The perfect location for a celebration or special occasion! Amazing interior, skyline views, outstanding food and service! Elevated Italian that still feels comfortable. Pro Tip: reservations are hard to come by but grab a seat at the bar for food and drinks!

(Kari's Rating 9.25/10) Came with a friend without a reservation on a Tuesday evening at 4 PM for an early dinner. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated right away in a small corner spot. We got a small spot in the corner and it was so beautiful with the sun setting. We were seated in our server Mark greeted us right away. He was having critically knowledgeable about the drink menu, and I ordered the L'Inizio. They gave us a little shot of vermouth as a palate cleanser. Mark told us that the food would just come out as it was ready. We ordered the deep-fried gnocchi, the Burrata salad, the tomato focaccia and for our mains we ordered a New York strip and the parpardalle a ragu. You can definitely tell the pasta was homemade, and the sauce was very light. The New York strip was delicious and cooked perfectly as I always get it medium rare-more on rare side. It was a lot of food as always and I had plenty of leftovers to take home. I was between the double chocolate cake and the pistachio, but I decided to go a limb and get the pistachio cake to go. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the pistachio dessert was and I definitely continue thinking about it. Would come back for the vibes and the server as Mark was incredibly personable!

YUM!! The bread is the best bread I've ever had I think. I could eat the whole loaf myself. Gnocchi was lovely for the app. Pasta wise, I enjoyed the arrabbiata a lot more than the linguini because I felt flavor fatigue faster with the linguini. That being said, they were both so delicious in their own right. Tiramisu was fantastic! Our server, Josiah, was super accommodating and helped recommend the dishes as well! The restaurant was packed as expected for a Sunday night so it was still a little wait even though we had a reservation. The views of the city from the big windows are spectacular. I'd love to visit again sometime!

Delicious meal, great ambiance, attentive service (shoutout to Megan), but yes it's expensive. Wish we also had a table by the window but it was a great view and people watching regardless. Loved the pasta bar and watching them hand make the pasta. What we got: - squash blossoms - came highly recommended by Megan as it's not a typical menu item. Was pleasantly surprised, almost like an elevated and Italian take on a jalapeño popper - braised short rib meatballs - so good and they look deceptively small but it's very meat forward - pappardelle - prob our fave dish of the night, also meat fwd and great flavor - Arabbiatta - amazing heat that builds. I usually go for a pasta with protein but this was amazing and a nice contrast to the richness of the pappardelle - chocolate mouse - Megan sent over a nice chocolate mousse to end the meal even though we were too full to order dessert and perfect nightcap - old fashioned - good but nothing to write home about and hate when places don't have the big rock ice - French 75 - nice and sour Already planning on coming back to try the rest of the menu and hopefully snag a table with a view.

Lettuce Entertain You has never let me down. Tuscan Italian handmade pasta. Second floor views of Lake Michigan and Chicago River. Marble, high ceilings, intimate and elegant style to this place. Thank you to the wonderful bartender for assisting me with a deep bourbon selection and explanation and opinion of the menu. I love this place. Thank you Tre Dita team and Chef Funke!

We got lucky and snagged a reservation for a Thursday evening at 6:30. We were seated promptly, shown the pasta lab on the way to our seats and for a chance to walk through the beautiful ambiance and decor around the restaurant on our way to our seats. What an incredible ambiance!! Beautiful and so picturesque. Great for a fancy date night, girls night or whatever you're looking for. We started with the Schiacciata Bianca (focaccia), the gnocchi fritti and gamberi in salsa verde (prawns). For pastas, we got the rigatoncini all'areabiata, cacio pepe and strozzapreti alla vaccinara (oxtail ragu). For meat, we got the pollo alla toscana (chicken) and for dessert we got the tiramisu. When I say that everything was esquisite I mean it. The focaccia is a must order. It's light, airy and fluffy. The gnocchi was basically cheese curds but in the most incredible sauce ever (I think it was the caccio pepe sauce) and when I say I could drink that sauce...oh my. The blue prawns were a complete hit too. The salsa verde is so herby and tasty! Couldn't help but keep the sauce and dip our bread in it. All 3 pastas were delicious! The pastas are all made fresh and you can tell. No bloating here! The arrabiata sauce did have a slight kick, but we loved it! Caccio Pepe was a classic, but this is one of the bests I've ever had. Still, my favorite was the oxtail ragu pasta. It was so incredibly flavorful that I couldn't help but ordering one to go. Finally, our meat dish was the chicken. I think this was my least favorite dish of the evening. Personally, next time I'd go for steak but we had a member of our party who doesn't eat beef and the waiter recommended the chicken. The flavor was good, but I didn't enjoy the texture. It felt a bit soggy and the sauce was missing something. Chicken wasn't the most tender I've had either. Slightly overcooked. Finally, the tiramisu was great! Not overly sweet, a bit strong on the espresso flavor but oh so delicious!! The service was also top notch between explaining the menu, giving recs and taking our picture we loved them!!

We loved our experience at Tre Dita but holy $$$$ get ready to spend some money. We got seated around 5 PM on a Saturday night and had a good view of the river/buildings. We were seated promptly and given menus and quickly ordered cocktails. Not sure if they were short staffed but from the time we ordered our cocktails to receiving cocktails and ordering food was at least 15-20 minutes. After this no other issues. What we ordered: -Schiacciata Bianca (5/5): Must have at the table, delicious, light, and warm -Gnocchi Fritti (4/5): Wonderful cheesy goodness -Alici Marinate (2.5/5): Anchovies were overly salted but the salsa verde made up for it -La Panzanella (5/5): The burrata made me feel like I was back in Italy. The cherry tomatoes were so crisp we were fighting over them. -Gnudi Di Spinaci (4/5): My husband loved these as they were made out of ricotta cheese but I thought there very heavy being made of ricotta. Still good but harder to eat. -Tiramisu (4/5): Decent and huge but beautiful

It was a lovely evening that was highlighted by the exceptional service. Decor was elegant and seating was comfy in the bar (although we thought it wouldn't be when first arriving). We decided to try Restaurant Week even though previous reviews of this event weren't great. We were pleasantly surprised by the portions - we had leftovers even - and everything was high quality and tasty. The desserts were weaker, but absolutely fine. Cocktails were fantastic. Obviously a good value during RW, but bring your wallet for the regular menu. Tip: Park Whiz at the Coast building next door for a much cheaper option.

Absolutely loved this restaurant!! My friend asked me to go to dinner with her because she had reservations and couldn't cancel last minute. Glad I was able to go because it has been on my list! It was busy when we arrived but we only had to wait a little bit until we were seated. It was packed but was not really loud. You could still hold your conversation without raising your voice. Loved everything we ordered. We got 2 salads....yes, we really ordered 2 salads. We both love salad and couldn't decide so we got both to share. We also got filet mignon and pasta to share! Everything we ordered was delicious. We definitely cleared both of the salads!! Loved the little spicy kick to the pasta and it was cooked to the perfect texture as well. The filet was perfect portion for the both of us. Of course, we both loved the arugula that came with it also. We were both so full but of course, there's always room for dessert! We decided on the olive oil cake. I've never had it before so I didn't know what to expect. My friend assured me that it was good and nice and light. When it came out and I tried it, I think I was hooked!!! It was delicious! Definitely was not disappointed and I want to come back again for other items on the menu we didn't get to try!

What a wonderful dining experience. The view, bar and dining room decor, service, and the remarkable food. 4 of us had dinner and worked our way thru the menu. A must start is the Schiacciata Focaccia since you'll want it for soaking up all the sauces! For appetizers we had the giant squash blossoms and the Burrata E Crudo with prosciutto that was the best I've ever had. It melted in my mouth. The pastas come in sharing size so we picked 4. The linguine limone had a terrific lemon flavor, trofie al pesto was smooth and creamy, my favorite was the pici al cacio e pepe, the most unique was the gnudi di Spinaci, which was little round dumplings and mushrooms. We shared a NY strip which was perfectly cooked and sliced. We left room for dessert which were the tiramisu classico with a thin chocolate piece of art on top and the delce al Pistachio which was a dacquoise cake with pistachio praline. What a fantastic meal.

My mom and I had a lovely evening dining at Tre Dita. We were hotel guests and requested reservations ahead of time. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and we were glad to have a table by the window. The service was A+ and they really made my mom feel special (as she was celebrating a special occasion). We wanted to try so many things on the many but wanted to be cautious and not order too much food. Here are my thoughts on everything that we tried! Fiori di Zucca (squash blossoms): So delicate and yummy! Schiacciata Bianca (focaccia bread): Soft, warm and delicious. I wanted to order a 2nd! Polpette di Brasato (meatballs): Delicious! Again, I wanted to order a 2nd but my belly was getting full. Cacio de Pepe: I would have preferred a smaller pasta and more cheese/pepper flavor, but it was still a good dish. Gnudi di Spinaci: Oh my, so soft and flavorful! I think this was my favorite dish. Dolce Al Pistacchio: Surprisingly good pistachio cake!! Tiramisu Classico: Whoa! This was amazing and so balanced. I typically don't like tiramisu, but this changed my mind. Very well done!

TL; DR: Amazing Pasta, Top Notch Service, & Nice Views I visited this place on a Tuesday night. We had a lovely table with a view of the river and felt well taken care of by Quinn, our server. Although the space had some tall ceilings and many tables, the volume of the restaurant was never too loud. I will point out that going on a Tuesday did mean a little bit more business wine and dine tables than usual, but it was still great. The drink menu was vast and listed multiple signature drinks, wines, and spirits. The pasta was delicious and would go back for more. The short rib pasta was recently added the menu and is rich and amazing. The arrabbiata was fresh and the cacio e pepe was a classic. I was also was shocked to know it was a Lettuce Entertain You spot (great for racking up points!). Can't wait to revisit and try more pastas!

Absolutely stunning restaurant located in the St. Regis. The bar alone is gorgeous, and I would have been perfectly happy dining just there, but the view of the city from the dining room is truly to die for. Service was good, though something felt slightly off. Maybe just a bit awkward. The hostess came across as a little snobbish, though that could be my expectation for the usual warm, smiling welcome at most establishments. Our server was friendly and attentive, but there was just a subtle, hard-to-describe vibe that felt off. The food, however, was phenomenal and hands down some of the best Italian I've ever had. Battuta di Manzo: 9.5/10 Hits all the taste sensations-acidic, fatty, salty, and umami. Only reason it's not a 10 is that the crostini was a little hard to bite, but I would definitely order this again. Fiori di Zucca: 9/10 The best stuffed squash blossoms I've ever had. Perfectly crispy and not overloaded with stuffing which I appreciate, as I'm not a huge ricotta fan. The herb seasoning on top added a great depth of flavor. Linguine al Limone: 8.5/10 Perfectly balanced citrus that wasn't overpowering. Cooked al dente! Rigatoncini all'Arrabbiata: 8/10 Again, perfectly al dente with a flavourful sauce. Could have used a bit more spice. Pici Cacio e Pepe: 10/10 My favorite dish of the night. Perfect in every way. Not much else to say other then that you have to order this! Steak: 9/10 Honestly don't remember the cut, but it was incredible-perfectly cooked, super beefy, and easily one of the best steaks I've ever had.

Finished the dinner with 6 oz filet mignon. Medium, cooked perfectly , tender meat. Highly recommend. Along with the brussel sprouts and the sweet potatoes. Both had great flavors and are easy shareable. The thick cut bacon was mouthwatering . The desserts were good. The chocolate pie and the crème brûlée. If you were to skip on dessert you wouldn't be missing out. The cocktails were delicious. I recommend the bees knees and the Lillet Rosé.

I''ll start with the great atmosphere, dark, intimate, and lively with French flair as soon as you walk in the doors, very relaxing vibe & comforting place. Our reservation was for the outfldoor patio, however the temperature dropped drastically 15-20 degrees by the time we arrived so sitting outside wasn't going to fly. I immediately asked them to put us on the first come first serve list while we found a spot on a couch to wait & had a glass of wine. The waiter in charge of the waiting area passed us a few times before bringing us drink & food menus, so if we wanted to order apps while waiting we could have, I liked that. We only waited maybe 30 min then we're brought to the downstairs bar for seating, which we loved, we like a bar spot, more casual even if in an upscale joint, lol. Our bartender was great, she was engaging, informative, quick wit, on point with the drinks & food recommendations. Ok let's start with appetizers, I heard that the Fried Chicken here was too die for & the trick is to order it as an appetizer, so that's what I did & it comes with a side of cipollini gravy while Jen got the crab cake. The fried chicken was outstanding, crunchy, moist, tender, seasoned perfectly then dipped in the cipollini gravy took it to a whole-nother level. The Crab cake was more crab than cake, so flavorful & did not need anything to make it better, "this is the best crab cake ive ever had" came out of Jen's mouth after just 1 taste. Jen had the 10 oz Ribeye while I had the double cut Berkshire pork chop & let me tell you these two entrees food not disappoint. The steak was slightly charred & seasoned perfectly, giving you that delicious marbled flavor that let's the flavor of the steak knock you out with every bite. The pork chop..... the frikken pork chop was out of this world, fork tender, juicy, succulent, seasoned just right, cutting it was like a hot knife through butter & the pork melted in your mouth. This meal / food hit all the high notes of a top notch establishment. The chef, the waiter, the bartender, the damn hostess, we're all ON POINT, making the entire evening great. The upstairs bar is open for anyone without a reservation, but the downstairs bar is not & the staff stuck to their policy & turned away 20 different couples that tried to sit at the bar without a hostess seating them. I liked that they did that, making my 3 month wait justified & not anyone can just walk in & pop a squat downstairs. Go to Bavettes at least once & tell me if you agree or disagree with my review.

Especially not a good dinner option despite being excited for it for our Valentine's Day dinner. Food- really liked Caesar salad and Mac n cheese. However, this is a steak house. We ordered ribeye in medium and NY strip in medium rare. However, ribeye was medium rare and ny strip was cooked medium well. I considered telling our waiter but he never appeared at our table to ask about how our food was. He showed up half an hour later to ask if we wanted dessert. I didn't eat my ny strip because it was so dry and my husband had a few bites. Service- as mentioned above, the server barely showed up. Also our food arrived later than everyone next to us. The couple next to us got sat down after we put in our entree order and get they received their entree before we did. No apologies or context given on the delay. Also, I know they offer half orders for certain dishes like salad for takeouts and deliveries and saw older TikTok videos that mentioned getting half portions too. We asked if they do half portions so we can try more items in the menu, we simply got a "NO" without any kindness or explanation given. It was said as if we were asking them something stupid. Ambiance- I think the bar area is nice looking, but we were sat in the basement. It was crammed, the tables were small, and because it was a small room, you can really hear other tables conversations. For casual restaurants I don't mind that type of ambiance but if we are dropping more than $300 for 2 of us, I am going to compare it to comparable places in that price range: Bavettes, Gibsons, maple and ash, swift and sons, Alston, etc. this is significantly lacking compared to all of those "nice steakhouses". Theres not even a coat check. Also our leftover was packed in a cheap black plastic bag. Once again, not matching with the price point. We are locals and were very excited to try this place not far from us, but sadly, it was a truly disappointing experience and if anyone asked me if I'd recommend this place, I would say look elsewhere.

I was visiting from out of town and was not familiar with the parking around the area. I asked one of the staff members and immediately they reassured me that the side street would raking was totally fine to park just so long as it wasn't the front of the building where you have to pay. The food started with a complementary potato soup which was flavorful and lovely. We got a round of drinks and one of our party didn't care for her drink and it was replaced no question. We had the flat iron steak, the chicken, and the salmon and each entree was wonderful. The proteins were all very tender and juicy. I was also very pleased with the salad that came first which was lightly dressed and very seasonal. We finished our dining experience with a slice of cheesecake. It was a nice cap to the end of a wonderful meal. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion - I would love to come back and try some of the other items on their menu.

**Hidden gem!!!**…read more Penumbra is SUPER sexy and low-key elite. This is one of those spots that will make you look like a total restaurant pro if you take someone there or recommend it. The ambiance is intimate, romantic, and just feels exclusive without trying too hard. I took my girl there for her birthday and she absolutely loved it -- which is always the real test. We had the ribeye and the Rotini Bianco, and both were excellent. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The Rotini Bianco was rich, creamy, and done just right. Every dish felt intentional and well executed. Don't hesitate to book. If you're trying to impress or celebrate something special, this is the move.

There are so many amazing restaurants in Chicago and I love trying the newest ones, but if you want…read moreto guarantee a good meal book a reservation at Joe's. From someone who grew up in Miami i can let you know that it's no Miami Joe's, but it's nice to be able to make a reservation here AND get seated right away...and it's almost as good as back home. My dad's 70th bday is coming up so we took him for dinner here last night to celebrate and my brother even drove in from Michigan to surprise him for the occasion. I think half the appeal was that my brother also wasn't missing a stellar meal at Joe's. We had 6:15pm reservations for our party of 6 and were seated by 6:30pm. Michael was our waiter who had been at Joe's for only about 7 months, but definitely knew his stuff. I'm a stone crab girl and can't imagine getting anything but that at Joe's. My dad followed in my lead. The rest of the family went the steak or other route. No matter what anyone got (steak, shrimp pasta, crab cake, etc) everyone agreed it was a near perfect meal. And of course all the appetizers (cesar salad, oysters) and sides (mashed potatoes, creamed spinach) were pretty tasty too. 2 of my kids ordered off the kids menu, which I thought was a pretty good deal for $20. My 13 year old was worried the 4 oz steak wouldn't be enough for him, but between all the sides and appetizers (and ice cream sundae that came with it) he had plenty to eat. And of course you can't go to Joe's without a slice of key lime pie. Dinner for 6 at Joe's is $$$, but if you're going to spend that type of money on one meal at least you know you'll have a good one here. On the way out my son let me know that this is his favorite restaurant in Chicago and I think I have to agree.

Several golf trips to the U.K. (Britain, Scotland, Wales) I got my fair share of excellent Fish & Chips; the best being in Ullapool, Scotland at The Seafood Shack I have never had better! But, leave it to Chicago to deliver some of the best fish and chips I've ever had in the USA, here at The Dearborn restaurant in the Chicago loop. Everything about The Dearborn's signature dish just worked in every way: The fish was fried perfectly The fish itself was moist and delicious The chips (fries) were excellent The coleslaw was the perfect side dish The tartar sauce was scrumptious My Krobacher Pilsner paired perfectly with my dinner The service was spot on And sitting at the bar watching the NBA playoffs didn't hurt either. I did have a scoop of delicious salted caramel gelato that finished this meal perfectly. Having such delicious fish & chips a few blocks away from where I live is certainly better than flying "over the pond" (a British term for the Atlantic Ocean).

Regardless of the time of day and especially during peak hours, I would definitely recommend making a reservation to air on the safe side. The staff prepared our table super quickly and was very attentive- they really went above and beyond throughout the meal. I do not recommend skipping the drinks! I ordered the seasonal Si Se Puede, Tia mezcal cocktail, which was quite spicy and perfectly sweet. For appetizers, we shared the parkerhouse rolls. The rolls were soft and buttery with a delicious whipped butter spread. For the main dish, I ordered the Dearborn Burger. It was solid overall and the portion size was very generous. I tried the fish and chips as well which were excellent. Would definitely order this next time! For dessert, we tried the sticky toffee date cake. I liked that it was not too heavy, and the Heath bar crumbles added a nice crunch. My only wishlist would be to have more of that delicious sauce to scoop up! We left with ample leftovers and in high spirits. Definitely looking forward to visiting again and trying more of the menu!
