Great place if you want something sweet and in the moment. Tacos were $12 when I went and I wouldn't be surprised if they went up in price. They are absolutely worth it. I got the S'mores one and it was the perfect blend between Smokey and sweet. The staff was polite as always but it's a quick in and out service. The chocolate was rich and coupled perfectly with the vanilla ice cream.
Dessert Dealer continues to exceed expectations every time! Located inside of Parlor Pizza, this is a perfect spot for a large group to enjoy. My go-to, is the Oreo cheesecake, and it never fails to satisfy. Even on a busy summer evening, the service was impressively quick. While the portions are large, every bite is so delicious that you'll find yourself wanting to finish it all in one go. The Oreo cheesecake remains my absolute favorite, especially with that delightful scoop of gelato--it's like getting two desserts in one! It's definitely the perfect way to end your night out on the town.
I'm really big on my sweets. This is a very interesting concept and it catches the eye. The location was a bit tricky to navigate but it's located with Parlor Pizza Bar. I ordered the BYO Tacolato. Double chocolate shell, chocolate gelato, marshmallow fluff (which I just realized I didn't get), whipped cream, cookie crumbles, Oreo pieces and maraschino cherries. The shell was not good. I took two bites and I said no, not it. I even asked my niece about her shell (she ordered Cookie Monster) and she said hers was inedible. Maybe it's just the double chocolate that's not good. The chocolate gelato was good. I didn't receive any marshmallow fluff. When I ordered the cookie crumbles, I thought it would be like carvels cookie crumbles. Any other ice cream spot labels them as such. But this was broken up pieces of chocolate chip cookies. (Which, if the menu says Oreo cookie pieces, why not do the same with the chocolate chip cookies.) All in all, it was a fine spot to try out. I won't be back though.

If you're not looking for that experience perhaps see if you can get it in the dessert dealer door itself instead of entering the restaurant.

I got the Go Nuts dessert taco and it was flavorful. It had Ferraro Rochers, nutella, and hazelnuts everywhere. This is a rich taco and was perfect for 2 people to share in my opinion. The place was a bit loud even outside which was understandable since people were drinking and having a good time.
I consider dessert dealer as a dessert speakeasy. It's tucked away in a hidden spot right next to parlor pizza and is easy to miss. I love the concept of dessert tacos that they offer. So interesting! The place is really small with only outdoor seating. You can also order these at parlor pizza. The service is mostly fast. They have a great menu ranging from Strawberry shortcake dessert taco to smores dessert taco. The go nuts and the BANANAS tacos are my favorite. They both come loaded with lots of icecream and tons of great toppings. Love the desserts and these are perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth after having pizza next door.
No, your eyes aren't deceiving you- this IS a gelato taco. Yes, it was delicious. No, it did not last long. We got vanilla bean gelato with strawberries, bananas, m&ms, whipped cream, and a drizzle of fudge sauce all in a confetti sprinkle shell 10/10 dessert. 10/10 service. 10/10 experience.
This was my first time trying dessert from here. I liked how it was not too sweet but just perfect balance of sweetness. This is the cookie monster Tacolato which I will say was okay nothing extraordinary in taste. The staff is very nice and friendly and would definitely try it again sometime with a customised tacolato to see if it is a hit for me. The pizza parlour along with desert dealer does add to a cozy and raw ambiance to the place. Also, i ordered it to go and it was quickly prepared within 3-4 minutes and I enjoyed it by the riverside which added to the experience.

Topped with whipped cream, rolls, and chocolate pretzels then drizzled with caramel sauce. Honestly, presentation was trash. Toppings were all over the place. But I can't lie; it was tasty, despite being $12.

This place is connected to Parlor Pizza where you can get a table and eat pizza AND dessert. The actual Dessert Dealer is a small space for to-go desserts. I recommend getting a table at Parlor Pizza and ask for the dessert menu from Dessert Dealer. Service was phenomenal and the pizza was excellent. My group all got the custom BYO Tacolato. We will be back for sure! read more

It appears this place is part of Parlor Pizza? It was hard to tell since my receipt says "Parlor" instead of "Dessert Dealer". Navigating here was a bit interesting since this is possibly a ghost kitchen for the food delivery apps as we saw a number of drivers coming and going. Either way, we found our way here down the street from Au Cheval. Inside was just a small nook to order your ice cream to-go, and get out, so not much of a vibe to sit around and eat. Their concept is gelato + Chocotaco = Chocolato. We ordered the "BYO Tacolato" with cookies and cream on a white confetti taco shell. It was a bit difficult to eat it by hand like a true Chocotaco with all the toppings and ice cream melting down the sides, so it ended up being a glorified gelato sundae. Gelato itself was O-K, nothing special. Came here expecting an homage Chocotaco but was left a little disappointed for the price ($14). I'd stick with Salt & Straw if I want a (still expensive) Chocotaco. read more
We walked across the street to The Dessert Dealer and got their giant choco taco because WHY NOT!? And honestly thank GOD we did because it was INSANE. Stuffed, overloaded, messy in the best way possible, covered in whipped cream, chocolate, crunchy toppings... literally the perfect ending to the most unreal Cinco de Mayo dinner night The service was fine nothing to brag about it seemed like the cashier didn't want to be there at work she was young and on her phone she looked bored and the ambiance is okay honestly definitely better to enjoy it outside it felt cold inside. read more

we found this on a whim, trying to find some good dessert while visiting Chicago. We first couldn't find it as it was attached to a bar; a little spot that is definitely worth it. We split the Dubai chocolate pistachio taco. And it was delicious. Definitely recommend. And the gelato was delicious. read more

The staff and service are excellent. Five stars for them. The shop itself seats maybe two people. It's more of a pickup place. Nonetheless, there are unique ice cream options here, yet all taco-shaped. I don't recommend it because it is a novelty thing to try once. It is pricey and not satisfying. I could make it much better myself if I found a taco shell waffle cone somewhere. The flavors don't stand out. At least for the Unicorn one, I tried. The blue drizzle tastes like straight up blue food coloring and not flavorful. Yet it is that standard ice cream dip shops use, which isn't flavorful usually. However, I'm also not fond of cake with a ton of frosting. This isn't a cake, but it has lots of whipped cream on vanilla ice cream with the other stuff sprinkled. It's just not that flavorful. Whipped cream on vanilla doesn't make it tasty, at least to me. At least have strawberry ice cream or a combo or sherbet inside the shell. Maybe those are options, yet as the Unicorn order stands, it's just not worth it for $13. It's only worth trying once, and I will likely never try taco shell ice cream again because it's off my bucket list. read more
I am starting with OMG. I am so excited to share about this spot. I was looking for dessert after dinner and this came up. It was in walking distance so off we walked. It's attached to a pizza spot which was packed. I decided to build my own with cookies and cream, Oreos, Nutella, cherries and strawberries on a graham cracker shell. It was a short wait. The nice cashier brought it out to us. It was so good. I truly enjoyed every bite. I would definitely go back. The staff was nice. Fast service. Open late. Dessert was really good. Only question was about parking. It was packed over there and we walked from our initial spot. read more
Pricey but if you wanna go all out in dessert, then this is your spot. Not only can you build your own dessert taco (essentially a waffle cone shell with ice cream fillings and toppings), but you can also build your own ice cream cup (huge cup too!) if you prefer. We did both of course, but sadly some flavors/toppings were unavailable. Our total was around $22 to do the build your own options, but worth every bite! My creation was delectable - a scoop of birthday cake ice cream, salted caramel gelato, cookie dough topping and snickers topping. read more

Dessert Dealer will NOT disappoint. I came here after grabbing dinner in the west loop and wanted some ice cream. After a quick google search I seen Dessert Dealer was close so I wanted to stop and give it a try! It was a little difficult to find it as it tucked away behind the popular pizza restaurant Parlor. In finding it, I was immediately greeted by the staff. Due to social distancing I wasn't allowed in, however the employee directed me to their website to view the menu. and man was this menu LOADED from ice cream flavors, toppings, and waffle cone/ flavors. They are known for their 'Tacolato' which is basically an ice cream taco lol. On their menu they have standard Tacolatos, or you build your own. I ended up doing the 'Build Your Own' and I was not disappointed, with my ability to truly customize my dessert! I was able to pick the flavor of my shell, filling, ice cream flavor, and two toppings. I did the Graham Cracker Shell, Marshmallow Filling, Banana Fudge Ice Cream, and Heath and fresh Banana topping. this was A QUALITY dessert, rich and tasty and also Instagram worthy. I will absolutely be back! read more
The main draw of this place is the ice cream tacos. They are definitely IG worthy, however can be a little messy when actually eating and don't necessarily taste as good as they look. Would definitely recommend trying it if you're in the area looking for a unique dessert spot! read more

The atmosphere of walking into dessert dealer was really cool. Fom the almost unlabeled heavy black door to the small shop interior without much lighting, it almost felt like finding a secret. I got the unicorn dreams tacolato and from the presentation it was definitely very cute. I was expecting it to just be Instagram food though. The birthday cake ice cream was great, not too sweet and it was creamy. The candy toppings were stale and hard to chew but didn't overload the sweetness. The waffle taco shell was also perfect and buttery. read more
The Tacolacos here were more tasty than I was expecting (thought they would just be pretty)! Love that they use gelato. We split the Go nuts! ($12) which was a little pricey but a good portion for splitting. They are a bit difficult/messy to eat and can't be done on the go which makes it super unfortunate that the Dessert Dealer is only a store front counter with no space to eat. Basically they are just take-out or you can go to Parlor and order from there. We chose to go to Parlor and that was fine but was an awkward experience going to dessert dealer first which is really dark and uninviting. So just go to Parlor and order the Tacolaco! read more
It's still delicious, even in a to-go box. Dessert Dealer is my favorite dessert in Chicago because of just how good the deal is for their DIY ice cream tacos. Hidden inside Pizza Parlor, if we have a bit of luck, we can be seated at a table and enjoy our dessert there. It just happens that we weren't so lucky this time and had to take our sweets to-go, but it was still the same yummy ice cream I love. They're incredibly generous with the toppings, and there's something for everyone to love. The customization options are not too overwhelming but enough for everyone -- from the chocolate lover to the fruit fanatic, there's an ice cream, topping, cone taco shell, and drizzle flavor for all. This ice cram taco is big enough for two people to comfortably share, and will not leave you wishing you had more. Whenever I have someone visiting Chicago, I make it a huge point that we need to go to Dessert Dealer and enjoy the night there! Love the noise and crowd at Pizza Parlor, too. It just takes a while for them to get our order at times. read more

Their tacolatos are delicious. I made my own with banana fudge icecream. One bite of the icecream tasted like I was eating a banana split. Wide variety of toppings and candies, I chose marshmallow fluff, rolos and cookie dough. read more

The concept of a dessert concept is the cutest thing ever! I had never heard of one before and I thought it was such a fun thing to try! I wouldn't say it's my favorite way to enjoy ice cream but definitely the most fun way I've had it. read more
The staff were really nice. It looks really cool but it's basically like a coldstone creamery, except their waffle cones are shaped like a taco. It's honestly WAY too expensive for the simplicity. Also hard to find. It's apart of Pizza Parlor, on the back side. The door for it is under a black tent area with a door and a neon red sign in the window saying "taco". read more
If you are visiting Chicago you must come here for dessert. It is a must go to! I live in West loop and it is so hard to resist on the daily but whenever I have friends or family visiting or any excuse I come here. Everything is good, you can't go wrong however my favorite has to be the TACOlato Go Nuts with Ferrero Rocher. Also if you are ever looking for a good piece of cake highly recommend their carrot cake, it is done right. Following them on instagram is dangerous too. You will keep coming back for more. read more
