I used to really be impressed with this place. That stopped today. My husband ordered a panini that came with fries and a bowl of soup. I ordered a garden salad that turned out to be plate of iceberg lettuce with some veg and Kalamata olives tossed on top for the same price. Choice of dressing consisted of Italian or ranch. So, tasty corner is definitely a local favorite. The atmosphere is normal diner/cafe vibes. They are usually busy and upon walking in you get greeted from afar. When a seat opens you get sat. Now the service this day wasn't great , had to track down the waitress for coffee, wasn't checked on much. Now the food. bland and this is my second time trying them. Chorizo has its own flavor and it got drowned out somewhere in the mix of potatoes and eggs and jalapeños. I'm not sure how it was so bland. read more

Tastee is a must have local joint! Anytime someone asks me about breakfast in Berwyn, this is always my first thought. Honestly, if someone lives in Berwyn I bring up "have you ever tried Tastee?" This place is so good that this week my girlfriend wanted Tastee as her birthday breakfast... out of anything she could have picked for her birthday she picked this mom&pop corner shop. Not only the quality is beautiful but the price... to die for. Like honestly, sometimes I feel bad that they charge is inexpensive so I leave a nicer tip. The menu isn't super big so you shouldnt have too much trouble choosing something. My bf got a cup of coffee he says the coffee was superb and they had flavored creams. This place was great it felt just like home. I ordered a full order of pecan french toast with bacon. My bf got the Denver Omelette it came with hash browns and a choice of toast, pancakes or french toast. He got his with toast, they had 4 flavors of jelly/jam. The food was delicious! If you're ever in Berwyn and you want a bang for your buck and some good eating come here. Our food was under $20 and it was very tasty. The only downside was it took a while to get our food and they forgot to put an extra ingredient in my bf omelette. Overall, great experience. I will return and I do recommend. I seriously have never had a bad meal here. Never. Ever. This small neighborhood diner is not too far from home and right across the Metra tracks, by MacNeal hospital. I've had omelettes, skillets, pancakes, and my most recent obsession, the chicken pesto panini. It comes with fries, your choice of soup, and bread and crackers. best diner in Berwyn! my brother, who is a local mail carrier, first turned me on to the TC. i don't know another place in town with the combination of quality food, huge portions, thoughtful & mostly attentive service and family-affordable prices for breakfast, lunch & dinner. as of yet, we've only gone for breakfast, but the dinner specials always sound "tastee" (and uber-affordable). my favorite dish is the country fried steak & eggs with hash browns and pancakes, although i do wish they used crumbled sausage for the gravy (instead of sliced up links), but the double-yolk eggs (you, essentially get four eggs when you order two) more than make up for this purely aesthitic shortfall. plus, it's impossible to complain at $7.95! i'm always tempted to try the t-bone special, but i can't bring myself to order anything else... Met a friend from Berwyn here for lunch. The restaurant has a split personality. We got to the restaurant around noon and were seated right away. My friend knew everyone there since she is a regular. It was my first time eating here. We ordered right away and began catching up on family, the past, and the present. Watched other people get seated after us, some at a 4-top and others at 2-tops. And they got their food a lot faster than we did. The table next to us was also complaining about the pace of the food and the fact that their bacon on the sandwich was cold. They even stopped to check on us since we were seated at close to the same time as they were, and they were leaving. We still waited. After 50 minutes, asking a server to check on our order, and seeing all the other tables in after us get their food (including steak and eggs), I finally got up and went to the kitchen window. They were getting the order together. My son was served his eggs benedict (4 eggs poached), and we waited. Then I was served my corned beef hash skillet with toast. Finally my friend got her turkey sandwich. This is where the split personality comes in. The food was plentiful and tasty. Kiddo and I both had doggy bags. The server gave my kid an extra can of Dr. Pepper as a "sorry it took so long." They had a lot of to-go orders from MacNeal hospital, but that really shouldn't take precedence over the people in the restaurant. Would I go again? I came here with my son. It's a small restaurant on the corner. Parking was easy to find nearby. There weren't too many people, about 5 full tables. The first thing I felt as I went inside was the cold temperature. OMG I had to keep my winter coat, scarf, and hat on. Other customers kept their coats on as well. He ordered the steak skillet and I had the pecan French toast. We both had coffee. I just had to order it since I was freezing! The table had plenty of Hazelnut individual creamers and we both added them to our coffee. It was delicious! The coffee isn't strong at all and perfect to our liking. My son loved his meal. I tried a small portion of it and loved the seasoning they used. It was great! My pecan French toast was good but it wasn't amazing by any means. The French toast tasted a bit dry so I had to smother it with plenty of syrup. The gold old French toast just sucked the life out of that syrup. I'm telling you, it was dry AF. Not cardboard-dry. I'll give you that much! The staff is very friendly. Our waitress was pretty attentive to our needs. Another waitress stopped by our table a few times to refill our coffee. We were told that we couldn't use a credit card because their machine was broken. So, make sure to bring cash just in case! When walked in the waitress was nice at first , I ask for coffee with only French vanilla creamer , order an omelette and hash browns cook crispy, they have it toned burnt! The eggs they say were real eggs , it wasn't it was egg whites I know the difference since I've been a chef for 30 yrs and been trained by the best chef in the world Marco Pierre White who trained Gordon Ramsey ! This waitress was trying to think I'm some dude that don't know food ! Then I ask for Texas toast buttered, she gave me toast that was out of the toaster for awhile then you can tell they buttered it way later when the butter just sits on top of toast and doesn't melt on top of the toast very obvious again!! Then she comes out and shows me and opens the carton of eggs they used in front of some customers sitting down next to me as they were looking at her wondering why she did that! It still wasn't THOSE eggs they used , again trying to fool a chef of what eggs they used ! Kind a like telling a chef that the food is fresh when it's been frozen and constantly sitting here arguing with you telling you that it's fresh when you know it's frozen until they agree with you that it was frozen and came out of the freezer!! Same situation here! Then after not eating what I ordered she didn't even ask me if I wanted something else to eat , then after this she basically ignored me by walking past me 34 times serving only 3 tables that I will show in the picture I took when I was here After 34 minutes another waitress ask me if I wanted a refill of coffee and I said please she filled my cup and walked away after I said could I have more creamer which you can clearly see the opened creamer I had from before when I first got here , after siting for another 23 minutes with now cold coffee the first waitress (med weight woman) ask me if I want a refill of coffee and I told her that I'm still waiting for creamer from the last refill 23 minutes ago , she comes back with 4 creamers , but NOW my coffee is colder than cold! Why have the creamer now ??? It's like this place is getting worse and worse and the funny thing is they were so much better before the pandemic and with more tables that were 96% full! How is this ??? I told these guys sitting next to me if they see me sitting there and they said yes , I said it's funny that you do but no one else does around here, now I know how Patrick Swayze feels when he was ignored in the movie ghost, if only I had a cat around me to get there attention somehow !!
