I literally found this coffee shop in my area about a year ago and had no idea they also have a location in Las Vegas. I have really enjoyed almost everything I have tried here. I was originally drawn in by the ube latte and horchata latte, and they did not disappoint. The food is also delicious and always tastes fresh. The shop blends right into the community but still stands out when it comes to flavor. Easily a top 5 coffee shop for me. The inside is simple and cute, nothing overdone, just a nice place to enjoy your drink. My only downside is the staff. I have had a couple of really friendly experiences, but most of the time they seem pretty dry and not very inviting. Overall, still a great spot and one I keep coming back to. read more

Love, love, love Bad Owl in Vegas so I was excited to try their Illinois location on my last visit. Many of the staples I'm used to are at this location and I opted for the banana cold brew. Stopped by Bad Owl Coffee in Bridgeport the other morning and that's exactly what I needed to start my day. Chill little spot, super quiet, relaxed vibe, and it smells amazing the second I walk in. I kept it simple and got a hot chocolate and a croissant, both totally hit the spot. The hot chocolate was smooth, the right amount of sweet. They added whipped cream on top, and it slowly melted in.. But the real star was the croissant. Golden, flaky, actually buttery. I tore pieces off and dipped them into the hot chocolate, and wow.... Perfect size too, not too big, not tiny, just enough to feel like a treat. Service was fast and friendly, the barista had that calm, early-morning energy that made it even better. Not personally my favorite coffee shop in Bridgeport. While they have excellent roasted beans and bright coffee flavors, I've found their seating to be lacking, the air to be a bit cold in the summer, and my eggs were quite pricey and burned when I ordered them. Burned eggs are just not my favorite, I prefer the scramble with a baby bit of run in it, but to someone else they might be just right. This shop definitely has a lot of loyal fans, so you should give it a try for yourself. But I would stick to the coffee and not as much on the food. read more

I have been here and back a number of times. The gist of it is this place is a fantastic coffee shop. In house roasting makes for the freshest coffee that you could possibly get and that really shines through. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 9/10 Really hip spot inside with somewhat limited seating, probably 10-15 people at most. I love that half of the coffee shop is literally taken up by the monstrosity of the in house coffee roaster. That's the star of the show here. They roast their beans in house and it shows. Helps with the aroma too! SERVICE: 9/10 Always helpful and super friendly staff here. FOOD: 9/10 Overall, probably my favorite local coffee shop in the city. They start with good coffee overall, in house roasting and have a unique flair on top of it, making it a great experience overall. Second Breakfast - 8/10 - This is kind of the 'trendy' type of latte with the works, oat milk, cinnamon, etc. This is not my normal cup of tea (or coffee haha!) but they make a good sweet treat latte to have once in a while. Wow, wow, wow!! What a place. Line before we got there and after, and deservedly so! I'm an LA native so my bar for coffee is pretty high, but this place satisfied my coffee cravings while visiting Chicago. I wish I could somehow have tried everything this place offered it was THAT good. I'm not someone who usually leaves reviews, especially negative ones, but after several experiences here I felt it was worth mentioning. I live two blocks away and was really hoping this would become my partner and my new neighborhood spot. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. To be fair, the coffee itself is actually good. The issue has consistently been the attitude from the staff. After reading some of the other reviews, it seems like we're not the only ones who have experienced this. I'm a local business owner myself, which is part of why I hesitate to leave reviews like this, because I understand everyone can have an off day or be busy. But my partner and I have visited multiple times, during busy and slow periods, and every time the staff has come across as unnecessarily rude or dismissive. Simple things like acknowledging a "thank you" or responding when customers wish you a good day just don't happen. The last visit was unfortunately the final straw. After placing our order, we were standing near the common area waiting, and an employee abruptly told us we couldn't stand there, without offering any guidance on where we should wait instead. The interaction felt unnecessarily hostile. I truly hope management takes some time to address customer service with the staff, because the coffee is good and this place has the potential to be a great neighborhood spot. What an amazing coffee shop! Bad Owl gives local charm with truly amazing service and even more amazing coffee! The space is super airy, clean, and modern however, they have limited seating indoors so if you're looking to set up shop plan ahead! The baristas were patient, friendly, and skilled at their craft. They walked me through some menu highlights and also offered me some of their personal faves. I was so sold that I not only ordered a latte but I ALSO ordered a coffee flight, and a breakfast sandwich lol. Latte: Very creamy but still bold with flavor, a plus is they offer sugar free syrups! I added some sugar free vanilla for some additional flavor. Truly one of the best coffees I have had in a while. Cold Brew Flight- I highly recommend the flight. It allows you to sample various offered cold brews including Kyoto, Cold Brew, and Nitro Brew. With the flight you also get to choose from a house sweet cream OR the sea salt cream. I chose the sweet cream and I think you should to. Nice, thick, creamy and perfect sweet taste to balance the cold brew. For food I ordered the Bacon, Avocado, Egg sandwich and so so yummy, hearty, and filling. I cannot wait to get back to this local gem! read more

When visiting a new city, one of my favorite things to do is trying new cafes/coffee spots. Bad Owl Coffee Roasters did not disappoint. I ordered at hot roasted almond latte and my boyfriend got the oat-chata latte. We both shared the Bridgeport burrito with avocado and breakfast croissant with tots. The coffee was amazing! The roasted almond latte reminded me of my childhood and was pleasantly surprised by the little almonds in the latte. It was perfect and wished I got the bigger size. If you're a fan of almond, you should definitely try! The oat-chata latte was fantastic too. I'm not a big fan of oat milk, but it went great with all the other ingredients. It really did taste like horchata coffee! I wish Bad Owl was back home for me because I would be here all the time. Food wise, it was standard. A bit pricy for what you get, but no complaints when it comes to the taste of the food. You can tell this place is loved by many. A coworker of mine had brought me a coffee from here and it was so good that I had ti go back and get it again for myself. The coffee was just as good as the second time around. Oat-chata latte which was a delicious horchata inspired drink. It's sweet but not a sugar bomb either. I definitely wanna try some of their other drinks. They look really good. I would say the only negative about this place is the indoor seating is really limited and I think the interior design needs some work as it's very plain and doesn't have a lot of personality but at the core the service is good worth a trip over here. read more

I really liked this coffee shop. I stopped here on the recommendation of a good friend of mine who used to live down the street. This shop is super bright and sophisticated. My friend told me it was Harry Potter themed, and I guess it has a very light HP theme (there's a small giclée of Hermione, Harry, and Ron on the wall, as well as a drink called Butterbrew, and owls. But I'd say the theme is more owls than HP (and I approve of that too because I like owls!). Honestly I had too many choices, and I couldn't decide. So for two people I ended up with four drinks so we could try a variety: a pumpkin chai latte, stardust lemonade, and two butter brews, one with espresso. Because I don't know literally anything about coffee I didn't realize that when they said the Butterbrew didn't come with espresso that meant it was coffee-free (I thought it didn't come with espresso, but instead had another type of coffee). It's SO unusual to visit a coffee shop that makes a non-coffee drink that's not a chai latte, hot chocolate, or lemonade, so the fact that one of their specialty drinks is NOT a coffee drink propels this shop into my top coffee shops immediately. And the Butterbrew was delicious! I like that it's also a drink that kids could have. The pumpkin chai was also quite delicious as well. The stardust lemonade was the most striking visually, but it was not quite as good as I'd hoped since it didn't have much lemonade taste. It was just okay. I also ordered a couple sandwiches, which is where the slight disappointment came in. One was for someone who doesn't eat cheese and I ordered it without both cheese and mayo. The barista who rang it up repeated it to me and it was correct. However, it was not made correctly and had both mayo and cheese on it. I had a bite and it was good, but the person for whom I bought it wasn't able to eat it so that was $14 wasted; not insignificant. I didn't expect to have to check it at the restaurant so I didn't, and obviously i wasn't going to drive ~30 minutes each way to get it corrected. I've found I can carry a drink holder with multiple drinks (four this time), a shopping bag, and a carseat with a 12 pound infant inside but opening doors with all that cargo still proves to be a bit tricky since I can't walk through doors. It was very kind of the barista to offer to help me by opening the door. I'd love to visit this cafe again, when I'm in the area which is not terribly often (I wish it had been here when I worked in Bronzeville!). Parking wasn't easy for me at all but it may just be that I was here at a popular time and that's why the street parking was mostly taken. read more

Coffee is plentiful in Bridgeport. It's got a few to choose from. Bad Owl is bad ass. Great amount of freshly roasted coffee and a light food menu. The prices are okay for an independent coffee place. A kind of big place for as small as it seems to be honest. It's got a few seats inside. They do kind of squish together. Could have room for even more. We got a couple seats at a long table. It's about $5 for a coffee. Thats's pretty typical for such a place like this. Each of us had a Biscoff Latte. Try it especially if you like the cookies, because it's full of these. Cookies in coffee. This is made with the Biscoff cookie butter in addition to cookie crumbles sprinkled on top. For food we got the Vegan Overnight Oats. It's about $6 for a cup of oats mixed with good shit. Filling but light. This had almonds, bananas, chia seeds, coconut, peanut butter, pumpkin flax granola, soy milk, and vanilla. On the rest of the menu there's stuff like sandwiches but this are expensive. Too much for a little. For sure it's not bad. If anything is bad, it's the prices. This is a nice place for hanging out a bit except for there not being enough seats and tables. read more

Really cute and comfy coffee shop in Bridgeport! Stopped in to meet some colleagues this morning. I think we each ordered something different but we were all really happy! I got the iced biscoff late and the peanut butter and banana toast. The latte was delicious, however I could have used a bit more biscoff in the flavor. The toast tasted just like you think it would, but the presentation was lovely. I brought my 11/2 year and of and she loved it! There are two pretty steep steps up to the front door. Luckily I had my daughter's light umbrella stroller and our friends helped us up. But just wanted to mention that for anyone with a stroller or perhaps in a wheelchair. The staff is nice and our order came out pretty quickly. There is lots of parking around. Overall it's a great spot!! read more

Bright, clean and cheery coffee shop in Bridgeport. Couldn't be more opposite than its name! Came here to catch up with a friend over breakfast sandwiches and coffee. We luckily snagged a table just before the place filled up. A large portion of the coffeeshop was blocked off for their roasting equipment so indoor seating is limited. If it wasn't a crisp 31 degree winter day, I would've loved to enjoy the sun from their front sidewalk seating. Ordered a filling bacon, avocado, and egg sandwich with a Biscoff Oat Latte. The Biscoff flavor was subtle and overall not too sweet (ultimate asian auntie compliment). My sandwich, while tasty, was a challenge to maneuver since it was stacked high with fluffy egg and thick avocado slices. This place was a trendy open... I mean, a secret Harry Potter coffee shop in Bridgeport? Lots of visitors. After four months it's calmed down to neighborhood coffee spot, but Bad Owl has a few things going for it that still make it stand out and probably worth a trip from elsewhere in the city. The coffee really is roasted in the roasting machine right here in the middle of the shop, and this makes for some impressive drip coffee. Their single origin Laos coffee - "Lucky Leviathan" might be the most fragrant and balanced cup of hot drip coffee I've had in the entire last year in Chicago. (And there's a lot of competition.) Design vibe uses a bright yellow which is perfecto. And the breakfast sandwiches here are gorgeous. A step up from most shops. Secret T is that this place is somehow backed by the Zhou Brothers, the wordclass artist duo who has their all-black-painted art gallery down the street and has helped (along with Marz brothers) make Racine an artist's strip. There are a few other locations for this coffee concept in Las Vegas, and someone knew someone... Staff and manager are really friendly and competent.
