Stop by today because I forgot my water bottle. The customer service was great. She offered me water. I looked around in. Everybody's plate was super clean so that tells me that this place has good food even though I didn't eat definitely a spot you would try customer service is superb.

Bacon egg and cheese sandwich - A breakfast plate includes a sandwich with bread, possibly containing eggs and bacon, alongside a serving of hash browns with shredded potatoes. A glass of orange juice with a straw is placed nearby. The meal is served on a white oval plate on a textured restaurant table, with a salt shaker, ketchup, and a receipt visible in the background.

Great service. Great food. Really nice old school vibe. The owner is very kind and welcoming. My new favorite neighborhood diner

Grits with cheese. $0.60 extra for cheese

Good breakfast spot, when looking for it you might end up passing it so take your time when you get close. The parking lot is very small. The service was on point and the food was tasty. I went in the morning so the food was hot and fresh. I would definitely be going back.

My food was super fresh and the chef was sooo sweet. Would definitely be back. I got a steak sandwich with no cheese and French fries.

From the street it looks like any drive-by 24 hour greasy spoon diner. The parking lot is smaller fitting about 10 cars and like any all-night grill is littered with remnants of busted taillights. But at least they have a parking lot and it's adds character. Now the neighborhood used to be kind of tough but is on the upswing and the customer base is diverse. I showed up at lunch time when they were busy and considering it's about 10 or 12 stools snd a counter to eat at so I was lucky a few people were leaving so I grabbed a seat. Now like I said from the street it doesn't look like much but when you walk inside that's when the magic happens. Inside it is super clean and it's all obvious the folks here put a lot of elbow grease into it. The few street diners that are still around have really upgraded and Don's is no different. Behind the counter were two servers snd two grill cooks and everybody was hustling. One of my favorite things is to watch the cooks work their magic in front of the grill. Working a diner grill as a short order is an art and these guys were masters. They moved with ease and had a rhythm together. The servers were super friendly and moved in time just like the cooks. They knew their business and knew how to get by each other in a small confined area never missing a beat or taking a wrong order. These are the folks that make up this kind of place. They are the life's blood of the old school counter diner. The menus are usually pretty limited so having already had a greasy catering breakfast on the studio lot I opted for a cheeseburger. I wish I had done breakfast here as the way these guys worked the grill and the breakfast they put out was fantastic. The cheeseburger or rather got he cheeseburger if I am to be honest was pretty dam good. It wasn't greasy and burnt and had very fresh crisp lettuce on top with tomato and done grilled onions wedged between a poppy seed burger bun. The fries were standard but not dripping with grease like other places. They too were crisp and cooked well. Even the condiments were top brand name and not off brands on the cheap. The napkins were solid and large that stayed together when you use them. You can always tell a place by the quality of napkin and Don's is quality. I be returning to Don's late night fir breakfast as I love diner characters and this place is film noir all the way, guys straight out if a Damon Runyon story. Try Don's grill out for yourself. (For those who do read my reviews I greatly appreciate it. I will have a surprise fir all as I'll be taking my review show on the road driving and reviewing cross country very soon. Places no one would think of reviewing. Hope you keep reading and enjoying.)

Lying in my bed at the time craving breakfast, I decided on visiting 'Don's Grill' despite the many diners I could have visited within a shorter radius of my apartment. Don's has always captured my eye while driving enroute to Little Village neighborhood, intriguing me with its old-fashioned diner appearance. Furthermore, I walked in to Don's immediately looking for a seat which there were not many in its small dining area. I was fortunate to find a seat next to an older friendly gentleman out of the few open with some held by customers belongings which was slightly irritating. The dining area appeared just like its old-fashioned exterior which makes me personally think about my teenage years working at Steak 'n Shake. During my visit I could not help but to continuously think how small the kitchen area is, but the employees coincide perfectly together like one machine; serving its customers despite working all in the same area. It works out because they catch things other restaurants miss, such as that customer needing to order, a customer needing a fill-up on a beverage, or even that customer ready to check out. All you have to do is sit there an admire this tight-knit, well-lubricated machine and best believe someone will get right to you. As for my order, I ordered the 'Ham off the Bone & Eggs' despite taking an interest in the 'Ham Scrambler' which is pretty much the same thing even though with the scrambler you get 3 Eggs instead of 2, the ham is diced, and the price is 50 cents more. Customer service was so quick that I did not get the chance to read the book I brought or let alone make future plans. Hell, once I ordered I hopped on Yelp to add notes and before I knew it my food was in front of me which I cannot complain. And literally, I was asked three different times by three different employees if I wanted hot sauce which is how mindful this machine works. Attentive during my visit; taking visual notes of the heartwarming employee-to-customer interaction which had a friendly holiday spirit like vibe. It prompted me to interact with the employees in realization that I was in a genuine place, as well as realizing that Don's is truly a hidden gem! In closing, I'am quite positive that I will return because I enjoyed my meal, as well as the positive environment at this restaurant. With that being said, I most definitely recommend Don's Grill. ~Blessings~ Thomas G

I read another review on here that compared it to a Waffle House and that is absolutely correct. It's a gritty, low-key diner. No frills, basic menu, and so so good. For less than $25 we got, 2 coffees (free refills) and 2 full breakfast meals: (1) 1/2 lb chopped steak with 3 eggs and hashbrowns (2) 2 x 4, which included 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 bacon strips; and for $2 extra I substituted for french toast and added hash browns. Everything was delicious and the wait staff is incredibly sweet and attentive. I do caution, though, if you dine-in, it's very cramped. I didn't get a photo, but there's only counter seating. There aren't any tables and the restaurant is very small. It was busy when we went on a Saturday at noon. All seats were taken and everyone was elbow to elbow. They do have a parking lot, but it's also very small and there's only space for about 5 cars.

The bright aesethics of Mexican heritage and decor celebrating local artists make the space inspiring and energizing. The coffee was great. I got the horchata latte, which tasted even better than I hoped. I also ordered a El Chavo Torta, a deceptively simple sandwich that was incredibly delicious. The staff were really welcoming, for an early morning. I got the hot chocolate. Honestly that's exactly what I needed that morning. It had that real Mexican chocolate taste. Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn't wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.

Set in an old warehouse that is now an art gallery event space and restaurant nestled in an older warehouse district in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. Beautiful decor and laid out perfectly. The natural wood floors furniture ie tables chairs etc and iron work throughout sets the ambiance for old meets new. It works. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Accompanied by what I believe to be home made jelly and for sure homemade gardiniera. Caruso's gardiniera actually. Diced into a relish unlike most standard gardiniera it's easier to eat with many dishes. Excellent flavor and just the right kick to it. FYI Dolce Arte also sells a to go line of homemade Caruso products from their gardiniera to past and past sauces and more. Yes, their coffee is really good too. Lavazza products I believe. The service is always on point. Casual but on point. Very friendly staff from diverse backgrounds. Why would you not order a flight to try a variety of drinks all at once? We had the hibiscus lemonade and matcha flight, the mango con crema and banana con crema were the standouts. The staff--at least the person who helped me--didn't feel super welcoming. Not that they were rude, just not particularly warm either. I get it though, because even I get a little irritable when it's hot, so maybe that played a part. What I love the most is that it's Latina-owned, and that's something I truly admire. I always try to support Latino entrepreneurs when they're doing things right, and this place is definitely doing something creative. We ordered two flights--one with coffee and one with matcha. Each flight comes with four small samples, and they were all seasonal fall flavors, which I thought was such a fun and unique idea. It's cool because you get to try different drinks in little cups, almost like a tasting experience. The coffee flight (we got it iced) was amazing--the flavors were bold and had that strong coffee taste I personally love. The matcha flight was also fun, but I would have preferred a stronger matcha flavor in some of them. They also have plenty of milk options--we ordered ours with oat milk and it was delicious. On top of that, they have a pretty wide food menu with bagels, sandwiches, wraps, and more. We tried the tuna sandwich and it was really good, definitely worth recommending. The café has little chairs outside, the vibe inside is cozy, and I loved that they were playing Spanish music. That's something you don't usually find in most coffee shops here, and it gave the place extra personality. The only thing I'm still unsure about is the price. For two flights (coffee + matcha) and the sandwich, the total was around $55. Maybe that's a bit expensive--or maybe it's just the nature of ordering flights, since I had never tried that before. Either way, it was worth it for the experience and the flavors. In short, it's a cute, cozy, and creative spot that's definitely worth checking out--especially if you're into seasonal flavors, want to try something unique, and love supporting Latina-owned businesses in Chicago.
