Long overdue for a visit to BLVD, so I decided to pop in yesterday to check out their new happy hour menu. I'm just going to cut straight to it... THE BEEF STUFFED MUSHROOM CAPS WILL BE ONE OF THE BEST THINGS YOU EVER PUT IN YOUR MOUTH. (...pause ) No exaggeration. Shoutout to our waitress, Rosie -- phenomenal. She actually comped us the caps, which is how we even discovered them. Also, shoutout to "TJ" (I believe she was a manager). The caps were so good I ordered some to go, and she came over like, "Just so you know, these are meant to be served a certain way, so they won't be as pretty..." I said, "I DON'T CARE." LOL She laughed, I laughed... but that right there? That's service. That's care. That's people who actually take pride in what they're putting out. BLVD -- easy 5 stars for the new happy hour menu. But let me be very clear... If those mushroom caps ever disappear, I'm dropping this to a 1! Had a double date with my parents and my husband here at BLVD Steakhouse. We had a 5:30 appt and got there on time. It was raining and the person at the desk offered to take our coats and umbrella. It was a bit chilly (to me) so I decided to keep my leather coat on. Inside was beautiful of course with the chandelier and the winding steps. The ambiance was grown n sexy. Our waiter was very charismatic and gave us anything our table needed. We ordered the Chicken, Ribeye steak, NY strip steak, and Salmon for the entrees. We had a side of milk rolls, mushrooms, mash potatoes, and asparagus. The whole table was able to share. Our food and drinks were good. I'll highlight a few items. We started off with the milk rolls. They were soft and dense. We paired them with the butter and the caramelized onion jelly and it turned out to be really good together. I recommend only trying one so you won't get full so fast. The salmon was delicious. Im a fan of crunchy skin so I was loving it! My mom and my husband enjoyed their steaks and thought that they were cooked perfectly. I also thought the mash potatoes were good and creamy. I was wondering what my experience here would be like since I read mixed reviews. Safe to say I had a great experience. While we were looking forward to our reservation at BLVD, we were woefully disappointed by the experience! we went there to celebrate both a birthday and recent engagement. Both were arguably botched. First and foremost, when we requested a booth, the hostess was very nonchalant about it. A very "if you get one, you get one," attitude. The manager did try to remedy the situation, which I did appreciate. However, the issues didn't stop there. We attended the restaurant during Restaurant Week. We were absolutely flabbergasted with what we saw. Let me first of all say our waitress Kayla was very nice! We appreciated her attitude and energy! It was very accommodating and was a stark contrast to the hostesses. That said, how does a steakhouse upcharge for steak during Restaurant Week? The steak tartar left alot to be desired and our steak was so charred it was as if I was eating a rubber tire. Most importantly, we weren't given anything for our birthday and recent engagement. Regarding the environment and ambiance, it's a ornately-designed space. However, given the lack of occasional accommodations and food left FAR MORE to be desired. Someone astoundingly shocking considering the place is up for a James Beard Award!! All this to say until BLVD Steakhouse makes some serious changes, I cannot recommend this establishment. read more

Second time at BLVD! And I left impressed! First, The space is gorgeous. Very moody and sexy. The staff is amazing from the hosts to the servers and everyone in between. My very first visit we had a formal dinner for a friend's birthday. This visit me and a girl friend sat at the upstairs bar and just chatted. For this visit we kept it light. I ordered a sidecar with Hennessy, the BLVD burger and an order of fries. My go to was closed and rumor had it the burger here was good. And GOOD it was. The two bartenders upstairs were amazing! Warm, kind, very knowledgeable about the menu. They were also fun to talk to. Back to the food. Burger was moist and the garlic aioli and b sauce paired very well with it. Fries were fresh cut and tasty. If I add bacon to the burger I'll prob be back monthly. Hehehe I'll def be back for a third visit! read more

Tried the New Year's Eve three-course menu here and overall it was a pretty mid experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially the first-floor interior. When we arrived to check in for our prepaid reservation, they had overbooked and we ended up waiting about 50 minutes to be seated, which was frustrating. While they offered us a refund, its new years and not like we can just walk into another restaurant. It just felt poorly planned and overcrowded. There was also condensation dripping onto our table throughout dinner, which was kinda gross. Our server was fine and as accommodating as he could be given the situation, but the food didn't really make up for the experience. The mashed potatoes were the standout, but the salmon was overly salty. Overall, the experience fell flat and didn't feel worth the $95 price tag. read more

Visited for a friends birthday dinner. Food & drinks were pretty good. I had salmon & creamed spinach. I also had the lavendar lemon drop which was pretty good. Our server Rob was amazing. He gave recommendations & everything that he rec'd was good especially the cocktail. They have us a champagne toast to celebrate the lady fo the hr & a pretty good chocolate cake slice. I am not a chocolate cake person but this was surprisingly good! Just a heads up, they have a photography rule on their site that was not disclosed when we made our reservation. We specifically chose this place for the aesthetic & to take some pictures during the evening. Had we know about this ahead of time we would not have picked this place. I understand how it could be disruptive if it is excessive however as a paying guest we should be allowed a moment for photos, within reason. So just make sure you read that before going. read more

Let's start with the super positives! Service was incredible truly! A very tall curly haired man assisted us tonight and he was very kind and attentive! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very elegant and upscale! Super luxurious!! You have to request to sit downstairs which I'm sure is a different vibe! Upstairs around the chandelier it's a lot of waiters running cleared plates the whole night, which you'd think was kind of hidden for a luxury spot. Next the food was okay at best, and no where near the quality you'd expect for the price range! I couldn't recommend this place to anyone in good conscience with the price tag! Highly disappointed in this experience. From beginning to end it was interesting. If you have a late reservation prepared to be rushed. Our reservation was for 9:15 pm on a Saturday evening 2 people. We pulled up in car service two gentlemen were standing outside I am guessing they were valet, they did not budge to assist with arrival lol. My friend had a boot on her foot you would think they would have some courtesy and open the door, nothing. I open the door to the restaurant it smells like a pound of weed. At that moment we should have left, it was late and we needed to eat so we stayed and gave the place the benefit of the doubt. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, after requesting the main floor especially because my company was injured and it was very apparent!!! Why would you seat us upstairs and she has a boot on her foot!!!??? We ended up taking their work elevator to get upstairs. Our waitress was definitely rushing us to order. I ordered a ginger ale twice, the second time the waitress stated we do not do refills.... ummm ok I still want it. Then she proceeds to ask is there something wrong with my stomach because I am ordering ginger ale. Just give me the ginger ale! Our waitress also asked if there were any allergies at the table, I stated yes avocado she says oh this is not a Mexican or Spanish restaurant so we won't have that problem. Again ummmmmm Ok! Totally unnecessary to say! After being asked every 2/3 mins if we were ready to order we ordered oysters to start which were not fresh! A filet mignon , branzino, mac and cheese, and asparagus. We did not eat the mac and cheese and the waitress left it on the bill. All the food was very blah and cold. Listen to this they charge for their in house steak sauce that is just a1 watered down, it was not good at all! We ordered a drink they were decent. I was so over it in that place! It was my birthday at that. They had the ice cream and fudge come out for my birthday with a candle and a card, real cute but no. Idk what kind of fudge was on that ice cream but it would not separate from the ice cream lol. The audacity to have staff patrolling around to tell people when and where they can take pictures lol, this place smells like weed, people have on sweatsuits and ski masks, give me a break! Came here for a friend's birthday. The decor in here is gorgeous and a perfect setting for a special birthday celebration. It was a big group of us and our waiter did a good job of attending to us. I only got a burger but it was very delicious and so were the fries! I would come back on a date to try their steak out that I'm sure is good. read more

The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, and the mushrooms were my favorite part of the meal. Service was prompt and attentive, which I appreciated. That said, I don't like surprises on my bill. When I asked for A1 steak sauce, I should have been told it was a house-made sauce with an extra charge. Once I realized it wasn't A1, I didn't even use it, so seeing it added to my bill was frustrating, especially on a $70 steak. The food was good, but it didn't quite match the price point. A 8oz filet and mushrooms, & soup $130. This felt like more of a "bucket list" experience, you're really paying for the ambiance. I'm glad I tried it, but I doubt I'll be back. read more

I want to start by saying the ambiance and décor here were top tier and very memorable. Unfortunately, my overall experience was very different from what I expected. My wife brought me here to celebrate my birthday. We had a 7:30 PM reservation, arrived on time, were seated within a couple of minutes, and were given water shortly after. After that, we sat for over 30 minutes without anyone taking our drink order. We eventually had to stop a staff member ourselves to request service. She took our drink and food orders on the spot. I ordered an Old Fashioned, which arrived half-filled--essentially a few sips--so be aware that drink portions are very small. We ordered our steaks well done, and the server mentioned they might take a while due to their thickness, which we understood. However, the steaks arrived in about 15 minutes along with the creamed spinach and mac and cheese. On the first cut of my New York strip, I immediately noticed pink. My wife's ribeye was the same. We waited a bit to send them back, but since no server came by and we were hungry, we reluctantly ate them anyway. Unfortunately, the steaks were completely unseasoned and easily the most bland, tasteless steaks I've ever been served. The sides, however, were flavorful and enjoyable. At that point, we were ready to leave and asked for the check. The staff member who took our order offered a complimentary chocolate cake to-go for our patience, which was appreciated. Food and service was great. Ambiance was chill. We started with the east coast oysters and cocktails. The lavender lemon drop was amazing. The oysters were so fresh the house cocktail sauce was a hit. We tried the crab cake for an appetizer. Entre we tried the steak and roasted chicken l. Cocktails here are consistently five-star quality, and their happy hour is a solid option if you're looking for value without compromising taste. The only small note: the staircase and bathroom area are a bit dark, but honestly, they're still worth a photo -- very sleek and moody. This place was recommended by my best friend. She went last year with her husband for his 40th and raved about it from how beautiful the ambiance was inside the restaurant to the food. We love fine dining so we decided to definitely make it a date night here while visiting Chicago. OMG and beauty is her name; the chandelier room and the dim lighting was such a nice touch especially for a date night. We were on the 2nd floor so it was nice views looking down below. From here though it kind of goes down hill. The waitstaff, she was not very friendly or welcoming. It was our first time here so greet us and make us feel welcoming especially since it was not CHEAP (by no means). She didn't do anything special, didn't get to know us or ask if we've been to the restaurant before or didn't give us any recommendations and there was another couple nearby us so I wanted to see if she gave the same energy and she did so at least I can say she was consistent. Food was just okay for the amount we spent, we would have expected better because we had better-we fine dine a lot so yeah it was just okay to us. Appetizers my husband had the shrimp cocktail and I had the beet salad; for our entrees, I had the halibut and my husband had the 10oz filet, we also had the macaroni and cheese and mushrooms as sides. My entree wasn't pretty for a picture looks wise (in my opinion) but it was surprisingly good. I was surprised they didn't have salmon or seabass on the menu though. The star of the show was the Mac and cheese-OMG now that I could have just had and been fine! It was cheesy, hot and so delicious! The mushrooms had a weird vinegar/sour taste to them which I was not a fan of so a little off putting for me. Lastly, for dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding and it was delicious too! 2nd best dish of the night! Oh and the wine was nice too! All in all, I definitely don't need to go back to this place but if you never tried this place before, definitely try it, I heard their happy hour is good. We came her for one of my friends birthday. When you first walk in it looks amazing. Very nice elegant and it looks bigger in the inside then on the outside. We made a reservation as it was 5 people. We checked our coats and then were shown to our table. When we arrived at our table we were greeted by our server and waters were brought out. We took some time to look over the menu and made a choice. We received complimentary champagne as it was my friends Birthday. When we ordered we were told that the steaks were Grilled so make have some Charred pieces. I ordered Steak and lobster and the table ordered Mashed Potatoes to share. The steak was dry and burnt. Lobster was okay but needed some seasoning as it was bland. I really enjoyed the Mashed Potatoes. When we finished our food. The Waitstaff came and cleared the plates. We were sitting there talking, laughing and opening gifts. I took a sip of my water and turned to say something to my friend I turned back around the waitstaff had taken my water. This wouldn't have been unusual but I had just taken a sip and the waitstaff was standing nearby and the water was more than half full. Plus no one else drinks were taken. I was very confused. It wasn't even close to closing for them to rush us as they did Overall, I didn't have a great experience as the food wasn't great and the wait staff will clear your whole table without you knowing. I was in the city for an event and decided to stop by BLVD for dinner on a whim. There's a decent amount of street parking surrounding the restaurant or you can opt for the valet. When I pulled up there happened to be a wide open spot in front of the restaurant so I snagged it. The restaurant is elegant and has very sexy vibes. Everything is pretty much black so the restaurant feels very dark and mysterious. I sat at the bar although there were plenty of tables available. I'm happy I made that choice because our bartender Gabriella was amazing. She had a great personality and gave great recommendations for food and drinks. I'm a pescatarian so I tried the black bass and potatoes. I also ordered a side of the mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. I loved the potatoes and whatever sauce came with it. I also enjoyed the piloma picante from the cocktail menu. It had just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. We hosted our rehearsal dinner at BLVD, and it could not have been more perfect. The venue itself is absolutely stunning - dark, romantic, and dreamy in the best possible way. It created the exact atmosphere we were hoping for: intimate, elegant, and full of charm. Working with Emily made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. She was incredibly helpful, responsive, and made sure everything ran smoothly the night of. BLVD went above and beyond by letting us use their TV for a photo slideshow and their mic setup for a few speeches -- such a thoughtful touch. The Champagne Room was the ideal size for our group, and we loved that they set up a wine station near the entrance so guests could enjoy a drink right away without waiting at the bar. Every detail was perfectly executed, and the service was top-notch. We couldn't have asked for a better space or experience. 10/10 would recommend BLVD to anyone looking for a romantic, beautiful venue for a rehearsal dinner (or any special occasion!). read more

Came here for a date night on the patio, and I was surprised how empty it was because we loved our dinner! Service, food, ambiance, and drinks were all great. We started with the oysters and a spicy Paloma. So refreshing on this beautiful day! We got the bone in rib-eye, which was delicious and flavorful. My glass of cab went down with this perfectly. This was a huge cut, so our Mac and cheese and cauliflower sides were more than enough food. I also had a house salad, and we couldn't finish everything. All the dishes were so tasty though! I'll start with the positives.... The ambiance is beautiful! Great entry way and front bar! The hostesses were friendly and took our coats to hang. We had a 6:00pm reservation and were seated on time. The bathrooms are very clean, however on the dark side. Julian, the bartender at the main bar was fabulous and made great drinks! Now for the negatives.... Once we were seated, service was terrible and they weren't that busy! The waitress took forever to get our drink orders. When she finally took the drink orders, she didn't ask about food but we told her we were ready to order. We ordered 2 crab cakes to start. They came out and were good. We then ordered another round of drinks and our mains. There were 4 of us, we all got different steaks and different temperatures requested. I ordered mine medium...it was cooked perfectly, but ice cold and ZERO seasoning! My husband and the rest of the table ordered their's medium well. My husband's was cooked correctly, but ice cold and ZERO seasoning! Our friend's steaks were over cooked, ice cold, and ZERO seasoning. I'm talking about basic salt...there was none! I also ordered the steak frites and requested to switch the fries out for a salad. Our server told me that the chef doesn't do modifications. I was blown away, because what's the big deal not putting fries on my plate and giving me some salad instead?! For as expensive as it is to eat here, slight adjustments should be ok. We ordered the pistachio Gelato for dessert....this was the best part of our meal. After our 600$ bill arrived, we paid and left. Needless to say, we will not be returning. read more

BLVD has an extravagant interior decor. You are greeted at the front desk that is positioned to capture the staircase and multiple chandeliers. The lighting is dark and the walls are dark as well. It's a steakhouse so I was expecting the star of the show to be steak but the steak fell flat on seasoning and tenderness. However, the chicken and black bass were better. My favorite dish was the chicken. The star of the night was the triple chocolate cake. The cake was moist and exploding with chocolate flavor. The bar also makes decent drinks. read more

What a gem for date night. Located right by Fulton market, BLVD is a stunning steakhouse restaurant. We got a spothero near rather than paying for valet, but it wasn't too bad in pricing for valet if you wanted that option. Upon arrival you check in at the main host stand and they will tell you if you're sitting on the patio or inside. We were hoping to be seated inside but were directed outside. While the patio is heated, it wasn't quite what we expected. Nonetheless, it was cute. We were seated by the hostess and one of the server assistants came over and offered us bottled water or tap water. And bread quickly came out, it came with an olive oil, cheese spread, and butter with steak salt on top. The bread was a bit too oily as it was dripping over when I picked it up without being dipped but full of great flavor and wasn't hard. To start we got the tuna crudo and the French onion soup, the tuna crudo was great with their house made peppers on top. The French onion soup was stunning but tasted like it had far too much sherry in it that took away from the French onion flavors of the soup. For our entrees we ordered the porterhouse to share cooked medium rare, the Mac and cheese, 50/50 potatoes and the fries because we wanted to see what the beef fat fries tasted like. To start, we're usually not one to be picky about the temperature of steaks, but our steak was a weeee bit overdone when it came out. More like medium well than medium rare. But our server was quick to get a new one thrown on the grill and done right. While we waited we had the Mac and cheese and when it was the highlight of the night for me. The béchamel sauce with the cheeses was amazing! So good that we dipped the fries in it to make cheese fries. When the redone steak came out, it was perfect. We enjoyed it with the potatoes which were sooo smooth and melted in your mouth. With the porterhouse we also got the chimichurri sauce, which with the roasted garlic only amplified the flavors. To end the meal, we were so full from dinner that we decided not to get dessert. But our server remembered we mentioned my husband's birthday was last week and brought out a scoop of ice cream with a sparkler for him. The ambiance and service were both noteworthy. It's stunning inside. -Perfect for a date. I loved our server. He was helpful without being overbearing. The food was good. Don't get me wrong. But for a $300 meal, not sure it was quite worth that. We ordered the steak tartare to start. Loved the grilled sourdough bread it came with. The wagyu strip steak was good but not a slam dunk. I did really enjoy the blackened salmon with grits, but the baked potato with creme fraîche and caviar needed more caviar and it wasn't presented in a very appetizing way. I'd have gladly paid more for more caviar on it. I load it up when I make it at home. It was an enjoyable experience and a nice change-up from your typical steakhouse, but I'd consider this a "one and done" restaurant. read more

Unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The staff did not feel very welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the overall atmosphere felt rushed rather than comfortable. Our waiter seemed to be in a hurry the entire time, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. We also were told that the manager did not want us taking pictures with flash, which came across in a way that felt unfriendly. Since when is 4% PRE-tax fee, then a post-tax 20% mandatory gratuity acceptable? I used to love coming to BLVD patio on dates or with friends- great drinks, service, and decor. But these mandatory fees to support employee wages are getting out of hand. And then to be asked for a tip on top. I am putting my foot down on this and not coming any longer. The tuna with veal sauce was good but it's legitimately 4 bites for $26. 20% auto gratuity I usually would never care about but our bartender was a mope. Auto gratting all tables (we were 2) is crazy. Especially when you don't have a top tier staff. We were at Trivoli before this and they could've auto gratted us 30% and I wouldn't have cared... here not even close to worth it read more

Tried BLVD Restaurant Week and was disappointed. Ordered a Bellini, but they didn't have peach purée--only peach liqueur--so I went with champagne instead. The avocado toast was bland and burnt, the French toast was overloaded with berry sauce and had an odd spicy mascarpone. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich was decent but had an unnecessary peppery taste. The Wagyu breakfast sausage was thick and chewy, not what I expected. Visited for restaurant week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was tasty, fresh and delicious. Loved my French 75, my girl enjoyed a glass of wine. She loved her streak! Cooked and seasoned to her liking! My crab cake was probably one of the best I've ever had! I'll be back for that crab cake lol. The ambiance is to die for! Stunning! Service, was OK. I was between a 4/5 stars but the second they brought out the complimentary bread (pictured) in the beginning my experience immediately became a 5/5 stars... it came with three sauces to put on the bread & each one was phenomenal. This was my first time at BLVD and I'm truly happy that we chose here for our New Years Eve plans. On top of this being my first time, it was my first time having Steak Tartare and I fell in love ... it made me want to try every Steak Tartare in Chicago. Very flavorful & delicious! Every dish we had was top of the line. This might be a me thing, but the only dish I wasn't in awe of was the Strawberry Cheesecake. The strawberry flavor felt weird texture wise & almost to the point of being fake strawberries (but I know it wasn't). I've just had a lot more better Strawberry Cheesecakes in my life. Last piece was the service, great. One word to describe their service is great. From the moment we walked in to our Server (Gary), they all made the experience better. I would give 0 stars if I could. The only reason this restaurant received one star is for the ambience. Everything else about our experience was extremely disappointing, especially for a steakhouse that is so highly rated. My spouse and I had a 7:30 PM reservation, yet after being seated, we sat at our table for over 30 minutes without any acknowledgment at all. No server, no water, no greeting -- nothing. I eventually had to speak up and ask who our server was before anyone came over. When someone finally came to take our order, the interaction was rude and unprofessional. There was no apology for the long wait and no attempt to make up for the inconvenience in any way. Once our food arrived, no one checked on us to ask how the food was or if we needed anything, which only reinforced the feeling that we were completely overlooked. I had also requested a booth with my reservation but was instead seated at a small table, which was another disappointment. From start to finish, it truly felt like my guest and I were ignored. As for the food, it was underwhelming and lacked flavor, especially the steak. Ironically, the best part of the entire meal was the sides. For a bill that totaled around $400, this experience was unacceptable. I honestly feel like I could have received better food and better service at a local chain like Outback for a fraction of the price. For the cost, reputation, and expectations that come with a top-tier steakhouse, this experience missed the mark entirely. I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and unheard. read more

Went here while I was visiting Chicago. It's a very beautiful restaurant and everyone is so friendly. The food wasn't anything special. This place is amazing. It is beautiful on the inside and definitely gives date night or special occasion vibes. The food is pricey but what else do you expect. The Wagyu Ribeye is my favorite dish and just completely melts in your mouth. Would recommend coming here for a special occasion as usually it is $100-150 per person. read more

Is BLVD absolutely stunning on the inside? Yes. Is the service nice? Yes. Is the food exceptional? No. I've been here 2xs one for my birthday celebration and recently for a work dinner. Every time I am blown away by the decor and aura of this place. The drinks are nice and the staff is kind. The food is very standard and truly does not stand out to me. Now what does stand out is their bathroom. SEXYYY come here for a drink, photo, and vibes. Oh and that chandelier and the grand stair case! It feels like modern great gatsby. I've had the steak and chicken here and it's nothing to brag about but it's okay. Maybe I'll have to try another dish to make a final mark on the food. read more

I waited to try this place specifically after the hype died down. I can say it's worth it. I will say I didn't like that some came in very casually dressed in such a chic space. The attire laxness threw me off but overall food, ambiance, and service was amazing. Content creators would love it here for the amazing laces for very cute pics.
