We got there and were not acknowledged for at least 10 mins and then told when the next table leaves we will be seated. Waited another 15 mins and we left. We went for breakfast this morning. It was crowded - always a good sign. However, we waited 30 minutes for our food. 30 minutes for eggs!! Hash browns were more liked mashed potatoes and the biscuits and gravy were beyond bad. The waitress never checked on us. I hardly ate any of my meal and she didn't inquire if there was an issue. Tastee Corner Cafe is definitely one of the true "gems" to be found in Berwyn. Formerly known as "Two Son's Cafe," it has been purchased by their excellent chef, Rosando, and has immediately stepped up quite a few notches so far as the menu is concerned. I am there at least once a month for Steak & Eggs, which is the tastiest, and most generous potions I have ever had...but I try to visit more often to check out some of the new, more adventurous menu entrees, such as their California-style Burger...a huge patty served with fresh guacamole on top, or some of their fresh Pork or Fish Specials. I can't wait to try everything on their menu...their Chef is That Good, just as I can't wait to amend this review when I have a better, working knowledge of their whole menu!!! From what I can tell, Tastee Corner Cafe has very little room for improvement...they simply need more people to know about just how wonderful they really are, and are sincerely worth going out of the way to experience their wonderful Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner entrees! read more

Fast, very friendly service, great food, great coffee, you may have to wait for a table, especially on Sunday, but it is so worth it. Mexican skillet is topped with 4 eggs and comes pancakes, toast or French toast. The jalapeños have just the right heat to add flavor without burning your taste buds. All that for less than $ 8.00. We love this place. The service is great and all the girls are super friendly. We live a few blocks away and this is our go to place for breakfast. You can get pancakes instead of toast as your side to your eggs for no extra charge. Who doesn't love that? Today we tried it out for early dinner/take out and boy was it good. I highly recommend the spinach salad, it was super delicious and filling. All the food here is very fresh with great flavor. Try the soups as well, we've haven't had a bad one yet. Sunday mornings at Tastee are my beautiful finishes for the weekend and im so glad im able to bring friends who visit Berwyn when they can feel jealous of our diner when theirs cant compare. This is my family and my favorite place for breakfast around!! The quality of the food is apparent with large portions and the price is ridiculously affordable. I'd be willing to get less food for the price and still be highly satisfied. The service is excellent and I believe family owned (or at least there are a couple of waitresses who are sisters). One of my favorite things is that you can choose pancakes, toast or French toast! Always French toast for me! I haven't even tried their lunches but it looks yummy; we kept seeing soups and burgers being served around us since we had a late breakfast. It takes awhile to get your food but it's worth it knowing it's made fresh and tastes so good! Absolutely worth checking out!!! read more

Needed to search out something close to MacNeal and was slightly hesitant by prior reviews of taking forever or slow service but honestly folks it simply doesn't get any better with the overall family owned atmosphere, charm of the waitresses, warm intimacy of year's past reflected, open sightline to see the kitchen hard at work crafting your meal and lets not overlook the tasty large portions. My partner and I went there this morning at an attempt to try something new. There was a wait but not too bad, we were next. The servers spent the entire 15 minutes we were standing there just staring at us. We were never greeted and they never acknowledged we were waiting for a table. A rude woman with her kid muscled her way in though, asked me if the tables were open and then when I told her there was a wait and we were next she sat down at a dirty table. That's not the restaurant's fault of course but the wait staff said nothing. Didn't flinch, didn't attend to us... just nothing.. blank stares and moving so excruciatingly slow. We decided to leave after that. I know small businesses start rough or need work but at least have a good wait staff with experience. We won't be coming here again. read more

FANTASTIC PLACE! Can't beat the taste and huge portions. A new menu is coming. The eggs and skirt steak is unbelieveable. The portion is enormous. The soups are delicious. It's open early enough that commuters could stop for a breakfast sandwich that will taste sooooooo much better than any of those fast food chains. Had family in from out of town and they couldn't believe the portions and taste. They are fans too! It is a family owned business and everyone pitches in. The uncle is the cook and makes all the soups, an aunt makes homemade salsas and one of the nieces is a server. It's a great place to stop and have a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. read more

I was impressed. We had driven by Tastee Corner quite a few times and happened to finally remember it when we were searching for a breakfast place the morning of Memorial Day. Great breakfast. I had an egg white omelette, which was really good, but I decided to get the pancakes on the side, even though I was trying to eat light. The pancakes were great! I was happy I got them, even if I did overeat, it was worth it. My husband got the pork chop that was on special and loved it. Thick, and with the bone. Great service. The staff there are friendly and really nice. We heard about the Isabell's special, a panini with chorizo and other good stuff, so we'll try that next time. We'll definitely go back. read more

Ridiculous wait times -- both to get a table and for service and for food to arrive -- make it impossible to recommend this place. The food was good -- but something you could find elsewhere, without having to watch dirty, empty plates sit on tables for 20 minutes, while you stand in line. Once we were seated, it also took a while to order -- and my daughter's pancakes arrived after the rest of us were almost finished. I was extremely disappointed in the service. It was not overly busy for the time of day, 11:15 on a thurday morning(about 3/4 full of patrons). Ordered a skillet and my son ordered a hungryman breakfast. Was told that it would take 15 to 20 minutes and since we were already seated decided to wait. While waiting I had coffee and my son a coke. In the mean time a pair of ladies sat behind me, ordered their food, not only did they get their food and eat it, received food to go, paid their bill and left. During this time I was only offered one warm-up and one refill of coffee. Our food finally came after 1/2 hour. At this point I was upset and told the waitress we no longer wanted to eat there. I offered to pay for our drinks. The waitress said that they were extremely busy, no apology. Will NEVER go back there. read more

I went to this diner on early Thursday morning. Its a convenient location to the Metra. The only issue is a long wait for service, which rushed me to eat my breakfast. Food was good and the portions were huge. My husband and I each had a skillet breakfast. He got his with pancakes and I got mine with French toast there was enough food that we didn't order for our son, he had my French toast, a pancake, and eggs from our meals. Each skillet is made with 4 eggs! We still had some to pack in a to go box. Lots of food for the price. Just don't expect much in the way of ambiance... Unless your looking for a small scruffy diner then this is your spot! Nothing cute or fancy here. read more
