Pretty cool place to get your ice cream! I opted to do the full experience and get their iconic product. Despite all the different flavors, they all blended together pretty well. They're always busy, so make sure to expect waiting in line. I know Chicago real estate is hard to come by, so finding a place to sit was hard to do (but not the establishment's fault). Would recommend anyone to try this place out if you're visiting!

Had a craving for a caramel sundae and they didn't disappoint. The ice cream and the toppings were good! They layer the caramel and I love that! They were very busy when we went in but they got the line down to nothing in no time. They had a great system in place and were able to get us in and out quickly. Stays open fairly late for a dessert store.

Popular places aren't always overrated. Sometimes they're popular for a reason. And this place is popular for the right reasons. It's tried and tested and perfect for a hot summer day. Would recommend getting the original.

I stopped by about 15 minutes before closing and was surprised to see there was still such a long line. The staff was clearly working hard and keeping up with a busy crowd, but the service still felt a little slower than I expected. I ordered the small Chocolate Obsession, which came with five different types of chocolate. It was rich, delicious, and definitely worth trying if you're a chocolate lover. Despite the wait, I enjoyed it and can see why this place is so popular.

A small ice cream shop located just about 3 minutes walking distance from Millennium Park. I came here with my family. We saw some good reviews so we wanted to give it a try. There are various flavors to choose from. We got birthday cake and orange sherbet. Both flavors were delicious. If you're in this area looking for ice cream, I would recommend this shop. Note that there aren't much seating available though.

Pretty good! It definitely hit right on a cold day. I tried the Strawberry and Cookies & Cream. Nothing else to add, give it a shot!

Been wanting to try this since last summer. Finally opens in downtown Chicago late summer 2025. And here I can in Jan 2026 enjoying a palate cooling delight during the freezing winter. However totally worth it. Besides the obvious eye catching presentation, the rich flavorful layers were not only delicious but also fun. The rainbow cone is comprised of five flavors (chocolate, strawberry, palmer house, pistachio, and orange sorbet) stacked on top of each other and served in your choice of a regular cone, waffle cone or cup. Overall good. Next time I think I'll try their chocolate delight.

Recently went to The Original Rainbow Cone and had a delicious and unique experience. We ordered the Original Rainbow Cone, and since it was happy hour on a weekday before 3pm, the small was $5 instead of $5.99. The employee asked if we wanted a cake or waffle cone, and we chose waffle, but were not told it would be an additional $1, which essentially offset the happy hour savings. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know upfront. Seating inside is limited, but with early March weather in Chicago, it was actually perfect to enjoy it outside without worrying about melting. The ice cream itself was fun and memorable. It was not quite as creamy as I expected, but each of the five layers had a distinct flavor and personality. As you make your way down, the flavors start blending together, which ended up being just as enjoyable as tasting them individually. The waffle cone, unfortunately, was the weakest part. It tasted fairly plain and was thicker than expected, so it lacked that crisp crunch. Considering it also cost extra, it slightly detracted from the overall experience. Still, I am very glad I finally tried this Chicago classic and would love to come back to sample some of their sliced creations, like the Cosmic Birthday next time.

Delicious. The staff is nice. The line went pretty quick. No place to sit and relax. The rainbow choice ice cream was pretty cool. You can't a small if you order that. The ice cream was ok. Two of our party really enjoyed the chocolate obsession.

What a cool concept and fun spot for ice cream! It's no wonder it's been around for a long long time, it's fun & tasty! They offer a good variety of ice cream flavors, ice cream, cakes, shakes, and mini donuts with ice cream. Of course, we just tried the classic rainbow cone, which was five flavors of ice cream in one cone. You don't think the flavors are gonna go well together, but they really do. The flavors in the coat and our chocolate strawberry Palmer house, which is vanilla with walnuts and cherries, pistachio, and an orange sherbet. It was really really good, and we would be happy to return.

So yummy! Quick and fast service! All the flavors go so well together. Perfect for a walk around the Bean area.

New location opened on Michigan Ave. I tried the chocolate obsession that included ice cream slices of chocolate, peanut butter swirl, cookies & cream, and big muddy (dark chocolate ice cream with a caramel swirl and brownie pieces). If you are a fan of chocolate, this creation will hit the spot. I ordered a junior size and it was huge. A friend in our party had a nut allergy and the staff was super accommodating to ensure that my friend was cared for. They used new spatulas and got it in the back. Rainbow cone has a rewards programs that you can sign up for to accumulate points. Inside, the line may appear long, but it moves quickly. Will be back to try some other flavors!

Wanted something tasty for dessert and came upon this place from IG…read more I ordered the cream soufflé and the matcha float. Both came out in pretty quick time even though it was a busy Saturday evening. Loved the cream soufflé! It was something different that I wanted to try and it wasn't too sweet which was amazing. The soufflé was so fluffy and hot and fresh. The cream inside was sooo good! Everything was well balanced together and the float was also great. Only downside is that it's a really small place. So inside felt very cramped and crowded.

We ended up getting the Matcha smoothie with red beans on the bottom, as well as a matcha float with Ube soft serve. My friend got the Matcha smoothie and said the Matcha was a tad bitter, but also a little too much he said that the Matcha and the ice wasn't really well mixed. Therefore it tasted a bit icy, but he agrees the overall flavor was all right, but he probably wouldn't get that if we came back. On the other hand, my Ube and Matcha float was absolutely delicious. I knew I wanted the Ube soft serve over the Matcha soft serve because I'm very picky with my Matcha, but I also didn't want to get Matcha tea as well as the Matcha soft serve as I figured that would be a little bit too much. I would literally come back just for the Uber officer, it was perfectly sweet, but not overly sweet and the texture was extremely creamy and soft, perfect for a hot day. I'll definitely be coming back just to get that and I also appreciate the server, giving us her favorite combinations and suggestions. It was extremely crowded by the time we left the place literally opened at 11:30, so you know the restaurant has a good reputation already in the community! We will definitely come back!

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.

For a sit-down restaurant, I prefer to eat first and pay after, especially when service is expected. The service was not very proactive during our visit.
