Quartino never misses. From the moment you sit down, you know you're in for something special. We started with the fried mozzarella sticks -- golden, crispy, herb-flecked perfection served on newspaper with a smoky marinara dipping sauce that had us fighting over the last drop. The bruschetta with roasted tomatoes and fresh mozzarella drizzled in balsamic was simple, elegant, and completely devoured. The meatballs in a cast iron skillet -- braised in rich tomato sauce with ricotta and fresh basil -- are worth coming back for alone. Hearty, tender, and packed with flavor. The penne alla vodka was silky, creamy, and finished beautifully with Parmesan. And the Margherita pizza? Thin, blistered crust with fresh basil ribbons -- it disappeared fast. The atmosphere is warm, the portions are generous, and the Italian comfort food hits every time. This is the kind of meal you talk about on the drive home. Highly recommend for date night, family dinner, or any night you want to eat like you're in Italy.

I had a reservation at Quartino, and we were seated but never assigned a server. The restaurant wasn't that busy given that it was 9:30pm on a Sunday, and we were seated for 30 minutes without any service until I asked someone walking by if we could place an order. Throughout the meal we never got any refills on our water, still didn't have a server, and weren't able to get our check. Luckily there are QR codes at the table so we were able to pay and leave after we finished eating. The Pappardelle Al Sugo Di Pomodoro pasta tasted fresh and the meat was flavorful, but it could've used more sauce and salt. The Campania pizza was bland, had soggy crust in the middle, and tasted like ricotta with some cherry tomatoes on top with a hint of garlic.

Exceptional service and small plates, the perfect dining experience all around. Nestled on the corner of N State Street Quartino is packed with great food and an enforceable dining experience...reservations are a must. We ventured out as a family of four, made reservations in advance for a Saturday night and were ready to feast. The wait staff was s vey accommodating, especially with how busy the bar and restaurant are, think packed in like sardines. Huddled around a small table barely big enough to fit 4 chairs and the abundance of plates, glasses bottles of wine not to mention the never ending small plates, you felt like you were at Sunday dinner. The menu is set up for sharing and you might think it won't be enough but you will still have plenty leftover. Starting with warm olives, minestrone, fresh burrata and tomatoes, and galleria white bean dip with plenty of grilled bread we were content, the flavors complimented each other and were full of fresh flavor. We then moved on to pasta, tortellini with peas and prosciutto, white clam linguine and tagliatelle bolognese, each one better than the next. The perfectly cooked pasta with tons of garlic and fresh herbs, meats and cheese were incredible. When we thought we couldn't eat anything else we were offered dessert. The warm hot chocolate cake with vanilla gelato was rich and delicious and the caramel bananas with biscotti and vanilla gelato were decadent and delicious! A truly great dining experience, totally worth the close quarters.

Came for dinner during the St. Patrick's Day parade, and it was a bit busy without a reservation. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated, so I would definitely recommend making one ahead of time. When ordering, the dishes came out one at a time as they were prepared, which worked well for us since we weren't sharing. I ordered the eggplant parmesan, and my boyfriend got the gnocchi. Both were good, but his dish was definitely more flavorful. Parts of my eggplant tasted like the skillet it was baked in, which took away from the overall flavor. The bread served at the beginning was also pretty good. Our server was nice and attentive, and the restaurant itself was clean. Overall, a solid experience with a few minor drawbacks.

Everything was sooooo good. The funghi pizza is easily one of the top 3 best pizzas I've had. The pizza had a thin, crispy crust that wasn't dry at all. The mushroom flavor was perfect 9/10. The fondue was 8/10 and so good with the bread, though the bread itself was a little stale which made it a 5/10 on its own. The pappardelle with braised beef was also amazing. The meat was super soft and flavorful. The only thing that could make it better would be slightly more al dente noodles, but still a 9/10 dish. The vibes were amazing. Lively, fun, and perfect for an affordable casual date night in Chicago.

I went here to catch up with some friends, so I apologize that there is a lack of photos for some dishes, but it was all well appreciated at the moment. For reference, 5/10 is average for me. The ambiance of the restaurant is very cute- from my view there were cans of tomatoes and wines decorated on shelves. There are also TVs in the restaurant, but I didn't really pay attention to what they were showing. They also have a deli section in the restaurant which I thought was nice so you can view what meats they offer. Service was very attentive. One thing I didn't like about the dining tables is that there is a pile of plates that take up a good bulk of the space on the table. These plates are for sharing entrees and other dishes with the dining party but I thought the space it took up didn't compensate for the ease of sharing dishes. Additionally the dining area we were seated at was a bit cramped with some seats being directly behind another person's chair. Ambiance: 5/10. Service: 7/10. Espresso Martini: Super delicious and heavy on the espresso. Rich and dark. As a dark chocolate/ cacao lover, this was amazing. They did forget the espresso beans so I guess that means no health, wealth, and happiness for me :'( (lol jk). 9/10. Burrata: The burrata was fresh and creamy . The tomatoes were amazing- they were so flavored with the charred flavor from being grilled. I loved this dish for especially for the combo between the tomatoes providing acidity and some bitterness from the char which was complemented nicely by the mild and creamy burrata. 9/10. Veal Meatballs: Loved the flavor of the meatballs + was seasoned well. The tomato sauce it was in was also really good and tasted fresh and earthy. 7/10. Eggplant Parmigiana: I got this because my Italian coworker recommended it to me a while ago and I love eggplant. This was very good, but relied heavily on the mozzarella to carry the flavor profile. Still nicely seasoned and fresh, but maybe it's because I can't stop thinking about those grilled tomatoes from the burrata that I wish there was a bit more flavor from the eggplant. 7/10. Penne alla vodka: This was one of the best pastas I've tasted. The sauce was incredibly rich in flavor- sweet and acidic from tomatoes, savory from the garlic, and an undertone of spice from the red chilies. We added chicken on it which was also delicious since the chicken soaked up the sauce and the chicken was grilled, providing a bitter flavor to contrast the flavors from the sauce. 10/10. Tiramisu: I love tiramisu so I thought it was fantastic, but my friends who are also tiramisu-holics didn't quite like it. Among our feedback included that the mascarpone cream felt a bit heavy for the dessert and that there wasn't enough espresso to balance out the mild, creamy flavor from the mascarpone. 7/10. Overall: 7/10.

I've passed this place all the time but never went in and I'm so glad I did. A few of my coworkers and I decided to have a holiday dinner here because no one has been and wanted to try this new place. Beautiful classic Italian food with a classic speakeasy vibe. I won't lie, they were so many options and everything we tried was delicious. Especially for the price! Our server was so kind and patient with us. She gave suggestions and helped us based off dietary restrictions. Even if you don't want to eat, there's a lot of different bars within the restaurant where you can sit by a cozy fire, the bar. This is a nice place to pregame and have dinner before the night starts or for a celebration. I will be back.

Dined solo at Quartino on a packed Saturday night, and the place was buzzing -- definitely popular. It was packed and loud. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. It was slow, and my server didn't check in much, but when he was there, he was nice and offered suggestions. I ordered a half-and-half pizza, and that part was solid -- flavorful and worth ordering. The bread and olive oil, though? Not good. I hate when restaurants bring plain oil with no herbs or seasoning. I realize this was too much for solo dining but I wanted it so for dessert, I finished with the Gran Coppa. It was just okay. The biscotti was hard as hell -- like, I'm not risking my teeth for this . Overall, the food was hit or miss, and the service definitely dragged the experience down. This visit didn't really wow me, if I lived in Chicago, I might give em another shot but as a visitor, there's more to explore.

The service here was amazing. We had a big group, and the servers made sure that all of our questions and concerns were answered. They explained the specials of the night well and they were all very welcoming. The complementary bread and butter with olive oil oil definitely helped fill me up. One of my favorite dishes was the Parmesan chicken. It was pretty small though. They said that it was shareable among the table, but I could've ate it all by myself ha ha. It's also very dark inside. And to get to a table was very narrow not a lot of open space. Makes sense because it was very busy. They did have some outdoor seating near the entrance, but it was too cold to sit outside.

Just stopped in for dessert and a drink at the bar. Waited on right away and our treat came out fast and drinks were very good! We got the Coppa Alla Banana, it was 2 big scoops of Gelato (delicious), with a couple of pieces of caramelized banana and all the other delicious toppings. It's a VERY top heavy dessert, so take care. Enjoyed it, but would have loved a bit more banana. Margarita was expertly prepared and delicious.

The linguine with clams & white wine sauce. It's really flavorful but squeeze a little lemon and it tastes even better!

Food is HEAVEN! Cozy, homey vibes. We stumbled upon this restaurant during our spring break staycation for our girls. Looked at the reviews and they did not disappoint! . The server came up to our table and apologized for the wait even when we didn't even have wait at all so I knew immediately that the service was going to be great! And it really was such good service. Our waitress was so sweet and patient as we had a few questions about the menu. Once we sat down, they brought out bread immediately! And the condiments they have at the table are a great touch and so fun because you get to create your own dip for the bread! The assistant manager, Grant, is so awesome and friendly. He came over to talk to us and gave us some background information on the establishment! And what made dinner even BETTER was that he is a PACKERS fan and he was so generous for giving us a treat! The food came out in a very decent time considering how busy they were for a Tuesday evening. Everything was so fresh and hot! We ordered the calamari, one of the best I have ever had (and I order calamari everywhere I go, if it is available)! My husband had their Funghi pizza and he is picky about his pizzas but he ate just about the entire pizza! Our girls split the Alla vodka with meatballs and ate every last bit! I ordered the linguine with clams and the shrimp fra diavolo! PERFECTION!! I ended up mixing them together and it was top tier! Their non alcoholic drinks were very refreshing too! Especially the lemon basil snash and the No-jito! HIGHLY recommend this place! The table next to us (they live in Indiana) we took a picture for them and they said it's one of their favorite places every time they come to Chicago! It's now a place we will definitely bring all our friends and family too!

Affordable and smaller portions so can try different dishes. Perfect for family style. Ordered - tortellini - wild arugula salad - chicken parmigiana - penne alla vodka - orecchiette My favorites are the wild arugula salad and the orecchiette. I love a good zesty and fruity salad. The orecchiette has a good texture and well seasoned. It's good customer service but can be a bit difficult to get your server's attention because every time I've gone, it's always busy/packed.

    Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken

This was my very first true authentic Italian restaurant. It was decent, but I honestly feel that I've had better at other chain restaurants. Pasta was just okay and the seasoning was minimal. I had to add way too much extra cheese, pepper and salt to get a good taste. The best part about my whole experience here was the waitress. I don't remember her name but she was the short, African American lady with small braids or twists. She was amazing.

The starters and entrees rotate seasonally, and they have an amazing patisserie team if you've grown tired of profiteroles with ice cream and creme brulee (*yawn*) being your only options. The service is beyond exceptional--I cannot say enough.

VIBE: The dining room had a cozy country brasserie feel, with medium wood tones prevailing. It was not full, so conversational noise was only moderate. SERVICE: The host noted my reservation request for a seating accommodation and honored it - bonus points for that. Our server was attentive and comp'd us for a dessert that did not delight us. Food came at a leisurely pace, which suited us. FOOD: The menu had contemporary takes on French standards. We're not foie gras fans, but there were witty dishes for those who are. A Basque octopus appetizer was clever and flavorful, if a bit salty. Roast chicken was also notably salty, and it lacked the roasty character we expect from this bistro standard. Poached monkfish was tender and tangy, but also a bit salty. The couple of wines we had were interesting, especially an excellent dry sparkling rose, which was quite dry and refreshing. For dessert, a souffle was just meh. The ambiance and hospitality were notable. The food was inventive and generally OK (except for the saltiness). We're not sure we'll return.
