We just finished our delicious American Breakfast of sunny side up eggs, thick bacon, breakfast potatoes and English muffin and I had to write about how good it was immediately! Perfectly cooked and seasoned and the right temperature! Also, the coffee was delicious and the right strength and temperature. I feel so energized now and ready to keep going on tours! We woke up very tired this morning from the last 2 days of exciting back to back sightseeing. We did an online order and walked next door to pick it and bring it to our room. L & L kitchen is at the London House next to Royal Sonesta Hotel. The restaurant is clean and cozy with indoor and outdoor seating. Very nicely decorated. The staff were friendly and efficient. Sitting indoors or outdoors is great. I don't know about parking because we are Ubering or taxiing everywhere. There is lots of traffic everywhere! I don't see parking lots anywhere. Lots of public transportation though. I highly recommended this place!

Reducting here for a quick bite we had a late dinner reservation, but we're a little hungry food. Here was pretty good pretty quick and not too expensive. The menu is light but definitely has enough to keep everyone happy they serve breakfast all day which was a plus and they do have an unlimited mimosa you can add on, which is a good idea if you're looking for somewhere to lunch and brunch. It's in the main area of Chicago by the Riverwalk so again really easy to get to it. It's just a little hidden gym outdoor patio if it's nice definitely a plus.

Really enjoyed the lunch special at Land & Lake Kitchen near Chicago's riverfront. I ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was tender, juicy, and delicious. The hot honey sauce paired perfectly with the soft brioche bun. The atmosphere was calm but welcoming, making it a perfect before-work lunch spot since I work in the afternoon. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back again soon!

(3/5) Land & Lake Kitchen occupies prime real estate at the base of the London House Hotel and appears to be the designated breakfast destination for approximately half of downtown Chicago. The place bustles. The hostesses bustle. The servers bustle. The coffee flows. The Arnold Palmers flow. Everything moves with the efficient urgency of a restaurant that knows exactly what it is doing. The service deserves special recognition. Everyone was genuinely pleasant, attentive, and quick. Coffee refills appeared before I knew I wanted them. Cream arrived. Water arrived. Arnold Palmers arrived. At one point I believe my hydration level increased by several percentage points during a single breakfast. I ate here two mornings in a row while recovering from what historians may eventually refer to as The Chicago Incident. The first morning I ordered a cheeseburger because life is short and vacation rules apply. It arrived as a towering monument to excess: juicy, slightly greasy, and approximately eight inches tall. This was not a sandwich so much as an engineering project. Unfortunately, my digestive system was still negotiating terms with the previous evening's decisions, so I managed only a few bites before surrendering. The second morning I ordered the American Breakfast. The eggs were fine. The potatoes were fine. The sourdough toast was excellent. The jam was so good that I took a photograph of the package so I could buy some later. The chicken sausage, however, was a surprise. Not because it was bad, but because it tasted like someone had accidentally crossed breakfast sausage with dessert. It was sweet. Very sweet. Alarmingly sweet. I ate one. The second one and I agreed to part as friends. The greatest challenge at Land & Lake may actually be the seating. If you are seated at one of the narrow communal tables, prepare to become unusually familiar with your neighbors. At certain points I felt close enough to assist with nearby financial transactions. The real issue, however, is value. Breakfast for one person ran approximately $50 each visit. For fifty dollars, expectations begin to drift toward lobster, champagne, and perhaps a small string quartet. Instead, what you receive is a very good hotel breakfast. Final verdict: Excellent service. Excellent beverages. Good food. Excellent toast. Questionable sausage. London House prices. If you're staying at the hotel, it's a convenient and pleasant choice. If you're coming solely for breakfast, there are probably better values elsewhere in Chicago. More bark than bite.

Brunch today was at Land & Lake at the London House Chicago. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window and had a wonderful city view to enjoy while eating. My husband had the tomato and goat cheese scramble, and I had avocado toast with poached eggs. My husband thought his breakfast was tasty, although the scramble wasn't a large portion. My avocado toast was good with perfectly poached eggs. The breakfast potatoes on both our dishes were a good-sized portion. We also ordered a fruit cup to share. I felt $7 was a lot for a small cup of bananas, blueberries strawberries. he also ordered a chocolate croissant to share. Unfortunately, it was very dry. Maybe if they had heated the pastry it would've tasted better. I was disappointed the restaurant did not offer a cappuccino or latte, only regular black coffee. I'd go back for the avocado toast.

Staying at the LondonHouse, eating breakfast here was an easy and economical choice. We were seated immediately and the place is bright and airy. We ordered a vegetarian omelet with goat cheese and French toast with our breakfast credit. The coffee was hot and strong. The food was delicious and the extra biscuit we ordered was also great. Our server Jhony was super nice and made sure our coffee mugs were full. They have a cute room on the side where a girls brunch would be appropriate.

Plebeian. Basic. OVERPRICED. Limited options. PARSIMONIOUS on pancake syrup and butter (1 pat) and they cannot even be bothered to have real Maple syrup and offer no other options. The non-maple syrup is in TINY cups. (Do they measure it with an eye dropper? ) Flavorless and bland food. Coffee is terrible. Egg was rubbery. Sausage was cold. For the price: the pancakes I ordered SHOULD have included the eggs and sausage. This place was recommended by the staff at the hotel next door. It was close and convenient, that's about it. I'm very disappointed!

This is a great spot with a great location. Had a couple great drinks and good food. The service was great and easy to go to the boat tour afterwards.

2nd time & year coming here with my coworkers prior to an outing on the river. Upon arriving our host was very interesting - she immediately told us that we needed to get our breakfast order in or we won't have any. We said okay as we were seated. The waiters came (with one in training) and took our bottomless mimosa orders. They dropped off the drinks and said they'd be back to take our orders and are that we didn't see them for 30+ min. We were worried cause at this point we were going to miss breakfast! They finally came and took our order and then the hostess came over to tell us she's going to let us pass. Like it was our fault that our waiter didn't come to take our breakfast order in a timely manner especially after her initial warning. That's why 2 stars are taken away. Anyway after that debacle we kept drinking and finally got our food and that's where the 3 stars come into play because the steak and potatoes were great. Steak was cooked really well! We did leave feeling good as well from the mimosas so that's a plus.

I had the tomato soup (yum), it was super creamy and great for a cold day. The caesar salad was okay, could have been better but was still pretty good. The service was great and I loved the view! I went right at sunset so we got to see that with the city views while still sitting inside!

The food portions weren't the largest, however the staff was phenomenal. They made my birthday feel so special and brought everything within 5 min. Our waitress was stephanie and she did a great job, wouldn't wish for anyone else!

We came inside for a quick Father's Day breakfast. It was pretty packed but I didn't have to wait to be seated. It was clean and very organized on the inside! Server came out in a timely manner. I ordered the Chicago hash. It was okay. The sauce wasn't my favorite nor was the corned beef. It's not the canned corned beef. It was good I just think I'd do no sauce next time. I stuck with water because I prefer fresh squeezed orange juice. It was a quick bite to eat! Probably in and out in 40 minutes

So cute little sidewalk restaurant. They were very busy. Our poor waiter was run ragged. The food was very tasty. I loved the chocolate croissant. At one point the waiters tray became off balanced and a can of beer fell at our feet spraying me with beer. The waiter was so sorry he didn't charge us for our drinks. Also he mentioned they were a breakfast restaurant and they ran out of Eggs and bacon. I think the weekend before Memorial Day caught them off guard. It was very busy in the city. At any rate I would recommend this restaurant- staff nice and food delicious

The first thing I noticed walking in was the ambiance. Nice decor with a city hotspot feel. We had a teen and tween with us and both found something on the menu. Most of us ordered bowls with sesame sauce which were delicious. We each ordered different meats with our bowls and no complaints. My son had a crispy chicken sandwich which he devoured and my daughter had a quesadilla which they prepared especially for her without any sauce. Everything was tasty. We had a problem with our order when my daughter found a small piece of plastic wrapper in her food. We told our waiter and he immediately informed management. The manager came over and offered a new plate but my daughter was fine having the current plate. So instead, she comped her meal and gave her a choice of dessert with a gigantic milk. Despite the minor glitch, this place deserves 5 stars for the way they handled this issue. We feel they went above and beyond to remedy the situation. If only all restaurant management were like this. If we are ever in Chicago again, we will be back.

No notes. The sandwich had candied bacon on it with this perfect sweet flavor, and it normally comes with honey Dijon--but I don't do Dijon, so I swapped it for this garlic sauce ‍ And when I say that garlic tanginess mixed with the sweet candied bacon... whew. Chef's kiss. Absolute perfection. My boyfriend got the steak wok bowl with corn, broccoli, brown rice, and some other veggies--and I definitely stole a few bites It was SO good. Like... flavorful, fresh, just everything. The whole vibe? Perfect for a lunch date. The ambiance was cute, relaxed, and just right And I loved that they serve room temperature water (because ice? not my thing ‍) But let's talk about the real star--our waiter Eli He was AMAZING. Super personable, funny, and just a whole vibe. He had the cutest red cat-eye nails and burgundy hair accents--like, style on point He told us he manages both the Gold Coast and River North locations, so I'm definitely hoping we run into him again. And when me and my boyfriend were holding hands at the end, he goes, "Aww this is so cute. I'm not jealous though" we all cracked up. Just made the experience even better. Listen... 5 stars is not enough. It's just not. If you've been thinking about going--THIS IS YOUR SIGN. Go. I promise you won't regret it

It is a must visit - if only all hotel restaurants were this good. We had a late dinner reservation on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was almost emptied out. So that made for a lovely, semi-private dining experience. Selecting a wine was dicey, as earlier that week flooding had damaged the cellar (!), but our server, Alex, was very helpful and worked with us to find something to my liking. We landed on a 2015 Cornas which was showing beautifully and matched perfectly with our meal. Alex did a fantastic job taking care of us during the wine reconnaissance and throughout the meal. Speaking of which, we started with the deviled eggs, which were amazing. An elegant balance of cream and salt from the caviar. For my entree, i had the venison. It was a seared filet on I believe a sweet potato puree, and it was rich and tender. Order it rare, if its on the menu. Kelly had the filet, also rare, and found it to be superior to most Chicago steak house filets. Our side was the divinely creamy Aligot mashed potatoes. Don't skip on these! For dessert, there was a decadent, gout-tempting chocolate mousse preparation. Served tableside, its all you think you can eat. I had a heaping serving, ate some, took the rest home. Kelly had the (also) Decadent Chocolate Cake, which too was superb. Cocktails were excellent, as is the bourbon selection. Service was impeccable. The hostess at the restaurant entrance points you to the happy hour area with the expectation of another person in the section to sit you. But the staff in the section ignored me for 15 mins to the point that I sat anywhere in the section and got scolded by a waitress. But otherwise the staff were friendly and welcoming. I was able to get two meals out of my order. I also got to try the elote appetizer which was delicious. I could see myself ordering that again in the future. The biggest thing I noticed is the cheesecake slices have gotten much smaller. There was once a time when the slice would sit upright and almost touch each side of the slice box but now it's gotten so small they have to lay the slice on the side.
