Nutella flavored coffee A bit crowded and wait time can be long. Have many other nutella flavored dishes
I was really excited to visit the Nutella Café, but unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing experiences of our Chicago trip. From the moment we walked in, the café was extremely disorganized. There were long lines that barely moved, yet it wasn't clear why. There was no visible menu, making it difficult to decide what to order while waiting. The staff appeared overwhelmed and worked at a very slow pace. Even more concerning, the employees who appeared to be supervisors (wearing black shirts) were nowhere to be found. The manager was sitting on a laptop and seemed completely unaware of the chaos unfolding around him. We waited over 20 minutes for just three items. When I finally approached the manager, he explained that every order goes through a single system or ticket, which is why everything takes so long. After walking over to the kitchen, he looked at the pile of orders with an expression that clearly said, "Wow, they're backed up," and only then decided to jump in and help. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the wait. * The cold hot chocolate was bland, not sweet, and had very little chocolate flavor. * The raspberry Danish was cold, dry, and tasted stale. * The banana bread was actually good, but it was served cold instead of warm. To make matters worse, the café was uncomfortably hot, with little to no air conditioning, and we couldn't find a single trash can in the dining area. Overall, this location suffers from poor leadership, a lack of organization, and disappointing food quality. A café carrying the Nutella name should provide a much better experience than this. I left feeling frustrated and would not recommend it unless significant improvements are made. Pros: * Banana bread had good flavor (although it should have been served warm). Cons: * Extremely long wait * Poor organization * No visible menu * Weak management and leadership * Slow, unprofessional service * Bland hot chocolate * Dry, stale pastry * Hot dining area with no noticeable A/C * No visible trash cans I expected a fun, memorable experience. Instead, it was one of the most poorly managed cafés I've visited.
Very cute and clean location on Michigan Ave! Had no idea Nutella Cafe existed so this was a great after dinner treat! We had the hot cocoa which was rich, decadent and delicious! It's really nice because you get a cute Nutella biscuit cookie on top of your drink! We shared the grilled banana bread and a croissant, of course infused with Nutella! Both were delightful! The staff were great and friendly. They were working hard to keep the dining area spotless! It was nice to see! You can get a custom jar of Nutella with your name on it. That's cool! A great gift idea. Duly noted for the future!
I had to try out the famous Nutella cafe. Since it's the only one in the whole wide world it was like a no brainer. We walked there and it was really empty. We ordered the crepe with bananas. The flavor and taste was just like it's suppose to be Nutella and banana. You first start by choosing your base of crepe, waffle or pancake. And then each topping you add will be an additional cost. For a banana crepe it was about $12. Which is not bad. But compared to genki in San Francisco I feel like with that price it came with ice cream and fruits.
July 22, 2026 at 9:36 AM On July 22, we arrived around 9:30 and placed our order, only to be informed about 15 minutes later that they were out of pretty much everything we had ordered. Since we were a party of four, we decided to cancel our order and request a refund. The manager told us that we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come and process the refund. We were then informed that this location does not issue refunds directly. We waited another 15 minutes, and after about half an hour, they still couldn't figure out how to process the refund. They eventually sent us home and told us they would take care of it. We have called several times since then, and every time we're given the same response that the refund will be processed. It has now been more than three weeks, and we still have not received our money. This has been a very disappointing experience, especially because of the lack of communication and follow-through. If you take someone's money, you should make sure their refund is processed in a timely manner.
Super fun and a must-stop if you're a nutella fan!! Walking distance from The Bean and right on the Riverwalk. If anything, go for the hot chocolate (tastes like liquid Nutella its amazing) and the mixed fruits w Nutella as well! It gets a bit busy so keep an eye our for people leaving their tables (theres 2 sections) and grab a seat! It has a very Times Square cafe feel when you're in it. Would definitely go again!
My friends and I stopped here on a cold December evening as we were walking back to our hotel from Millennium Park. It was nice to be able to warm up for a few minutes. We ordered the Nutella Banana Bread and the Nutella Fruit Bowl along with some hot chocolate. It was all excellent. If you are looking for a little sweet fix at night, this is a great option.
Very cool cafe! Line could get long, but it does go by pretty quickly. we waited for about 15 minutes before getting seated by the host. We ordered the Nutella Gelato and Liege Waffle. They were super sweet but really delicious. I think this cafe was more for the experience than really trying out the food. The food wasn't anything surprising as they are somewhat simple dishes. Overall, the experience was still very pleasant but I don't see this as a reoccurring cafe to go to when you're in Chicago.
I wanted to try this place mostly out of curiosity. It definitely felt more like a tourist trap. There was a really long line to get in and order, and the inside was super crowded, and we were lucky to be able to find a seat. Overall, it was alright and nothing particularly exceptional. A lot of the menu felt like things you could make at home with a jar of Nutella and some basic ingredients. We got the Nutella waffle with bananas and blackberries, and it honestly just tasted like a normal waffle with fruit and a drizzle of Nutella. The Nutella hot chocolate was okay too - basically a standard hot chocolate with some Nutella mixed in. The standout for me was the Nutella gelato. It was actually shockingly good. The Nutella flavor was much stronger and more pronounced, and it felt more unique compared to everything else we tried. Might be a cool place if you're from out of town, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip for it.

There seems to aaaalways be a line outside, and it always seems like it barely moves. Then you're finally beckoned inside, and there's another line that barely moves. Some of that is because customers sit down and hang out at tables for a while, but some of that seems to be the painstakingly slow ordering mechanism. There's one cashier for taking orders and making the customized Nutella sticker, which requires confirmation of the lettering and printing out the sticker. I didn't have super high expectations for the Nutella crepe, but I was pleasantly surprised. The toppings all incur an additional charge, and we opted for strawberries, Nutella whipped cream, and Nutella gelato. The crepe itself was nicely thin and elastic, quite well cooked. The strawberries were ripe and sweet, and though I wish there were more, the quality was quite nice. The Nutella gelato was super thick and creamy, and it was really a punch of Nutella flavor. The Nutella whipped cream was much lighter in comparison, but still tasted nicely of Nutella that thickened the whipped cream a bit. And of course, the Nutella sauce and drizzle completed the Nutella overload, lending waves of hazelnut and chocolate to every bite. Definitely a decadent treat I'd come back for, though the wait time is a serious deterrent.

Where do we start? The line is mismanaged as all hell, you have people waiting for an indeterminate amount of time outside with no update as to when people will be allowed in. They have room inside, but won't let people in over what I'm assuming is an attempt to keep the indoors less crowded. Once you're finally in you realize how much the place is in disarray, more specifically the spacing of things inside. It is obviously gimmicky, in a way that's more disappointing than fun. The menu is super small, Nutella focused of course, but there's not really anything interesting on it. The workers look like they would rather be tortured than working there. Anyways, we ordered the Nutella crepe with strawberries and an Iced Nutella Mocha Latte. Crepe? Sucked. Latte? Sucked more than the crepe. The crepe was doughy to the point it didn't feel properly cooked. Coming from an avid mutella crepe connoisseur, it was disappointing that THE Nutella Cafe flopped in comparison to any other crepe place. The latte was like drinking tar that came out of a pipe a mile away from a Nutella factory. Skip this place, it is so obviously a poor cash grab capitalizing on European tourism to Chicago.
The highlight of Nutella Cafe Chicago is definitely that you can personalize the Nutella label with your name! Such a fun and unique touch, especially if you're visiting Chicago and want a little souvenir. I ordered the iced mocha latte with Nutella, and it was really good, but it took about 15 minutes to prepare even though it wasn't busy. I actually tried to visit the day before in the afternoon, and although the line wasn't crazy, it barely moved, so I decided to come back the next morning. My advice: go early in the morning if you want to avoid long waits. Overall, it's a fun stop for Nutella fans, especially for the personalized jar! read more

I came here with my sister 2 years ago. This year I came with my kids and my wife and it has been absolutely horrible since they opened up again. The service is awful , it's like you are doing them a favor for being here. The displays are gone. The food was meh, they ran out of half of their menu. Even the person that was assisting to make the personalized Nutella was rude. It was dirty inside and outside. I think the only nice person was the hostess. read more

I was really looking forward to this experience. I love Nutella and this was something different. We came there around 9:15pm and there was a line - no problem. They close at 10pm and let the line know that they will not be offering dining in after 9:30pm. So if you are in the line, you will need to do a to-go. This also was not a problem with me. I understand they want to go home and I came late. I finally got in and we did the ordering on the kiosk. They were out of a lot of things but again, it was the end of the night so that was to be expected. They didn't have anything posted - as far as I could see - or giving any menus BEFORE ordering at a table or to-go which would have made the experience quicker. What I really had a problem with was the orders. I ordered a fruit plate with Nutella and my husband ordered a scoop of ice cream with Nutella. They literally gave him the tiniest scoop of ice cream I ever saw, with barely any Nutella. This tiny cup was over $8. You could have ate it in 1 spoonful - not even kidding. The fruit plate itself was a decent size with very fresh fruit but again, barely any Nutella. I believe the fruit plate was $12 or $13. The whole purpose of the cafe is NUTELLA, yet they barely give you any. Overall, it was alright. You could make any of these items at home with a jar of Nutella. I wouldn't recommend or go back - just do it yourself. read more

In Chicago I knew I had to try the Nutella cafe, we got up super early to go and try it out, the line got long but we were first in line, we first get it staff was nice and let us in, we started ordering. I order a Nutella crepe with strawberries and since it was cold I also got a hot chocolate and let me tell you it was delicious the food was to die for, it was worth the waiting in the cold, the place was super clean and I loved that they brought everything to you and once finished they would pick it up for you as well, it was very calm, I believe if had 2 floors which we didn't get to see but I loved the place and think it's a very cute spot to visit. read more

I was excited to try this place because who doesn't love Nutella? But I dont think they delivered.. walked in and there was no line so when i ordered, the girl taking my ordered moved very slow and didnt really have costumer service skills.. she spoke like she really didn't want to be there. It was really cute inside but also very small with not a lot of seating for a popular touristy location. I ordered a waffle with Nutella and it didnt have much Nutella on it so I asked for extra and Nutella whipped cream. I also ordered an ice Nutella cocoa. The waffle was good but i did feel i over did it on the Nutella. And I also felt like maybe the Nutella wasn't that great of quality, like it was almost watered down in flavor.. the nutella whipped cream was also a let down, not much Nutella in it. Ans the Nutella cocoa was just milk, not a hint of Nutella in the flavor. I also ordered a jar of Nutella with my name, that was honestly so cute and the best thing I got there! Overall, its over hyped.. nothing really special.. save your time and money and enjoy your Nutella at home. read more
As a Nutella lover who's been wanting to visit the Nutella Cafe for over two years now - I wanted to love this spot. Instead it's more of a one and done tourist trap to me. After standing in line late on a Monday morning (which I wasn't expecting a long line on a weekday) for over an hour my friends and I finally were ushered inside the cafe (which wasn't even crazy crowded inside so i dont understand the line) only to wait in line yet again for about another 10 minutes before making it to the counter to place our orders. I went with the nutella crepe, topped with nutella gelato as well as the nutella croissant french toast with nutella whipped cream. (so basically dessert for breakfast) We opted to sit outside in the underutilized patio dining area in front of the cafe. There were some mix-ups with our orders when they were coming out but it was quickly rectified. The food was all tasty but nothing worth waiting in line over an hour for. The crepe was good but kinda greasy and the croissant french toast while not bad was definitely an interesting kind of different. All in all - if you love Nutella....you gotta check it out. But temper your expectations and expect a line! read more
What a cute little cafe right in dowtown Chicago! We had a fabulous experience there enjoying delicious Nutella topped crepes and Nutella filled biscuits in a super cute Nutella decorated cafe! The food was delicious and the service super friendly! They even gave us a few extra biscuits. read more
I didn't know a Nutella Cafe existed, let alone it's in Chicago. It was nicely decorated and clean. They have a lot on the menu. I had breakfast, so did my daughter. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice. I had pancakes and they were good! My daughter enjoyed her pancakes as well. They have hot and cold coffee drinks. Would I return here? Yes, if visiting Chicago again I would. The waitstaff are friendly and helpful. You have to try it , especially if Nutella was your childhood favorite! read more

Conveniently located on Michigan Avenue, I went in to see what the fuss was about. I love Nutella and a cafe sounds like something dreams are made of but the menu is rather limited and the interior of the cafe has seen better days. Still a cool concept. I'll try again in summer when I can indulge in gelato without getting frostbite. read more

Nuts about Nutella! This is the first original location for the Nutella cafe and coffee bar concept and it's so cute! This place was easy to find on iconic Michigan avenue. We arrived at 9:30am and line was already outside for about 20min wait. Inside has small seating and there is an outside patio. They have limited merch like a mug. I would've loved a Nutella engraved knife. The menu is carefully crafted around the hazelnut goodness. The BYO crepe, waffle, pancakes, French toast, yogurt parfait, or chia hemp seed pudding is unique. You can personalize a 13oz Nutella jar $8.49 which they use a printer and slap it on. It's pretty cool to have your name on your own Nutella. Now they are just missing the Nutella ice cream! Food/Drinks: - Croissant with Nutella - Panzanella - pound cake with Greek yogurt and fruit yum! - Espresso Gourmet - tiny cute - Nutella Mocha Latte read more
Lots of seating but still better to come first thing in the morning. Service is quick and there are lots of options for every extreme Nutella-holic. I picked up some customized jars for gifts and grabbed an espresso, which came drenched in whipped cream and Nutella and came with a little Nutella cookie on the side. Not cheap, but a fun spot to check out if you're in the area. read more

We visited Nutella Cafe and it was such a sweet and fun experience, especially for my daughter. The place is very cute and perfect for anyone who loves Nutella. You can find everything made with Nutella, desserts, drinks, and treats and of course, you will definitely enjoy Nutella in many different ways. It's a great spot for families and anyone with a sweet tooth. The atmosphere is fun and lively, and it's a nice place to visit when you're in Chicago. We had a great time! read more
The Nutella is a cute little cafe adventure to visit when you are visiting chicago. I will say the service was pretty good overall but it did move quite slowly. I ordered a small hot chocolate which was good but nothing to gloat about, I would go again on a less busy day as the wait outside was about 15 minutes and another 10 once going inside. read more
We showed up and saw the customization option for the Nutella and were sold. There was a little bit of a queue but wasn't too long. Lots of photo opportunities available and decently priced for desserts. Fun thing to do for Nutella lovers . read more

First time in Chicago and I'll be honest, I had no idea a Nutella cafe existed. So, of course, we had to stop by! The line was pretty long. It was a long wait in the line and a long wait for our order, but I can honestly say it was worth it. The hot chocolate was amazing, and the biscuits were warmed to perfection. It really was perfect for a cold Chicago day! The cafe does get busy pretty quickly and I think it's busy no matter what time of day it is, so you just have to be lucky, tbh. But we enjoyed our food! I highly recommend this place! read more

I came here around 10:15 am on a Friday and there was a line. I waited about 25 minutes before being let inside, but I'm sure if I had a larger party, the wait would've been closer to an hour. I ordered the crepe with strawberry and banana slices. My crepe came out pretty fast and as soon as I took a bite, I knew the reason why. The crepe was unfortunately cold. This is definitely just a touristy spot only, so I wouldn't expect quality crepes. read more

My best friend and I stopped in for a nice meal. Granted we waited a long time, so by the time we did eat we were starving. However, the food was good. There is a large selection of everything and we nearly order everything they had - but all that we got was delicious - from savory to sweet and drinks as well. We visited over Labor Day weekend, which probably explains the long lines to get in. After skipping it a few times, we finally went in the evening and the line was shorter .. about a 30-minute wait. Totally worth it! Hands down the best crepe I've ever had. I went all out with the Nutella crepe loaded with bananas, strawberries, Nutella cream, and Nutella ice cream...pure heaven! I'm already dreaming of going back. Plus, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you are a Nutella lover, stop here! read more
So happy that I beat the crowd and the usual LONG line. Perfect time to sneak away from work and have a really good breakfast. Service with a friendly smile and the food is always made fresh to order. There are many Nutella photo opportunities. The sweet smell of Nutella is intoxicating in a good way. I enjoy the croissant french toast; warm and buttery with fresh berries and a drizzle of Nutella. I also get a side of Nutella whipped cream. It's the best! Thank me later. My medium hot chocolate comes with a Nutella cookie! Delish! On my next visit, I may try something different. We'll see. Lol. read more

This place is truly worth the wait. You must get the Nutella whipped cream - it's the only place in the world you can get it. Yes, you wait outside but honestly it was worth it to me. Inside it's bright, light, and great space to linger and enjoy your time. We were hanging out and then Jill, the manager struck up a friendly conversation with us. It wasn't until later in the convo did we find out she was indeed the woman leading this amazing business, but it was spectacular. We also met Tony, he was a gem as well. We got a crepe, strawberries with Nutella, and the Espresso Gourmet. All 5 stars. Can't wait to be in Chicago again to enjoy it! read more
While visiting Chicago with my family, we stumbled across the Nutella Cafe on iconic Michigan Avenue. Well, I love Nutella! So coming across this gem brought happiness to my day! The crepe with Nutella, blueberries and strawberries was beyond delicious making my mouth and belly sing as I devoured this delicacy. The Nutella spread was warm with a delicious balance of the cool blueberries and strawberries on the moist crepe. The restaurant had multiple photo ops throughout including a giant tub of Nutella that I had to hug! My only complaint is the amount of time it took to get inside the restaurant to place my order since they had only one cashier taking orders. I can only hope that a Nutella Cafe comes to my hometown soon! read more

Hi. No there no reservations, you B have to make a line if there's a lot of people the line starts on the street until there's capacity, but the line moves pretty fast!

I did not see any pets inside, Lots of people inside the store on the weekends.

Hi Tammy, the cafe is wheelchair accessible from the E Lake Street entrance.
Will there be a Nutella Gift Shop inside the Cafe`?
Yes, there are now gifts inside. Coffee mugs, tumblers, tiny jars of Nutella, thumb drives made to look like tiny jars of Nutella, large tins shaped like a Nutella jar with spreading accessories inside, custom jar labels, etc.
