Yelp Review I love this local spot and have always enjoyed coming here. My only wish is that there was a better way to communicate with the bar staff. This is actually the second time I've needed to speak with someone and couldn't get a hold of anyone. This weekend, I accidentally left my charger behind, which was totally my fault. Of course, I tried calling, but by the time I went back, I was told that my charger had been given to my group. My group was only three people sitting at one table, and we all left together. However, the place was packed with people who were there for the Usher/Chris Brown tour, so I'm assuming they thought everyone was together. I love supporting this spot, but having a way to actually reach someone when you need assistance would make the experience even better.

Cute cafe!!!!!! Really lovely atmosphere and vibes. It's a quaint Italian style cafe. A few cute outdoor tables too. Outlets by every table inside. The bar is really beautiful and has cool lighting. Everyone who works here is really kind and welcoming. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious. The eggs are really fluffy and the sauce on top is tasty. The beverages are great too. I had an iced lavender sea salt latte and it was really refreshing. I also enjoyed the iced pistachio mocha latte. Subtle flavors and really smooth. I also had the Matcha Shakerato and it was amazing! I loved the amaretto in it and the flavors really pop. I loved the glasses that the drinks were served in as well. I love the concept here. It's a coffee shop/cafe/bakery by day and bar/lounge by night. I look forward to returning in the evening to experience more cocktails. (It's an amaro focused cocktail bar.) I look forward to trying more food and pastries too. They also have an aperitivo hour from 4-6pm that looks great too. I definitely plan on a being a regular. Fantastic experience!

Great spot, easily accessible from nearby shops and residential buildings. A good selection of crafted coffee and small bites. Plenty of seating at the bar, booths or tables. Such a cute café and very friendly staff.

Perfect cocktail bar serving South Loop! Happy hour vibes are on point and the service is amazing. Inventive cocktails, great ingredients, and welcoming staff. Interior is very warm and nice music selection while you enjoy your company! Pro Tip: Cafe during day hours

My first review as a new Chicago resident! This spot did not disappoint. The ambiance is very cozy and the server could not have been more kind. I came with my husband for a late drink and dinner and loved everything we had. Not pictured was the vanilla gelato. I am excited to come back and try the other pizzetta, cookie butter gelato, and of course more cocktails! Also took a peek at the daytime menu and excited to come back for that as well. I am happy this place is close to my home and can see it becoming one of my regular spots!

Forgive me! Delicious puffin was so tempting. I ate most of it before remembering to take a picture. My taste buds were generously engrossed in the tasty light buttery crispness, accompanied by a fresh hot latte, beautifully prepared. Staff is professional, friendly, helpful, and prompt. Simple dessert and coffee in a beautiful quaint atmospheric café starts the day off so right!

It's nice to have another coffee shop in south loop and this place is very cute! Cozy vibes and the service is nice and fast enough. My friends and I each tried their specialty drinks and i got an everything croissant. We had high expectations because everything looked so good on the menu. Unfortunately none of us particularly enjoyed anything we got. All of our drinks just tasted like milk (both iced and hot options) and my croissant was oddly sweet because of the filling and I didn't love that. The pastries are actually being shipped in from elsewhere (they have exactly the same one in coffee shops out in Naperville too lol). Which leaves nothing special here. It's also very small so it gets crowded and swamped pretty fast. You're really constantly stepping out of someone's way when you're just waiting for you order, so that's not ideal either. Likely won't return.

An unassuming store in South Loop, this shop has the cutest decor and a lovely latte! It's a little on the pricier side and there is a bit of a wait if you were to go on a Saturday morning. It's definitely a once in a while treat but loved this spot!

Espresso taste like a regular but good espresso. Really enjoyed the little cookie! Sugar cookie latte was delicious but very sweet! They made a small mistake in our order but they fixed it right away :) Very cozy small coffee shop with very limited seating especially on the weekend at 11am

This place is cute but has the absolute worst matcha latte EVER! It was lukewarm, overly milky and watery, grainy and the matcha quality was so bad that it tasted like seaweed! And to top it all off, it was almost $9. Absolutely ridiculous! This is the first ever drink where I've only taken two sips and thrown the whole drink away. Absolutely do not waste your time or money here. The aesthetic is nice but not worth it AT ALL

A friend tell me about this spot because I love a good coffee moment! My initial impression was very good. It is a very cute shop that feels both modern and cozy/traditional. I love the boots near the front windows and the window coverings give it such a classic feel. I ordered a pistachio latte and the half kale Caesar salad. When I sat down, I noticed that the table next to me was still dirty from the previous customers. The shop didn't seem very busy so I was a little thrown off about why that hadn't been cleaned up yet. After sitting down and putting on my headphones, my name was called to grab my latte so I had to go back up to the counter to get it but I noticed that the very next order was taken to the table for the customer. That threw me off a bit and made me wonder why there was a difference. When my salad was ready, it was brought to me. Some consistency would be nice. I also noticed when I got my latte that I was just giving the cup, no saucer underneath which felt strange but also the cup was messy. Coffee had dripped down the sides and the barista did not clean it up so the presentation suffered. The salad however was beautiful and very tasty. The anchovy on top was so flavorful! It was my favorite part and made me wish there were more in the salad. The price wasn't terrible; what tip I paid about $22 for the coffee and salad. I love the choice of music, relaxing and calm which makes a great environment for reading/working or just taking a moment. Overall, this is a place that I would give a second chance and hopefully some of the things that were not great will have improved.

I'm so glad there's another coffee shop in the neighborhood! This spot if small but so cute! They really make good use of the space small tables in the front, a couple high top booths and then single bar seating towards the back. Their menu isn't large but it has a good selection. And I am guessing they rotate their menu or change it up as the seasons change too. They do have a small food menu too. The display case is by the cashier. The service is pretty fast and the staff is nice. I ordered the pistachio latte and a cinnamon bun. Both tasted pretty good. Both the best I've had but was pleasant.

I enjoyed the coffee from here. There was a bit of a line and no seating when I went on a Saturday morning so arrive early if looking to sit down and enjoy your coffee or dine in! Pretty small place but very cute, would visit again.

I had been enjoying the city after a day of shopping and dinner at Joe's. A friend recommended this lovely bar/lounge. We are not from these parts of the U.S. and love to explore. This lounge is on the second floor of the Chicago Athletic Association building. Part of the Hyatt chain. I was warmly greeted by host and placed next to an old fireplace in front of the bar area. I was seated facing the entire lobby. I was enjoying the Gothic architecture. It was dark and a soothing atmosphere. I appreciated the appropriate music playing as well. It was a perfect way to end my day. I had a glass of champagne and my server recommended the Basque cheesecake. Which was perfect cause I recently visited San Sebastian, Spain. The Basque region makes a great cheesecake. The burned caramelized top complimented my champagne well. There is a room/bar in the back room of where I was. A great bar with games and TVs for sports. After enjoying my nightcap, I walked downstairs and was able to order a ride-share and wait in the warm entry of the building. This hotel is directly across the famous Bean which is in the beautiful Millennium Park. During the day, I highly recommend checking that park out.

The Drawing Room is in the lobby of the hotel. The first day at the hotel, my friend and I had a breakfast reservation (which we're thankful we did, as it was quite busy) and we sat at a table where the chairs were comfortable but it was too low to comfortably eat at the table. I felt like I was almost stretching and standing when eating. We requested a different type of table the next day when we can back for breakfast. We both ordered the Classic Breakfast consisting of two eggs, Nueske's bacon, breakfast sausage, breakfast potatoes, and sourdough toast. There were options available for gluten free toast and egg white though we didn't opt for that. I did ask for all bacon. The next day, I ordered a Breakfast Sandwich, regularly including chicken breakfast sausage, fluffy eggs, American cheese, house-made english muffin, and green salad (with gluten free toast option). I chose bacon instead of sausage and cheddar instead of American cheese. Both breakfasts were rather good. Unfortunately the dinner wasn't as delightful as a meal as the breakfasts. The chairs were fine and the place wasn't too busy (and we had a reservation) though when we sat down, it was as if we were forgotten as no one came to our table for quite some time. We then realized we weren't too excited about the menu, so we instead when to the nearby Game Room for a bite while watching a basketball game on TV. We were given welcome beverage certificates good for free bubbly at the Game Room though those were also honored at the Game Room. The Drawing Room lobby spaces are open 24 hours daily though guests can order breakfast daily from 7 AM to 11 AM, Monday through Thursday for lunch and dinner from 11 AM to 11 PM, Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 12 Midnight (though the kitchen closes at 11 PM), and Sunday from 11 AM to 9 PM. You can visit the Drawing Room website at https://www.drawingroomchicago.com, where you can find menus, private event information, reservations, social media links, and more. You can also sign up for restaurant updates at the bottom of the page. While I wouldn't discourage anyone to go to the Drawing Room, it wasn't among our favorite restaurants at the Chicago Athletic Association or nearby the hotel.

I'll begin by mentioning the drinks tasted great & the ambiance/overall esthetic and setup of this space is really wonderful. Unfortunately, my low review is because of the obvious distastefulness of some staff who are serving & bartending here. My guests visiting from out of state wanted a stiff drink in the afternoon & from the website photos + reviews, Vol 39 seemed like an awesome place that could accommodate our party with the large sofa seating. I even called ahead to ask about walk-ins of our size to be extra considerate. We received shocking dagger glares from a few staff members which made all eight of us immediately uncomfortable before even being sat. Like we were committing a major crime for thinking we could step foot in here. Empty stack of glasses slammed on the table with a water pitcher placed beside them; "I'll be right back." In a sharp tone. Ok. But not if we're paying $20 per person per cocktail. We were rushed and this attitude persisted, it is lazy.. especially given it was extremely slow.. super surprising for such an elevated establishment. Then, after a long while, we were all asked what we wanted to drink, like a fast casual burger joint. No, "any questions about our selections" or, "may I give some suggestions?" Never came by to check on us once despite the three other two tops inside. We wrapped it up fast since we definitely could choose another location with more attentiveness & basic kindness. We paid, a hefty gratuity in small print on the check which.. you guessed it.. was automatically included but no mention of this tidbit by the server. Maybe this is why we revived all this mean girl energy from the jump? Because they'll still get paid really well regardless? All eight of us have been a part of the service industry and this one stuck out extra frustrating & annoying. Never leave a low review, I'm writing today to management because they will ruin your repeat clientele, seriously. People can find another fabulous cocktail with way better service & vibes in the city. Overall, it was a shame my friends experienced this gross behavior today in the fabulous city of Chicago. Hope the staff does better in the future and works on improving their outlook.

Well, we heard that M Lounge had been resurrected from the closed and was serving customers again, so naturally, we fleet-footed right on over to see what all the hubbub was about. Okay, first off, whoever decorated this place deserves a gold medal. It looks amazing. The mix of old and new, the gold accents, and the lighting all come together perfectly. It has everything visually that you would want from a neighborhood bar you could eventually call your Cheers. The music was just right, and the vibe was definitely vibing. But wait. I only gave this place three stars. How Sway? Well... let me tell you. You don't just go to a bar for the vibe. You go to a bar for the drinks, and as much as I loved the atmosphere, the drinks left me wanting. And it wasn't just me. Everyone in our group was a little confused. How can a place look this good, feel this good, and then have drinks that are just... so-so? And I take my drinks seriously. So when I say so-so, I mean SO-SO. Hell, the Old Fashioned wasn't even an Old Fashioned. It was some sort of sweet abomination. Was it a bourbon drink? Absolutely. Was it an Old Fashioned? Absolutely not. For now, I'm going to chalk it up to growing pains because there's way too much I like about this place to write it off after one visit. The atmosphere is there. The music is there. The neighborhood-bar potential is definitely there. So yes, I'll be back. But M Lounge, I'm asking you nicely. Please make me a proper Old Fashioned next time. Otherwise, I might have to cancel my subscription to the Martini Lounge.

The problem was the service. I like a paced meal but 2 hr-55 min is absolutely ridiculous. The restaurant was not able to get food onto the table, either because of the quantity of quality of the staff, and the room certainly wasn't very crowded, perhaps 35 customers in sight. I think there were 4 cooks, 2 servers, 2-3 runners/busboys, and a hostess who hustled around doing a lot of odd jobs. Every item served was delicious. The plating was nice as well. The wines were not so successful. Of the four wines on the menu, two differed from the descriptions and the pairings ran from OK to Combative. I have lots of details about the food and wine, but that's not the issue. The poor service was inexcusable.
