Tried the caramel latte as well as a piece of cake and both were excellent! The shop is really charming and also has a patio that looked nice to sit at.
LA Burdick was such a treat. The place is pricey, yet soooo worth it. We tried the infamous latte, the matcha, chocolate chip cookies and we got the white hot cocoa for home. Everything was so flavorful and you can tell it's all of such great quality. The baristas were also very helpful and friendly, they had great pride in their jobs.
What went well? The hot chocolate, duh! You must have it on a nice, cold and somewhat rainy day. It felt really good to just relax with my drink and a book in this place. There aren't very many seats, but, I came on a weekday in the afternoon. I also bought a few treats for my coworkers. It's soon to be Mother's Day and I wish someone would send me a box from here! They have chocolates shaped like little ducklings. They also have the cutest chocolate pieces shaped like mice. You can get one piece in a gorgeous box for $5.50. I just love it so much.

The moment you walk in, you're hit with rows and rows of gorgeous chocolate--truffles, bars, pastries, drinks--literally everything looked dangerously tempting. OMFG. I grabbed their famous chocolate chip cookie, and wow... easily the best cookie in the entire city. No exaggeration. They warm it up for you, which already sets the mood, and then you bite in and it's just... perfection. Soft, gooey, rich, and the chocolate tastes high-quality in every single bite. I genuinely don't think I can go back to regular cookies after this. If you're a chocolate person--or even if you're not--this spot is a must. Absolute 10/10!

They have a good amount of seating inside. The employee who took our order was very helpful and insisted on packing up our leftovers himself at the end of our meal.

The chocolate was super rich and thick, not your usual sweet drink, more bold, with that little bitter edge. Exactly what I was hoping for. The croissant was golden, flaky, with a nutty filling that wasn't too sweet. Dipped it in the chocolate and yeah... amazing combo. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Not really a rush-in, rush-out spot, it's the kind of place you actually want to sit and enjoy.
A chocolate lovers dream!! I felt like a kid in Willy Wonka's Candy Factory. I have the walnut and dark chocolate cookie and it was worth every calorie . Staff is super helpful and the ambience reminds me of a fine Paris pastry shop.
We missed going here when we were near, so I ordered a box for a Christmas gift. It has been well received. Everyday a new yummy chocolate is devoured. Overall, there are so many really great flavors. The mice were favorites. This was a really great box of chocolates. Would definitely order again.

I walked to the chocolate store while my friends were in the boutique store. This store is nice and fancy. I've heard of expensive chocolate and this is one of them. I walked around to check the different chocolate they offered, but ordered a coffee and waited for my friends to finish shopping. Nice size dining area and great for pictures.

This is a great spot to stop for a coffee after a day of shopping or walking around. They have plenty of seating, and I loved all the natural light coming through the space. It makes for a nice place to relax and recharge. I ordered the mousse cake with a double espresso, and it was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. The mousse cake was delicious with a great balance of fruity and chocolate flavors, and it wasn't overly sweet. The double espresso paired really well with it and helped cut through the richness of the cake. read more

Came for the spicy signature dark hot chocolate. Amazing. Literally just their dark hot chocolate, but toward the end they'll incorporate some chili. It gives the hot chocolate a bit of extra warmth, but it's not actually spicy at all. Added on The Burdick. Alternating cake layers and dark chocolate, topped with some kind of pistachio crumble. Deliciously dark. These two items can be purchased in their cafe area. The hot chocolate was prepped in a to-go cup rather than a mug. After paying you'll receive number and you can find a table to sit down at. It's pretty cozy. They'll bring out your order to you. We sat by a window and admired the courtyard, munching away at The Burdick and sipping hot chocolate. You can also browse their offerings near the front of the store. Their mice are cute. They also offer penguins too. But their mice are advertised on their number placards. After finishing up, I contemplated coming here again in the future. Just for their Spicy Dark Hot Chocolate. And possibly other items in their cafe display case. But afterwards, someday, might try their chocolate. read more
Stopped in and got a chocolate chip cookie and hot chocolates. We got milk and dark. The cups weren't labeled so we ended up sipping each others and the flavor difference is significant between the 2. The chocolate is rich, the milk is creamy, and drink is hot as advertised. The chocolate chip cookie was SO good. I'm not sure if it can be warmed up in store but I warmed it at home which was perfect. It has a crisp exterior, chewy interior, and the perfect amount of chocolate chunks. The interior is beautiful with a good amount of seating. It was pretty busy on a Friday night at 7 pm. read more

Service was good. We ordered 2 different hot chocolates - the spicy one was more bitter than spicy. The other hot chocolate was a good combination of bittersweet and i liked. Most folks were in there for the chocolates. So it was a bit busy. My only disappointment was their restroom downstairs felt neglected and not as clean. May be most people come here for chocolates and have no reason to use a restroom but it's always disappointing when place looks fancy on outside but not good standard of cleanliness on the inside. read more

This place is so cute and the servers were really nice! We were wanting to find a coffee spot while in town and stumbled across L.A. Burdick. I had the Chai tea and added oat milk which was pretty good. There are so many treat options which we didn't try but I would definitely recommend this place! Next time I'll try a dessert when we're back in Chicago. read more

Rumor had it they had a really incredible chocolate chip cookie. And they do! They are warming for you so the chocolate melts in your mouth. They seem to be using a milk and semi sweet chocolate which gives it an interesting a beautiful flavor combination that blossoms as you chew. The cookie also has walnuts which gives a crispy bite to a soft and moist cookie. Use a fork or it may get messy :) read more

Saw the caramel latte on social media and immediately wanted to try. The coffee itself is great and the sweetness of the caramel really added to the drink. I loved how caramel-y it was throughout the entire drink. The milk chocolate drinking chocolate was incredible. It is true to the name but surprisingly not overpowering. I could drink the whole small drink without it being too much. I want to try the dark chocolate one next. The passion fruit mousse was AMAZING! The mousse itself was so flavorful and light and airy. The chocolate around it wasn't overpowering and added to the treat. The Georgetown was good as well. I liked the hard chocolate exterior and the cherry bits inside. It was a bit more cake than I was expecting but still a great dessert. I liked how cozy the inside was. It feels a tad fancier and welcoming. A nice place to step away from the cold. read more

While visiting Chicago during a chilly trip, I was on the hunt for a really good hot chocolate--and L.A. Burdick did not disappoint. I tried the regular milk chocolate, and honestly, it's one of the best hot chocolates I've ever had. Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet, which I really appreciated. It is on the thicker side, so I'd definitely recommend having a glass of water after drinking it, but that didn't stop me from coming back multiple times during my visit. It's just that good. I even ended up buying a bag to take home so I could try to recreate the experience myself. The service was also great. It was my first time visiting, and the staff gave helpful recommendations and answered any questions I had. They were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The space is cozy and charming--perfect for warming up and treating yourself. If you're in Chicago and love high-quality chocolate, this place is a must-visit. read more

Special place with delicious drinks. Tried both the spicy chocolate mocha and then a milk chocolate hot chocolate. Both rly delish but I loved the milk chocolate one the most! Very cute inside and even for being in a touristy area seems to have some regulars. We tried the cakes on 2nd visit - the mocha one was really good, coconut just ok. Prompt service! Pretty historic looking space as well. read more

The chocolate shop and café is a bit expensive but once you taste it you'll understand exactly why. The hot chocolate is amazing! I've had the dark and white hot chocolate and both are amazing and highly recommended- it's like Italian hot chocolate in the drink thickness and know that the dark chocolate is barely sweet while the white chocolate one is much sweeter. A small is rather small but the drink is quite heavy so it's understandable. Love how wonderful the vibes and staff are and definitely recommend stopping here if you're in Cambridge. read more
YUM! Loved this place so much! I got the dark chocolate hot chocolate and it was so flavorful and had a really complex flavor which I was surprised by. I ordered the dark hot chocolate and it was good but not the best hot chocolate I've ever had. For $8 it was a very small cup. There was no wifi but cafe seating. Staff was friendly read more
Lovely to have this cafe in the area. Nice escape from the typical places like Starbucks, Philz and Stan's. It seats less than 20, small enough to be cozy but large enough to find a seat. However, if there's a lot of people, it can get loud because the sound travels. My latte was just okay. The chocolate is good and I will be getting more. I'll also come back to try their drinking chocolate and various cakes. read more
