The desserts were okay. My husband got the Go Shorty. THAT was actually really good. He enjoyed it very much. And I'm happy to give the one star for this very reason. I got a Birthday Cookie. I think that's what it was called. It was a very NOT well made cookie with way too many sprinkles. And I got the carrot cake. I took one bite of the overly priced cake and didn't finish the rest. I will say that it IS pricey but it is also a HUGE piece. Which woulda been okay if it tasted good. And goodness. I love carrot cake. But not from here. I do believe in paying good money for good eats. I think what totally killed my experience was the service. We were here on the evening of the 28th of June, about 6:00. There was a pretty girl behind the counter and she was super sweet until she realize we didn't tip. But WHAT would we tip for? She gets paid hourly and there was no "service". But fine. Be unhappy. But please don't throw my plastic ware into the bag like you hate life. Be respectable of yourself and the place that employs you and... us. Your customers. A spectacular place to grab dessert from ice cream to cookies right across from the Mariott Hotel. We came here to get the infamous dessert tacos. There were a few others in the small space with us, but we didn't have to wait too long. I created my own taco with strawberry ice cream, Oreo crumbs, gummies, and sprinkles. We also got the Dubai dessert taco and a chocolate chip cookie. The dessert tacos are huge and stuffed with ice cream. The ice cream was smooth and creamy, but the gummies froze up and were hard to eat. The workers were nice and I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. read more

Ye Olde Ice Cream Cone was invented in 1896; hardly a new invention. Don't get me wrong, forming it into a taco shape gets some creativity points, but I don't see it as groundbreaking. Wanting something sweet and cold to end the night, I found this place on Yelp (surprise, surprise) and stopped in. I went for a Caramelo Anthony, because heaven knows I have a weakness for salted caramel. What did this end up being? The aforementioned taco-shaped cone with one side lightly coated in white chocolate, salted caramel gelato, a couple chocolate-covered pretzels, a singular Rolo piece, and some whipped cream. All this for ~$14, which wasn't specified on the menu, by the way. While I did like the Salted Caramel gelato, plus the uniqueness points. However, the value proposition is still not there for me. Thus, we are left with a solid dessert, but it still an overpriced gelato is a someone unusual vessel. I'm glad I went, but I do not see myself aching to return, especially with the many great ice cream & gelato spots in Chicago. read more

You will find this little dessert spot collocated with Parlor Pizza, if you want to sit at one of the restaurant's tables while you eat your treat, you will have to see the hostess. The shop does have a limited amount of bar seating along the wall. That is where I sat. The restaurant has ice cream (cones or cup), and cookies, but their most popular item is their TACOlato. They have a few signature TACOlatos. I got the Go Shorty. It was prepared withing 5 minutes and was sooooooooooo good. I will admit, it does get a bit messy, but nothing that a napkin can't fix. Parking near here is limited, and you may be able to find some street parking nearby. The staff there was friendly enough, but my interaction with them was limited though. All in all my treat was well worth it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This spot is definitely worth checking out. read more

We shared it as a family and while it was satisfying for an after dinner treat, it wasn't something I would go out of my way for. Their menu is limited but it's still good enough for me. The dessert tacos are huge, easily last me 2-4 meals. You can customize your tacolato or get one from the list. The go nuts and bananas are my absolute favorites. They don't shy away from loading your tacolato up with toppings. The seating is minimal but you can grab and go which is what I normally do. The choco-taco smore was filled with oreo ice cream and hershey chunks and was really rich and refreshing. Wow. Unfortunately it was closed. When we lost all hope a man from the pizza place connected to the Dessert Dealer told us it was the same and led us in side. The inside felt vary rustic, warm and welcoming. Our waiter quickly helped us and was incredibly nice. Then we ordered. I got the go nuts Ice Cream taco. It came out and was incredibly. The girl at the counter was so rude, she kept telling me they didn't have the items on their posted menu anymore. After she told me 3 items they "didn't have anymore" she told me, "That's why I always recommend looking at the QR code menu." But, she didn't recommend the QR code menu to me at all up until this point. It was $40 for 3 of the Tacolattos and it was mediocre.
