Plenty of large windows to look out, and an outdoor terrace as well. Modern decor and nice variety of seating options throughout the space. Chic fire place and also taps of wine available. I'll definitely come back for happy hour! Lovely lattes. I really enjoyed the Cafe Miel, with honey and cinnamon. I also tried a new speciality drink called Paradiso, and it's iced and topped with Ube cold foam. Excellent food too. I thoroughly enjoyed my Roux Breakfast Bowl with bacon. It's a French inspired cafe and menu so there are lots of yummy crepes, baguette sandwiches, soups and salads too. I can't wait to try more things! Fantastic and friendly service. Thank you to Zack!! I don't recommend coming here as to use it as a workspace. Accessing their WiFi is only available for 90 minutes, and then you have to wait 2 hours to use it again. I totally get it. It's a very busy and popular place and they want to accommodate everyone. I just wanted to enjoy the ambiance and hang out anyway. This is a very cute coffee shop and a great place to sit with friends or catch up on work. The river views are unbeatable, and it wasn't too busy at all around 9 a.m. on a Tuesday, which was a plus. I ordered a matcha latte and a café miel to go. When I picked up the coffee, I immediately noticed how light it felt, and when I got home and opened it, it was definitely not a full cup. That was disappointing, especially given the price, though the coffee itself was very good. The matcha latte was solid but nothing standout, comparable to Starbucks. Even though I wasn't thrilled with the drinks this time, I'd still come back to give it another chance or simply to enjoy the ambiance and views. read more

What a surprise find and hidden gem! I wish we had more time there as it has an amazing view along the river and chill vibe. We came probably 40 minutes before they closed and I'm surprise to still find a lot of people there. They got coffee, beers, wines and food there. I'll definitely come back and enjoy more treats and the view. I imagine they would be super busy during the day. They have access to outdoor River walk space in case you want some fresh air. I really love this cafe. It's has beautiful views of the river, great food and stellar service. The space itself is quite cozy, but it's always crowded every time I've been here. It's really popular which really just highlights the need for more places to chill and hang out in the loop. More cute cafes please! I think the food is actually better than the coffee here. The coffee is good but nothing to write home about. I've gotten a few of the different sandwiches, the salad and soup and really liked all of them. I always upgrade to the tomato bisque with my sandwiches for $1.50 which is totally worth it. And the staff here are so sweet! Because it is so crowded they will help you find a place to sit and even rearrange furniture for you so your whole party can fit. River Roux replaces the previous inhabitant of the same space, the river level of 110 North Wacker, but seems to be plagued by the same issues... I popped down on a cold day, as it was a short walk on a COLD day, and placed my order quickly. That's when the wait began. After 15 mins I was approached, apologized to, and presented with the reason for the delay: delivery issues. They offered an alternate option or I could wait more and I decided to stick it out - have been wanting to try the place for a while! The manager approached me a short while later and apologized again, making things right. The sandwich and soup were very tasty! I devoured every last bite and was quite full when all was said and done. So kudos on the food quality and taste! In all, I'm going to give them another shot. To be honest, the mess up happens, I get it! But them owning up to it is a breath of fresh air in today's world. They get an "A" on food and an "A+" on service! read more

Very cute new place! Unfortunately the day I went there was a private event happening so a lot of the seats were taken but it is also a smaller space when the outdoor is closed for the summer. I got the hazelnut latte which was pretty good. It's located in the lower level of the Bank of America building and easy to find with the signs. I would come back! This is my second visit to this beautiful cafe located on Wacker drive. The first time I thought it would be confusing finding this cafe since its inside of a business building but surprising the signs are super clear and easy to find. First time I tried the soda espresso, it was an interesting try for me and I loved it for a hot summer. Thr sparkling soda was refreshing with a taste of espresso. This time I got a regular latte and it was alright. Nothing special to it. I also ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich- the croissant was old so when its warmed up it was a bit chewy. The bacon was burnt. And it had a hint of banana flavor, i assume they use the same utensils gor crepe and breakfast sandwich. The service was friendly and fast and they bring the order to you if youre dining in. The environment is great for studying. Work, catching up with friends or even just relax by yourself as they have a very spacious lounge. read more

This place is basically empty. 8 people inside, a few outside, and I'm handed a buzzer telling me I only get 90 minutes. I asked the lovely cashier if I could get another 90 minutes if I bought another coffee, but she said no. So instead, they want their workers just standing around (which they were)... doing nothing, and an empty restaurant. Wonderful coffee, great food items. Horrible management. The place was pretty crowded, and service was on the slow side, but it's actually a nice spot for remote work with plenty of light, calm atmosphere, and a beautiful view of the lake that makes it easy to stay for a while. I got their old-fashioned donut and a coffee. The donut was really large for the price, soft and fresh, but a bit too sweet for my taste. I really love this place, location, view, atmosphere, but in the past 3 weeks it has transformed into a library for students who come to work and take all seats! I could t find a seat to have lunch. don't get me wrong, I like students, but I would like for this place to look more like a cafe for professiovals than a library for students. read more
