Ugh, I really wanted to love this place as I love all of Fabio's other spots but this one just missed the mark. The space itself feels a little empty, the decor is simply lacking. I was hoping to see the jars on display to get a better idea of what to order but instead a visual menu which was fine. I ordered the cookies and cream and the all chocolate one, both were tasty the all chocolate was better since the oreo one seemed like it was pre-made and just some parts added, the plastic spoons that they provide broke off in the oreo one it was so hard along the sides. Flavors are on point but execution missed the mark..

It was almost midnight when I started craving something sweet and luckily I found this place on Tik tok that stayed open until like 12-1am I believe. When we got there we were not disappointed at all but I will say parking is difficult to find we parked somewhere on the street with hopes that it was an actual spot . They have many different flavors in addition to seasonal flavors and cake pop flavors. My boo ordered a strawberry cake pop and personally I did not like it. The cake wasn't cooked all the way it was very doughy to me. The jars on the other hand were so good . He got the Nutella chocolate one and I got a Tres leches. The Nutella was pretty good it wasn't overbearing with all of the chocolate but I do wish it had a more Nutella taste instead of like a chocolate pudding type of taste. The Tres Leches was sooo good and the cake was so soft . 10/10 definitely recommend

I was craving something sweet while waiting for a friend. I saw other people eating mini cups of what looked like cake so I decided to try one. I didn't realize it was much larger in size. I received nice customer service. It's not a place to really sit and eat so can't say much about ambiance. The cake I had was good. I agree as others have said, I think the price is a little high for what you get.

Order through Door Dash! I ordered a strawberry shortcake, cookies and cream and a tres leche jar. They weren't bad I was just underwhelmed. The cakes used for the jars were bland. The pudding as well. Maybe more vanilla or something to elevate the flavors of the pudding should be added. The strawberry shortcake had white sponge cake, sweet strawberries, rainbow sprinkles, with Vanilla sweet cream soft serve. This was the best one to me. The vanilla sweet cream soft serve had good flavor and the sweet strawberry syrup complemented the dessert well. The cake was far from sponge cake. It was dense, no spongey texture at all. The ice cream and strawberry syrup saved it! The Oreo cookies and cream was second best. The Oreo cookies saved it. The Tres Leche Jar tasted nothing like Tres Leche! The Tres Leche Jar came with sponge cake, I didn't see nor taste any caramel!! Cute concept, nice size and inexpensive...I would only order the strawberry shortcake one again if push came to shove!

So many thoughts for my "quick" drop in... not good ones. The sweet treats are pretty good. They were good but maybe not for the cost. Definitely not worth the customer service we received. Customer service is EVERYTHING. I've stated this MANY times within my reviews. The food could be mediocre but if the service is good then I'm okay. But just no. Not here. I think maybe they just need more training. She was cute but young. My son and I enter. It takes a a bit to be greeted. We're told ALL ordering can be done electronically at there little set up. Then she leaves us. That's fine. It's our first time so we wanted time to look to see what we would want. We had questions. We called out... hello? Several times. She comes out (annoyed) answers our questions then leaves again. Again. Fine. (I looked over at my son and asked to Google what time they close. Cuz I understand trying to get out and done if it's close to closing time. I'm really not one of those customers. I will leave because I do believe that's rude. But it was 8:00. They close at TEN.) We got our questions answered and we're still deciding. Someone comes in for a pick up order. NOBODY comes to greet him. I make small talk with him and ask him if he needs service. So I help him out and call out. HELLO. Several times. Someone comes and helps him. Then leaves. We're ready to order. We go to their little set up to order but I wanted a cake pop which is NOT listed on their machine. So... HELLO. Again. She comes and was all like... oh yeah. Those I have to take care of here at the register. #palmtoforehead I just can't. We had a wonderful dinner in the city and I just wanted something sweet and I really wish we had gone somewhere else. The place is clean. City street parking. Crazy parking situation cuz it was a Saturday night. IYKYK So... go for the sweets. They really were decent. But the service isn't worth it TO ME. My son got the Oreo Cookies and Cream soft serve. I got a Classic Bananas and Cream Pie and a cute little cake pop. These aren't tiny cake pops like at Starbies. It's a CAKE POP. And super yummy.

Just came here the lady at the counter was extremely rude and unwelcoming , aswell as there being no ice cream and several other menu items

I underestimated Jars BIG TIME! This place was phenomenal, enough said. Even though the price was up there, the quality of the dessert was to die for. I can't speak highly enough about my experience and the enjoyment I had eating the food. Good area as well! You could hangout anywhere nearby and enjoy your dessert. I ordered the Double Chocolate fudge and the Very Very Blueberry Cheesecake. If you don't know what to get, I feel like everything is safe to try, you'll have a good time either way. Thank you Fabio Viviani and Jars, I'll be back soon! Personal Review: 8.9/10

    Mold in cakesicle
    Lupita K.

While the service was great, we got a banana cakesicle and the inside was moldy. I'm a baker and have been making cakepops for almost 15 years.... For it to achieve that kind of mold means it either should always be refrigerated in presentation AND labeling OR it's been sitting there for weeks. Plural. Im not sure which answer is better because either means they aren't practicing good standards. Gross.

This place is near Fulton Market and it provided a nice quick dessert option for us. The concept is different type of desserts in a jar with a bit of a fun funky vibe. It's a walk in and place order on a machine kind of place, but it fits them and this area well. I'd also say it's pretty low key with some elements to make it instagramable. I got the tiramisu and it kind of felt like tiramisu meets banana pudding, which was amazing because I was debating on the two. The tiramisu had great texture and very flavorful. The topping and the chocolate chips on the side of the jar is what pushed it over for me. The wafers were like lady fingers but with a crunch that I liked that I sometimes is missing in tiramisu normally. The outside with the icing of chocolate chips also was great, it add led texture and a bit of an element of surprise for me.

    Tikku G.

A pretty solid dessert spot. Love the concept of it. Tried the banana cream pie version. The wafers were a bit soggy but I guess that is to be expected. A little pricy for the size but I guess it is a novelty.

    tres leches or strawberry shortcake?
    Nazia C.

I like to come here for dessert after having dinner around Fulton Market. It's cake in a jar layered with pudding or custard. I've only ever taken my orders to go, so I don't even know if you can eat in there; they don't have seating. The cakes/desserts aren't traditional, so just keep that in mind. For example, I had a tres leches (which I'm not sure now if they gave something else), and it was cake layered with custard, but it has no leches lol. Still good though. The banana pudding is delightful. My husband tried the tiramisu and said it was delicious, but the only tiramisu part is that there were lady fingers in the layers.

Happy Teens with French Vanilla Cake

This reminded me of the little parfait buckets KFC (Kentucky fried chicken) used to sell. So cute! The perfect little dessert option after pigging out at the fancy Fulton market restaurants in the area. We had brunch at Duck Duck Goat and decided to check this place out for a little parfait with ice cream seeing as though the teens were with us. We ordered the French Vanilla Cake which comes with ice cream and the red velvet cake with ice cream. Cute and quick to eat. I want to try to all the flavors! We will be back...

Full disclosure: 1. I am not a dessert person. It's not that I don't like dessert, I just don't gravitate towards them. I have ordered dessert in the past, but it is not something I do with every meal. 2. If I do dessert, there must be bubbles, no exceptions. 3. I do not watch Top Chef, so I had no idea who Chef Fabio Viviani was beyond Bar Siena here in Chicago and Skokie. I thought that was his world....was I ever wrong! First let me start off with saying that the physical space is not set up for dine it. It is definitely a place your order and leave joint. There are kiosks where you can place your order as well as an app that you can download onto your phone to place orders. Ordering was quick and easy and I might add fast. Considering that the business had only been opened for six days, I am going to say that they were operating like a well oiled business. The space itself would have an open feel to it if it had not been packed to the gills with Black and Gold Yelp Elite. Colors are nice and with the windows I imagine you get a lot of natural light during the day. Selections of the desserts are displayed on brightly lit display signs behind the counter, with the main display showing the limited specials being offered. It seems like everyone is doing something in a jar these days, especially desserts. But here is where JARS and Chef Fabio get it right: 1. The JARS themselves are made to order. According to Chef Fabio, they will be rotating through 150 different flavors. I love that they had the soft serve version as well. Would like to try that but didn't want to deal with melting ice cream since I was not planning on eating the dessert right then and there. 2. The size is pretty decent for a "jar", which is a plastic container. A lot of places I have gone to that are doing jar desserts are pretty much serving them in shot glass size containers or something a little bigger. The jars here are of a good size where you feel like you are getting a serving of a dessert. Some of the items were colorfully decorated with creams, cookies, and candies. Presentation-wise, they look attractive. 3. The carry out box they have is very nice. It is designed like a cup holder, so for a box of eight, each dessert goes into its own slot. The box is deep enough that the top of the box does not smash the dessert. I got six to go plus my free one from the event. I was able to make it home with minimum damage to the desserts beyond a little bit of the decorations falling off and I am sure that was because the box was on the floor of the car as I was driving. 4. Flavors were nice and clean, so the combination of different flavors and textures came through. The Cherry Pie one was delish, but I removed the cotton candy halo from it and gave it to The Queen. That was too much for me, but she loved it. Visually it was striking and reminded me of the Cotton Candy martini at Carnivale. 5. Prices were definitely good considering that this is a downtown location and based on the size. The most expensive item on the menu was $6.99. When you compare that to the cost of a Stan's Donut, it is good value for the dollar. 6. I love the tie in to buying a jar and the business giving back to the community. Fabio works with local food pantries to provide hot meals to those in need, so for every jar that is purchased, it goes towards providing a meal. That alone would make me come back to purchase jars. Side note to the evening, Chef Fabio was talking about the limited special jar which was a cannoli in a jar. He referenced Goodfella with the quote of "take the cannoli", but that was from the Godfather. I laughed because I mentioned to him that he had the wrong movie because Clemenza kills Paulie because he was a part of the set-up to kill Don Corleone. A bit of history, this line was not in the script but completely improvised and I love it. The concept was the same for this jar as you can take it go. This was a great event and a great way to introduce this business. The flavors of the desserts, the flowing bubbles and the giving back to the community give this event five stars. I wish them well. And like Arnold, I will be back.

There are tons of people ordering at the counter as well as a line outside the door. They were really busy and I think they might've needed a few more workers. Orders were piling in from the kiosk as well as the counter. We ended up ordering the Ube taiyaki fish as well as an Ube ice cream soft serve in a cup. Man, I remember last time I came here. I got the Ube Matcha float and my friend got the Matcha milk tea with tapioca and those two desserts didn't seem like too much, however, this time when I came, these desserts are a lot. I kind of wish we'd ordered just one of them, but we live like we're rich #yolo. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly.
