    American burger

Great restaurant with a nice patio and super close to Soldier Field! Even though our server was the only one for the entire patio, he was attentive and really good at this job. I think what made this work was that other people brought the food out from the kitchen so that allowed him to focus on the customers which was a good strategy! The burger was juicy and very tasty! I was a little disappointed in the chicken for the salad because it was very bland and squishy but overall we had a great time for dinner!

American Breakfast with supposedly over easy eggs

Why do I keep coming here and expecting a different result? Over easy eggs were hard and burned on the bottom. Potatoes were overdone and tasteless. Weirdest English muffin I've ever had. And the Bloody Mary I ordered when I first sat came 15 minutes AFTER my food and only when I asked about it. No one checked on me or asked how my food was. I finally just flagged the waiter down for the check and paid.

I came here with some friends to enjoy their HH specials. We didn't make a reservation but asked if we can be seated by the window where there were booths available. This was on a Thursday around 5pm and the place was basically empty except for 2 tables that were occupied by 2-4 people each. The server said no because they're reserved and that high tops were the only option so I went on open table and made a reservation. I told him I made a reservation and he was able to seat us at a booth. I thought this was a bit ridiculous because they clearly had a ton of empty tables and it took an extra step to get to the same result. The ambiance is nice if people wanted to come here and chill. Basic food that you can't really mess up on. We had a couple rounds of drinks and each ordered a burger plus 2 fries. The price is decent for the amount of food you get in this economy. Might come back for HH, but other than that I don't see myself paying full price since service nor food were top notch.

Great place for salads. Fresh lite and I had grilled shrimp on top. Take a look at pic. Very nice

We were walking and saw that they had a happy hour menu on Sunday so we popped in. The staff was really nice and welcoming. We ordered drinks and really liked them. I got i think the lakeside punch which was BOMB! Then we ordered the corn & cheddar fritters and yall they were really yummy. We didn't see any pics of them on here so were kinda skeptical but pleasantly impressed. The fries were fresh and so crispy. The salad was good and my friend said her pasta was tasty. Everyone was checking in on us frequently and made sure we were set. Definitely will be back. Really enjoyed our time.

First off, the service was 5 stars amd genuinely friendly. From the hostess to our server. Wait was short even in a busy Saturday. Prices were average. Better than your average hotel restaurant. My 17 year old said this was the best burger he'd had in recent memory. I had the standard American breakfast.

Well... I was going to post BOTH our breakfasts but... apparently it was delicious

Eat here!! Would change absolutely NOTHING! I was going to post about both my husbands and my breakfast but by the time I whipped out my phone his was pretty much gone. He agrees it was delicious.

Chicago The restaurant is located at street level in Le Meridian Essex Chicago hotel. It's bright, holiday shiny and feels sleek and inviting. We sat at the window and loved the street view. Everything feels new and fresh here which makes me think they have done a recent renovation. We were served professionally and in a friendly way. Chicago is not exactly a hub of smiles and high-level customer service n the winter but our waiter was exceptionally warm and welcoming. Coffee came quick with refills when needed. We ordered off a brunch type menu and had the sausage scramble and the croissant breakfast sandwich. Both came with twice-"baked home fries which were ok but nothing to put in your recipe book. I'd say the food was like 3.5 stars, ambience was 4 stars but the service was 5 stars which weighed heavily in my review. Great ambience. The place was busy all morning and the service was really the standout here. Definitely exceeded my expectations.

Very cute, inviting spot but a little underwhelming/disappointing in terms of delivery/flavor. I stopped by here for breakfast before heading to a conference and was immediately drawn in by the light/bright/clean decor. It was still pretty early, about 8am, and I sat at the bar next to a couple other patrons. I ordered a black coffee and decided ultimately on the avocado toast with fruit instead of breakfast potatoes. The bartender was friendly and prompt and my plate came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, it was just really bland and lacking in flavor. I salt/peppered it and also asked for some hot sauce which they fortunately had. But overall it just missed the mark for me. In retrospect, I wish I had gone with one of the benedicts (they had one with salmon I was eyeing). Price wise too, $30 (after tax/tip) for a slice of toast and coffee is really pushing it in my opinion, especially when the flavor is just missing. Maybe breakfast/brunch isn't the specialty here. If I did go back, it would definitely be to try their happy hour/lunch/dinner menu!

Used to be wonderful but now you'll get a plate of slop. It's as if they laid off the entire kitchen and are just winging it. It's a really nice space that deserves a quality restaurant. I had the veggie burger.. meh. My husband had a salad. It's expensive for what you get. Look further.

I loved the modern interior and child enjoyed the fuzzy, soft undersides of the tables. I ordered from the restaurant week menu and had the following: warm seafood salad (calamar, octopus, lemon vinaigrette), cacio e pepe' polenta (brisket ragù, sunny egg), and cinnamon roll. I didn't care for the warm seafood salad as it was overly oily and passed it off to hubby to finish. The cacio e pepe polenta was good but the portion size was so small I finished it in like 3 bites. I was excited for the cinnamon roll but it was a letdown. Our friend who dined with us described it as the "driest cinnamon roll he has ever eaten." I ordered the frittata Española (potatoes, fontina, piperade) for my child which was pretty standard. There was maybe a 30 minute delay between the time we finished each dish and when the next one would appear. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy but there seemed like there were only 2 chefs working at the time.

View is also decent with big windows and good natural lighting. To start we got the fries and Brussel sprouts. Both were super good. The brussel sprouts came with jalapeños in it which went well together. I love that there are so many vegetarian options here. I got the mushroom steak which was a cool unique dish. The gravy it comes in was yummy. For sides I got the Mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes which were both delicious. I got the mule cocktail twice and it was so good I would definitely get it again. Could barely taste the alcohol. For dessert we got the strawberry tres leches which is again a unique dish and a very vibrant color. The only thing I'd say is that the service here wasn't too good. They also brought out our bill prematurely when we weren't done ordering more food and drinks.
