Sat at the enclosed patio bar for drinks and dessert. Bartenders were friendly and attentive - even willing to change the tv channel. The key lime tart was delicious, I highly recommend it. Loved my cocktail, too.

Second time at BLVD! And I left impressed! First, The space is gorgeous. Very moody and sexy. The staff is amazing from the hosts to the servers and everyone in between. My very first visit we had a formal dinner for a friend's birthday. This visit me and a girl friend sat at the upstairs bar and just chatted. For this visit we kept it light. I ordered a sidecar with Hennessy, the BLVD burger and an order of fries. My go to was closed and rumor had it the burger here was good. And GOOD it was. The two bartenders upstairs were amazing! Warm, kind, very knowledgeable about the menu. They were also fun to talk to. Back to the food. Burger was moist and the garlic aioli and b sauce paired very well with it. Fries were fresh cut and tasty. If I add bacon to the burger I'll prob be back monthly. Hehehe I'll def be back for a third visit!

Tried the New Year's Eve three-course menu here and overall it was a pretty mid experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially the first-floor interior. When we arrived to check in for our prepaid reservation, they had overbooked and we ended up waiting about 50 minutes to be seated, which was frustrating. While they offered us a refund, its new years and not like we can just walk into another restaurant. It just felt poorly planned and overcrowded. There was also condensation dripping onto our table throughout dinner, which was kinda gross. Our server was fine and as accommodating as he could be given the situation, but the food didn't really make up for the experience. The mashed potatoes were the standout, but the salmon was overly salty. Overall, the experience fell flat and didn't feel worth the $95 price tag.

Visited for a friends birthday dinner. Food & drinks were pretty good. I had salmon & creamed spinach. I also had the lavendar lemon drop which was pretty good. Our server Rob was amazing. He gave recommendations & everything that he rec'd was good especially the cocktail. They have us a champagne toast to celebrate the lady fo the hr & a pretty good chocolate cake slice. I am not a chocolate cake person but this was surprisingly good! Just a heads up, they have a photography rule on their site that was not disclosed when we made our reservation. We specifically chose this place for the aesthetic & to take some pictures during the evening. Had we know about this ahead of time we would not have picked this place. I understand how it could be disruptive if it is excessive however as a paying guest we should be allowed a moment for photos, within reason. So just make sure you read that before going.

Let's start with the super positives! Service was incredible truly! A very tall curly haired man assisted us tonight and he was very kind and attentive! The atmosphere of the restaurant is very elegant and upscale! Super luxurious!! You have to request to sit downstairs which I'm sure is a different vibe! Upstairs around the chandelier it's a lot of waiters running cleared plates the whole night, which you'd think was kind of hidden for a luxury spot. Next the food was okay at best, and no where near the quality you'd expect for the price range! I couldn't recommend this place to anyone in good conscience with the price tag! I recently also tried Bavettes, spent half the amount of money and had leftovers! If you want somewhere that's just flash and quintessential west loop this is your spot

Highly disappointed in this experience. From beginning to end it was interesting. If you have a late reservation prepared to be rushed. Our reservation was for 9:15 pm on a Saturday evening 2 people. We pulled up in car service two gentlemen were standing outside I am guessing they were valet, they did not budge to assist with arrival lol. My friend had a boot on her foot you would think they would have some courtesy and open the door, nothing. I open the door to the restaurant it smells like a pound of weed. At that moment we should have left, it was late and we needed to eat so we stayed and gave the place the benefit of the doubt. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, after requesting the main floor especially because my company was injured and it was very apparent!!! Why would you seat us upstairs and she has a boot on her foot!!!??? We ended up taking their work elevator to get upstairs. Our waitress was definitely rushing us to order. I ordered a ginger ale twice, the second time the waitress stated we do not do refills.... ummm ok I still want it. Then she proceeds to ask is there something wrong with my stomach because I am ordering ginger ale. Just give me the ginger ale! Our waitress also asked if there were any allergies at the table, I stated yes avocado she says oh this is not a Mexican or Spanish restaurant so we won't have that problem. Again ummmmmm Ok! Totally unnecessary to say! After being asked every 2/3 mins if we were ready to order we ordered oysters to start which were not fresh! A filet mignon , branzino, mac and cheese, and asparagus. We did not eat the mac and cheese and the waitress left it on the bill. All the food was very blah and cold. Listen to this they charge for their in house steak sauce that is just a1 watered down, it was not good at all! We ordered a drink they were decent. I was so over it in that place! It was my birthday at that. They had the ice cream and fudge come out for my birthday with a candle and a card, real cute but no. Idk what kind of fudge was on that ice cream but it would not separate from the ice cream lol. The audacity to have staff patrolling around to tell people when and where they can take pictures lol, this place smells like weed, people have on sweatsuits and ski masks, give me a break! They should consider a dress code because I definitely felt out of place. I dine pretty well and often and this experience was just tacky! I need people to really review these places and be honest , and the only thing this place has going is the aesthetics. I know good service and food! I hope they make some changes and do well.

Came here for a friend's birthday. The decor in here is gorgeous and a perfect setting for a special birthday celebration. It was a big group of us and our waiter did a good job of attending to us. I only got a burger but it was very delicious and so were the fries! I would come back on a date to try their steak out that I'm sure is good.

Came here for brunch and had a great time! Our waiter was incredible! The hostess had the shakes that morning and broke a glass and brought us complimentary champagne which was nice! It is really pretty the only thing is that the train is right above so it is very loud. I got a Bloody Mary to start which was amazing. The Caesar salad here is one of my favorites. The croutons are crushed up, it was refreshing! For my main I got the prosciutto omelet. I loved this! Very filling too

    Old Fashioned

I want to start by saying the ambiance and décor here were top tier and very memorable. Unfortunately, my overall experience was very different from what I expected. My wife brought me here to celebrate my birthday. We had a 7:30 PM reservation, arrived on time, were seated within a couple of minutes, and were given water shortly after. After that, we sat for over 30 minutes without anyone taking our drink order. We eventually had to stop a staff member ourselves to request service. She took our drink and food orders on the spot. I ordered an Old Fashioned, which arrived half-filled--essentially a few sips--so be aware that drink portions are very small. We ordered our steaks well done, and the server mentioned they might take a while due to their thickness, which we understood. However, the steaks arrived in about 15 minutes along with the creamed spinach and mac and cheese. On the first cut of my New York strip, I immediately noticed pink. My wife's ribeye was the same. We waited a bit to send them back, but since no server came by and we were hungry, we reluctantly ate them anyway. Unfortunately, the steaks were completely unseasoned and easily the most bland, tasteless steaks I've ever been served. The sides, however, were flavorful and enjoyable. At that point, we were ready to leave and asked for the check. The staff member who took our order offered a complimentary chocolate cake to-go for our patience, which was appreciated. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. I had high expectations, and aside from the ambiance and décor, the experience fell very short.

Food and service was great. Ambiance was chill. We started with the east coast oysters and cocktails. The lavender lemon drop was amazing. The oysters were so fresh the house cocktail sauce was a hit. We tried the crab cake for an appetizer. Entre we tried the steak and roasted chicken l. The roasted chicken was dry so we switched it out for the sea bass. Which was delicious and way better. Sides we tried brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and mushrooms. Brussel sprouts were so delicious. I recieved a complimentary birthday dessert which was really nice. The staff signed a card for me as well. Overall I liked the experience. It was a bit pricey but worth it. I reccomend.

This place was recommended by my best friend. She went last year with her husband for his 40th and raved about it from how beautiful the ambiance was inside the restaurant to the food. We love fine dining so we decided to definitely make it a date night here while visiting Chicago. OMG and beauty is her name; the chandelier room and the dim lighting was such a nice touch especially for a date night. We were on the 2nd floor so it was nice views looking down below. From here though it kind of goes down hill. The waitstaff, she was not very friendly or welcoming. It was our first time here so greet us and make us feel welcoming especially since it was not CHEAP (by no means). She didn't do anything special, didn't get to know us or ask if we've been to the restaurant before or didn't give us any recommendations and there was another couple nearby us so I wanted to see if she gave the same energy and she did so at least I can say she was consistent. Food was just okay for the amount we spent, we would have expected better because we had better-we fine dine a lot so yeah it was just okay to us. Appetizers my husband had the shrimp cocktail and I had the beet salad; for our entrees, I had the halibut and my husband had the 10oz filet, we also had the macaroni and cheese and mushrooms as sides. My entree wasn't pretty for a picture looks wise (in my opinion) but it was surprisingly good. I was surprised they didn't have salmon or seabass on the menu though. The star of the show was the Mac and cheese-OMG now that I could have just had and been fine! It was cheesy, hot and so delicious! The mushrooms had a weird vinegar/sour taste to them which I was not a fan of so a little off putting for me. Lastly, for dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding and it was delicious too! 2nd best dish of the night! Oh and the wine was nice too! All in all, I definitely don't need to go back to this place but if you never tried this place before, definitely try it, I heard their happy hour is good. I'm glad that I did get to try it but for me there are better fine dining places I can go to that are worth the experience and money.

We came her for one of my friends birthday. When you first walk in it looks amazing. Very nice elegant and it looks bigger in the inside then on the outside. We made a reservation as it was 5 people. We checked our coats and then were shown to our table. When we arrived at our table we were greeted by our server and waters were brought out. We took some time to look over the menu and made a choice. We received complimentary champagne as it was my friends Birthday. When we ordered we were told that the steaks were Grilled so make have some Charred pieces. I ordered Steak and lobster and the table ordered Mashed Potatoes to share. The steak was dry and burnt. Lobster was okay but needed some seasoning as it was bland. I really enjoyed the Mashed Potatoes. When we finished our food. The Waitstaff came and cleared the plates. We were sitting there talking, laughing and opening gifts. I took a sip of my water and turned to say something to my friend I turned back around the waitstaff had taken my water. This wouldn't have been unusual but I had just taken a sip and the waitstaff was standing nearby and the water was more than half full. Plus no one else drinks were taken. I was very confused. It wasn't even close to closing for them to rush us as they did Overall, I didn't have a great experience as the food wasn't great and the wait staff will clear your whole table without you knowing. Plus it was a very expensive meal.

I was in the city for an event and decided to stop by BLVD for dinner on a whim. There's a decent amount of street parking surrounding the restaurant or you can opt for the valet. When I pulled up there happened to be a wide open spot in front of the restaurant so I snagged it. The restaurant is elegant and has very sexy vibes. Everything is pretty much black so the restaurant feels very dark and mysterious. I sat at the bar although there were plenty of tables available. I'm happy I made that choice because our bartender Gabriella was amazing. She had a great personality and gave great recommendations for food and drinks. I'm a pescatarian so I tried the black bass and potatoes. I also ordered a side of the mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. I loved the potatoes and whatever sauce came with it. I also enjoyed the piloma picante from the cocktail menu. It had just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. Overall, I had an enjoyable time at BLVD and would definitely recommend.

Do they have a custom birthday menu? Is it a good place for romantic birthday dinner?

I went for a birthday and I recall it reading "happy birthday" at the top but no name. And YES!!!!! Verrrry romantic. I'd say more on the romantic side than for any groups!!! Sexy and intimate for sure! Enjoy!

I have a foodie 13 year old. Appropriate to bring her?

Sure! Your 13yo foodie may find something she likes and be happy to try it out. We thought that the restaurant was winning more on the "look and feel" than food/taste. Just our opinion.

What's the average cost per person?

Depends on drinks and entrees. You can get a good steak for $30 but if you're eating the Seafood Tower ($150) it's gonna be higher. Lets play it safe and say $100 per person. That's a nice evening out with meal and two drinks.

Unfortunately Machine was not open, which is downstairs from this place, so we went here. Usually there is a bouncer outside, covering both places, but no one was at the door so me and The Queen walked upstairs. The bouncer was upstairs and saw us come in, so he asked for ID. He explained that everyone gets card before they come in, which is not a issue for me. The overall vibe, for me, was definitely a frat hangout vibe. There are arcade games all over the place and cutesy names for beers and cocktails, like the Froot Loops (vodka, coriander honey, oat milk, shochu, saline, milk carton, and froot loops). Man I do not do cocktails and this is the reason why. There is too much going on in that glass for me to deal with. Prices for cocktails range from $14-$15. BFF #1 got a vodka soda for $13, but looking at the size of the glass, it was on the small side. BFF #1 said it was on the weak side. I was happy to hear that there was prosecco, so I got that. The Doctor showed up and got a beer. The selection of beers was limited from what I could see on the wall, maybe there was a list someone else behind the bar. The bartender was a really sweet, she was all smiles and kept calling me baby, which was so funny to me. I tipped her well because she was great on them pours of prosecco. We did not do food as we were heading to Club Lago for dinner and I didn't realize that they had food until I checked into Yelp and saw the online menu. The Queen actually went to a DJ set here with Roosevelt, I believe, and said it was a good event. Not a place I would normally hang out in, but I can see the appeal for folks in their 20s as I would definitely say outside of The Queen, the three of us were the oldest folks in there. Lots of people taking Instagram photos and posing or making short videos with those ring lights. I imagine it can get super loud when it is busy, but that is a vibe for some folks. I would say if that is your thing, this is the place for you.

They've upped their happy hour game by including a rotating global cocktail with previous menu drinks and a daily kitchen special. This time, I ordered the oldest old fashioned and the Oaxaca old fashioned to drink. I thought the first was the best old fashioned I had ever had, but the second was even better! I loved the subtle yet not overpowering smokiness of the mezcal in the Oaxaca. Neither were too sweet and you could really taste the high quality bourbon. We ordered the Korean fried chicken and coconut shrimp to eat from the happy hour menu. The shrimp was super crispy with a delicious ginger-orange compote and rice vinegar pickled onions. Highly recommend! I did think the chicken was a bit tough, but the flavor was good. Another great experience of many to come! If you haven't stopped by Arbella yet, add this to your bucket list asap!

Several golf trips to the U.K. (Britain, Scotland, Wales) I got my fair share of excellent Fish & Chips; the best being in Ullapool, Scotland at The Seafood Shack I have never had better! But, leave it to Chicago to deliver some of the best fish and chips I've ever had in the USA, here at The Dearborn restaurant in the Chicago loop. Everything about The Dearborn's signature dish just worked in every way: The fish was fried perfectly The fish itself was moist and delicious The chips (fries) were excellent The coleslaw was the perfect side dish The tartar sauce was scrumptious My Krobacher Pilsner paired perfectly with my dinner The service was spot on And sitting at the bar watching the NBA playoffs didn't hurt either. I did have a scoop of delicious salted caramel gelato that finished this meal perfectly. Having such delicious fish & chips a few blocks away from where I live is certainly better than flying "over the pond" (a British term for the Atlantic Ocean).

Service was very helpful, friendly, a nice! The menu for breakfast is very good and they have a very popular and amazing coffee bar with lots of pastry options too. I chose their Bacon, Egg, & Cheddar Sandwich and asked for hash browns with it and for those to be extra crispy. Starting with their regular coffee - it was great! Then the food came out relatively quickly and looked amazing! The egg was PERFECTLY (ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY!) cooked! The sandwich came together and tasted amazing... I especially loved the bites of freshly sliced jalapeño and the arugula in the sandwich too!! The has browns were made the way I asked and tasted sooo good! Overall, I would definitely recommend giving them a try and I can see why the reviews were so good! My visit was very nice.

As for the food: I understand that this is very subjective, but neither my husband nor I enjoyed the appetizers. That said, my husband did like the kebab. I had the whitefish - overall, it was pretty good. If it weren't for the lemon, the dish would have felt like it was missing some brightness in flavor. The service was very polite - no complaints at all.

So disappointed. I…read morecame about 5 years ago and loved my meal, especially the sticky date cake, which lingered in my memory as my favorite all time dessert. This year I was so excited to bring my family and Ema was the only restaurant in Chicago I couldn't wait for them to try. I booked it as our final meal in Chicago and lay awake at 4am being so disappointed in my choice. Our server's greeting was monotone and emotionless, which I realize now, would be foreshadowing the meal to come. Ordered the following 1) Smoky eggplant- arrived appearing as an unappetizing curdled purple grey mush. This was the worst tasting baba ghanouj I have ever eaten. It was acidic and had the texture of cottage cheese. The only redeeming thing about this appetizer was the warm naan. 2) house made stratciatella with side of green falafels- The stratciatella was bland and stringy. I would not order this dish expecting the creamy interior of typical burrata. However, if you like string cheese mixed with heavy cream- you may enjoy this dish. The tomatoes and basil were good. 3) chicken kefta- kefta was bland, rice even blander . 4) short rib with polenta- bland and the meat and polenta had the same texture, which seems impossible but somehow the plating was over complicated by the addition of mushy dates and grapes. 5) buttered noodles- my 8 year old ordered this. It was decent with a good amount of Parmesan and cooked perfectly al dente. By the end of the meal, I was so shocked by how terrible the food was I didn't even want to order the sticky date cake that was my main purpose for returning to this restaurant. Ema, what happened to you?!

Background on me- I've worked in the food industry at low and high levels, eaten in many countries…read more Started from the bottom type of person- anyway I don't leave reviews. My experience went exactly like this. Imagine going to a movie, one of the better movies you've ever seen. You paid a premium to see this film ahead of time. 30 min in they begin to fast forward, skip scenes, turn the lights on and begin clean up. What I mean is on my engagement night, after a long long day I took my foodie wife to be out for a $300 "experience" which is really just sitting in front of the dessert station next to the expo area. So the food was ok- for all the knowledge ZERO cuts of quality meat. A little goat on a stick and a little tuna poke- the rest veggies which whatever is fine I'm just saying. I spent another $75 on drinks. OpenTable allowed me to book this at 1030pm the restaurant closes at 11pm I was upset and management would not come over and say hi or comp a drink. What restaurant would you be able to call and book a 6 course dinner experience 30min before close? Because it's an app you can hide behind the fact I should be looking at when you close to not book it? Managers profited $300 off me can't comp a drink on our engagement? I had a lovely time, the food wasn't bad, some interesting, service was ok, chefs stoners waiting to get off work. I get it. It's probably worth it but do not hit the last time or they act like you are keeping them late- which we did. I'd never book an experience 30min before close if I put it together. A cheap way for an app and restaurant to squeeze hard earned money out of peoples pockets is what I saw. Cheers
