Came here after lunch yes and it was perfect. I got the boo batter which is dyed a version of the cake batter ice cream. My friend got the strawberry blonde and my other friend got the coffee ice cream with M&Ms. I love that they were able to let us sample it before we bought. I basically wasted my money. The store was extremely hot upon arrival and I'm saying like 90 plus. Outside was way cooler. They basically served us soup, the ice cream was so liquidity that we couldn't even enjoy it. I threw it away immediately and the cashier acknowledged how soupy the ice cream was. Placed an online order for a delivery and as I was placing I put the wrong date and I didn't realize it until I got the confirmation when I realize it was for tomorrow and not Thursday. I was freaking out because there was no way I could tweak the order so I was calling and calling and the phone rang and got disconnected. So I call the 800 number hoping they can get in touch with the store for me to make a correction. Luckey I called again I got this Superstar GM David who answered and explained what happened he was so nice and told me not to worry and that he will take of it, so he just called me on my cell letting me know he was able to change the delivery to happen on Thursday and not tomorrow. This place is highway robbery at its finest. One - they don't disclose how expensive the ice creams end up being. It cost us TWENTY dollars for a small ice cream and a small shake. We got two signature items with no add ins and it still cost us almost $10 an item. They messed up my ice cream order twice and the shake tasted like watered down milk. Staff was rude and unhelpful. I'm dreading giving 2 stars but David took great care of us after the one female worker made it very clear that they were about to close and she walked to the back and didn't assist us. I work in customer service so it makes me so upset when people that work in my industry are so very unpleasant. We arrived 10 minutes before closing and two of the workers were visibly pissed that we came in for a few scoops of icecream. I highly doubt that I'll ever return. read more

Cold stone runs close to oberwise in my opinion. I think they are both equally good. What i like about cold stone that oberwise does not do is the mixing of the ice cream and other sweets. The options are really unlimited. You can pick anything and they will mix it into your ice cream. Im more of a shake guy so i always get the got to have it cake shake which is flat out amazing. Give it a try. Its will be a new favorite. read more

After leaving Jewel-Osco watching lots of people walk by me with cups of delicious ice cream from this place that I've never been, I asked a stranger where Coldstone was, and he kindly told me I was only a few feet away from it....I raced around up and down, right and left, and finally wondered in at 9pm, the newest in a loooong line of ice cream fanatics. There were two people on staff and they were working as fast as they could, so we didn't have to wait very long. I counted at least ten topping options, but I wants to keep it simple and tasty...All I could think of was my Sea Salt Caramel Cream with Double Pecans in a Chocolate dipped Waffle Cone cup and "I Loved It" I also love that the ice cream stayed frozen for my twenty-five minute bus ride home. Just had Cold Stone's innovative cone bowl ice cream I was apprehensive at first wondering how am I gonna eat this cone that has been wedged in a bowl I'm not sure about the total science behind it but I miraculously scarfed it all down. Because Mr Jimi's dad didn't raise no quitter My girlfriend/life partner helped herself to some of my cake batter batter batter. "Hey if you wanted your own fries you should've ordered some" And while I'm at it, you should always get car fries when you go through a drive thru. Those the fries you eat on the way home. God damn, fellas. I was here tonight. They ran out of milkshakes. Did you just reread that, thinking you must have misread it? You read it correctly. An ice cream place that ran out of milkshakes! Worse, they had no signs indicating they were out. They just let people wait in line. Just shut down. Seriously, you're not smart enough to run an ice cream stand. What could you be out of if you ran out of milkshakes? Cups? Milk? Looks like other reviews are bad, too. Why doesn't a district manager just shut this place down? This place caused an absolute nightmare, which began when I saw the ice cream cake that I ordered. The lettering was completely off--it looked like "Happy Birthday" was written, not in cursive, but in horror font. Also, the (minimal) Oreos on the cake were broken. Shame on the employee selling the cake, and shame on the company for not properly training their employees how to write cake icing. I was simply mortified with the cake. read more

I am trying not to brag (I am totally bragging) but I made the absolute best ice cream / topping combination that has ever blessed this earth. Ok ok ok hear me out...I did banana ice cream as the base, then got pounded in (that's what she said) double Oreo, peanut butter and threw in some rainbow sprinkles for a little razzle dazzle. There are so many options -- it's a little bit overwhelming. After much deliberation, I got the flavor with cake batter ice cream and Oreos mixed in. I have to admit that the ice cream is good, but it is very expensive for what it is. I would definitely consider it a rare treat more than a go-to spot. read more

We were in the area and decided to walk over and get some ice cream after dinner. This was Sunday, August 13th. The line was pretty long but hoping it would go by quick as there was 2 young guys working and plus, it was expected on a warm summer night in the downtown area of Chicago. Waited probably 10min or so. Still I was ok with that and my kids and hubby were outside waiting but enjoying the weather. Ordered 2 create-your-own ice creams and an Oreo shake... got my ice creams, paid, and then the young guy who was attending me walked away to attend someone else... I think he forgot I also ordered a shake... I was like wtf (in my head) but being as nice as I am, I wasn't gonna make him look dumb in front of a long line of people. I simply kept eye contact w him and as he rung that customer out, he saw me look at him and said "oh, I knew I was forgetting something" and he started making the shake FINALLY that took a few more minutes. When he handed it to me, he just said "sorry about that" and I walked out. So I gave this location 2 stars since I did eat the ice cream. read more

For starters, there were two people working behind the counter and only three patrons in the store. The one female employee neglected the patrons while the one male employee waited on everyone. The staff were unpleasant and not service oriented. The whipped cream cost $.98 for (kid you not) a small dollop. I ordered a small "like it" with nothing additional and it was $7.71!!! Went here twice. The music was a little inappropriate but the girls turned it down as soon as a cuss word popped out. Your average Creamery store other than that. Hours are good. Visited the store on a Friday night around 10pm. The shop was empty when we walked in but filled up quickly. The staff was very friendly and eager to assist customers and let patrons try flavors before committing to an order. While one staff member rang up my order, another asked about my day and gave me a coupon for a future visit. The ice cream was delicious and flavorful as usual and the portion sizes were generous. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

It's made with ube chiffon cake, macapuno (coconut) filling, and ube mousse. As soon as I took a bite, the cake practically melted in my mouth, it was so light, soft, and delicious! The slice was also a generous portion and was plenty to share with my husband and toddler, who couldn't get enough of it. The Ube Latte was also really good and paired perfectly with the cake. They have such a great variety of treats, including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and so much more. I especially love that they incorporate popular Filipino flavors like ube and pandan, and I even spotted a seasonal calamansi offering. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back for more! There's still so much to try at Jennivee's Bakery, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Cold Stone Creamery on Ohio St. is a great spot to satisfy your sweet cravings! The ice cream is rich, creamy, and customizable with tons of fun mix-ins. The staff was friendly and worked quickly even though it was busy. The store can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends, but the quality makes it worth the wait. Your average cold stone creamery. It's clean and you are quickly served. The employees are a little aggressive and eager to serve you though. But after trying better ice shops I realize that cold stone quality is not good, your average grocery store ice cream is better than this.
