Goddess and the Baker was located directly next to my hotel. I stopped by to grab some hot tea and it was packed inside. I stood inside and placed my order and had to wait about 10-12 mins for the tea. There were some pastries that looked very tempting but I was rushing to catch a train. There is some seating inside and outside.
I had earmarked Goddess and the Baker as a place to go before visiting the nearby Art Institute of Chicago. It is a vibrant, modern cafe staple known for its standout bakery items like their Strawberry Cream Croissants (that looked incredibly decadent), artisanal coffee drinks, and reliable breakfast sandwiches. They do have some gluten-free baked options like the pistachio muffin my wife enjoyed. Also, they have non-bread breakfast and lunch options if you are gluten-sensitive or celiac. The place is popular, based on the queue that went out the door when we went there over the past weekend. Due to its proximity to major downtown attractions like the Art Institute and office buildings, long lines will happen during morning work rushes and weekend peak hours. But it's worth the wait. For my money, the chocolate croissant, stuffed with rich chocolate mousse, is class, and will ensure you won't go hungry. At all. In fact, I had half of it in a Ziploc for two days, and it still tasted amazing. The chocolate mousse alone will give you a rush that will send you blasting into outer space. Their morning sandwich was pretty good with scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, avocado, and tomatillo sauce on toasted semolina. Although, admittedly, I was full from also indulging on the croissant, so I had leftovers. Their coffee drinks are also divine. I went with their Vietnamese cold brew, made with condensed milk that I enjoyed immensely. If I worked in the area, I would be coming here quite a bit.

Came here for our first breakfast in Chicago! The decor is super cute and there was a charm to having the extremely loud train running overhead every 5 mins! I got the banana foster latte and morning breakfast sandwich. The latte came with an almond cookie and it was pretty good, the sandwich was also good but I expected the salsa verde to have a slight kick, although also good. Maybe I'm going to the wrong places but a lot of food in Chicago said spicy and it isn't (imo). This may be a good note if you're visiting like I was! I would recommend!

The kale and apple juice is SO good! Its taste sweet with no additives. The salmond avocado toast is also really good. They give you a lot of avocado. There's a lot of seating inside and a lot of people do work here. I will say they just put the salmon all to the side and i had to spread it myself. neverless, it taste good

They were supposed to heat it up, but it wasn't warm.
Great service, good food, chill ambiance. It's popular, so order online if you're in a rush.

Sub standard shawarma. I tried it only because of the "halal" tag. Disappointed totally not worth it. But the folks at the next table were having sandwiches which looked sooooo much better. Came straight from the airport to refuel. Conveniently located right off the Blue and Red lines. This location was ~10 min walk from The Bean. I went on Fri around 12:30 pm and it was thankfully not super busy. After ordering at the register, they give you a table number. Just find a seat and a server will bring you your order. What I got: - Sunrise Burrito: 3.5/5 - I'm a bfast burrito gal, so I had to order this. It was super hot, fresh, and filling. The burrito was getting super soggy overtime bc of how steamy the fillings were. Unfortunately, the tomatillo sauce didn't really provide any additional flavor. I wish they cut the burrito in half so it's easier to eat. - Iced Latte w/ Oat Milk: 5/5 - I think I got a good one that day bc it was DELISH!! Not overly milky and I was able to taste the coffee roast, YUM! It even comes with a nice muffin treat! Loved that they don't charge extra for milk alt, like nyc. I imagine the place can get busy on the weekends and when there's nice weather. Outlets are located along the wall. They have a water station and restrooms. We arrived before the 8am Saturday opening, and it was already open with a line that moved fast. There was a large selection of delicious looking things in the case. I picked a chocolate croissant while my husband got a cinnamon roll, and of course, we tried each other's picks. The croissant was absolutely loaded with chocolate cream. It was delicious. The cinnamon roll had a cream cheese frosting. Both items were quite large, so it was good we didn't buy more items or it would have been too much food. My husband had a plain black coffee, too, and enjoyed it. We returned the next day to find a lighter crowd and a slightly different selection of baked goods. Such a good place in Chicago. The staff is very nice and have lots of extravagant pastries available every day. I went back to multiple times because it was so good. There wasn't a crazy amount of seating inside, but there is some outside but you will be hearing the train go by every two minutes. Food comes out pretty fast and seems like it's made with good ingredients. The coffee there is to die for. My favorite drink is the iced cacao date latte with the macadamia nut milk. Goddess and the Baker is such a staple in Chicago and this visit was so no different. Their vegan donuts are amazing and the cinnamon roll is a must order. Truly, everything and anything on the menu is delicious! The coffee bar is full service, with the best selection of teas. The workers are so patient, kind and attentive! It's fun to even mosey through the market and see the offerings. There's truly something for everyone and every occasion at the Goddess and the Baker! Okay, so I was really excited to try this spot but I left really unimpressed. The cookie had a crazy amount of cream, and I love cream, but that was so much! Had to finish it over the course of the day and the Lox Bagel was not that great. they, like, cut up the salmon and mixed it into the cream cheese so it was impossible to even know how much salmon there was but I could tell there was a ton of cream cheese I probably wouldnt go back of my own volition. Also I ordered it to go and then sat down to wait for my food and the staff immediately came up and started questioning me about why I was sitting there so dont ask for it to-go if you want to sit down at all. I saw this place from a mile away way and instantly made a beeline. I knew my sweet tooth would be out of control when I walked in and boy was I right. Everything looked good! I really wanted to try the s'mores bar but I'd have to get it whole as they don't serve pieces. I settled for the chocolate chip cookie, a classic, which never disappoints. It was nice because they asked if I wanted it heated up, which I've never had asked before! Let me just say, on a cold day, a warm cookie makes such a difference! The cookie was soft and was up there as one of the better tasting chocolate chip cookies I've had. I def. relished every bite. Thankfully I had enough self- control to not get another but if I didn't, I def would have. This was my first stop after landing in Chicago (recommended to me by my friend since I've never been). I got the chili crisp egg bowl which I thought was just okay. My friend's breakfast burrito was decent as well but could have been better. Neither of us were amazed with our drinks, I got the goddess sweet cream cold brew. We went into this particular Goddess and the Baker outlet on a very cold morning. The cafe was pretty crowded, and we had to stand in a small line inside. This cafe has a shared table. SERVICE Photo-fun and easy to catch your eye while walking by. Server was fine. Located downtown so not a place I would go out of my way to get to. FOOD Ordered the lemon tart and boy was it waaaayyyyy too sweet for me. I too dislike coconut and believe it was part of the crust. At least that is what I thought I was tasting. This is a fast casual spot so service was pretty fast. There is a decent amount of seating, most of which was surprisingly taken around 11am on a Thursday. For starters, they no longer have their rainbow cake! I was surprised to hear that considering how popular it's supposed to be. We got both banana lattes which were extremely sweet. It's basically dessert with a hint or caffeine. I'm a big fan of banana, so I actually liked this but I would've preferred half the sweetness. The Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant was so good! A solid breakfast sandwich - the eggs were cooked perfectly, the turkey bacon was insanely crispy, and that sambal aioli was just what this needed. I highly recommend adding Avocado like I did for some freshness & creaminess since it's a heavy sandwich as is. The Cinnamon Roll was soft, moist, and not overly sweet. The Goddess and the Baker is definitely cute -- bright, fun decor, plenty of seating, and solid Wi-Fi. It's in a great walkable part of Chicago, so it's an easy spot to duck into. Service was fast, but not particularly warm. When I asked a couple questions and tried to get recommendations, the staff didn't seem too enthusiastic or helpful. Not rude, just... uninterested. I ordered the protein bowl and a cold brew with tiramisu cold foam. The bowl tasted like a standard pre-made microwave meal you'd get at Starbucks -- very mid, lacking flavor, and nothing I'd go out of my way to order again. The coffee was the bigger disappointment: I asked for cold brew topped with cold foam (specifically not a latte!), but it came out tasting like MILK with zero coffee flavor. Overall, it's a cute spot to sit and work, but the food and drinks didn't land for me. A solid three stars -- fine, but not somewhere I'd rush back to for the menu. read more

No you cannot unfortunately, it's first come first serve

Absolutely! Contact them directly for pickup options or order through a delivery service.
Where would be a good place to park?
There is usually metered parking available right on Wabash. There is also a safe parking garage a half block away at 55 E Monroe. (If you reserve a parking space through an app like ParkWhiz you can get a deeply discounted rate.)
Do you carry Keto (low carb) options?
I don't think they have any items specifically marketed as keto-friendly, but they do have some omelettes and various forms of eggs available. I'm sure they'd be happy to modify the ingredients to work with your diet.
Is the Rainbow Cake Latte a Permanent item?
It has to be at least "semi permanent". I've seen it several times in the past outside of pride week. As a matter of fact I was there Thursday of pride week and they did NOT have it (guessing sold out as it was late in the day :(
Any Vegetarian options?
We just had coffee and scones, so yes? I am vegetarian also, but just came for dessert. Which was yummy!!
