Tom's Place Pancake House is a solid local business with good pancakes. The pancakes are pretty tasty, and the staff were very nice and accommodating. The menu is a normal breakfast menu with the focal point being pancakes. I settled on getting a traditional stack which was pretty huge. The taste of the pancakes reminded me of a funnel cake. My brunch companion got the seasonal flavor pancake which was the orange marmalade. This stack was little excessive with the amount of whip cream and orange marmalade on the top, so I don't recommend that. I enjoyed brunch overall, but I would probably advise to stick with the traditional stack if you like more of a traditional breakfast. My preference is to keep it simple when it comes to breakfast.

Delicious, fluffy, and crispy on the edges, soft on the inside type of pancakes. They taste homemade! Plenty of seating and friendly servers.

Tom's Place is a hidden gem that offers you great breakfast choices and superb service for a reasonable budget. I have been coming here for months and every time I try something new and always a smile when I leave. There are a handful of tables inside and out. the food comes out very fast and always fresh. I ordered the orange walnut pancake ($13) The batter for the pancakes has walnuts and orange juice mixed in with orange juice syrup. the dish was something new and it was very filling. Highly recommend.

Tom's Place feels like I'm at home. This restaurant is so affordable, they offer a great variety of breakfast and lunch options and have a great outdoor seating area. Tom always comes out and chats with us, he mentioned they will be renovating and expanding the patio space soon!

This place has perfect pancakes. Fluffy, soft, and slightly crispy on the edges. I got seasonal blueberry. Delicious. Great service. Casual vibe, community supporting, lovely outdoor garden with tables. Don't skip the sausage links, homemade, juicy, and flavorful. The place isn't fancy but it's homey and you can tell everything is done with care. Bilingual staff.

Finally tried lunch! Loved the cheddar broccoli and grilled cheese. Everything was perfect! We have not had a single bad meal here!

Love this place got to try the lunch today. Cheddar broccoli was off the chain, grilled cheese or cheddar and Swiss was cooked to perfection. We have not had a single bad meal here.

This charming neighborhood restaurant hits all the marks! A warm, comfortable dining room, friendly service and delicious homemade food. Everything is authentic. You can tell that the owners, Bruce and Angie, take their customers' satisfaction very seriously. We come every time we visit Chicago! Today we enjoyed the breakfast burrito with fresh roasted tomatillo sauce and the pancakes with pulled pork and whiskey maple syrup. Perfect!

Great food at a great price. It's hard today to find an affordable restaurant. This is one.

It's super nice back here! It started drizzling and the staff was quick to put up umbrellas. They have a really great team who was very kind to the two year old's we had at our table. The iced vanilla latte I had was really good! The actual food was hit or miss at our table, but I enjoyed my veggie skillet and eggs. Afterwards we wandered around the space and checked out some of the art. It's a really cool spot, and would be awesome for an event or company party!

Recommendations: Breakfast Meal…read moreBBQ Pork Bun Pineapple Milk Custard Bun We went to st. Anna for breakfast on Labour Day morning. We ordered the breakfast meal sets, which came with two mini pineapple buns and spam macaroni. We also ordered a breakfast plate with scrambled eggs and fried spam. The breakfast meals come with hot drinks and are only around $9, which is a great value. There are only 5 tables for dine in, first come first serve! The bakery also offers a variety of freshly made pastries and buns. Our favorites were the BBQ pork bun and the pineapple milk custard bun. Both were flavorful and fresh. It is a great spot for an affordable breakfast and some fresh bakery items.

Our family and extended family often ordered birthday cakes from them, and their mango cake was our favorite. When mangoes were in season, they used plenty of fresh mango in the cakes. Their cakes are always fresh, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My daughter and I also love their individual cakes, especially the Black Pearl and Walnut Cake. Their pineapple buns and egg tarts are her favorites as well. Saint Anna has also been part of our daughter's childhood. When she was little, my husband used to bring her here before or after Chinese school in Chinatown on Sundays. Her go-to breakfast items were the Butter Bun, Ham and Macaroni in Soup, and Diced Ham and Corn in Cream Rice. As she got older, Curry Chicken with Potato became her favorite. She especially loved the potato cubes soaked in the delicious, mild curry sauce. She would always ask for more potatoes and less chicken, haha! Saint Anna is a family-run business, and Sara and Irene, the daughters-in-law, used to take care of the front of house. They were always so friendly and accommodating. After a 6-year hiatus, we finally returned one Friday recently when we happened to be in the area with a friend. Sara is now a co-owner, and it was wonderful to see her again. She immediately recognized us and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked me to relay her greetings to my sisters when she greeted us and again when we were leaving. Those little gestures made our return feel especially meaningful. We were still full from a big dim sum lunch, so my daughter picked up 2 Mini Pineapple Buns and 2 Paper-Wrapped Sponge Cakes, while I got a Red Bean Roll. Everything was fresh, soft, and delicious, and the total came to just under $8, really a great value. Our friend also purchased 2 Fried Sticky Rice Dumplings with Chicken. I had never really paid attention to their limited dim sum selection before, so that was a nice discovery. We love Saint Anna and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.
