All I can say is WOW! Last night in Chicago and what a perfect way to end it at Cindy's Rooftop. Make sure you get reservations ( 14 days before ). Can't miss it ! The views are incredible and make sure you come for nighttime views as well. We had the tuna tartare ( delish !) the strip steak was really great. The rigatoni vodka was in a special lemon whipped ricotta HEAVEN! Bread and herb app delish. I can't believe this mocktail !! Beautiful, grand old school lobby that takes you back in time. Rooftop restaurant and bar just as special with a great view of the park and lake. Great vibe and ambiance. Service was to be as expected, top notch. Small menu but enough to appeal to all tastes and needs. Decided to go light for dinner and I chose the caesars salad with salmon. Great flavors and toppings on the salad. Salmon was just ok. Coworkers had tuna tartare (excellent) and the beet salad also with salmon (really good). Split the roasted carrots which were delicious, especially the sauce.
We visited Chicago and we looked forward to every single meal we made reservations for, and both me and my husband agreed Cindy's rooftop is the top among all the restaurants we visited. We went on the memorial weekend, and we didn't know we are getting the brunch intead of the lunch menu. We were so gonna get that fish and chips equivalent, so it took us some time to finally decided on the meal choice. My husband got the breakfast with chicken sausages, while I got the burger. Their burger is great with two thin patties. The veggies and pickles with it is delicious. The bun is pretty good. The fries was decent. His breakfast is so much better than mine though! I tried everything on his plate and it was good! After we finished our meal, we also took some nice pictures at the balcony which you can see all the way to the Field Museum area on a nice weather day. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Grant Park area. We actually visited the cloud gate, fountain, The cultural center, Target/5 below, comic stores, route 66 sign, Chicago stock exchange arch, and the art institution all in that trip. Very convenient! Their reservation opens 2 weeks before. If we ever go back to Chicago, we will definitely visit them again. Hopefully I will complete my Invisalign treatment and can actual eat more food! The elevator is very "vintage" btw. We tried both the express and regular elevators and that was an interesting ride...
My friend and I were in Chicago recently and stayed at the Chicago Athletic Association. Our reservation was made using The Hotel Collection, and it came with a credit, which we used in part for a late night snack and drinks at Cindy's Rooftop. While I wasn't a big fan of the taste of my drink and dessert, my friend enjoyed both of theirs. Rather, the service was excellent and the views were amazing. My friend ordered The Rocher for dessert, which includes hazelnut cake, mascarpone chantilly, and smoked maldon salt. I ordered a Baked Alaska, consisting of citrus cake, lemon cream, toasted meringue, and salted white chocolate crunch. We both also ordered cocktails. I cannot recall the name of the drinks. I asked for my drink to be fruity and sweet, but it wasn't enough of either for me. The Baked Alaska was fine but too much of various flavors. I wouldn't fault the restaurant for the drink or dessert taste as I know others really enjoyed theirs. Our server was most attentive and very helpful. We found that making a reservation on Open Table only offered a certain number of time slots, and all of them involved having dinner and not just drinks or a dessert. Reservations can also be made on their website though we chose to speak to the front desk about a reservation. Going up to the bar is first come, first serve though. We ended up making an Open Table reservation and were told it was okay to only order drinks and desserts. Cindy's is named in honor of Marian "Cindy" Pritzker, a beloved Chicago philanthropist. It sits on top of the 13th floor of the hotel under a glass atrium and offers views of Millennium Park, Lake Michigan, and beyond. My friend suggested we meet up here and it definitely felt special because we hadn't seen each other in four years! But Cindy's made it even better. The food was okay but the view was incredible. I've never seen the Bean from above before and wow, I'm a changed woman. I will be back every time I want to show off the city to out-of-towners! Reservation is a must have
Truly amazing!! The view was spectacular (despite it being a cloudy day), service was great, food was DELICIOUS, and drinks were perfect!! We got the bread and herb butter, mushroom risotto, rigatoni, margarita, and Hugo spritz. All great! Will definitely be returning on our next Chicago trip.
The ambiance is jist what yoi would expect for a delightful dinner in Chicago. You can walkoit pn the rooftop and experience beautiful views of highrise buildings, Lake Michigan, and the famous bean. The menu is extremely to limited, although the waitress noted that the oysters are a favorite among customers. I had the Rigatoni Alla Vockda which includes a lemon ricotta, it was a nice flavor however the rigatoni was more than aldenti. I also had charred brocolini. It was very hard to chew, and while the fried onions and sauce op top were good, the texture was not and its likely my fault i didnt realize charr meant the flavor would taste like a burnt cigarette. We didnt try dessert.
I made a reservation to celebrate my partner's birthday. When we got there they said they'd text us when our table was ready but to feel free to have a drink at the bar and check out the views, which are beautiful. We got a drink then the text came through and we sat at our table. For appetizers, we had a dozen oysters. They were so fresh and flavorful. For dinner, I had the mushroom risotto with chicken and he had the duck pot pie. Risotto is something I have been looking for since I tried many years ago at the now closed Pompeii Orland Park location. They had an amazing risotto. Well, Cindy's I have to say is even better. The risotto was so creamy and rich in flavor. The mushrooms were delicious and the chicken was the perfect addition. The pot pie was full of duck meat and veggies. It was very delicious and would definitely recommend it! We also had the broccolini as a side to share, it is a very big order and very very flavorful. The char gave it such a unique, great test. I was surprised to have finished our food completely it was that good . The server brought out a small slice of cake to celebrate the birthday. The perfect dessert. I would definitely come back to try out their brunch menu.
IF YOURE IN TOWN PLEASE DONT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE! Beautiful views, sensational service, and the food was phenomenal. You can taste the quality immediately. It was a little hard to find if you're not reading, but its inside a hotel property (next to Acanto) and its on the top floor, just ask whoever's at the desk to point you in the direction of the elevator! Make a reservation! We went on a Friday morning at 11:30 AM and it wasnt busy at all until about 12:30 PM. Super relaxing atmosphere and comfy seats. We had the smash burger and grilled chicken sandwich. Both were to die for but the grilled chicken sandwich especially impressed us. Truffle fries were a must, of course. Their mimosas (cranberry and pineapple) were really good too, just stronger than you might think! Andy was our server and was very attentive and kind. We also got to talk to Ennis (i hope that's how you spell it) and he treated us like old friends and gave us a really nice conversation and even recommendations on what to do in town! The outdoor balcony was really impressive, too, with views to the bean, the lake, and the art Institute. You can even take your drinks out there after you order food and still have your table. We heard the grilled cheese is great so we'll be coming back for that next time!
This place has an awesome view! When weather permits, outside seating is quite nice. Since we visited here without reservations, it was first come first serve at the bar. In that area, bartenders are quick to acknowledge and engage. This is something that I appreciate quite a bit. Helps with settling folks down and getting a drink in their hand. Since we had a sitting spot at the bar, we decided to order a few dishes which tasted amazing. Scallops was my favorite. Truffle fries had a unique sauce that had me visiting it frequently like an ice cream shop on a hot day. Overall, it was a fun experience with our bar tender with great food and service. Can't wait to visit again when weather is nice again.

Late night dinner and sips after the ghost gangster tour around Chicago! We picked Cindy's rooftop at the Chicago Athletic Association on the 13th floor for stunning skyline views which was the perfect spot to just unwind from the busy day. Though we couldn't see much of Lake Michigan, we knew it was just right there. We enjoyed the fresh Caesar salad, creamy Rigatoni alla Vodka, and warm bread with herbed butter. , and an espresso martini and a glass of prosecco. For dessert, we ordered the baked Alaska (So good), and coffees which ended the night with perfection. Service: Cheers to Anthony for the wonderful service and great menu suggestions! read more

Good oysters. Good service. Fantastic view. I finally got a chance to check out Cindys. Theres usually the longest of lines to get in. But, it was winter but still worth the visit. The building which is the athletic association was beautiful and I enjoyed the view. read more

Cindy's is so bright during the day and has such a fun brunch vibe. The mimosas were great, we loved the avocado toast, and the Chilaquiles were very flavorful. We had no problem waiting for our table on the sunny rooftop deck with our mimosas. Service was efficient but not overly friendly. read more

The views. The service and the drinks! Very good quality and if there is a certain drink you would like the bartenders have been great to make accordingly. Also the view outside is beautiful at night because you can see the bean! read more

This was a fun experience! It was a gloomy cold day in Chicago, but you didn't feel it being on the roof at Cindy's. I got the duck pot pie and loved it! It was the perfect rainy meal. My date got the pasta and added chicken I believe. He loved it! We walked outside with our coats to look at the view. I would definitely recommend for a date night if possible or that perfect sunset evening view. read more
Came here on Christmas Eve with my sister and had the best time! I love it here, the inside is stunning and I love that you can bring your drink outside to look at the stunning view and take pictures! Service was great! Everything was brought out very timely! I got a Bloody Mary to drink which was perfection! We split the oysters and chilaquiles. I always say the oysters at Cindy's are some of the best! I love them so much! The chilaquiles blew me away. Cindy's Rooftop restaurant has unbeatable views of Millenium Park. The restaurant is located on the rooftop of the beautiful historic Chicago Athletic Club. Even on a cloudy day the natural light pours into the large bustling dining room. The restaurant has an elegant feel; however, has a large bar for those just wanting to meet up for cocktails and to enjoy the people watching and city views. The service was great, we didn't feel rushed and our server knew both the food and drink menu well and was helpful. Entrée portions were on the small side, but were all delicious. Cindy's would be a great place to take out of towners for cocktails, a good light meal and views of Millenium Park! read more

Super beautiful rooftop restaurant and bar. We came here before a bears game for brunch and we were seated right away even though we didn't have a reservation. The views are amazing of millennium park and the lake, and they had fire pits going as well outside on the deck. My husband and I got the pumpkin monkey bread to share. For entrees I got the chilaquiles which were incredibly filling and a little spicy. My husband got the shrimp and grits which were hearty and rich in flavor. Definitely recommend coming here for the food! Service was friendly but a little slow. It took them quite some time to bring our appetizer out. And our waiter forgot some items on our receipt which I had to remind him about. read more
First time coming to Chicago with my friend (who lives here) and she got us a reservation at Cindy's Rooftop for lunch! Cindy's is located in the downtown Chicago area atop the Chicago Athletic Association. The view from the restaurant is stunning and gives guests a really lovely view of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. The terrace is open year-round and is a wonderful spot to get pictures and take in the view! The interior is cozy and welcoming, with vibrant, modern touches. I loved that there was a glass atrium, really added to the ambiance and was unique. This is definitely a popular spot and I would recommend getting a reservation via OpenTable to ensure you get a spot. The service was excellent and very accommodating. All the servers do a great job of topping off guests waters and ensuring they have a good experience. Their lunch menu isn't huge but has something for everyone. They offer a couple starters, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. We opted to not get a starter. For my entree, I ordered the Lamb Shawarma Bowl with a side of fries and my friend ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. The food arrived within 15-20 minutes of ordering, which seemed appropriate. I enjoyed getting to take a moment to enjoy the restaurant and chit chat with my friend as we waited. My Lamb Shawarma Bowl was beautiful and a large portion. The bowl included basmati rice, tabouli, feta, tomato, pickled red onion, hummus, and pita. I really appreciated that there were minimal amounts of rice as it let the other components shine. The tabouli, tomatoes, and cucumbers were really fresh and paired excellently with the smoky lamb. The hummus was super smooth and I loved the olive oil in the center--very tasty! The pita it was served with was warm and great to dip into the bowl too. My side of fries was also great. They were some of the better fries I've had to be honest. Nice and crispy on the outside, not overly greasy, and salted just right! I would recommend anything we ordered, it was all very impressive. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my experience at Cindy's! The food was phenomenal, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is the best. All the food was full of flavor and were elevated versions of "traditional" lunch dishes in my opinion. The service especially was quite impressive. My friend received her sandwich with aioli after requesting to have it removed when ordering. When the food came out, her sandwich had the aioli on it. Our server sent it back immediately and without hesitation he got it removed from our bill. We don't request for it, but went out of the way to make up for the small error. This was unexpected but appreciated! If you are in the area, I would highly recommend Cindy's. The food, the views, the service--all of it is wonderful! read more
Cindy's Rooftop is THE place to be in Chicago. It's located above the 13th floor of the Chicago Athletic Association hotel under a stunning glass atrium. I came at opening time thinking I could grab a table without a reservation but it was already packed. The draw here is that you get a beautiful view of Millennium Park if you have one of the few tables outside. You can also just grab a drink at the bar and stand outside. I ended up leaving but was able to book a lunch reservation for a Thursday a few days later. Reservations typically seem to be booked up far in advance. My mom and I returned and requested to be seated under the atrium in the main room when they tried to seat us in the side room and they obliged. We both ordered the Lobster & Prawn Raviolo. Keep in mind that a raviolo is one large filled pasta, which our server kindly reminded us of upon ordering so that we wouldn't be surprised. I thought the pasta was too thick and chewy, and the filling lacked flavor. I did enjoy the prawn bisque it was served in. I think it's worth stopping in here for a drink and the view! read more

Cindy's Rooftop is one of those spots that instantly delivers a cool, energetic vibe. Located on the 13th floor of the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel--perfect for a special night out. My husband and I stopped in before a concert, and from the start, the experience felt elevated--literally. There's an elevator operator and a check-in desk on the first floor, so reservations are a must if you want to avoid a long wait. We went in the evening, so we missed out on the full views of Lake Michigan and Millennium Park since it was dark. I can only imagine how stunning it is during the day. NOTE: the tables are fairly close together, which makes it a bit tough to have a private conversation. We shared the charcuterie board, which was more than enough for two--perfect since we didn't want to overdo it before a night of dancing. Overall, it was a great pre-event spot, and I'd absolutely go back--next time for brunch or lunch to really soak in the views and get the full Cindy's experience. If you're driving, I highly recommend using the SpotHero app to make parking easy and stress-free. read more
Stopped by Cindy's Rooftop after a nice dinner. Ordered the Island Time cocktail. The drink was refreshing with a tropical flavor profile, balanced and easy to sip while taking in the scene. The real standout here is the view. From the terrace you get a sweeping look over Millennium Park with The Bean and the Crown Fountain, the lake, and the skyline all at once. It's one of the best vantage points in the city for both daytime and evening. It does get busy, so there can be a wait, but once you're up there it feels worth it. A solid spot for a cocktail with a view that captures Chicago at its best. read more

Go for the view, stay for the food!! Cindy's rooftop is one of a kind. I have enjoyed drinks overlooking millennium park before, but went for brunch and am still dreaming of the banana bread. Do not sleep on the banana bread starter with whipped cream and pineapple compote. I also loved Cindy's unique breakfast potatoes and the meal as a whole. read more
The food at Cindy's Rooftop is unparalleled, although it is on the pricier end. The food is gorgeous, the ambience is wonderful, the service is strong. Best to come here in the summer so you can enjoy the patio. I wouldn't consider this a budget-frinedly outing but if you're willing to splurge on an amazing meal, come to Cindy's. They book up fast, especially in the summer, so make sure to reserve your spot as soon as you know you want to go. read more
Heard great things about this spot, so managed to snag a lunchtime reservation here on a weekday. The interior is a dream. It's at rooftop level, so there was loads of natural light that left the space feeling so open. I loved that I was able to order a n/a drink but add alcohol anyway haha. 10/10 option For food, I got the scallops, the truffle fries, and the smoked fish dip. The scallops were okay, a little too salty and had a bitter flavor to them. Truffle fries came in a xl portion, but these were so yummy and I loved the black garlic aioli that came with it. The fish dip was also super delicious and I loved that we could get free bread refills. View is ofc spectacular, service was super kind and attentive, and overall, this was a pretty good experience! read more
This was the moment we've all been waiting for! Haha. This is where I chose to take my husband for our intimate meal on his birthday. We have been traveling w a party of 6, and I just wanted time away, just us two. This establishment was perfect! Once I found the correct elevator to take upstairs, I was super impressed by the gorgeous décor, and the impressive service received by the hostess. We were immediately seated. Great views all around whether you're facing outdoors to the Michigan River or the picturesque bar, you're lucky! You can see the skyline of Chicago, The Bean, and Michigan Avenue from the outdoor area. Our table person Andy was pleasantly amazing! He provided great recommendations. Very knowledgeable about the menu, etc. Collectively, we ordered the following. Classic Breakfast - Delish! Well plated, great flavor. Breakfast Potatoes - Well seasoned, and cooked! So good!! Nueske's Bacon - Plentiful, great taste. Chicken Sausage - Very very good! Perfectly prepared. Island Time - VERY smooth, and tasty. Chi Shandy Shake - Very good. Kinda strong, but not overpowering. Got here just before sundown and the views from their outside patio (complete with fire pits ) were spectacular. The menu was smaller due to it being before 5, but the smash burger was delicious and they had a nice IPA to go with it. It was just enough to share. The juiciest and most flavorful chicken I have ever had !!! I usually start by describing the occasion, but I was blown away by the chicken. Worth the calories and the hype the Rocher. What a fantastic dessert, a deconstructed Ferrero Rocher. The balcony and view wonderful and Edgar took care of us at the bar. Food and drinks memorable. Check out the photos. read more
We had reservations, but it was quite busy when we came. They made us wait by the bar and we got some drinks as we waited. We waited about 30 minutes and then they sat us close to another table. I guess it depends on where you sit but they were trying to pack in people and our seating situation was not optional. The food was okay but not mind blowing as I would always like it to be. Do I need reservations just to have drinks at the terrace, not for dining?

Lunch or Dinner for best views (sunset) and menu?
Cindy's faces east so no sunset...it is a pretty view all day long. Patio may be more pleasant in the evening on a warm day...
Do they accept walking?
They do! But come early - even if you get there before they open and go up the first elevator, you might have to wait at the bar. I've walked in twice during opening and been seated within 15 minutes.
Good place for dinner conversation? Or, super loud and you need to yell to be heard?
It is loud in the dining room, you can talk to the person next to you but have to talk loud or yell to heard on the other side of the table.
Are kids allowed?
I'd imagine so, but after 8:30 PM / 9 PM it might not be a "fit"...
What is the Attire. Can you come casual?
Yep, you can absolutely come casual. Not a formal place.
Are you able to sit outside? Trying to make a reservation but it says indoors only? Weird

Could I show up for just a drink or two on the patio without reservations? Hoping to go Friday afternoon to show my out of town sister the space.
I went about a week and a half ago and though it says you can't online, while I was there, they were allowing people to just show up and get a drink if there was space available.
Is the outdoor patio open?
Yes for viewing purposes only. You get like 15 min to look at the views.
Kid menu? Wondering if they have anything off menu for kids
Can't really say. I had the pleasure of dining only with other adults so didn't have to look for a grilled cheese or chicken nuggets. Although there were a surprising number of families with small children in attendance
What time is happy hour?
There isn't a happy hour, per se, but they do have a 'limited menu' from like 2:00-4:00 (or maybe 2:30-4:00) and it is just a couple of items/shareables. Even without a sunset view, it is well worth an afternoon visit, the lake view is amazing!
Yelpers! What would you recommend for solo diners?
There's a bar / countertop where a lot of people sit and hang out. Looked like a ton of fun. I almost got up from my table to go sit at the bar.
You have to pay $65 to get in?
Honestly though you can easily spend $65 when you leave there.
Do you have to have a reservation for brunch?
Yes, unless the popularity has fallen way off. I made a reservation three months out last summer.
Do I need reservations OR a table to hang out on their patio? I'm wondering if I can just grab a drink and take in the view and then leave :-)
You can just go hang out, no need for reservation!.
