Ice cream is great, and their seasonal flavors are always a blast to try! The staff is always very friendly and kind, and they're very patient while you sample different ice cream flavors. They have small indoor seating and some outdoor seating, which is really nice in the summer!
Love going to Jeni's in another city/state! What I loved about visiting from another state is seeing the fidelity to the brand. The line was out on the sidewalk in Chicago and just know Jeni's is always worth the wait. We sampled multiple flavors before deciding on the two we got - confetti bday cake and sweet cream biscuits and peaches - I may have butchered the names but the flavor profile is always amazing! We decided to eat outside bc the weather was nice.
we waited 50mins on a Tuesday night! I love jeni's but not sure I'd say it's worth that long of a wait. we tried the birthday cake, Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks Ice Cream. pretty good and not too sweet!
Great ice cream! I've had jeni's from the frozen section at the grocery store, so it was nice to try out an actual store location! We went on a Friday night and it was pretty nice out, so there was a WAIT. We waited for at least 30 minutes. There was a ton of people, but I wanted to try Jeni's not from the frozen section, so we waited. Once we got inside, I understood the wait. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful- and they let you sample as much as you want. I must have tried 4 different flavors. It was so hard to pick what I wanted. I ended up getting the banana pudding and the berry passion fruit ice cream- they paired together very nicely. Both were so flavorful, but I do think you need something to balance the berry ice cream (it's quite tart). They also make their waffle cones fresh behind the counter (in case you couldn't already smell the sweet waffle cones!). They give you a little chip of the cone which was nice. There's wasn't a ton of seating inside, but there was a huge patio outside which was nice. I'd come back!
I love jeni's!!!! The flavors are SO fun and delicious! It always smells amazing inside and the ice cream always hits. I also love how even when you get a little bowl, you get a side of waffle cone. AND free ice cream on your birthday! Also the non dairy options are such a nice addition.
The waffle cones have salt in the batter, which complements the ice cream well. The Banana Cream Pudding was underwhelming, as there were barely any vanilla wafer bits and the banana flavor wasn't strong. The Brambleberry Crisp was awesome. The little oat streusel chunks were so good and the berry swirl tasted fresh. There isn't much seating available inside, and there are a few tables outside.
I adore Jenis flavors, however the portion sizes are pretty small for the big price tag. I got their birthday cake and dulce de leche. The birthday cake is the best of its kind!
Yum. I tried two flavors, honey vanilla & brown butter almond brittle. Then I ordered two scoops in a waffle cone. So good. The waffle cones are made fresh, you can smell them as they are being created. The ice cream is rich and delicious. Didn't even matter that it was in the 40s outside, delicious and worth it.
Jeni's ice cream is such a mood changer. It had such different flavours that I had never even heard of. I tried a scoop of Goat Cheese with Red Cherries and a scoop of Brown Butter Almond Brittle. The service was quick and the server was quite patient while he let us choose what flavour we wanted and gave us multiple tasters. The ambiance was quite cute and they had outdoor seating too!
Delicious ice cream with the most scrumptious selection of unique flavors. I love their pints sold in grocery stores but there's something special about having it at the ice cream shop. I love this location because they have both (limited) indoor and outdoor shaded seating. They let you try their flavors before buying, which is always a nice service to offer.

Got my usual wild berry lavender and it was tasty as always, but we decided to try something new this time - rainbow, which was a flavorful burst of fruity sherbet. LOVED IT! Side note: We tried the new blueberry pancake one and didn't care for it - tasted like straight up maple, but wondering if I didn't get much blueberry on the taste spoon (which i LOVE) so may give another chance again.

Ice cream isn't just ice cream. It can be one of the best ways to ruin or make your whole day. This is especially true when you're grabbing late-night ice cream, which is exactly what we did! After a long day of exploring Chicago, we wandered in looking for a sweet treat. The seasonal Watermelon Taffy immediately caught our attention, and the employee suggested pairing it with the Summer Passionfruit flavor. What a fantastic recommendation, and she was very kind and patient! Both flavors were bright, refreshing, and surprisingly light. The Watermelon Taffy tasted like summer in frozen form, with sweet watermelon flavor and a nostalgic candy-like finish that was quite tart in a good way. The Summer Passionfruit beautifully meshed with the tartness of the watermelon taffy and added sweetness that followed through the bite. The ice cream itself was incredibly creamy and smooth without feeling heavy. Each bite melted slowly and left behind lingering fruit flavors! It was refreshing, flavorful, and exactly what we needed after a busy day of sightseeing! I also absolutely loved the adorable upstairs seating area. This was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. read more

Cute ice cream shop at a park in gold coast area!! They have seating inside and outside and we sat outside today since the weather was nice. This place kinda gave salt + straw vibes--there were 3 flavours that were seasonal and others seemed to be more permanent. They also let you try a bunch of different flavours and they come in cute little metal spoons. The guy serving us was very patient and let us try a lot of different flavours. I liked the gooey butter cake and the seasonal bubble gum flavour. The butter cake one had cake chunks that were fun and the ice cream was sweet and rich from the butter flavour but it wasn't overly decadent or artificial tasting. The bubble gum one was surprisingly fruity and not too sweet. I was expecting that super artificial hubba bubba type of flavour but it wasn't quite that (in a good way). read more

Such yummy flavors! The staff are really nice and let you try as many flavors as you want before deciding. Ended up getting their gooey butter cake and brown butter almond brittle. Those flavors were delicious but did get too sweet very quickly. I enjoyed the gooey butter cake more because they didn't skimp with the cake chunks. Their waffle bowls are nice and crispy. It's also a bit expensive - $9 for two tiny scoops and a waffle bowl, so you're paying more for the unique flavors. read more

This place was wonderful! The Ice cream was delicious and the staff were friendly and professional! We have a son that has an allergy and they offered to make him an "allergy scoop" where they went to go get a freshly washed scooper, got a special container of ice cream out of the freezer and wore gloves, we were so impressed with this!!! If you have someone with an allergy in your group this place will definitely help you out! read more
It's a chain but truly my favorite ice cream spot in the city. Service is quick and friendly, with some nice tables to sit outdoors. Still obsessed with the miso butterscotch brownie (?) that was a seasonal item. My other go-tos are the brambleberry crisp (so fresh) and brown butter. read more

3.5 stars. Jeni's ice cream has been a stop for me every time I've visited Chicago (which would be... twice.) It seems like one of the best ice cream shops in the area, if you're looking for some more unique flavors. FOOD // The ice cream is pricey for the size of the scoops - it's currently at $7 for the standard size (up to 2 scoops - see photo) - so I'd say it's more of a once-in-a-while treat. I ended up getting the Darkest Chocolate and the Brambleberry Crisp. Loved the Darkest Chocolate - it was super chocolate-y and bittersweet, which was a perfect dessert after the giant dinner we'd just consumed. I'd definitely get this again. The Brambleberry Crisp wasn't bad, but it didn't knock my socks off. It was a bit too sweet by the end of the scoop. Many of their other flavors also sounded super sweet to me (e.g. all the candy and cake-inspired flavors). SERVICE // I always appreciate getting to sample the flavors before picking which one to commit to. The staff member helping me was friendly and efficient. We ran here to make it after dinner and made it in a few minutes before they closed. They still helped us out even though we ended up going a little past closing time. AMBIANCE// Convenient location to visit from Magnificent Mile. I love all the windows in the storefront, which help make the space feel very open. The cobblestone area right outside had plenty of tables and chairs that were filled with groups chatting while enjoying their ice cream. read more
High quality ice cream, but would I wait 20-30 minutes in line for it? Probably wouldn't say it's worth it. A popular option here is the Brambleberry Crisp! It's a creamy blackberry ice cream with oats. Great flavor, but the texture wasn't my favorite. The Gooey Butter Cake was the best of the samples I tried! Very sweet and has the perfect amount of creaminess. HOWEVER - I will say, this ice cream is too sweet for my palate. After a couple bites, I was on a sugar high. I was excited to try the regular ice cream as I had picked up a pint of their vegan lemon bar at Whole Foods and was very impressed (it had lemon curd ribboned throughout along with chunks of shortbread). I was especially excited about the flavors they had in store as I love nostalgic options like bubblegum and root beer. However, the bubblegum tasted nothing like bubblegum (it tasted more like rose and coincidentally the cake better tasted more like bubblegum) and the root beer was so lightly sweetened it bordered on bitter. None of the flavors really had too much punch to them at all-- seemed subdued. I would not recommend waiting in line here-- if you want to try the ice cream go for the pint versions sold in stores and try the vegan lemon! THAT would have been worth waiting in line for. read more
Line was out the door, basically to the sidewalk. I waited around 15-20 min. They were just about to close and made it in before the lights were shut. My companion convinced me to get 3 scoops because "it was a good deal." Was it? It was only $.70 more. It was but their scoops are pretty small. They had no cones left but gave us extra wafers. It was alright but not as good as an actual cone. The flavors we got were Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks, Brambleberry Crisp, and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. The best one was the peanut butter. There is seating inside and outside. Overall, a good way to spend an evening in Downtown Chicago. read more
Run don't walk to your nearest Jeni's!!! If there is one thing you need to know it is DO NOT skip out on the waffle cone bowl. It melts in your mouth & it seriously so amazing. I'm obsessed. I loooovvee all of Jeni's unique flavors you can't find anywhere else. My favorite so far has been salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks. They rotate every few weeks which flavors are pints only, so don't be discouraged if you can't try a certain flavor in a bowl/cone because if you go back again in a few weeks it will most likely be available. There is normally a line out the door, but the service is great! They keep the line moving quickly. I have never waited for more than 10ish minutes. read more
