Hi From Miami! We came to visit and staying at an Air bnb in Berwyn. We were looking for a breakfast mom and pops type of deal near by and we walked into this one. Wasn't a regret from the second we walked in. The hostess was really nice, always making sure we had coffee. Then bam! We had an awesome waitress Isabel, she was so welcoming and friendly. Mind you its just the two of them and they seemed stress free. The food was amazing. Large portions and it did not break our pockets at all! I had breakfast here this morning. T-Bone steak with 2 eggs and hash browns. One of today's specials. Everything came as ordered, free refills on coffee. The only beef was we had to wait for a table, maybe 20 minutes. Oh yeah the steak! Nice size t-bone maybe 1/2" to 3/4" thick, medium as ordered toasted on the outside, slightly pink on the inside. 4 medium size eggs up, a little sloppy, just the way I like em. So. There were no vegan options on the menu for me but i was able to still enjoy breakfast with my mom. The waitress Star is super nice and accommodating. Yep, the food's good. Yep, the service's fast. Yep, the prices are low. Yep, the coffee's smooth. Yep, I'll be coming back. Service is a little rough around the edges. Food is just okay... greasy spoon. Wasn't impressed with the French toast and my husband ordered a ton of food, none of which was very good. The ambiance was most noteworthy. A drunk person was leaning into a table next to us talking to them for most of our meal then spilled something. Two other tables stopped us to chat. Seems like lots of regulars. Certainly a friendly vibe, albeit odd at times. Now if this place was on the corner of my street I'd frequent it, but I will not be going out of my way to return. Wow - fantastic pancakes! After a miscommunication with a friend I apparently went to the wrong place but instead of getting up and leaving I said "what the heck" and decided to have my breakfast there and meet them afterwards - glad I did! Very nice breakfast place. First time here and everything tasted so good and fresh! I got the strawberry French toast and my daughter loved it. The place is pretty small and cramped but we came in at the perfect time where we got a table right away. The portions are generous! The food was piping hot and really hit the spot for breakfast! The wait staff was very friendly and patient with our 3 little ones. You really get a bang for your buck at this place. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Berwyn for breakfast (they have lunch and dinner as well). My husband and I came here once when we were dating and loved the coffee, great service, and amazing food. We lived in Texas for a year and when we returned to Illinois we revisited and it's still the same amazing place, just busier. The same waitresses are here, seriously the best ladies around! Same amazing coffee, I'm a HUGE Dunkin' gal and even this is something I will swap my DD coffee for if it were on my way to work. My hubby loves the skirt steak and pork chops, while I eat eggs, bacon, and toast. You can tell this is a very family oriented business because the cook became ill and the restaurant closed until he was healthy again. Those were a tough few months for my husband and I without our usual Sunday spot, but we loved how much they cared for their family. I HIGHLY recommend this place and I guarantee you'll love it!
