We tried to visit Stan's on Sunday, but the line was outrageous. It was out the door. They do offer online and kiosk ordering, but I wanted to get a visual on the donuts before making a selection. We opted to go elsewhere. On Monday, we tried our luck again, and while there was still a line, it was reasonable (and inside the cafe...). I ordered a spinach and feta pastry, and two donuts - chocolate and blueberry. For drinks, I tried the mango dragon fruit refresher and the pumpkin spice latte. The cashier also offered a tasty sample of their cold brew. Everything was ready pretty quickly, and I enjoyed every bite/sip! I'd definitely return on future trips to Chicago.
Donuts are delicious. Had the coconut, the strawberry biscoff, and a peanut butter and jelly. Regular coffee is solid and the raspberry refreshers were sweet but not too sweet. The prices are affordable and the service and storefronts are friendly.
First time in Chicago and went here everyday. The coffee was delicious, and staff was very nice. The inside has very cute decorations.
I walked into this place and was amazed by the and pastries, as everything looked so good! I tried at least 3 and everyone was delicious. The place is convenient and is kept very clean. Unfortunately, the coffee drinks were just not good at all to me. Not sure if they weren't made well or what but my salted caramel latte literally only tasted like salt. I tried so hard to like it, yet get half way through and couldn't because it was just that bad. If I hadn't left before trying it I would have asked to have it remade or a refund.
Stumbled upon this place walking around Michigan Avenue looking for something open on Labor Day and happened to walk right past this place. Upon walking in the shop is connected to a closed restaurant and there's not much space to wait but it smelled so good that we wanted to wait, there was a line but there was a worker walking around taking orders to shorten the line, they attended us so quickly that we were able to get in an out within 15 minutes. We ordered a hash brown and two combos which included a breakfast sandwich and brewed coffee. Everything was so delicious, the croissant was so soft and fluffy and everything had so much flavor that we were mad we hadn't stumbled upon this place sooner! The coffee was strong but they had milk and sugar to fix to your liking. Everyone there was really nice and even offered us a table because they were about to finish up, it was a nice and calm atmosphere and didn't feel like they were rushing to get you out. We also got a strawberry glazed doughnut and it tasted so fresh, long story short, stop by and give Stan's a try!
We visited this location on a trip to the Windy City. It is conveniently located right off Michigan Ave. in the Loop. We parked in the Grant Street River North Garage so it was perfect. Despite the bustling summer tourist traffic outside, the restaurant was quiet and pleasant. We were greeted by friendly staff and efficient service. Those who had coffee loved it. I bought a doughnut and kept it bagged until that evening. It was still fresh and delicious! The donut style is puffy and airy, not a heavy dough. The Bavarian cream was soooo good! It also was light and fluffy. Just a note that you'll need to be buzzed into the restrooms by staff. A suggestion would be to mark the door ls accordingly as it was confusing to a non-regular patron.
On our way to The Cloud, my friends and I dropped by Stan's for a quick little pick me up. I had seen so much hype about the place on Tiktok and was really excited to check them out. I ended up getting a chocolate old fashioned and matcha latte sweetened. The store itself is super cute and had so many options for donuts, I wanted to order it all but just opted for one. The team here was really friendly. When they called me for my drink order, it was a chai but they were able to fix that right away. My matcha was so smooth and perfectly sweetened, not too much since I was already eating a donut. The matcha gave me the much needed energy boost and the shop kept us warm because it was definitely cold outside. 1000% recommend checking out Stan's everyone is so nice and the food and drinks are great and exactly what you need.
Great stop for donuts! Lots of flavor options and soft and pillowy! Tried the brown butter donut- it reminded me of the Harry Potter butterbeer. Kind of a mix of caramel and butter. Very good! Would recommend!
Stopped here on the way to the bean! The staff was really friendly and they even offered samples which was really nice. I got 3 of the mini carrot cake donuts- I wish I had mixed and matched and gotten other ones but I didn't realize that until it was a little too late. The carrot cake donuts was delicious though! I wouldn't expect the full flavor of carrot cake, but some of the flavors do get highlighted (cream cheese frosting, cinnamon, ginger). I liked the mini size as it was perfect to eat while walking around! The store itself has a cozy cafe vibe with plenty of outdoor seating.
Stan's is a cute donut and coffee shop and the drinks all look really good! I was given a sample of a new refresher and I honestly wish I would've order that instead of the coffee. We got both the hot and ice version of the same drink and it was just ok. I've had better coffee and other places and at a better price.

This location of Stan's was pretty busy in the morning, but the line moved fast. There are so many donut options to choose from that I was a bit indecisive. So many great options! I decided on the brown butter glaze, which was a great choice. It had just the right amount of sweetness!
We got 3 doughnuts and all were mediocre at best. We got a lemon pistachio old fashioned, glazed, and a carrot. My wife's regular coffee was just average. I got a specialty iced drink that didn't taste that good, but more importantly they asked for my name and said it would be ready shortly. Ten minutes later after not getting my drink I have to go ask about it(which I hate doing) and she was confused about what drink I was talking about and then they checked and made it and a minute or two it was ready...they forgot about it and nobody apologized...not good.

Coffee and donuts, a classic combo. Stopped by this popular establishment during a recent visit to Chicago. Service was ok, not super friendly but not terrible. I ordered an Americano which was good. My donut was just ok. I was a little disappointed because I didn't really taste the lemon or pistachio, it was more like a glazed old fashioned, which I love, but was looking for the flavor I actually ordered. read more
Hmmmmm Stan's didn't really meet my expectations. The donuts looked really appealing, but they did not taste good. Coffee was ok. For the price, the donut should actually be filled correctly. The donut I got was only stuffed halfway! The chocolate glaze was too thick. Service - oh, let me just call them out as genZ. Absolutely no fake smiles here. Just dead pan. read more

After one bite I understand why the shop was so crowded! Really tasty donuts and lots of fun and unique flavor options. We went around breakfast and it was crowded but the staff was great and the line moved quickly! The Croissant donut was delicious but the Pistachio Lemon Old Fashioned was out of this world amazing! It made a great quick breakfast treat but honestly doubts are good all day long! Will definitely be back on my next trip to Chicago! read more

Bright and cheerful music plays as you walk in but there's also outdoor seating available. There's selections of donuts and some savory pastry. The old fashion pistachio lemon donut I was very excited to try and it exceeded my expectations! The lemon enhances the pistachio flavor and the old fashion texture was perfect I love that their chai is also on the more spicy than sweet side too read more

Stoped by during my Chicago trip, I loved the strawberry matcha and came back twice before heading back home. The line was long so it is quite a wait but worth it for the drink. A little small inside so you'll be crowd. The donuts were average nothing I'd be amazed about. Drink 10/10 Donut 6/10 read more
This spot near Millennium Park was a great place to stop in for a quick treat and a coffee. I loved that you can order on a kiosk, because the donut ordering process seemed a little chaotic and noisy. I got the banana chocolate lightning and a Boston cream donut, and Nate got a cold brew with sweet cream and a cinnamon sugar donut. The space isn't huge, but they have some tables as well as a pretty decent-sized patio out front. They called out our name when our items were ready. The banana chocolate lightning was pretty sweet and didn't have as much banana flavor as I was thinking it might, but it was definitely a fun treat. We actually ended up mixing the two drinks together halfway through, which worked out nicely to kind of balance them out. The donuts were fresh and they have plenty of options to choose from. The bathroom is unlocked via an employee button behind the counter, so if you can't get in, be sure to ask. read more

This was my first meal after my red eye flight. I saw this was a local chain, and we needed something quick before our busy day of sightseeing, so why not? This chain is definitely known for their donuts. They had so many options, from classic flavors like glazed to more unique options. We tried the brown sugar donut and the glazed. The glazed was good, but it is what you expect, whereas the brown sugar one was something I will definitely crave later. They also offer breakfast sandwiches and we got one with bacon and another with sausage. Both were great breakfast sandwiches and came out warm. The spinach and feta pastry we got was also a great breakfast option. Maybe this is because I come from a huge coffee hub, but I thought the coffee tasted watered down. Both the latte and americano we got lacked a strong coffee taste, and the syrups were nothing special. So, I would skip on the coffee and get it elsewhere. I would still give this a 4/5 since the food was excellent as a fast food option! read more
First time in Chicago and I was only there because of a layover. Me and my boyfriend had a sweet tooth after our lunch we had. We ended up stumbling across Stan's Donuts and loved the outside of the building. We went inside and we could tell it must have been a staple because almost all of the donuts were gone. There wasn't must of a selection because they ran out of a lot of the donuts. We ended up getting like two donuts but honestly weren't too impressed with them. Service was good and I will try to come again to give a better rating. read more

Visiting Stan's Donuts & Coffee was absolutely worth the hassle of getting there. As a non-local, what I thought would be a quick walk ended up turning into an Uber ride--but the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm smile that made it all worthwhile. The staff were charming and sweet, which set the tone for my visit. I had read some reviews beforehand, and I'm happy to say the donuts lived up to the hype! I went with the classic glaze and the birthday cake--both were fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried the chicken quesadilla, which had just the right amount of spice to balance out the sweetness of the donuts. Of course, I couldn't leave without a coffee, so I ordered a vanilla iced latte. It was smooth and perfectly crafted, the kind of drink you can sip while people-watching from the window. Fun moment: while sitting by the window, I noticed an ad for Labriola Pizza--guess where I ended up for dinner later that night? Great marketing, because I was sold right then and there. Overall, Stan's Donuts is a must-visit if you're in Chicago. I'll definitely be back on my next trip! read more

I tried the strawberry matcha and was unfortunately disappointed. The matcha flavor was not really present, and the drink was overly sweet to the point I couldn't drink beyond a couple of sips. My brother also tried the regular matcha latte, and said the matcha flavor was off and couldn't finish the drink. The donuts on the other hand were actually really good. My family and I tried the birthday cake, glazed, and brown butter caramel, which were all good. The birthday cake/ confetti one was on the sweeter side, but that was expected. Stan's is a staple Chicago chain. This one is a busier location because it's close to the bean but we didn't have any issues on a Saturday morning in the middle of January. The service was quick and organized everyone had a station. It was also a clean spot even in a busy location. The Americano was super hot but good. The crossiant donut was super moist and the custard wasn't over powering and I'm not a custard person but I liked this. With such a cute ambiance, I would have thought the donuts would have been tastier! I got the brown butter donut and a drink. The donut itself was very dense and on the sweeter side. The drink itself was refreshing, but had more than half the cup filled with ice... Service was pretty friendly. They have the order kiosk, but it doesn't include all the items that are actually available. For example, items that are sold out on the order kiosk were actually available to order at the counter. read more

Food- famous for doughnuts, they were okay. I had the cinnamon roll and the plain classic. Service is a little rude if you ask a few extra questions with respect to doubts on coffee! The ambience and atmosphere is quirky, cute and pink! We had Stan's coffee (medium roast) and a mocha, both chilled- we did ask if the Stans coffee comes with milk and then what is the specialty? No specific answer but affirmative that it includes milk. There wasn't any. read more

I've been enjoying Stan's Donuts for a few years now. Whenever I'm in the city and in the mood for a donut, Stan's is a good place to stop by. I like this Michigan Ave location due to its proximity to Millennium Park. My daughter runs in quite a few races, so it's a nice place for me to enjoy a donut and coffee. My personal favorite is the lemon pistachio old fashion. It is cloyingly sweet and very satisfying when you need a hit of sugar. :) It is crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The flavor combo of lemon and pistachio is perfect. It tends to be one of the flavors that run out so if you want to try it, go earlier in the day! At 7 am on a Sunday morning, service was great! The staff were very friendly and efficient. The only downfall of this location is the seating is somewhat limited. read more
Toffee cake and Gluten less blueberry are deliciously great. All employees are super friendly and welcoming. Please managers better treat them better for better things to come to your store! Firstly, the service was great both times I went! The staff were attentive and quick. I got the matcha latte with almond milk both times and was perfect. Not too sweet, just right. It's a cute stall in a food hall with lots of variety. Glad I could support locally. read more
If you like donuts this is a must stop when in chicago. They make them really good. Plus their coffee and hot chocolate is fantastic. I had a berry donut that was stuffed with cream cheese filing and I loved it. I also had a pumpkin glazed old fashioned donut and it was really good too. I recomend both. read more
Vegan chocolate donut was okay, I liked the chocolate frosting but the donut itself was sort of dense and dry. However I do appreciate that they offer two vegan options. I would assume the regular donuts are much better. Staff were really friendly. Place is busy but line moves fast and it's pretty spacious inside. read more

Does anyone knows if they're open on thanksgiving morning?
They weren't last thanksgiving-- even though on Yelp it said they were opened. We ended up going to Psycho donuts nearby, I would call ahead and confirm
