I love Jeni's. It always smells amazing in here. I'm not a huge ice cream fan, but if I'm gonna eat ice cream, I'll go to Jeni's. It's always fun to check out their new unique flavors. Don't be afraid to ask for samples to help you decide out of all the delicious flavors! I went with two flavors because I couldn't pick between the two: queen charlotte sponge cake and frosted sugar cookie. I love cake batter/flavored ice cream, ice cream with cake chunks, and fruit ice cream, so both flavors were perfect for me. The frosted sugar cookie tasted like cream cheese frosting and the queen charlotte tasted like very sweet raspberry and had cake chunks. So delicious.

Came in for my free birthday scoop and got to try the Ted Lasso collab flavor and the strawberry pretzel. Also tried the hibiscus chili crunch which tasted great but the spicy after taste really got me. Service was fast and efficient.

I came by close to closing on a Saturday night, and was served right away. There were plenty of tables and the inside was clean. I got a scoop of Double Dough and Birthday Cake, and both were delicious.

Darkest chocolate/mixed berry passion fruit in a waffle cup

Tasted a whole bunch of flavors before landing on our combo of Darkest Chocolate (way more chocolatey than your average chocolate ice cream) and Mixed Berry Passion Fruit. Served up in a waffle cup, it was one of the most delicious ice cream treats I've had in a long time. Jeni's can often be a little on the sweet side for my tastes, but this combo hit the spot perfectly. And the service was friendly and patient. Great spot for some adventurous flavors and new twists on the old ones.

Jeni's is always a good place to grab quality ice cream. I will say that prices have gone up. I enjoy scoop or two but now eating out is starting to become a treat. On this occasion, I got the Darkest Chocolate and Ooey Buttercake in a bowl. The ice cream was good as usual. Marked this location down to 4 stars as the sitting area was not very clean and the staff were welcoming. The bathroom was clean!!! Maybe because only two people working, then didn't have time to wipe down the tapes.

A good sweet treat after dinner! Lots of unique flavors. Ice cream is not super sweet which I love. The little waffle cone crisp is also a nice touch. The workers are always super friendly, and it's always a quick line. A Chicago dessert staple!

They were okay. Service was sweet. The ice cream was just ice cream. Nothing spectacular but absolutely nothing bad. The interior vibe was a VIBE. City Street Parking. IYKYK

I went here with my cousin last week after dinner. It was my 1st time trying Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream and I was amazed! I got 1 scoop of Gooey Butter Cake and 1 scoop of Pistachio. My cousin got 2 scoops of Chocolate. The staff were friendly and the ambiance was nice & spacey for us to enjoy our ice cream.

The best ice cream in Chicago. The Logan Square spot has a cozy feel that wasn't too crowded or too empty. I got a trio, but I HIGHLY recommend the coffee flavor. Regardless of what you get, everything here is a home run. Staff was friendly and patience with samples. Go with your friends or on a cute date! - AD

Darkest chocolate with fly by jing chili crisp (also salty caramel and vanilla)

You know an ice cream spot is good when the line is out the door! Every time we go to Jeni's we can smell the fresh waffle cones when we open the door. It's definitely worth the wait, the ice cream is one of the most premium ice creams you can get. And even when you get the ice cream in a cup they give a little chip of the waffle cone. There are a small amount of seats inside so if you're lucky you can get a table. I came by to try their fly by jing spicy chili crisp limited time promotion. I got the double chocolate, salty caramel, and vanilla as a base. Surprisingly the chocolate was my favorite. The chili crisp has such a strong flavor that went well with the deep bitterness of the chocolate. The vanilla was a bit too plain of a flavor and did not balance as well with the chili crisp. Note that you can also ask for the chili crisp on the side! They seem to give more that way. It's a very strong flavor though so you don't need much. They also serve pints of ice cream to go. The workers are pretty friendly and can help you decide which flavors to get if you need help choosing.

Yum! I love Jeni's ice cream and it's a must stop for me when I'm in Chicago. I l love that you can try samples before you select what flavor you want, the standard size comes with 2 flavors and you get a fresh waffle piece on every ice cream so no need to upgrade to the waffle bowl! The seasonal flavors are always great and my favorite are the brambleberry crisp and the darkest chocolate! It's the ultimate treat on a hot day!

Great service and selections at this location. Absolutely loved the chocolate peanut butter ice cream. You can expect to pay a higher rate than most other ice cream places for this artisanal ice cream, but it's well worth it.

This is always a great spot to stop by for ice cream! There are so many unique flavors and the service and atmosphere are always great! I sometimes don't crave too heavy of flavors here (which they are great at making if you are looking to indulge!) but they always have a few lighter flavors that I can enjoy. There are also gluten- and dairy-free options for those interested! They have a ton of take-home pints as well.

Ask the Community - Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

Isn't it a bit outrageous when we're charged an extra $3 for a separate paper cup due to a nut allergy?

That shouldn't have happened! We aren't meant to charge extra for allergy scoops nor paper cups, what is being charged the last couple of months are the sample spoons, people if we tend to see that the spoons are being used and aren't being brought…

Is there anything vegan here?

Yes! The Dark Chocolate Truffle, Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet, and Blackcurrant Lambic Sorbet (last 2 are seasonal, not sure if they'll be there right now)

And honestly, I think a stop here for all future visits to Wicker Park now rely on this condition being met! While the baked goods are where it is at, the smell alone was worth selling itself. After we got a few whiffs, we made out way to the counter and did the ole "Ill take that, and this, oh and that too..." and ended up with a wide variety of cookies, tarts, danishes and cakes. All of which were absolutely delightful! Out of our haul, the peanut butter cookie was the highlight for me, and the raspberry crumble bar was it for my partner. Everything in between was delish, but a few things definitely stood out! Service was stellar from entry to exit. They knew we were newbies, so they helped us pick the best of the best. The space is gorgeous, bright, welcoming and classic. They definitely let the baked goods be just as much a part of the decor as the actual artwork. Overall, I get it now...Mindy's was impressive in all the right ways and is certainly a staple for all Chicago trips in the future!

Both Bialays are a perfect savory treat!  I can't wait to come back and try more of the baked goods, especially the coffee cakes.

Every time I've passed by, it's usually got a line going out the door so I wouldn't count on a visit being quick. That said, the staff worked fast and were super nice. The interior had a major nostalgia factor, with every kind of retro, old-fashioned candy you could think of filling the space! I saw treats that I haven't seen in decades. As for the frozen treats, they're beautiful in their simplicity. This place is not Jeni's, and they're not trying to be. There were only three custard flavors with seemingly every kind of traditional candy, sundae, and fruit topping available. I heard great things about the concretes in particular and opted for the OMG, which was a peanut butter lover's dream! I ordered it with a swirled vanilla and chocolate custard base, and every bite had chunks of brownie bites and butterfinger pieces. The junior was plenty big and I felt like a pretty good value. If you're in the Edgewater area and craving a sweet treat, I highly recommend paying a visit to this shop regardless of the season!
