Strawberry milk croissant, pistachio chocolate croissant, almond danish, & chicken mole
    Jim D.

The chocolate within the chocolate croissant was really good but all the other items were average at best. Didn't care for the chicken mole but savory pastries are a task in themselves. Prices were on the higher side. Be prepared for a wait depending on the time of day.

This bakery is a bit out of the way in Bridgeport but I saw the strawberry milk croissant on TikTok and had to try it out. Was not disappointed. The croissant was very very fluffy and light. The guava pastry was my favorite by far. The jam was so fresh and reignited my love for guava it was so good lol. There's pretty limited seating but I'm sensing that's a theme for most Chicago cafes. I want to try the drinks next time

I stopped by around 9:30AM this past Saturday and was able to order without having to wait in line. I picked up the breakfast pastry and strawberry milk croissant, both of which were really delicious. Staff was also friendly. The prices are quite high, and I wish they had more beverage offerings, but I would come back!

Finally made it to @fatpeachbakery! My daughter and I got there a little before 9 when they open and the line was already down the block! It took approx 15 minutes to get to the counter to order. My daughter dug into her Strawberry Milk Croissant and I had my Baked egg with spam, roasted kimchi, cheddar, black sesame & seaweed. Both were delicious and hit opposite end of the spectrum of sweet and savory. Can't wait to try the remaining pastries with the fam! (Guava Custard Danish, Hotdog Pastry, Pecan Pie Danish with maple corn cream and Hazlenut Caramel Cheesecake Danish) Beware of line jumpers or folks saving places for their friends in line. It's a bit disrespectful when people act like they can cut in line because of their friends.

This was my second time here & I still rave about this spot! Our friend was in town for the weekend and knew this was a spot we had to take her to. We came in on a Saturday right at opening and there was a bit of a tine. I do think that the rush comes in waves. After we got in, there was a bit of a lull then it picked up again. We got the seasonal items: butternut, goat cheese and chimichurri and the chilaquiles. We also a got a sweet option, which I think was pumpkin with chocolate, but my oh my each pastry we try from here is always good!!

Got a chance to check out Fat Peach Bakery in Bridgeport, absolutely worth the hype. The chilaquiles danish was perfection and the mango danish was tart and not too sweet. The coconut cardamom latte was also very good. I shared the rest of the treats, but the hotdog pastry looked fun, the raspberry danish gorgeous, my sister loved the strawberry milk croissant and the banana black sesame tres leches was interesting. Yum! There are only a few tables to sit, but most people loaded up bags for take away and the friendly staff kept things moving despite the line out the door.

this bakery has been on my list since it opened. such a warm vibe. The employees were so sweet and took their time even with a line of people out the door at all time. The pastries were delicious and not too overpowering like some other places. (Not pictured, the cold brew and the hot chocolate I ordered) unfortunately they made me a latte instead of a hot chocolate, but when I told them, they were nice enough to remake it. Definitely would come back! i was unable to try their chilaquiles pastry, but hopefully next time I can!

Raspberry with, I think, espresso cream, I couldn't really read the tag, plus I forget a little

You guys, I usually don't do this. And I may not do this. I may delete it, but my expectations were set high on this one, I invited my friends to go here on as a bit of an adventure, but I did not enjoy my experience. I got a nice picture though, so I can attest that they do make pretty and creative baked goods. I think that if this was my corner bakery, I'd be ecstatic -- it's a neat option on a seemingly vacant street and, I'm sure with repeat visits, might be great. I would just want to make some tweaks. Maybe go earlier in the day. Plan a next step. Contain my enthusiasm a little more.

Solid pastries! This is definitely a more lowkey spot compared to others but I still waited in line before they opened. The line moved pretty quickly. The people waiting for their drinks is what makes the store crowded. The bakery itself is pretty small with a smaller selection of pastries. I got the guava roll, berry cheesecake danish, hot dog danish, and breakfast croissant. Love the fun and unique combos! I also ordered a banana latte which I enioyed. The banana flavor was subtle.

Im glad there's a new bakery in the area so we have more options! I tried the ham and cheese croissant and the strawberry milk cream croissant. Both are delicious flavorful. Absolutely loved the strawberry cream. It's a small bakery so you literally order and go.

This place is worth the hype. I love supporting local asian businesses and this is one that I will come back to again and again. You can tell every pastry is made with care and ingenuity. I tried their almond croissant which is a classic for me and it was so rich and fluffy. Their breakfast sandwich was also amazing. One disclaimer I have is that all of their pastries are so thick and rich so don't let your eyes be bigger than your stomach at this place.

A crime that this bakery is so far from me bc their pastries are STUNNING!! We went during their collab with matcha moo so they only had a few pastries but they were all so good. My fav were the black sesame chocolate chip cookie (very strong sesame flavor and perfectly soft baked) and passion fruit danish (liked how tangy the passion fruit was). The laminated pastries were perfectly flakey too. Need to come back!!

I have been to Fat Peach Bakery twice, and every pastry I've tried from there has been delicious. Some of the items I've tasted include the Cinnamon Roll ($6), Strawberry Milk Croissant ($8), and the Guava Custard Danish ($9). On my most recent visit, I tried the banana latte, but I couldn't taste banana at all. There is limited seating inside with only 3 tables, so they are best for carry-out. There is no bathroom on-site either, which is a drawback. Service has always been pleasant.

We went here on a Thursday at ~11am and waited about 20 minutes to get dine-in seating. The staff members were all very welcoming, despite the amount of people they had to serve. If you are dining in, you must order all of your items in the front before being seated. Be sure to order everything you want, because the pastries might be gone by the time you want to take any to-go! The food was immaculate. The breakfast sandwich tasted like home, and the egg just melted right inside our mouths. The Ube and Coconut "Ensaymada" was another favorite. My partner and I enjoyed every single bite of it, and regretted that we did not get a second one! We weren't too much of a fan for the Black Truffle Croissant, but maybe because we aren't totally into the cheese-inside-croissant type of food. Though, it is a popular pastry, so definitely worth the try! Oh, Hot Yam! was another fan favorite (and honestly ours too) for drinks. The latte was not too sweet, and you could still taste the ube essence with hints of espresso Seating wise, there were limited booth-type of seats. We sat at the bar, but the limited seating explains why there is always a line. Very cute restaurant, and def aesthetically pleasing. We will definitely visit again, and maybe even try the tasting menu for dinner!

This is a fast casual spot so service was pretty fast. There is a decent amount of seating, most of which was surprisingly taken around 11am on a Thursday. For starters, they no longer have their rainbow cake! I was surprised to hear that considering how popular it's supposed to be. We got both banana lattes which were extremely sweet. It's basically dessert with a hint or caffeine. I'm a big fan of banana, so I actually liked this but I would've preferred half the sweetness. The Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant was so good! A solid breakfast sandwich - the eggs were cooked perfectly, the turkey bacon was insanely crispy, and that sambal aioli was just what this needed. I highly recommend adding Avocado like I did for some freshness & creaminess since it's a heavy sandwich as is. The Cinnamon Roll was soft, moist, and not overly sweet. Overall, I really enjoyed this breakfast!

The texture was perfect too, with the soft wafers blending into the pudding while still giving it that classic homemade feel. Every bite was worth it. Definitely a spot I would come back to anytime I'm craving something sweet.

I finally had the time to sit down and share my full review, and I'm genuinely excited to talk…read moreabout our ongoing experience with Magnolia Bakery in Chicago. Our relationship with this place goes back several years, and at this point, visiting it has practically become a tradition for us, one that we look forward to every time we find ourselves in the city. Our love affair with Magnolia Bakery began the moment we tasted their famous banana pudding for the very first time. It's difficult to put into words just how unexpectedly delightful that first experience was. We'd heard great things about the bakery, of course, but nothing prepared us for how rich, comforting, and beautifully layered that pudding would be. It's the kind of dessert that immediately pulls you in, creamy, flavorful, nostalgic, and yet elevated in a way that keeps you thinking about it long after the last spoonful. From that point forward, Magnolia Bakery became an essential destination on every Chicago trip, almost like a ritual that we simply cannot skip. Our fondness for this place has grown so much that it has actually begun influencing our hotel choices. Whenever we plan a stay in Chicago, we deliberately look for accommodations that place us within convenient walking distance of the bakery. The surrounding area offers plenty of shopping and sightseeing opportunities, which makes staying nearby even more appealing. It's incredibly convenient to spend a morning or afternoon wandering around the neighborhood and then find ourselves naturally gravitating toward Magnolia Bakery for a delicious break. One of the things I appreciate most about this location is what you see the moment you step inside. The bakery has an open, inviting setup that allows customers to look directly into the baking area. For me, this is such a meaningful detail. Seeing the bakers at work, mixing, assembling, crafting everything by hand, reinforces the authenticity of the entire experience. It gives me confidence in the quality and freshness of what we're eating, and it creates a sense of connection to the craftsmanship behind every cake, pudding, and pastry. You can tell that things here are genuinely made from scratch, and that alone sets the tone for how special this place feels. The ambiance of the bakery is another reason we keep coming back. As a family, we love spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, and Magnolia Bakery hits all of those marks. The interior décor has a charming, almost nostalgic aesthetic that creates a comforting mood the moment you walk in. Beyond that, there are several seating options available inside, which is perfect for us. After spending hours walking around the city, shopping, or sightseeing, being able to sit down, relax, and enjoy our treats becomes a much‑needed part of the day. Whether we're sharing different desserts, reviewing our shopping finds, or simply resting our feet, the space adds to the joy of the visit. The service style here is pretty straightforward, and honestly, that's something I genuinely appreciate. It's a typical bakery setup: you line up, scan through the display case filled with cakes, pastries, puddings, and seasonal items, make your selections, and pay right away. The simplicity of the process makes everything move smoothly. There's no rush, but there's also no confusion, just an easy, clean system that gets you from craving to enjoying your dessert in a matter of minutes. Although the line can sometimes get long, especially during peak hours or weekends, we have been lucky in that our visits almost always fall on weekdays. Because of that timing, we rarely encounter significant wait times. Even when the line does look a little long, it tends to move at a reasonable pace because of how efficiently the staff works. And honestly, even if we did have to wait, the smell of freshly baked goods and the anticipation of that first bite make the wait feel more than worth it. Overall, Magnolia Bakery has become one of those places that holds a special place in our hearts. It's not just about the banana pudding, though that will always be the star, it's about the atmosphere, the quality, the consistency, and the memories we associate with every visit. Each experience there adds something new to our affection for the place, which is why we continue returning again and again. We absolutely love this bakery, and we recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Chicago. Whether you're a dessert enthusiast, a banana pudding lover, or simply someone looking for a delightful spot to relax and treat yourself, Magnolia Bakery is an experience you shouldn't miss.
