Both the coffee and the croissant were a 10/10! I've been wanting to try this cafe for a while so it was nice to finally get to go. The service is quick and I loved the interior and overall ambiance. I definitely recommend for a quick coffee stop/Café vibe

I love this place. Banana cream matcha and malai cream croissant was CHEFS KISS. Staff was friendly, vibe was soothing and peaceful and I enjoy the aesthetic. Will be coming back here: thank you Swadesi.

I was looking for a place to grab a quick snack & sit with my baby then came across Swadesi. When I walked in, I did not anticipate how cutesy and decorative it was going to be on the inside. The menu is perfectly crafted and made me want to try more than what I came for. With that said, I got the Banana Cream Latte, Butter Chicken Croissant, & Gulab Jamun Cheesecake Croissant. My latte was okay and to be fair they were busy at the time. However, my pastry, and "something savory" (per their menu) were incredibly tasty. The care for presentation also elevated my excitement to eat. I will certainly be back to try another latte. The only downside was that they close at 3pm. Wish more cafes chose to stay open for a full working day schedule. Overall: 8.5/10

Chai, Gulab Jamun Croissant, Salted Jaggery Caramel Latte

This indian cafe has no misses so far. Went with a friend and ordered the Salted caramel Jaggery latte with almond milk. She ordered the chai, and we split the Gulab Jamun cheesecake croissant as well as the breakfast sandwich. The workers were friendly and the space was busy, full of groups chatting or working. We both enjoyed our drinks. I'd say that my latte had a unique flavor that I hadn't tried before that complemented the flavor of the coffee, which is what I like about trying new coffee shops. I was very satisfied with my drink. The pastries/sandwich were also great. Even though I'm not usually a fan of cream/cheesy textures and flavors, the gulab jamun croissant was still very enjoyable. At the bottom of the torched cheesecake mixture, I was surprised to find an actual gulab jamun on the bottom. It was really unique. The sandwich had some spiced mayo, spiced potato (reminded me of potato samosa) and an egg patty. Overall, I'd definitely come again to try more.

This Indian cafe is BUSSINNN. The space is super spacious and a great WFH spot during the week, though it does get loud and they don't allow laptops on weekends. The banoffee croissant (9.8/10) might actually be one of my top 5 pastries/desserts ever. The croissant is flaky like puff pastry without being overly buttery, and the banana, cream, and caramel/toffee combo was PERFECT without being too sweet. Absolutely devoured it. The strawberry shortcake matcha (9.5/10) was amazing too. The matcha stayed earthy even with all the other flavors, which I loved. Strawberry syrup was great, and the foam tasted like corn in the best way possible everything together was heavenly. The salted jaggery caramel latte (8.5/10) had an incredible first sip because of the foam, but once the foam disappeared it started tasting more like a carrot latte to me. Espresso strength was perfect though. Service was fine, you order and pick it up when it's ready.

This café had a wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee the moment I walked in. There was plenty of seating available, although most of the tables were occupied, which speaks to its popularity. Despite being busy, the service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The coffee was well-made and flavorful, and the pastries tasted fresh and paired nicely with the drinks. Overall, it's a great spot to enjoy a quality coffee break, whether you're meeting friends or just looking for a comfortable place to relax. I'd happily return.

Went here a while back, but I enjoyed my experience! Heard they have new matcha drinks on the menu, so I'll have to check that out next time I'm in Chicago. The rose and cardamom latte was better than I expected. I definitely finished my drink faster than I expected. The cafe also had plenty of indoor seating and was very clean. The service was pretty quick and the staff members were friendly. I recommend folks to swing by next time they're in Chicago!

The pastries here are the star! You cannot go wrong with anything I have literally only gone when they have only one or two pastry options left. I get whatever is available. And every, single time it's been AMAZING! I love the South Asian flavors of malai and mango and rose. However, I don't love the drinks here. They're a bit too sweet and I don't particularly like condensed milk in my chai. Caveat, I also make a damn good chai at home so I have high standards.

Great customer service. The barista seemed to love what they do. The strawberry matcha was one of the best I had to date. Loved the cold foam. Great location lots of street parking. Very cute shop.

Showing up at 1:30 on a Sunday was a bummer because almost everything was sold out. And I mean everything. There were only two lattes available. Even their iced coffee was sold out. All of their pastries. Just one cookie left in the case. They close at 4 on Sundays, so being sold out at 1:30 was a bit crazy. Come early if you want to try anything I ordered a strawberry shortcake iced latte. I didn't taste much strawberry at all, but the coffee was good. I didn't really want the strawberry shortcake, but with such limited options, I took what I could get

This cafe offers amazing combinations of bakery items with a desi twist. The Samosa Chaat Croissant and the Banana Cream Latte was super delicious. They had so many good options to choose from. Definitely going to go again to try some more options in the menu. The place is usually super busy on the weekends and the seating is first come first so plan your visit accordingly. The ambiance is quite cute. The service is good but if you're ordering a sandwich it might take some time because they prepare it hot. Definitely 9/10.

The butter chicken croissant is so innovative oh my god. I try to go back often just to get this item. Matcha is great as well! But my mind thinks about that croissant early and often

There was already a small line of guests with the same idea, but we were able to get on the waitlist. While waiting, we checked out the small coffee shop inside the gallery and browsed the furniture, which helped pass the time. Our wait was about an hour before being escorted to our table in the courtyard. Initially, we were placed at a low coffee table with couch seating. It's a cool lounge style setup, especially for drinks, but not ideal for a meal. It would have been pretty awkward trying to eat comfortably. We asked to be moved and were told that table preferences should be requested when joining the waitlist. Since it was my first time visiting, I wasn't aware of that, and it also wasn't asked by the hostess. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us and moved us to a table in the wine cellar. The wine cellar had a completely different vibe, dark and moody, compared to the bright, airy courtyard with its beautiful glass ceiling and natural light. We ordered the lobster roll and the RH Burger, both with fries. The food came out fairly quickly and was well-presented. The lobster roll was served on a buttery brioche with just the right amount of seasoning, and the burger was juicy and flavorful. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely visit again.

Unfortunately for us we were a table for 3 and despite having mad that reservation weeks in advance were placed in what was obviously just 2 two tops pushed together. And not in the main atrium area. Look it was still a beautiful atmosphere and our company made it a lovely evening. Why don't they have a liquor license here? Ok the food. The burrata salad, so nice and summer fresh. We also had the crispy artichokes meh. What saved my night was the chicken salad. The crispy bits...amazing all through the salad. So good. Let's talk dessert, the butterscotch crème brûlée so good. Coffee and a port wine.... Good, but where is the cheese board. This place would benefit from real liquor and a desert cheese board. I mean I must believe that RH has a cheese board on offer somewhere. Anyway, nice evening and decent food in a mostly lovely place.

My new favorite coffee shop... ever?? It was so good I managed to fit it in TWICE in a short trip…read more And have NOT shut up about it since I came back!! Military latte ($7.25)-- matcha and espresso mixed together with milk I don't know what sorcery they put in this but it's SO GOOD!! like matcha and espresso had a baby idk but they kept all the good parts of each other and balance each other out. For example, the matchy isn't earthy or chalky like some places or fake like the Starbucks one. The espresso isn't sour or burnt. And somehow when you combine both of them it's this perfect mellow blend but has the slight bitterness of both matcha/espresso where you're like "ah yes it's not just milk" that flavor really pulls through. But again it's mellow and blends together sooooo well like perfect mesh my goodness. Doesn't overpower doesn't feel like you're drinking matcha and coffee at the same time. It just becomes like a new thing altogether and that thing is glorious. The first time I got it iced (and the black camo latte hot) and all I could think about was how much better it would be hot.... So I had to come back for it !! And it ISSSS better hot. I enjoy hot lattes the hot milk and lack of ice is smoother and blends it together better or something. Obviously the iced version wasn't bad because I still had a great time... but when I came back for the second time and got it hot like YESSS THIS IS IT !!! Black camo latte ($7.25)-- same as Military but instead of matcha it's hojicha mixed with espresso! I took sips of this (as opposed to it being my own drink) and thought it was good! Really depends on if you like the taste of matcha or hojicha more. This one is deeper and richer, more earthy. Maybe even caramelized roast kinda flavor? Buuuut I know hojicha isn't for everyone so take it with a grain of salt. The combo with espresso is magical though like whatever ratio they're using is so perfect. It really blends together so well. ANDDDD here the coffee:milk ratio is so good!! No milky watered down lattes! I'm so used to having to add espresso shots or asking for less milk because coffee shops really be wildin in this economy but this place has a good ratio! Like yes wow we still have good things I love this for us. Matcha lemonade ($7)-- So absurdly sour I took one sip and that was enough for me!!! You really have to be a lemonade person like if that's your drink of choice to quench your thirst on a hot day then this is for you!! If you don't drink lemonade on the regular then I really wouldn't bother. I think this is a collab with a charity or something? Up your vitamin C for a good cause I guess. Cortado ($4.50)-- Espresso and milk, small cup, good test of their espresso and yesssss it passes with flying colors. And again, this place has their milk ratio down to a science. Perfectly balanced, not too much milk and you still taste all the coffee. Love love loveeeeee this place and would absolutely love an LA location. Until then, guess I'll have to plan another Chicago trip to get this goodness again !!!

I think Sawada is a little more overhyped than I would've liked…read more The Military Latte was pretty good, and I really appreciated that they offered macadamia milk! That said, the matcha itself wasn't necessarily the best matcha I've ever had. I think there was just too much milk in the drink, so I couldn't really enjoy the matcha and hojicha notes. It was enjoyable, but not memorable enough to justify all the hype - or the price. I really liked the ambiance, and the baristas were genuinely kind. They were also very willing to adjust or remake a drink when needed, which I appreciated. Overall, it's a cute spot with great service, but I genuinely cannot accept the price-to-drink ratio. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think it lived up to the hype.

It is a vibrant, modern cafe staple known for its standout bakery items like their Strawberry Cream Croissants (that looked incredibly decadent), artisanal coffee drinks, and reliable breakfast sandwiches. They do have some gluten-free baked options like the pistachio muffin my wife enjoyed. Also, they have non-bread breakfast and lunch options if you are gluten-sensitive or celiac. The place is popular, based on the queue that went out the door when we went there over the past weekend. Due to its proximity to major downtown attractions like the Art Institute and office buildings, long lines will happen during morning work rushes and weekend peak hours. But it's worth the wait. For my money, the chocolate croissant, stuffed with rich chocolate mousse, is class, and will ensure you won't go hungry. At all. In fact, I had half of it in a Ziploc for two days, and it still tasted amazing. The chocolate mousse alone will give you a rush that will send you blasting into outer space. Their morning sandwich was pretty good with scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, avocado, and tomatillo sauce on toasted semolina. Although, admittedly, I was full from also indulging on the croissant, so I had leftovers. Their coffee drinks are also divine. I went with their Vietnamese cold brew, made with condensed milk that I enjoyed immensely. If I worked in the area, I would be coming here quite a bit.
