Everything is delicious affordable, and the quality and quantity are immense. Plentiful tables amidst a welcoming, comfortable decor. Bathrooms are clean, fresh & well maintained-always a good sign. I truly give honest reviews, so allow me to share that this time only, the pork chops were a little overly done, but still delicious and juicy on the inside. My nephew recommended we come to Tony's, and I could not thank him enough as we sat there eating great food served by such a friendly staff. Every person we spoke to was Chicago friendly, which is perfect in my books. Orders came to the table quickly, correct, piping hot and delicious! My niece got the Mickey Mouse pancakes and sausage, a family classic, which were fluffy and delicious. HUGE pancakes and crispy sausage links! My sister got the breaded pork tenderloin and loved every bit! The broccoli soup was plain and needed a little excitement, but the pork itself was crispy and well cooked! HUGE portion! WOW! My nephew for the lumberjack platter which was a TON of food. A TON. WILD. Just HUGE serving! The French toast was special; it almost tastes like a cinnamon roll cake. Nice and crispy rounds and soft in the middle. A nice ham steak, bacon, sausage, eggs, and joy. He didn't finish the entire plate but enjoyed every single bite! I got the vegetarian skillet with bacon - I know, I know. It was a long night before this meal, and I needed salt and bacon but wanted all the veggies. What a TREAT! The hash browns were crispy and delicious, not greasy at all which I loved and appreciated, and TONS of veggies. I couldn't finish the entire skillet, but also I happily finished it about 2H later. I just love how I didn't feel heavy after the meal - too full or bogged down by grease. Every single bite was delicious, and I legit cannot wait to go back. The restaurant was busy but had plenty of seating. There were some ants under the table, but they quickly took care of them, and TBH, if I was an ant I'd be in that restaurant too finding food joy. No judgement. Restaurant was clean and service was great! I will happily come back any time, any day, to Tony's. Great people, great food, huge portions, and a great experience. Stop on by!

If you can…read moresit at the counter, it's the place to be--though I think there's only two or three tables away from the countertop, so you probably have a good chance. Anyway, when you sit at the counter, your food is delivered by a little train that runs from the kitchen and stops at your seat. It's clever, it's whimsical, it's amusing. It made me smile as much as or maybe even more than my toddler. (She may have been more excited about the pancakes.) If it's your birthday, they'll send you a birthday cupcake by train and the whole joint will sing you a happy birthday. The food was better than I expected, with a good selection of items. I was considering the 2x4 until I saw the turkey club, which is something I'd actually been craving for weeks and unable to find so I went with that. It hit the spot, and one of the servers brought me some chipotle mayo and said everyone likes it so she brings it to everyone. And she was right, so there's a tip for you to ask for a side of it for your fries or whatever. Once we were finished we went to play! The place has a bunch of ways to entertain your kids. There's a photo booth, some kiddie ride machines, machines with toys and trinkets, claw machines, and more. They all take cash, but if you don't have cash they have at least one and maybe two change machines for you to get quarters. There's a train display at the front of the restaurant for kids to look at too. It's a great place and I'm looking forward to returning. I look at the clock. It's 2:15 a.m…read more This is a dangerous time to be hungry. You're no longer choosing where to eat. You're finding out what society is willing to feed you. I'm still learning Chicago and its suburbs, so I spend about 15 minutes on Maps and kept consulting ChatGPT on where to eat. To my surprise nothing worthy was suggested. I reluctantly drive to my usual spot, which I won't name because they've done nothing wrong and don't deserve to be involved in this story. I walk in. Look at the menu. Get ready to order. Then something inside me says, "No." I walk back out. Now I'm sitting in my car at 2:30 in the morning like a divorced man outside a casino, staring at Google Maps one last time. Then I see it. Johnnie's Grill. 17 minutes away. I've never been there. Immediately, I start thinking about every Johnnie I've ever met. Do Johnnies know how to cook? Is Johnnie still alive? Is there even a Johnnie? Maybe Johnnie sold the place in 1987 and some guy named Steve has been benefiting from his reputation ever since. Most importantly: can Johnnie be trusted with my hunger? While entertaining these bullshit scenarios, I somehow arrive. As I'm getting out of the car, four young guys are walking out. Perfect. I need intelligence from the field. I ask, "What's good to get here, guys?" One of them looks at me and says: "Everything, bruh. Anything you get is gonna be fire." That's all I needed to hear. I walk inside and meet Julie, who is genuinely one of the warmest people you could hope to encounter at this ungodly hour. She patiently walks me through the menu while I study it like I'm choosing a mortgage. Eventually, I order the Big Boy. And goddamn it, the boys were right. The Big Boy was delicious. Nothing fancy. Nothing pretentious. Nobody back there is reducing a balsamic glaze or explaining where the cow went to college. It's just a damn good burger. Oddly enough, it reminded me of the burgers my parents make at home, which might sound like an insult to a restaurant, but I mean it as one of the highest compliments I can give. It tasted familiar. Like somebody actually made you food instead of assembling a product. At 2:15 in the morning, I thought Chicago had abandoned me. Johnnie had not. I don't know who Johnnie is. I don't know if Johnnie is alive. I don't even know if Johnnie has ever stepped foot inside Johnnie's Grill. But Johnnie, wherever you are: I'll be back.

United Grill is a solid spot with a versatile menu. While they offer a full breakfast menu, their cheeseburgers really stand out juicy, well seasoned, and cooked just right. The place gives you that old-school diner feel, which adds to the charm, and there are slot machines in the back for a little extra entertainment. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a good meal. Definitely worth stopping by. read more
