I am highly disappointed with their reservation request form situation. I submitted a request form as stated on the website link as well as from verbally speaking with someone on the phone and submitting it within the time frame. Keep in mind the request was for a Wednesday Evening to celebrate my actual birthday. I called the restaurant right as they opened on my birthday to confirm the reservation, as I have not heard back from anyone. I was told immediately "oh no we don't have anything for 12 people, someone just called before you asking about 10 people". I went on to explain that I completed things as instructed and have not heard anything back and I have people arriving to the restaurant in 2 hours, so what am I suppose to tell them? She said "Well, IDK what you should tell them because we don't have anything for 12 people". During this time, she has asked for my phone number, email, and name (3 or 4 times). I expressed to her that today is my birthday and I was looking forward to spending my birthday at the restaurant. She then tells me that she needs to speak with her manager and will call me back with 5min. I then told her that the number is now at 10. Upon the return call, she tells me that the reservation has been pushed through (in the tone that they are doing me a favor) and proceeds to tell me that, I will receive a text and within that text confirm and pay a deposit of $25 per person right now or it will be cancelled. I explained to her that, 1. I am driving on the Dan Ryan and will not be pulling out my card to do any of that "right now". 2. I explained to her that, this is something that could've been taken care of yesterday, if you all would've done your job accurately and in a timely manner. 3. I'm not doing that because a deposit per person was not mentioned on the site nor when I called. I ended the call and went into panic mode because I had 10 including myself preparing to patronize at this restaurant that just did me dirty on my actual restaurant. So I can say that, I was very frustrated and almost gave up celebrating and be celebrated on my birthday, so I had to find something quick! So my reservation number went from 12, 10, 6, to 5. My Husband and I were looking forward to coming to this restaurant as we have followed the The career of Joe Flamm since we first saw him on Top Chef. When we walked in the door, it was very disorienting as it was so dark and the wall and the floor just blended together. The room itself is very beautiful especially the chandeliers, but it's very dark. I understand they are going for a moody high-end steakhouse vibe, but to be honest, I just found it depressing. The hostess was accommodating with our requests to sit at a table where we could face each other, not in one of the big circular booths. Our server was very nice. He did forget part of My Husband's cocktail order, and the cocktails did seem rather slow coming out of the bar. Not that I saw anyone in the bar so perhaps he was the one fixing the drinks. We ordered fresh oysters and shrimp cocktail for starters and both were good. Next we ordered two Caesar salad salads to share and the kitchen was nice enough to split them up for us so we each had our own plate. Unfortunately, none of us considered it really a Caesar salad. No anchovies, no croutons, and no fresh Parmesan shavings. There was a lot of confusion when our dinners were brought to the table. The young lady who brought our food, apparently did not speak English and did not quite understand what we were talking about. Two of the steaks looked alike. One was a Wagyu, very rare. The other was a regular strip and we just wanted to make sure that the right person got the right steak. They also confused who was splitting the bone in ribeye thinking it was me and the person sitting next to me not me and my Husband who was sitting across the table on the other side. We dine out on a regular basis and are accustomed to high-end restaurants in Chicago, I just did not feel that this restaurant or the staff made you feel special in anyway. Some of our favorites are the RPM restaurants and Tre Dita and I've always said that the service at those restaurants is impeccable. Had a nice first time here and overall had a good experience. To preface, in a more casual restaurant, I'd be giving this 4 stars but due to the price I paid - expectations are higher. This is a nice steakhouse, reservations are very easy to make - you can choose between the atrium room(alternate dining area- more bright lit), and the chandelier room - which I made a reservation for. Chandelier room, like the name implies, has a beautiful large chandelier - and you can take nice pics at the top of the stairs. The food for a steakhouse was solid. Not the best by any means but enjoyable - really enjoyed the French onion soup too. I'm giving this 3 stars due to my waiter. As I was attempting to order an appetizer, the server told me I should order everything at once. Cool- no worries, I can do that. When he came back - I order everything at once and he seemed surprised that I put in the entire order, the vibe from him was just weird. I think his communication could have been better. Let us know when you introduce us to put in everything at once - not every steakhouse will have people put in the entire order. The people next to us had a very charismatic waiter who was going above and beyond. My very first visit we had a formal dinner for a friend's birthday. This visit me and a girl friend sat at the upstairs bar and just chatted. For this visit we kept it light. I ordered a sidecar with Hennessy, the BLVD burger and an order of fries. My go to was closed and rumor had it the burger here was good. And GOOD it was. The two bartenders upstairs were amazing! Tried the New Year's Eve three-course menu here and overall it was a pretty mid experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially the first-floor interior. When we arrived to check in for our prepaid reservation, they had overbooked and we ended up waiting about 50 minutes to be seated, which was frustrating. While they offered us a refund, its new years and not like we can just walk into another restaurant. It just felt poorly planned and overcrowded. There was also condensation dripping onto our table throughout dinner, which was kinda gross. Our server was fine and as accommodating as he could be given the situation, but the food didn't really make up for the experience. Our waiter was very charismatic and gave us anything our table needed. We ordered the Chicken, Ribeye steak, NY strip steak, and Salmon for the entrees. We had a side of milk rolls, mushrooms, mash potatoes, and asparagus. The whole table was able to share. Our food and drinks were good. I'll highlight a few items. We started off with the milk rolls. They were soft and dense. We paired them with the butter and the caramelized onion jelly and it turned out to be really good together. I recommend only trying one so you won't get full so fast. The salmon was delicious. Im a fan of crunchy skin so I was loving it! My mom and my husband enjoyed their steaks and thought that they were cooked perfectly. Then she proceeds to ask is there something wrong with my stomach because I am ordering ginger ale. Just give me the ginger ale! This place was recommended by my best friend. She went last year with her husband for his 40th and raved about it from how beautiful the ambiance was inside the restaurant to the food. We love fine dining so we decided to definitely make it a date night here while visiting Chicago. OMG and beauty is her name; the chandelier room and the dim lighting was such a nice touch especially for a date night. We were on the 2nd floor so it was nice views looking down below. From here though it kind of goes down hill. The waitstaff, she was not very friendly or welcoming. It was our first time here so greet us and make us feel welcoming especially since it was not CHEAP (by no means). She didn't do anything special, didn't get to know us or ask if we've been to the restaurant before or didn't give us any recommendations and there was another couple nearby us so I wanted to see if she gave the same energy and she did so at least I can say she was consistent. Food was just okay for the amount we spent, we would have expected better because we had better-we fine dine a lot so yeah it was just okay to us. Appetizers my husband had the shrimp cocktail and I had the beet salad; for our entrees, I had the halibut and my husband had the 10oz filet, we also had the macaroni and cheese and mushrooms as sides. My entree wasn't pretty for a picture looks wise (in my opinion) but it was surprisingly good. I was surprised they didn't have salmon or seabass on the menu though. The star of the show was the Mac and cheese-OMG now that I could have just had and been fine! It was cheesy, hot and so delicious! The mushrooms had a weird vinegar/sour taste to them which I was not a fan of so a little off putting for me. Lastly, for dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding and it was delicious too! 2nd best dish of the night! Oh and the wine was nice too! All in all, I definitely don't need to go back to this place but if you never tried this place before, definitely try it, I heard their happy hour is good. While we were looking forward to our reservation at BLVD, we were woefully disappointed by the experience! we went there to celebrate both a birthday and recent engagement. Both were arguably botched. First and foremost, when we requested a booth, the hostess was very nonchalant about it. A very "if you get one, you get one," attitude. The manager did try to remedy the situation, which I did appreciate. However, the issues didn't stop there. We attended the restaurant during Restaurant Week. We were absolutely flabbergasted with what we saw. Let me first of all say our waitress Kayla was very nice! We appreciated her attitude and energy! It was very accommodating and was a stark contrast to the hostesses. That said, how does a steakhouse upcharge for steak during Restaurant Week? The steak tartar left alot to be desired and our steak was so charred it was as if I was eating a rubber tire. Most importantly, we weren't given anything for our birthday and recent engagement. Regarding the environment and ambiance, it's a ornately-designed space. However, given the lack of occasional accommodations and food left FAR MORE to be desired. We checked our coats and then were shown to our table. When we arrived at our table we were greeted by our server and waters were brought out. We took some time to look over the menu and made a choice. We received complimentary champagne as it was my friends Birthday. When we ordered we were told that the steaks were Grilled so make have some Charred pieces. I ordered Steak and lobster and the table ordered Mashed Potatoes to share. The steak was dry and burnt. Lobster was okay but needed some seasoning as it was bland. I really enjoyed the Mashed Potatoes. When we finished our food. The Waitstaff came and cleared the plates. We were sitting there talking, laughing and opening gifts. I took a sip of my water and turned to say something to my friend I turned back around the waitstaff had taken my water. This wouldn't have been unusual but I had just taken a sip and the waitstaff was standing nearby and the water was more than half full. Plus no one else drinks were taken. I was very confused. It wasn't even close to closing for them to rush us as they did Overall, I didn't have a great experience as the food wasn't great and the wait staff will clear your whole table without you knowing. When I pulled up there happened to be a wide open spot in front of the restaurant so I snagged it. The restaurant is elegant and has very sexy vibes. Everything is pretty much black so the restaurant feels very dark and mysterious. I sat at the bar although there were plenty of tables available. I'm happy I made that choice because our bartender Gabriella was amazing. She had a great personality and gave great recommendations for food and drinks. I'm a pescatarian so I tried the black bass and potatoes. I also ordered a side of the mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. I loved the potatoes and whatever sauce came with it. I also enjoyed the piloma picante from the cocktail menu. It had just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. Booked anniversary dinner for 4 - inside as the weather looked questionable 2 days before - as it turned out it was a beautiful evening on Thursday Aug 6th. Arrived at 5:30 for our 6:30 reservation thinking we could at least have a drink in the outside atrium - plenty of tables for 4 empty & or a bar seat - checked in & asked if we could change to outside & told no - completely booked and rushed us to our booth. However we saw & heard several parties come in with no reservations after us & were seated outside - I asked again after looking out there and seeing empty tables -nope! My sister in law asked a third time after she witnessed people being seated with no reservations outside! I don't understand why they would not accommodate us as they knew it was a special occasion! I want to start by saying the ambiance and décor here were top tier and very memorable. Unfortunately, my overall experience was very different from what I expected. My wife brought me here to celebrate my birthday. We had a 7:30 PM reservation, arrived on time, were seated within a couple of minutes, and were given water shortly after. After that, we sat for over 30 minutes without anyone taking our drink order. We eventually had to stop a staff member ourselves to request service. She took our drink and food orders on the spot. I ordered an Old Fashioned, which arrived half-filled--essentially a few sips--so be aware that drink portions are very small. We ordered our steaks well done, and the server mentioned they might take a while due to their thickness, which we understood. However, the steaks arrived in about 15 minutes along with the creamed spinach and mac and cheese. On the first cut of my New York strip, I immediately noticed pink. My wife's ribeye was the same. We waited a bit to send them back, but since no server came by and we were hungry, we reluctantly ate them anyway. Unfortunately, the steaks were completely unseasoned and easily the most bland, tasteless steaks I've ever been served. The sides, however, were flavorful and enjoyable. At that point, we were ready to leave and asked for the check. The staff member who took our order offered a complimentary chocolate cake to-go for our patience, which was appreciated. What a gem for date night. Located right by Fulton market, BLVD is a stunning steakhouse restaurant. We got a spothero near rather than paying for valet, but it wasn't too bad in pricing for valet if you wanted that option. Upon arrival you check in at the main host stand and they will tell you if you're sitting on the patio or inside. We were hoping to be seated inside but were directed outside. While the patio is heated, it wasn't quite what we expected. Nonetheless, it was cute. We were seated by the hostess and one of the server assistants came over and offered us bottled water or tap water. And bread quickly came out, it came with an olive oil, cheese spread, and butter with steak salt on top. The bread was a bit too oily as it was dripping over when I picked it up without being dipped but full of great flavor and wasn't hard. To start we got the tuna crudo and the French onion soup, the tuna crudo was great with their house made peppers on top. The French onion soup was stunning but tasted like it had far too much sherry in it that took away from the French onion flavors of the soup. For our entrees we ordered the porterhouse to share cooked medium rare, the Mac and cheese, 50/50 potatoes and the fries because we wanted to see what the beef fat fries tasted like. To start, we're usually not one to be picky about the temperature of steaks, but our steak was a weeee bit overdone when it came out. More like medium well than medium rare. But our server was quick to get a new one thrown on the grill and done right. While we waited we had the Mac and cheese and when it was the highlight of the night for me. The béchamel sauce with the cheeses was amazing! So good that we dipped the fries in it to make cheese fries. When the redone steak came out, it was perfect. We enjoyed it with the potatoes which were sooo smooth and melted in your mouth. With the porterhouse we also got the chimichurri sauce, which with the roasted garlic only amplified the flavors. To end the meal, we were so full from dinner that we decided not to get dessert. But our server remembered we mentioned my husband's birthday was last week and brought out a scoop of ice cream with a sparkler for him. We hosted our rehearsal dinner at BLVD, and it could not have been more perfect. The venue itself is absolutely stunning - dark, romantic, and dreamy in the best possible way. It created the exact atmosphere we were hoping for: intimate, elegant, and full of charm. Working with Emily made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. She was incredibly helpful, responsive, and made sure everything ran smoothly the night of. BLVD went above and beyond by letting us use their TV for a photo slideshow and their mic setup for a few speeches -- such a thoughtful touch. The Champagne Room was the ideal size for our group, and we loved that they set up a wine station near the entrance so guests could enjoy a drink right away without waiting at the bar. Every detail was perfectly executed, and the service was top-notch. We couldn't have asked for a better space or experience. 10/10 would recommend BLVD to anyone looking for a romantic, beautiful venue for a rehearsal dinner (or any special occasion!). read more

Came here for a date night on the patio, and I was surprised how empty it was because we loved our dinner! Service, food, ambiance, and drinks were all great. We started with the oysters and a spicy Paloma. So refreshing on this beautiful day! We got the bone in rib-eye, which was delicious and flavorful. My glass of cab went down with this perfectly. This was a huge cut, so our Mac and cheese and cauliflower sides were more than enough food. I also had a house salad, and we couldn't finish everything. All the dishes were so tasty though! This is our second time coming to BLVD, the first time was a good experience we had a Valentine dinner here around when it first opened. Overall it was a good experience. However, today we came in during happy hour on a Friday around 5:45. Service took a long time, my husband and I were pretty much ignored. The male server was a bit dismissive seemed like he was reluctant take our table. We ordered the mussels, sliders, wings, hotdog and a few other items off the happy hour menu, my husband really liked his drink, but honestly nothing was satisfying. Won't be coming back for a third time. read more
