not crowded. Now for the food... The au gratin potatoes were outstanding, and the Brussels sprouts are truly hard to beat. I loved the flavor of my ribeye, especially paired with the béarnaise sauce. The mushrooms were fine, nothing remarkable. But honestly, I just like mushrooms with my steak, so they did their job. Dessert sealed the deal. The chocolate ganache cake with hazelnut crunch was deeeeelicous. A little whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream might have taken it over the top, but I have zero complaints. And when I followed it with the Malted Milk Chocolate Sundae? Absolute perfection. This spot has officially landed on my updated list of Chicago favorites. I used to love Benny's Chophouse before it closed, and this restaurant has more than earned its place. I'll definitely be back.

All the premier dinners come with salad, cheese, fondue, and the chocolate fondue - You are just choosing what protein you would like. The Prince Geja combination has a little bit of everything. However, we most liked the seafood which includes lobster and the scallops were to die for! Also the beef also cooks well. Favorite dipping sauce included the pimento mayo, chimichurri, and garlic butter. The cheese fondue is quite rich and the bread is quite filling so maybe get as much cheese as you can on each piece of bread. The chocolate fondue, I think is actually the best course as the Belgium chocolate melts so well and has a decadent but not overly sweet flavor. It pairs well with all that is provided for dipping, which includes poundcake, rice Krispies, strawberries. They also have some liquor that they light on fire at first so you can roast the marshmallows. It is such a well thought out experience. Service flows very well from two waiters who take your order set up your fondue pots for each course, but be prepared to spend at least 2 hours on this experience. Check out the Groupon but also I read a review that they just tack on the extra $50 so it's not really too much of a savings. Not sure if this is true.

Also appreciated that they were accommodating for the vegetarian in our party. Everything except the cheese course can be made vegan friendly as well. The service was top notch! Appreciated that they called me ahead of time to confirm our reservation and ask about food allergies. All the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. They were quick to refill items and answer any questions we had. The location is classic fondue restaurant, cozy and romantic. However, also perfect for catching up with a friend. Back Again - Gemini Pt 2, but this time for brunch!…read more I enjoyed my first dinner experience here so much last week that we had to come right back to try their weekend brunch. From the start, the hostesses were inviting and lovely. The restaurant is very pretty, warmly blending a modern style with a touch of classic French bistro elegance. I'm mostly so impressed with how versatile the restaurant actually can be, shifting seamlessly from an elegant, upscale dinner setting with its beautiful U-shaped marble bar to a bright, whimsical, and enchantingly airy brunch setting. The fully opened bifold windows are adjacent to the pergola-topped patio, letting a glorious, cascading breeze drift through the space to create a wonderful indoor-outdoor flow and a lively weekend energy. Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered: Super Green Vegetable Salad: The kale, broccoli, avocado, asparagus, and peas were crisp and fresh. We loved this so much during our first dinner visit last week that we had to order it again for brunch! Spectacular! Nova Lox Platter: The wild salmon topped with diced red onion, capers, and hard-boiled egg crumble, served with an everything bagel and a side of chive cream cheese, was excellent. French Onion Frittata: The rich gruyère and caramelized onions were wonderful. If you're a French onion soup lover like me, this is a can't-miss!! Definitely will be reordered and often. Fantastic! Daily Omelette: Ordered from the special menu, featuring black truffle salsa, mascarpone, and Calabrian chile honey. It was absolutely phenomenal, perfectly cooked, and the flavor combination was incredible. Our server, Sarah, was excellent and made the experience even better - we even share the same name! The management team was also incredibly warm and attentive, stopping by our table to welcome us back. Returning twice in one week says it all. This restaurant has made it into my regular rotation and is hands down one of my new favorites!

I came here with three others and we all ordered different things from the brunch menu along with a few drinks. The atmosphere here is open, modern, and pretty eye catching, we all heard a few negative comments about brunch here and rather than just taking words of advice we came anyways. To be honest we should've went elsewhere, the only thing about the food that actually seemed to have any flavor was the fries and even they were a little salty like my wallet when we left LOL The Jumbo (not so much) Lump Crab Benedict at $25 was honestly boring lacking any flavor also it didn't even come with potatoes I ended up sharing my Lincoln Park Turkey Club that was good but even it was pretty basic at $21, the Burger at $21 literally looked like something off the kids menu the bun was bigger than the patty LOL and the Blackened Chicken Caesar at $19 was more like an appetizer size and the chicken at least it was juicy not dry. Other reviews about brunch here seem to be about the same and honestly I think it's funny they don't even try to elevate their food when so many say about the same things. I think the only reason why people come to this place is 1. It's located in Lincoln Park and 2. that makes it a trendy spot to eat. So why bother fixing anything when it's just trendy and flavorless Their brunch is mediocre but apparently dinner is where it's at. However after the experience with brunch I'm not even sure I would even go back. Come here for the staff eat at your own expense maybe your food will have flavor or not but honestly do what you want and keep it trendy

The music is also appropriate and plays at the perfect volume to be pleasant without forcing one to raise their voice. I tried the Green Daisy and a House Old Fashioned. The Green Daisy was boozy and had some herbaceous notes. A little tartness and a little sweetness helped balance the drink out and make for a phenomenal sipper. I loved the creativity with this one! The House Old Fashioned was also well done, assembled with quality ingredients in balance with one another. Nothing wrong with a well-executed classic. The prices are more or less reasonable considering the location and overall market, with bevies costing around $16. The bar staff is excellent! Very friendly and welcoming!
