This shop is situated at a food court in sky deck building. Service was great and friendly; had a long line but it went through quickly. Donuts: 5/5 Pistachio and baked orange were delicious to each their own but pistachio one was our fav! The texture was dense and packed but my, flavors were so delicious and weren't too sweet. Oat-milk latte - Yum! Should've asked for less ice because the flavor got diluted but it was the perfect balance between sweet and bitter. Would recommend and will be back.

Fun signage in the restroom to help you wash your hands for 20 seconds.

You really can't go wrong with Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken! No matter what location I visit the donuts are always consistently delicious. This was my first time visiting this location and the service at this location is top tier. During my visit The manager was actively training someone on the cash register so service was a little slow but both of the women were very friendly. I loved that they took a few minutes to chat with everyone and make us all smile. During this visit I decided the try the breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was much larger than I expected. I ordered the turkey sausage and egg sandwich. Overall, the sandwich was tasty and I easily got two meals from the sandwich. The inside of the donut shop is a little tight. They have a ton of seating inside but they have a row of stools right next to the cash register. When the line got long there wasn't a lot of space to move away from the cash register without feeling like you had to push into the people sitting down eating their food. They do have a lot of space outside so I highly recommend dining outside or taking your food to go!

Top left to right: blueberry, pistachio lemon, maple bacon, cinnamon old fashion, buttermilk old fashion, maple bacon

Stopped here and grabbed a half dozen for breakfast this morning. It smelled of freshly made donuts and sweet sugar air filled the building. I was salivating just walking through the door. We had to try the cake like and old fashioned donuts since the yeast style are our least favorite. We got 2 different old fashioned donuts (cinnamon of and buttermilk of) and 4 cake like (pistachio lemon, blueberry, 2 maple bacon). Favorite to least: maple bacon, buttermilk of, cinnamon of, blueberry, pistachio lemon. We would definitely be back. Jake n kev

The service here was so nice which is the main reason this place gets 4 stars. I got their Boston cream (3/5), apple fritter (3/5), old fashioned (4/5), and the sweet & spicy crispy chicken sandwich (2.5/5). The Boston cream wasn't sweet at all. The chocolate glaze on top was good but I couldn't really taste the custard. The old fashioned was solid but didn't really stand out to me. The chicken sandwich wasn't crispy unfortunately and was probably just sitting out for a while getting soggy. The flavor was fine but I wouldn't consider this to be sweet or spicy. Overall donuts and food were fine but imo there's better donut places elsewhere.

First time visiting Do-Rite Donuts and they have some great donuts. I visited later in the day so they didn't have a full selection but there were quite a few donuts to choose. I ordered a chocolate covered sour cream donut, a plain one and a cinnamon one and loved them all. One of them we saved for two days and it was still nice and soft inside. The location I went to, I passed it while looking for it but found it when I turned around and walked back. This location is small with counter seating and just a couple of indoor tables. There were several covered outdoor tables though. I will visit Do-Rite again for sure.

    Gluten Free Donuts

Hands down the best gluten free donuts I've had in 14 years since going gf. My husband and son couldn't tell that they were gf. I brought them back home and shared with my Mom who is also gf and her eyes nearly popped out of her head with the first bite. 10/10 must get when in Chicago

Good for donuts, good for chicken. VooDoo Donuts is nearby, but I feel like this place has more of an old-time vibe while still offering donuts with innovative flavor combinations. it is not about the gimmick, but about the quality. Their cake donuts are most popular, but I also enjoyed their apple fritter and a "non-fried" donut (which is more or less like a muffin top). You may have to wait in line a bit because it is popular, but you'll be happy with the donuts. It doesn't quite reach destination status, tho. More like, if you are in the neighborhood, this place is solid.

I came here for a quick late lunch and ordered a chicken sandwich and a donut. The chicken sandwich isn't out of this world, but it was good. The donuts are delicious. The fact that you can get tasty donuts and fried chicken sandwich at the same place is why I give it 5-stars. They were quick to get the orders out and super friendly. There's limited seating indoor, but there's some outdoors.

Pros: Large amount of cake and yeast donut options Friendly, knowledgeable staff Cons: Small space Pricey Pro tip: Go thru red door and not into office bldg. I did not get chance to try the sandwiches, but heard they are pretty good too!

I was staying a block away from Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken and even though my hotel offered continental breakfast, I wanted to pick up a selection of donuts to try. I ended up getting a half dozen consisting of a maple bacon, French cruller, buttermilk old fashioned, cheese danish, carrot cake, and a Michigan apple fritter. Especially considering the price ($21 after tax with a dollar up charge for the maple bacon), I'm not impressed. I didn't think the carrot cake had much carrot flavor and I've had better maple flavored donuts elsewhere. I had high hopes for those two in particular. The best one was the Michigan apple fritter, though the buttermilk old fashioned and French cruller were good as well. I didn't care for the cheese danish at all.

I am absolutely in love with this place! My boyfriend found this place on the gluten free restaurants list, so we had to try it. This location was right down the street from our hotel. The first donut I tried was plain with white icing. It was thick and The dough was so soft and moist. The icing and sprinkles were great. It did not taste gluten free at all. It was so good the next day I had to stop by to try the other 2 flavors. All three flavors were great. The staff was super friendly. I recommend this spot to any gluten free eaters. There's also vegan donuts. Outside of taste, the fact that the donuts are reasonably priced is also a big win! I will come back every time I'm in town.

Absolutely delicious!! This was a gem of a find in town. I placed the order online, walked over from my hotel and picked up. It was ready within 10 minutes! I had the BEC add spicy chicken on donut bun. OMG! I've never had anything quite like this. My friend had the regular Spicy Chicken sandwich which I got to try and HOLY. It was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I ordered a Chocolate Old Fashioned donut, too, which was yummy. I'd probably like the regular better but that's just preference. The staff here are so nice and welcoming. It's bright and sunny inside and smells delightful. Their prices are also competitive. I'd go here all the time if I lived in the area! Highly recommend!

Blueberry crumble in the back was good as well as the classic Buttermilk Old Fashioned in the front.

Sadly, the last stop on the donut tour downtown Chicago. Had a lovely time. I have been to this Do-rite and it's a small busy location next to Northwestern. If you are looking for extras like a breakfast sandwich, chicken sandwich with sides, gluten free or vegan donuts come here. I had the blueberry crumb donut which was good. Kind of like it had bits of country blueberry jam stuck in it. Also had the buttermilk old fashion. It was textbook classic with a soft moist flavorful interior surrounded by a nice sweet and crunchy exterior.

Anybody know if they still have vegan donuts?

Hi Stacy, we sure do have our vegan donuts available! There are three flavors: Maple Chai, Double Chocolate, and Orange Olive Oil.

Does this place get very crowded on weekends? Is it hard to get a spot to sit?

Not too sure. The place itself is quite compact. So if there is a decent amount of customers, it can be seem as crowded.
