A good old school breakfast focused diner in the heart of the Forest Park downtown. Southern skillet with chrizo was very good. One sidenote, the hashbrowns are undercoojed, which works for the dish but might be disappointing for some.

What a cute little diner! Place is a cute lil diner on the corner and it radiates those family vibes. Waitress's are mainly older women so it feels like your aunt or mom is taking care of you. They're super friendly and I was served quickly at the bar. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, sausage, hash browns, and white toast. Everything was cooked to exactly what I wanted and was all delicious! Since I came near closing they were starting to clean up about halfway through my meal. It was nice to see how thorough they were being cleaning behind every nook and cranny and places most people would probably be lazy about. They're old school and you get your total on the order slip and you take it to the cashier. Make sure you have cash on you for tip or I believe you can ask them to add it on when they ring you up.

Food is delicious and service was excellent. I will definitely be visiting again real soon.

Nice local diner with fast service and tasty food. I tried their spinach feta omelette which was good although a bit too wet for me in some sections. They have a lot of great breakfast options and good coffee.

We went here for breakfast. The food was really good and cooked perfectly. They had so many options for breakfast and lunch. They have a variety turkey options for breakfast, bacon, sausage patties and links. The pancakes are really good with hot syrup. I had a veggie with avocado skillet with hash browns, it was hearty and delicious. My husband had scrambled eggs, hash browns, turkey sausage patties, and hash browns. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Small diner with great food, definitely worth the travel. It is a busy spot so there may be a wait for larger groups.

I adore small restaurants like Louie's. Very friendly staff, great service, and great breakfast food. I felt like I was at my aunt's house. Our waitress was chatty, kept cracking jokes and always made sure we were good and didn't need anything else. I wish I'd caught her name because she was bomb, but I did notice most staff were the same way with the other patrons. You could tell they all love what they do which was pretty awesome. I'm not in Forest Park often for breakfast but when I am again, this will be my go to.

I used to frequent this place a lot years ago. Was looking for a last minute place to have breakfast and thought of Louie's. The food was as good as I remembered. We ordered several breakfast items and a chicken philly to-go. We were not disappointed at all. This place is a diner and has the vibe of one. It is typically very busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I was very happy that we didn't have to wait too long today. The wait staff is pretty friendly and the service is fast. If you're ever in the area, stop by. We started eating before I could grab a few photos...

Non expensive and food was made within two minutes. We spent 30 minutes total. No complaints at all. Waiter was great.

Very tasty standard American diner. Had the Tuna melt, he had a skillet. Both enjoyed our meals.

Absolutely not, I wouldn't feed to a dog. The omelet was hard and the hash browns were undercooked. Waste of money.

They carry our favorite beer, Allagash, which was a nice bonus! The food was very good. Cheese curds to start, yum! I ordered a burger that was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and John had the chicken sandwich, which he also really enjoyed. Everything came out fresh and well prepared. The corner location was quiet when we visited, and while it is winter now, the outdoor seating looks like it would be fantastic in the warmer months. I also loved learning that Kettlestrings is the name of the founding family of Oak Park. A thoughtful, well done neighborhood spot that we will definitely be back to.

We had nearly planned to dine at Cooper's Hawk (CH), but instead chose this establishment after passing by it, as it appeared to be quite peaceful and inviting. My friend, her children, and I--forming a party of four--were all eager to try the fried cheese curds. They did not disappoint and provided sufficient portions for all of us. We placed our orders: the 12-year-old selected the house salad with chicken, which was generously-sized; the 10-year-old ordered chicken tenders with a side of fries, which was plenty for him. My friend opted for the bourbon-brined chicken sandwich with a side of fries and reported that it was delicious. I ordered the Oak Park burger, which was absolutely divine--juicy, flavorful, and satisfying enough to fill me without needing to consume all the fries. I am pleased we chose this restaurant over the overpriced and somewhat overrated Cooper's Hawk. I also enjoyed a couple of Old Cubans as part of the experience. The atmosphere was exceptionally relaxed; the background music and the TVs playing football allowed us to converse comfortably, creating a warm and cozy environment. If I did not live in what I consider the somewhat dull state of Texas, I would certainly return. I am hopeful to visit again soon, as I am already dreaming of that enjoyable experience. My gratitude goes to the chef, the young male server with glasses and curly hair (apologies for forgetting your name), and the female bartender that evening, for providing a warm, cozy, and memorable night along with a delicious dinner.

If you can…read moresit at the counter, it's the place to be--though I think there's only two or three tables away from the countertop, so you probably have a good chance. Anyway, when you sit at the counter, your food is delivered by a little train that runs from the kitchen and stops at your seat. It's clever, it's whimsical, it's amusing. It made me smile as much as or maybe even more than my toddler. (She may have been more excited about the pancakes.) If it's your birthday, they'll send you a birthday cupcake by train and the whole joint will sing you a happy birthday. The food was better than I expected, with a good selection of items. I was considering the 2x4 until I saw the turkey club, which is something I'd actually been craving for weeks and unable to find so I went with that. It hit the spot, and one of the servers brought me some chipotle mayo and said everyone likes it so she brings it to everyone. And she was right, so there's a tip for you to ask for a side of it for your fries or whatever. Once we were finished we went to play! The place has a bunch of ways to entertain your kids. There's a photo booth, some kiddie ride machines, machines with toys and trinkets, claw machines, and more. They all take cash, but if you don't have cash they have at least one and maybe two change machines for you to get quarters. There's a train display at the front of the restaurant for kids to look at too. It's a great place and I'm looking forward to returning. There's no dedicated parking, but there's street parking and a small city lot down the block.
