Cute cafe! Colorful, bright decor and lively environment. It's a small place but packs in a fair amount of people. We got lucky with a table by the window and it was really nice, and also had hooks on the wall to hang our coats. I had a Thai iced coffee. It was okay. My friend seemed to like her iced matcha latte. The service was really fast. They were very busy but had an efficient system and the line moved quickly and I didn't have to wait long for my order. Neighborhood gem and a Chicago legend. Love the spirit, color, vibes here. I got an iced carmella, which I had no idea what I was getting, but at the end of the day it's a coffee shop, so I figured it was coffee. I enjoyed it, but I can't really say what it was. That was really my only issue. They have a ton of specialty drinks, but I didn't see anywhere that elaborated on what they were. I checked the website and it didn't make anything any clearer, and there's always a line, so I don't want to hold it up to ask. They keep things moving pretty quickly. Nice little cafe that felt like a mom/pop shop. Felt like home. Prices weren't too crazy (comparatively) and the location is fabulous. We had 2 drinks and a Bean/Cheese Sandwich. Drinks were very mid, unfortunately haha and sandwich was great. The coffee was not awful and the vibes were good enough to definitely come back and also support. We came here on a Sunday at 10am, there was a line out the door. We waited about 15 minutes in line, and we were able to get a table inside for three of us. This is mostly a to go place. The staff were nice, patrons were kind, atmosphere was a vibe. And it smelled good. They have kid options, pizza, bagels, sandwiches, and a lot of specialty coffee options. I got the chicken salad sandwich on their multigrain bread, my kiddo got the a plain bagel with cream cheese. And my partner got the Molletes (comes with a side of salsa). I got a cold brew, tasted great, and my partner got a Cafe Con Leche. They are known for their focaccia pizza, Molletes, and specialty lattes. Highly recommend, the wait is worth it. read more

BB and I are all about Sunday Funday coffee dates. We usually like to explore and try new shops out but Cafe Jumping Bean is so good that we will make an exception and drive a little bit out of our way depending on the rest of our errands or outings to come back to this favorite. Get there earlier enough and you can add a delicious pastry. I haven't had a sandwich here yet but love watching the chefs create some delicious looking sandwiches filled with hearty toppings. Been here many times for coffee before but didn't have a chance to try some of the food items. We tried the focaccia pizza and the focaccia sandwich. They were both great and VERY filling. Disappointed and Unwelcome Experience I came to this café with my toddler son and my Tía to enjoy coffee and sandwiches. We were sitting at the high yellow table for about an hour and a half, just talking and enjoying our time. There were no signs anywhere stating there was a time limit for tables or that children weren't welcome. While we were sitting there, a worker rudely asked us to get up so he could sweep. Anyone who has a toddler knows they can make a bit of a mess some tissue paper and cracker pieces but nothing major or unreasonable. I told him not to worry, I would clean up before we left. He still insisted we move. About ten minutes later, the same worker came up to us again about wiping the table, which felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. As a loyal customer who has been coming here almost every morning before work, I was really disappointed. I'm Mexican and had made a point to support this Hispanic-owned café, even though I live on the other side of the city. If there's a policy about time limits or no children, please make it clear so families like mine don't feel embarrassed or unwelcome. I never expected to feel ashamed for simply bringing my toddler to have breakfast at a local café I've supported so often. This is a cute tiny cafe in Pilsen that's always busy for a very good reason. Their drinks are all very good, including the matcha! This was also my first time having a mollete, which is a Mexican open-faced sandwich with refried beans and white cheese, and this one was topped with vegan chorizo. It was absolutely delicious and freshly made. Also more filling than I expected, definitely recommend. The matcha latte was good - didn't taste overly sweet or artificial. The lox bagel was good too, although the Californian in me was wondering where the fresh microgreens (or any greens) were. Aside from that, they had cute little tables and seating letting you watch the outside while you eat. The bathroom was nicely designed and utilized the space well. There are a variety of different coffee drinks, baked goods, and some food to choose from. The interior is pretty small so you're likely to order and get moving to your destination. The lattes are on the sweeter side, but not overly so. The staff ask if you want sugar in some drinks like cafe con leche. I liked the sweetness of the matcha latte, but I know that's not for everyone. I wish there were more local coffee shops like Cafe Jumping Bean. I love eating in here when I get the chance. My favorite and only food I've gotten here is their lox bagel on a jalapeño cheddar bagel which was recommended by my dad. I'm really picky when it comes to my bagels with lox but it's seriously perfect every time, and they really pile the lox on there. Their coffee is also delicious and has a perfect strength which holds up to any syrups you put in it. I loved the hazelnut syrup I tried today more than my usual caramel.
