    Strawberry matcha
    Hannah C.

Solid cafe with a unique atmosphere. It almost feels like a bar in there since the interior is so dark and moody. The service was unremarkable but speedy. I tried the strawberry matcha, which was delicious. It was definitely pricey, but I enjoyed how the strawberry flavor tasted like actual strawberry instead of artificial flavoring. They had some really unique pastries and sandwiches that sounded fantastic.

Blueberry latte with lavender cold foam
    Victoria T.

Dark and cozy, staff was friendly and helpful. I tried their new blueberry latte with lavender cold foam and it wasn't too overly sweet. I also had the Prosciutto Cornetto, which was good but too sweet with the glaze that I wasn't expecting as I was told it would be more savory.

Sea salt rosemary maple latte. Really delicious!

This place is so cute. The staff is friendly and efficient and the sea salt rosemary maple latte was fantastic. Their baked goods looked really beautiful and tasty, will have to come back and try some! If you're in the area in the morning or afternoon, this place feels like a hidden gem. I love the pretty seating area.

    Rosemary latte

I loved the ambiance of this cafe and it was more of a hidden gem. I ordered the rosemary latte and you can for sure taste the rosemary in it. This place seemed like an old 70's vibe and I loved it compared to the clean aesthetic of coffee shops you see nowadays.

When visiting Chicago last week I was looking for coffee spots within walking distance of Grant Park and I found fairgrounds. I'm so glad I chose to stop in! The indoor seating area is small with one larger table, a single seat & table, and some bar like seats. I was able to snag the single seat with a small round table to myself. It was so cute inside and while I wish there was more indoor seating there was a lots of space to sit outside which I also enjoyed after finishing my food. I got the tahini caramel latte, the staff was very kind in helping me decide on a drink, I made a substitution to have it made with almond milk and it was delicious! So rich in flavor and a great coffee taste without being too sweet. Also you have to get the breakfast burrito with an extra side of salsa. I've never had a breakfast burrito and salsa like the one I ate at Fairgrounds and I'm still dreaming of it! The burrito was piping hot, had so many different bright flavors and the salsa on the side was very bright and fresh. Absolute 10/10

During my most recent visit to Chicago I had to Egg Tuck to my list of places to check out. This…read morewas my second visit because my first time trying it I was impressed. This location was in close proximity to The London House Hotel. It was literally around the corner. If you would rather not eat at the hotel, I strongly suggest checking out this spot. When we walked in we saw the computer screens that are utilized to place orders. However, the staff did mention that if we had any questions about the menu we were free to ask. I ordered the turkey bacon & cheese sandwich and my friend opted for the original royal west. I had coffee to drink and my friend had the honey lemonade. After paying we secured a table at the rear of the restaurant. When our food was ready they simply call out the name you placed the order under and you must retrieve your own food. This is bet much a self serve restaurant! The egg sandwich was just as good as I recall it being the first time I tried it. The eggs are soft, flavorful and just melt in your mouth. Everything about this sandwich is positive! My friend did not realize his sandwich came with an over medium egg. He does not like over medium eggs so he did not enjoy his sandwich as much as I enjoyed mine. However, I let him try mine and he understood why I was hyping this place up!! Now what he did enjoy was that honey lemonade. He is still taking about that lemonade! The only suggestion I have is to allow customers to sample the drinks. When we were leaving my friend was going to get a lemonade to go, but said since he enjoyed the lemonade so much he would give the tea a try. I asked if he could sample it first and I was told they don't offer samples, unfortunately he did not enjoy the tea as much as he enjoyed the lemonade. If you are looking for a solid breakfast spot and like eggs I highly recommend d this spot !

The eggs on these sandwiches are PERFECT, and don't even get me started on the brioche bread... OMG. Whoever came up with this concept knew exactly what they were doing. The funniest part? This place was literally sitting right behind our hotel the entire time, and we didn't go until the LAST DAY of our trip. ‍ Talk about missing out! My wife and I both really enjoyed it, and now I'm wishing we had discovered it sooner. If you're in the area, definitely stop by and give them a try. Egg Tuck gets the stamp from us. Definitely recommend!
