Beautiful space! Really good coffee and quick service. We enjoyed the drinks we got and the interior heightened the experience. Also appreciate the sign that it's a no laptop zone on weekends. Person taking the order was grumpy and rude. We figured she's having a bad day and still tipped her. Nonetheless, we'd visit again for the menu items!
Great service. Adorable decor. Great atmosphere. Grabbed a cappuccino with oat milk and a vegan scone. And the barista called me. "Mara-leen" in this most beautiful accent.
The interior is absolutely stunning here. We loved the 20s vibes and how aesthetic everything is! It was very busy since we went on a Sunday morning but the service was steady. The food was pretty average but better than a chain coffee shop for sure! Definitely worth the visit just for how quaint the neighborhood is.
This cafe is stunning. It is ornately decorated and has lots of character. I ordered an Iced latte with a Nutella strawberry croissant. The coffee was a little strong for my liking, and the croissant was a smidge dry inside. I was very pleased with the ambiance, the customer service, and the overall vibe.
This cafe is just adorable! I loved the colorfulness, unique decor, and ambiance. It was work friendly (not super meeting friendly as the music is on the louder side) with lots of seating. The food looked a little expensive but I thoroughly enjoyed it and their dirty chai latte was pretty good!

A little out of the way from where I was staying, but I'm so glad I made the trip. Ambience and decoration of the restaurant is so beautiful and helps you enjoy your food more. I ordered a guava cheese croissant which was delicious and filling. Definitely recommend this place to start your day!
Cafe Deko is a beautiful coffee shop!!! Staff members were friendly and kind. Pastry case and well as food for order. Pastries come warmed up if dining in. Latte was a little milky, but still good.
Very glam and comfy environment. With friendly staff. They have menus by the ordering counter. I had a latte and iced tea. Both were great. I recommend the Halloumi & Egg Sandwich . As well as the Prosciutto Butter Croissant. Great combination of flavors for both sandwiches. The dressing on the greens salad was tasteful. It came with the sandwiches. Also had a piece of Marble cake, just the right amount of sweetness and flavor. My favorite was the guava cheese croissant great flavor and lite.

Such a beautiful coffee shop & cafe! We decided to grab breakfast here on my last day in Chicago. I chose a chai latte along with a Nutella & banana croissant. Delicious! Cafe is on a near street, with a bookstore across the way, and a wine bar next door. Will definitely visit again!

Definitely one of the most beautiful cafes in Chicago! I always bring my out of town guests here and they love it. The art deco decor is stunning! Excellent food and beverages. High quality ingredients. The breakfast and lunch sandwiches are great! Delicious pastries too. I love all their coffee and espresso drinks. Their cafe au lait is one of my favorites. They have refreshing iced teas and iced coffees, and delicious smoothies too. Everyone who works here is very kind. Excellent service. On weekends they don't allow laptops and I appreciate that. They encourage social connection. They have a small outdoor patio too and it's really cute. This place is very lively and busy. Very popular and rightly so. Great vibes all around! read more

Found this place while exploring and it is beyond gorgeous! Service was fast and friendly, the place is nice and quiet enough for study or a quick catch up with friends. They have breakfast and lunch too! Definitely recommend! read more
Beautiful inside with a classy coffee shop vibe. No computers are allowed on the weekends. Honestly it was nice to see people catch up with each other without heads buried under laptops. Coffee was solid, tried their vanilla latte. They have their own selection of food but didn't get a chance to try this time. read more
While waiting for my passport appointment this morning, I figured it was the perfect time to find a vibey café and get some work done. Naturally, I turned to Yelp and decided to take a flyer on a spot that didn't have the best reviews but looked intriguing. Well...plot twist. When I got to the end of my GPS route there was absolutely no sign of this café anywhere. No signage, no storefront, nothing. Maybe it was tucked inside one of the surrounding buildings, but after a few minutes of wandering around like a confused tourist, I realized it was time to pivot. And what a pivot it was. I looked across the street and spotted Cafe Deko, and from the moment I walked in I knew I'd stumbled into something special. The vibes are immaculate. Think beautiful Art Deco décor, sparkling chandeliers, and marble high-top tables that practically beg you to sit down, open your laptop, and pretend you're a sophisticated writer working on your next novel. I ordered a lavender honey latte, but then I noticed the pastry case and everything changed. Guava cream cheese croissant? Say less. I grabbed a marble table and before I could even finish setting my bag down, my latte and croissant were ready. Both were fantastic. The latte was smooth, lightly floral, and perfectly balanced, and the croissant was flaky, buttery, and packed with that sweet-tangy guava cream cheese goodness. Cafe Deko may not have been the café I was originally looking for, but it was 100% the café I needed today! Sometimes the best finds aren't the ones you planned. If you're looking for great coffee, delicious pastries, and a spot with serious aesthetic energy, don't sleep on Cafe Deko! read more
This is a beautiful coffee shop and I'm so happy I stopped in. The server who took my order was so chipper and friendly and he truly helped set my mood for the day. I ordered a sunrise bagel sandwich and it was very good. I think I'd go a little lighter on the garlic aioli because it was potent! My chai was delicious. The place is so swanky, you'll feel glamorous enjoying your morning cup of Joe here. There is some parking here, along Dearborn, but not much. I'm not usually this far south of Jackson but I'll be happy to swing by when I'm around. read more
Great find! Its Printers Row location is a small lovely cafe on Dearborn street perfect for a quick breakfast/ lunch. Its 1930s Art Deco design is stunning. Our order was out in minutes, and presentation was excellent. Coffee is strong and bitter, but their lattes are flavored very well. Highly recommend the pastrami croissant. read more

Beautiful interior with a great view. I've never had a salmon bagel before so this was new to me! I took a recommendation from the staff and I was pleasantly surprised with what I had encountered. The salmon was fresh and tasty, the bagel was crisp, and the eggs+ other toppings fell right into place. I had some great staff help me navigate the menu and the environment was very hospitable. Only reason I'm not giving this a 5/5 is bc of the salad. Not a big salad guy... read more
Cafe Deko is more than an insta-friendly cafe! I loved the coffee there and the baked goods are yum! Their signature coffee is the Freddo Cappuccino which is iced so find the right temperature to enjoy that in Chicago! But.. it's a perfect Saturday morning hang. What's better... it's right across a bookstore so you can get a book and enjoy a quiet morning- people watching and book reading! read more

This place lives up to the Instagram hype! The art deco interior stands out with a whimsical tropical nod. I ordered a latte and the pesto egg sandwich and the biscuit was melt-in-your-mouth fluffy and the vintage dishes add such a cute presentation! Also had to grab the walnut cake to-go as the bakery selection looked amazing. Service was super quick and friendly despite the crowd! I also liked their weekend screen-free (laptops/tablets) policy so tables opened faster and it felt more community oriented. read more

Highlights: the whole experience! The baristas are friendly (shout out to the gentleman who is regularly taking orders for being so kind and giving great recs) , the food is exceptional, the coffee is yummy, and the atmosphere is beautiful!!! This cafe has become my go-to coffee shop even though it's not super close to my apartment. Note: During the weekend, Cafe Deko is laptop/tablet free zone. Also, I cannot recommend the chocolate eclair enough! read more
Such a cute and cozy place with great coffee and delicious food. We tried the turkey and caprese sandwiches - both were fresh and very tasty. The interior is absolutely beautiful and creates a lovely atmosphere to relax and enjoy your time. Highly recommend Cafe Deko for a nice coffee break or casual meal! read more
I saw this cafe was a must in the city and decided to give it a try! When I entered it was a bit crowded but I received prompt and friendly service. The inside was still decorated for Christmas, and very festive. I have recently gone on a matcha crave and was very disappointed. Matcha is a powdered drink, but you could definitely tell with this one, as it did not go down smooth. I don't think the barista even mixed my drink as there were clear clumps of matcha and poorly mixed milk. I don't think I would come back as this was very disappointing, and hopefully the proper time and care is taken when preparing someone's drink in the future. read more
A super cute cafe in the South Loop! I especially love the mural/painting on all the walls and the chandeliers. They have a variety of pastries in the case and a handful of sandwiches. The coffee menu has the usual items. You order at the counter and they bring you your order to the table. Staff was nice and clear your table as well. I give it four stars because some food were good while others were average, and it could get crowded. I definitely recommend you check it out if you have never been but I don't think this will be my regular cafe. read more

It was so nice that I went twice. Cafe Deko was another business that was walking distance from my hotel. Yelp didn't let me down when I searched coffee shops in the area. I loved the whole ambiance of this place; the decor was terrific and definitely gave the whole Art Deco vibe. The first time I came by, they had just opened for the day so I got the whole place to myself for a few minutes. The staff was friendly and my latte was made just right. The second time I came, it was really busy, with almost every seat taken. I was able to snag a seat at the bar, though, and enjoy my drink there. This was one of the nicest cafes I've been to, so I highly recommend you stop by and soak in the vibes while you enjoy a cuppa. read more

So pretty In here! I reallly wanted to try the pastries but I was too full at the time of my visit. I loved the decor and the color scheme and all the beautiful chandeliers. Service was kind. I got the matcha iced latte basic and no sweetener- my usual- and I enjoyed it. Really hit the spot and gave me the boost I needed. I do recommend. read more

We were so excited to try this place and the decor truly lived up to the hype but the food did not. I didn't get a photo of my chai tea but it was good just too much sugar. My friend and I each got the strawberry banana smoothie, though my friend added blueberries to hers. They were refreshing but flavorless. Unfortunately the sweet chili turkey sandwich was also kind of flavorless, now that I'm looking at it on the menu again, I'm confused why all we could really taste was honey mustard, lettuce and turkey. The chipotle chicken sandwich was thank goodness a winner, as we spent over $60 for so much mediocre or worse food. We thought the place would be packed but it was not and mostly all tables were full with people working. read more
